Greetings from Virginia!

Hey there everyone!
Greetings from cloudy, rainy Fredericksburg Virginia!

Here's the view from our room door.  Too bad it's gray and cloudy or those skylights would be nice.
By paying in advance and booking out of season I got a room at this more upscale hotel.

We've already had breakfast and a swim and will be heading out soon to spend the day with Eldest son and his GF(until she has to go to work)and then ringing in the new year tonight together.

Then it's back to the grind in PA on the 1st and I'll be finishing up the finances on 2015 and will post anon about the Savings Challenge End of Year Recap, calculating the Net Worth snapshot for January 1st 2016, going over the December To-Do List and going over what/how we did on the 2015 Goals and tying up some loose ends on the blog.

This has turned out to be a very low key trip which is fine by me!
Of course 2 trips to Rite-Aid were involved............ ;-)

Here's hoping everyone parties safely tonight.  I myself have a date with a bottle of Prosecco. 8-)))

Let's start thinking on those 2016 Yearly Goals too!
And if anyone has any thoughts or ideas for the direction this blog should take in the new year just drop me a note or leave a comment.

See y'all in the new year,

Sluggy

  1. I think our plans for tonight will be family game night, champagne for the adults, & sparkling lemonade for the kids. We're super wild. ;-)

I'm thinking of adding a new goal to track all of my grocery spending - by category - in 2016! Not sure if I'm up for that kind of challenge, but it would be super fun & useful to evaluate if it worked out.

  2. Happy New Year! My goal is to have surgeries I need, orthopedic and otherwise. I suppose that is not a goal, but part of what I need to do. Who wants surgery to be a goal? Not me.

  3. Happy New Year Sluggy! Hope 2016 is a great year for you and your family.

I am still working on goals for 2016...hope to have some published at least by Monday if not sooner. For tonight, we are staying in and letting the kids have appetizer style dinner (cheese sticks, potato skins, pull apart pizza, strawberries) that I told the kids they could eat on our wedding china. I also bought them sparkling grape juice; got Reisling for Bill and I. Kids will go to bed around normal time (9 or so) and Bill and I will probably play Scrabble or something before midnight. I might make it to midnight or I might not without falling asleep. So it will be a low key perfect way to ring in 2016.

  4. Just another day at our house. In the evenings, we've been binge watching past seasons of Downton Abbey getting ready for the final season premiere on Sunday. Tonight we may watch an extra episode or two but I definitely know none of us can make it to midnight. They shoot off fireworks here though so we'll probably wake up from the dog barking. Have a good one!
