Hi Sluggy, We are going camping in Oct. Will buy our pumpkin and apples in the North GA mountains. I will make and can applesauce and apple butter. Cook and freeze the pumpkin "flesh." I am so ready for fall after this hot summer! Angela
ReplyDeleteWe are going to Gettysburg in October. Yes taking an 85 year old senile Civil War buff across country for 6 days Fun! I will continue to work on the master bedroom when shelving is complete. We are broke so no remodeling. I don't plan on saving any money other that what we normally do but I do plan on really paying off debt accrued this summer. I also love the fall. I love the pumpkins and will make displays with them and give them to the neighborhood children.I may even come visit you! We could meet for dinner?
ReplyDeleteThis fall, I hope to enter items in the fair, attend Octoberfest, decorate my yard with the graveyard items I made for Halloween, take lots of pictures, can more, bake when it is cold, and institute my plans for cutting the utility/electric bill in half while I heat my house.

Fall brings the opening of Apple Hill and an annual trip to breathe in the apple aromas, purchase some to take home and enjoy carmellos (marshmellow surrounded with the yummiest carmel) - oh, there's that free sample of apple cider too. Fun times.

ReplyDeleteMy plans for fall include my quirky ritual of "fall cleaning". Yep, while people traditionally do the deep cleaning in spring, I like doing it at the end of summer. Hopefully I can squeeze in a garage sale by the first week in October, when the weather usually goes downhill very suddenly.
Also trying to get DDs wedding pics framed- she has been married almost a year! : ) Angela
