The "Nobody is Feeling Well" Edition--
I had an unexpected visit to the doctor's on Tuesday for another abscess. Had it cultured and on antibiotics. The test came back indicating MRSA. sigh. So I am Typhoid Mary around here now with the family. lolz At least I didn't have to go into the hospital for IV antibiotics. I've also been feeling "gunky" and lymph nodes are swollen in my neck. Hubs and Daughter are having similar swelling and gunk.
Ah, the beginning of weather that ushers in sicknesses.....how nice.

Last week saw 4 nights of home cooked dinners, 2 nights of leftovers and 1 night of take-out.
Lasagna night turned into Ravioli night since someone used up my lasagna noodles and didn't tell me. lol Hubs made the ravioli on Thursday(I made the sauce)and Daughter made the chicken thighs on Friday so I got a little help with cooking last week.
The rest of the bbq pork will now go into the freezer for another time.

Last week's grocery spending at the Bread Outlet, Weis and Shursave Markets came to $90.57. That brings October's food spending to $270.84.
My savings percentages last week was 46.94% and the monthly savings ends up at 45.31%(without Rite-Aid trips added in).
Leftovers going into this week.......lemon pepper chicken and zuke, and 1 helping of ravioli.

What is getting fixed and served at your house this week?
Was last week's plan successful, did you go off plan or did you not even plan what was going to be eaten last week?
Any great deals on food at your stores this week?

So sorry you are not feeling well. We've been dealing with "Gunk" this past week as well. Rebecca is back to school today after missing 2 days last week due to fever. Everyone in our house is draining. It is that time of year I guess. I hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteWould love to win the great stuff in
ReplyDeleteyour giveaway.

Soup and chili from freezer, ctockpit pasta, sandwiches and too much eating out.
ReplyDeleteBe really careful with the MRSA. I understand the Typhoid Mary attitude !
ReplyDeleteCommunity Acquired MRSA is a real problem in the US. Once it was only in hospitals. You caught it somewhere and can spread it where you go shopping.
ReplyDeleteLeftovers, casseroles, breakfast for dinner. Tight budget for the next two weeks. Hope you all are feeling better soon. Beautiful weather around here is helping to keep illness away I think.
ReplyDeleteit is indeed going around all that sickness. Chickpea and veggie curry on our menu this week.........
ReplyDeleteOh YUCK!!!! I"m so sorry! My MIL had a MRSA infection right after she had one of her surgeries and was stuck in the hospital for quite a while getting THAT out of her system. yikes! It sounds like you've nipped it tho! Stay on top of it.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about the infection. I've been exposed to MRSA many times and haven't gotten it. I hate it when I go to a cabinet to get something for a meal and the item has disappeared, and there aren't that many people in this house.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Oh Sluggy! I hope you feel better soon and the rest of your family too. Take care of yourself! MRSA is highly contagious.
ReplyDeleteWe are having leftover chili, BLT's, spaghetti and meatballs.
So sorry you're ill. Hope it clears up quickly.
ReplyDeleteToday DH made soothing chicken soup with orzo, turkey meatballs, and spinach for me since I've come down with a cold. No cooking for three days since we're taking a getaway to the ocean in Maine. Leftover soup and leftover turkey burgers for our return.
Hi Sluggy, this is Chris. I was concerned when I read you had MRSA. Our daughter had this before it was so "out" in the community. I am so glad you went in when you were having a problem. My prayers are with you for healing.
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better very quickly.
ReplyDeleteTake care, Janie
Hope the antibiotics do the trick and you're feeling better soon!
ReplyDeleteThat is serious. I hope antibiotics can clear it up quickly. Feel better.
