The Pecan Chicken(though the side was served along side fish insteadf)and the Cheeseburgers didn't get made.  Burgers move to this week, Pecan Chicken will wait until we get back from traveling.

What got put into the freezer last week....
*  Nothing

What got taken out of the freezer and used...
*  a box of Fish fillets
*  Chicken pot pies
*  Veggies for Roasting
*  Faux Breakfast Sausage
*  Garlic Bread
*  2 bags of Mozzarella

I spent $84.53 on food/toiletries/HBA the last week. This brings our food/toiletries/paper goods Total to $197.82 for March.  That was 1 trip to Walmart and 1 trip to Weis and mostly, they were to do Ibotta deals.  Though I did get some canned food goods.

There are 17 shopping days left in March.

I've earned $84.12 on Ibotta in March.
I've earned $0 on Checkout51 in March.
I've earned $9.00 on Coupons dotcom/Paypal in March.
I've earned 2927 points($2.92) from shopping on Fetch in March.
I earned 2905 Kicks($11.62)from food shopping on Shop Kick in March.
I've earned 1504 Swag Bucks($15.04) from food shopping on Swag Bucks in March.
I've earned $0 from food shopping on Tada in February.

That's $93.12 in rebates(not counting the Shop Kick/Swag Bucks/Tada/Fetch)on $197.82 in grocery spending so in reality it's $104.70 spent after the 3 rebate apps I count.
Go me!!

My savings percentage for the last week was 55.72%(without "regular" Rite-Aid trips)and the monthly savings total for March comes in at 54.17% so far(w/out R-A).

Leftovers going into this week.....Lasagna and Garlic Bread.

Here is this week's "food plan".....
1. Sunday--Domino's pizza and salad
2. Monday--Cheeseburgers on roll, Potato Salad
3. Tuesday--Veal Parmesan, Veggie TBD
4. Wednesday--Bob Evans Salad for Lunch, FFY for dinner or leftover Lasagna
5. Thursday--Eating Out
6.  Friday--Eating at Daughter's?
7. Saturday--?

What do I need to buy to fix everything on this menu? Nothing.  I'm trying to use up stuff in the fridge before we leave town for awhile.  There are a few getting "long in the tooth" potatoes in the pantry I need to use up and some chicken stock which will get put into the freezer. Whatever is left of the Lasagna and any leftover sauce(if Ex-CB doesn't want it)will go into the freezer.

What is getting fixed and served at your house this week?

Was last week's plan successful, did you go off plan or did you not even plan what was going to be eaten last week?

Any great deals on food at your stores this week?  Great deals(even good deals)....what's that lately? hahahaha

This Week on the Dining Table

 The "Living In Suburbia" Edition...

This flyer(wrapped in plastic)arrived on our driveway a couple of months before Christmas.  Someone around here evidently has a full fledged business designing/installing/taking down your Holiday Light Displays.
I was tempted to call for my free estimate just to see how outrageously expensive it would be to have someone throw lights on your house and then come take them down.
I just don't get this whole "industry" of having your house/yard visible from outer space sort of thing.  If you can't put up a few strings of lights yourself and call it a day then don't do it. ;-)  To pay someone else to do this is just unnecessary.

Onward to the meal planning!

Here's what was planned......
1. Sunday--Chicken Parm, Baked Sweet Potato Wedges
2. Monday--Butternut Squash Ravioli w/Béchamel, Salad
3. Tuesday--Leftovers
4. Wednesday--Homemade flatbread Pizza, Salad
5. Thursday--? Hubs' night to cook
6.  Friday--Some sort of soup or stew
7. Saturday--?

And here's what actually happened........
1. Sunday--Chicken Parm, Baked Sweet Potato Wedges
2. Monday--Fend for Yourself
3. Tuesday--Cheese Ravioli, Salad
4. Wednesday--Beef Pie
5. Thursday--Applebee's out
6.  Friday--FFY
7. Saturday--Chinese take-out

Nothing very exciting here.  When it's so cold here I don't feel like cooking.  Used a free gift card to get Applebee's on shot night and paid for Chinese take-out this week too.

What got put into the freezer last week....
*  Not a thing(other than Xmas ham)

What got taken out of the freezer and used...
*  Ravioli
*  Breaded Chicken Patties
*  Ground Beef

I spent $62.64 on food/toiletries/HBA the last week. This brings our food/toiletries/paper goods Total to $118.14 for January with the month slightly more than half over.

There are 14 shopping days left in January.

I've earned $187.65 on Ibotta in January.
I've earned $.88 on Checkout51 in January.
I've earned $8.00 on Coupons dotcom/Paypal in January.
I've earned 17,221 points from shopping on Fetch in January.
I earned 1,305 Kicks from food shopping on Shop Kick in January.
I've earned 1,329 SB from food shopping on Swag Bucks in January.
I've earned $0 from food shopping on Tada in January.

That's $196.53 in rebates(not counting the Shop Kick/Swag Bucks/Tada/Fetch)on $118.14 in grocery spending so in reality it's -$78.39 spent after the 3 rebate apps I count.
rah...

My savings percentage for the last week was 67.76%(without "regular" Rite-Aid trips)and the monthly savings total for January comes in at 67.28% so far(w/out R-A).

Leftovers going into this week.....

Here is this week's "food plan".....
1. Sunday--Leftover Beef Pie
2. Monday--Fend for Yourself as I am not feeling well
3. Tuesday--Butternut Squash Ravioli w/Béchamel, Salad
4. Wednesday--Homemade flatbread Pizza, Salad
5. Thursday--? Hubs' night to cook
6.  Friday--Beef & Veggie Stir-fry, Rice
7. Saturday--More Leftovers?

What do I need to buy to fix everything on this menu?  Nothing.  I got it covered(except maybe Hubs' night to cook).  The squash ravioli and homemade flat bread pizza carry over to this week since they didn't happen last week.
Ibotta this week?  Still not decided.

What is getting fixed and served at your house this week?

Was last week's plan successful, did you go off plan or did you not even plan what was going to be eaten last week?

Any great deals on food at your stores this week?

This Week on the Dining Table

The "Some of the Garden is Taking Off" Edition..........

I was gone for 15 days(when the garden was barely anything)and this photo happened on July 5th!  Actual broccoli forming on 7 of the 8 plants(the largest looks to be about the size of a baseball as of now).  Things are starting to produce slowly.

Moving On....
Onward to the meal planning-

This is what was planned.........

1. Sunday--Pork Tenderloin Sandwiches
2. Monday--Salad and Pizza
3. Tuesday--FFY
4. Wednesday--Crab Cakes, Sweet Potato Wedges, Broccoli
5. Thursday--Mushroom Ravioli, more Broccoli
6. Friday--Caesar Salad w/Grilled Chicken
7. Saturday--Something Chicken-I have a roaster that needs to be cooked and ?

And this is what really happened.......

1. Sunday--Pork Tenderloin Sandwiches
2. Monday--Salad, Take-out Pizza
3. Tuesday--Mushroom Ravioli, Salad(Hubs and Ex-CB cooked)
4. Wednesday--Crab Cakes, Glazed Carrots, Potato Salad(Hubs cooked)
5. Thursday--Roast Chicken, Sweet Potato Wedges, Broccoli(Hubs cooked 2/3 of this)
6. Friday--Caesar Salad w/Grilled Chicken
7. Saturday--Cheeseburger, Corn on Cob (July 4th cook-out)

Last week saw 6 nights of home cooked dinners, 0 night of leftovers/FFY, and 1 night of Take-Out.  With my injured leg Hubs stepped up and actually "cooked"(not just boiled water for pasta and opened a jar of sauce-well except for ravioli night). ;-)  We got take-out pizza one night using a free Domino's gift card.

What got put into the freezer last week....
* Nothing
Most of the fresh meat products I bought the previous week got used too.

What got taken out of the freezer and used.....
* 1//2 bag of frozen broccoli

Hubs spent a whole $29.38 at two grocery stores.  At Weis he got a cuke, grape tomatoes, 2 heads of lettuce, a dozen ears of corn, a watermelon, a quart of Greek yogurt and 2 bags of apples and at the Produce Market he got a pint of blueberries and 1/2 lb. of chicken lunch meat.  I didn't set foot in any grocery stores.

I earned $2 on Ibotta in July so far(on the two bags of apples I had Hubs pick up).

My savings percentage for last week was 30.16%(without "regular"Rite-Aid trips)for July and the monthly savings total comes in at 30.16%(w/out R-A).

I have 25 more food shopping/spending days in July.

I salvaged a loaf of French bread I bought at Weis(PMITA)Markets before I left on my trip.  I figured Hubs would have pasta a few times while I was gone and he could use it to make garlic bread since he likes that with pasta meals(plus it was only $1).
But he didn't use it(or have pasta)so it was still in the fridge and stale.
So I sliced it up Friday afternoon into 12 hunks, left it out to finish going stale and rock hard and used it to make a French Toast breakfast Saturday morning(I also cooked up one of those packs of Bob Evans breakfast sausage links I got the previous Friday with an instant sticker on it.).  We had a nice breakfast that morning and the leftovers(enough for 2-3 breakfasts for Hubs)are now in the fridge for him to heat up.  Of course I'll now have to remind him it's in the fridge so he eats it. lol

Leftovers going into this week.......2 helpings of mushroom ravioli, lots of corn on cob, a little roasted chicken.  Did I mention we have LOTS of leftover corn on the cob? lol

Here is this week's "food plan".....
1. Sunday--Leftovers(I had corn on cob, mushroom ravioli)
2. Monday--Taco Salad or Tacos
3. Tuesday--Chinese Take-out or ?
4. Wednesday--Shrimp Scampi w/Linguine, whatever fresh produce I can find this week(maybe Broccoli from our backyard 8-)))
5. Thursday--Chicken Marsala w/Mushrooms over Mashed Potatoes, Spinach Salad
6. Friday--Leftovers
7. Saturday--Big Salad

What needs buying for this menu? Maybe some fresh produce.

I'm still keeping to my bed because of my leg/knee so the ambitious meals(Scampi, Marsala)may or may not happen if I can't cook them.  I still have to rely on Hubs for a lot of help too so it depends on whether he feels like helping me this week.  Things may actually be simpler like spaghetti w/meatballs, breakfast for dinner or grilled cheese and soup. ;-)

What's left on my master list of meals we can make from what's at home...........
* Shrimp Tempura
* Tuna Casserole
* Roasted Chicken
* Shrimp/Crab Ravioli
* Cheese Ravioli
* Spaghetti and Meatballs
* Breakfast for Dinner
* Grilled Chicken  new
* Grilled Steak  new
* Haddock Fish Dinner  new
* Chicken Tenders  new
* Beef Liver  new
* Pork for Tenderloin Sammies  new
Plus lots of thinly sliced Chicken Breast, grass fed Ground Beef and Ground Turkey in the freezer.

Not a lot has come off this master list as I/we used freshly bought meats since I got home.  This week should see more of the frozen assets here being used. 8-)

What is getting fixed and served at your house this week?

Was last week's plan successful, did you go off plan or did you not even plan what was going to be eaten last week?

Any great deals on food at your stores this week?

This Week on the Dining Table

The "Worn Out of Cooking/Planning" Edition..........
This is just a gratuitous photo of boiled peanuts for Sonya Ann I took at Dollar Tree. Jalapeno Garlic flavor anyone?  hehehe

I've gotten to a point(I get there a few times a year usually)where I just don't want to plan meals, prep meals, cook meals, and shopping has become such a chore too with all the precautions/uncertainty/rules/etc.  It's just hard to get enthused about any of it right now.

Moving On....
Onward to the meal planning-

This is what was planned.........
1. Sunday--Pork Tenderloin Sammies, Squash and Onions
2. Monday--Cook-out:dogs, burgers, salads, beans
3. Tuesday--FFY
4. Wednesday--Leftover Cook-out Foods
5. Thursday--Pizza take-out, Salad
6. Friday--Beef Stroganoff, Rice, Green Beans
7. Saturday--Rigatoni w/Meat Sauce, Salad

And this is what really happened.......

1. Sunday--Pork Tenderloin Sammies, Squash and Onions
2. Monday--Cook-out:dogs, burgers, salads, beans
3. Tuesday--FFY
4. Wednesday--Leftover Cook-out Foods
5. Thursday--Pizza take-out, Salad
6. Friday--FFY
7. Saturday--Rigatoni w/Meat Sauce, Salad(I just had the salad)

Last week saw 3 nights of home cooked dinners, 3 nights of leftovers/FFY, and 1 night of Take-Out.
The only thing that didn't happen last week was the Stroganoff as we had so many leftovers to eat through.  Plus it was unseasonable HOT here so nobody wanted that dish.

What got put into the freezer last week....
* 1 package of beef liver
* 1 pack of hot dogs
* 1 package burritos
* 1 lb. butter/
* 1 roll bkfst sausage

What got taken out of the freezer and used.....
* 4 pork chops
* 2 packs of hot dogs
* 1 pack of bratwurst
* 1/2 of the frozen meat sauce

1 trip each to Malacari's, Walmart, the Dollar Tree stuff I forgot to add from previous weeks and the delivery from Walmart dotcom had me spending $113.86 total this past week and brings my May Grand Total spending on food/toiletries/HBA/paper goods to $560.90. ouch.  I am not complaining though because A-in the past I've had a few high spending months like this and B-pandemic(need I say more?).

I am at $40.99 total earned in Ibotta rebates in May. Not too shabby for me. ;-)

My savings percentage last week was 40.39%(without Rite-Aid trips)for May and the monthly savings total comes in at 39.72%(w/out R-A).

As it's June 1st I haven't spend anything on food in June yet so I have no savings rates for this month yet.
I have 30 more food shopping/spending days in June.

Leftovers going into this week........stuffed shells(2 left), beef and broccoli w/rice, 2 pork portions, tiny bit of potato salad, 3 helpings of macaroni salad, 5 of so helpings of beans(they weren't very popular at the cook-out lol).

Here is this week's "food plan".....
1. Sunday--Leftovers(I had a deli chicken sandwich)
2. Monday--Kielbasi on rolls, Sweet Potato fries, leftover sides
3. Tuesday--Beef Stroganoff, Green Beans
4. Wednesday--Fend For Yourself
5. Thursday--Chinese Take-out(or maybe FFY as it's Hershey medical appt. day)
6. Friday--Hungarian Goulash, Noodles
7. Saturday--Leftovers

What needs buying for this menu? Other than the take-out food, nothing needs purchasing to make this menu.  It's going to be a cool-ish week here so I'll knock two meals off my list that we don't want to eat in hot weather(Stroganoff, Goulash).  And they will be done in the crock pot anyway.
If the cool-ish weather holds out I might put Chicken and Dumplings on the menu Wednesday too.  That way I got use up some carrots too as I always put those in my Chick and Dumplings. ;-)

I might hit "Sharp Shopper" on Thursday when we go down to Hershey so there may be food spending this week.  I am not planning on darkening Weis(PMITA)Market's door this week. ;-)

What's left on my master list of meals we can make from what's here...........
*Shrimp Tempura
*Tuna Casserole
*Roasted Chicken
*Chicken and Dumplings
*Shrimp/Crab Ravioli
*Cheese Ravioli
*Spaghetti and Meatballs
*Breakfast for Dinner
* Grilled Chicken  new
* Grilled Steak  new
* Salmon Dinner  new
*Haddock Fish Dinner  new
*Chicken Tenders  new
* Beef Liver  new
Plus lots of thinly sliced Chicken Breast, grass fed Ground Beef and Ground Turkey in the freezer.

I really need to redo this list once I go through the freezer again in June and inventory.

What is getting fixed and served at your house this week?

Was last week's plan successful, did you go off plan or did you not even plan what was going to be eaten last week?

This Week on the Dining Table

The "Holy Cow!" Edition..........

I ran into the local Shursave on Saturday to pick up about $10 worth of foodstuffs and cruised by the meat counter.  No limit signs but at the prices they were asking, Yikes!  $6.99 lb. for 80% ground beef and $9.29 lb. for 90% lean ground beef?  I didn't even hazard a look at the roasts and steaks.

Moving On....
Onward to the meal planning-

This is what was planned.........
1. Sunday--Petite Steaks, Sweet Potato Fries, Asparagus
2. Monday--Ham Steaks, Broccoli or Tossed Salad, Baked Potato or reworked au gratin Taters
3. Tuesday--Leftovers
4. Wednesday--Quiche, Salad
5. Thursday--Pork Tenderloin Sammies, Squash and Onions
6. Friday--Hungarian Goulash over Mashed Taters or Noodles
7. Saturday--Leftovers

And this is what really happened........
1. Sunday--Petite Steaks, Sweet Potato Fries, Asparagus
2. Monday--Ham Steaks, leftover Sweet Pot Fries, Stir-Fry Veggies

4. Wednesday--Mushroom Quiche, Salad
5. Thursday--Roasted Chicken, Stuffing, Brussels Sprouts
6. Friday--Chinese Take-Out
7. Saturday--Pastrami Reuben Sandwiches

Last week saw 4-5 nights of home cooked dinners(5 if you consider a pre-roasted chicken from the deli home cooking lol), 1 night of leftovers/FFY, and 1 night of Take-Out.
The goulash and pork tenderloin sammies didn't happen but roasted chicken, pastrami ruebens and take-out did instead.
I used some of that liquid whole eggs for the quiche and it worked great!

What got put into the freezer last week....
* 1 lb. ground chicken breast
*  1+lb. of bottom round roast

What got taken out of the freezer and used.....
* Petite Steaks
* Ham Steaks
* 1/2 bag of Stir-Fry Veggies
* 1 pie crust
* 1 bag of brussels sprouts

3 trips--Hubs picked up cheese at Walmart for me($7.21), 1 trip to P and R for $60.28 and $9.98 spent at the local Sursave Market had me spending $77.47 this past week and brings my May Total spending on food to $307.43.

I am at $2.10 earned in Ibotta rebates in May after Saturday's trip to Rite-Aid.

My savings percentage last week was 53.46%(without Rite-Aid trips)for May and the  monthly savings total comes in at 41.96%(w/out R-A).  Not too bad and just like the old days savings totals because of the Amish Outlet and P and R Discounters trips.

I have 13 more food shopping/spending days in May.

Leftovers going into this week........chicken w/Korean sauce, 1 ham steak, quiche, some roasted chicken.

I have fresh produce of lettuces, celery, carrots, onions, 1 tomato, broccoli to use this week.

Here is this week's "food plan".....
1. Sunday--Fend for Yourself
2. Monday--Beef and Broccoli, Rice
3. Tuesday--Stuffed Shells, Salad
4. Wednesday--Chicken Pot Pie
5. Thursday--Leftovers or FFY
6. Friday--Breakfast for Dinner
7. Saturday--Rigatoni  w/Meat Sauce, Squash and Onions

What needs buying for this menu?  Nothing that I can think of.  But if I find a deal on something I will definitely pick it up!

What's left on my master list of meals we can make from what's here...........
*Shrimp Tempura
*Kielbasa sandwiches
*Tuna Casserole
*Chili Dogs, Beans
*Roasted Chicken
*Chicken and Dumplings
*Shrimp Ravioli
*Cheese Ravioli
*Hungarian Goulash
*Spaghetti and Meatballs
*Haddock Fish Dinner  new
*Chicken Tenders  new

This Week on the Dining Table

The "How Not to Wear a Mask" Edition................

With this Pandemic there was a strict protocol when Hubs went to get his eye shot.  He got this nifty face mask to wear.  Here he is demonstrating how NOT to wear your mask. lolz

Moving On....
Onward to the meal planning-

This is what was planned for last week.......
1. Sunday--Cheese Lasagna, Salad, Garlic Bread
2. Monday--single serve Devour frozen dinners or Potatoes au Gratin and Roasted Carrots
3. Tuesday--Cheeseburgers on buns, sweet potato fries
4. Wednesday--Sweet and Sour Chicken w/Broccoli
5. Thursday--Leftovers or FFY
6. Friday--Fajitas
7. Saturday--Leftovers or FFY

And this is what actually happened--
1. Sunday--Cheese Lasagna, Salad, Garlic Bread
2. Monday--single serve Devour frozen dinners
3. Tuesday--Cheeseburgers on buns, sweet potato fries
4. Wednesday--Leftovers(I had strawberries, we got subs for lunch)
5. Thursday--Homemade Sweet and Sour Chicken w/ Broccoli, Rice
6. Friday--Corn on the Cob and whatever leftovers you wanted(I just had corn)
7. Saturday--Take-Out Chinese(I got Mu Shu Chicken)

Last week saw 4-5 nights of home cooked dinners(1 was tv dinners tho),  1-2 nights of leftovers/FFY, and 1 night of Take-Out(plus 1 Take-Out for lunch).

What got put into the freezer last week....
* Scallions(I chopped and froze a restaurant sized bag)
* 4 lbs. Shredded Mozzarella
* 4 lb. bag Oriental Blend Veg
* large bag of Peach Slices
* 2 lb. bag of Shrimp
* a piece of the Lasagna I made

What got taken out of the freezer and used.....
* 1 pack of chicken breast
* 4 hamburger patties
* 3 frozen dinners
* 1 bag of mozzarella
* 1 box of garlic bread
* 1 bag of broccoli
* 1 partial pack of sea legs
* 1 lb. shrimp

1 trip each to P and R Discount Outlet and Maines restaurant supply had me spending $131.49 this past week and brings my April Total spending on food so far to $219.49.
Being a restaurant supply I knew I'd be able to find some things there I couldn't have Hubs get at Weis(flour, cheese, some veggies)but also being a restaurant supply I spent more because the containers were larger(10 lb. flour, 5 lb. cheese, etc.).  This just means I won't be needing some items for quite awhile.  I didn't overbuy but in the back of my head was the thought "get it now and get a lot so you don't have to go to the store for a longer time".
I hit P and R first and what was cheaper there I got there before hitting Maines.   I also got some deals at P and R....like 3 of Ex-CB's fav coffee, a box of Panko, 2 boxes of off brand Twinkies(a yellow one and chocolate one)since you never know when Hubs or Ex-CB will have a Twinkie emergency(I don't eat that stuff)and a bottle of yellow mustard because we were on our last one and I just realized it.....eek!

This having Hubs shop for me at Weis is not working out very well.  My list and instructions have to be so detailed and he just doesn't have the "shopping intuition" or ability to think on his feet if A is out, get B.
If I wrote EVERYTHING/EVERY POSSIBLE SCENARIO out for for him it would take me days to make a list. And god forbid he actually CALL or TEXT me on his phone if there is a problem......

Thank god that when I die he'll be happy just eating pasta and jarred sauce every single day plus nuking a bag of frozen peas to throw into the mess.
I am thankful that he did end up getting the correct free ham at Weis though.  I had my doubts he would but that worked out ok.

I don't worry so much about going to the small stores I've been to during this as they aren't as crowded as a major grocery chain like Weis and I wear a mask, a glove and my container of Lysol wipes to wipe down any surface I come in contact with.

I am still at $6.20 earned  in Ibotta rebates in April.  Nothing earned this week on Ibotta since Maines and P and R don't qualify as stores they recognize. 8-(

My savings percentage last week was 42.16%(without Rite-Aid trips)and April's monthly savings total comes in at 39.04% so far(w/out R-A).

I have 10 more food shopping/spending days in April.

Leftovers going into this week.....Rice, 1 helping of Pork Salt Lick Teriyaki Stir-Fry, Green Beans, Chicken Marsala(1 helping), 2 ears of Corn, Lasagna, Sweet and Sour Chicken, more Rice, Leftover Chinese Take-Out, Sizzling Rice Soup(I made not take-out).
The rest of the Lasagna will get thrown into the freezer and the rest will be lunch fodder

Here is this week's "food plan".....
1. Sunday--Steak, Baked Potatoes, leftover assorted Veg
2. Monday--Chicken Fajitas
3. Tuesday--Pierogies, Sautéd Cabbage
4. Wednesday--Broiled Flounder, Au Gratin Potatoes, leftover Veg or Tossed Salad
5. Thursday--Leftovers or FFY
6. Friday--Meatloaf, Yellow Squash Casserole
7. Saturday--Leftovers or FFY

What needs buying for this menu?
I'm feeling the need for salad greens so that needs to be procured but otherwise nothing pressing.
The Weis(PMITA)Markets sales ad is two whole pages long this week.  There is nothing on sale really so not worth bothering unless we run out of something that's crucial(which we won't except maybe milk).

What is getting fixed and served at your house this week?

Was last week's plan successful, did you go off plan or did you not even plan what was going to be eaten last week?

Any great deals on food at your stores this week?

This Week on the Dining Table

The "Swamp Soup Anyone?" Edition................

I found the recipe for that Swamp Soup we had at that restaurant in Alabama in January.  I hope you can embiggen this image enough to read it.

Moving On....
Onward to the meal planning-

This is what was planned for last week.......
1. Sunday--Baked Ham, Deviled Eggs, Corn Casserole, Green Beans
2. Monday--Leftover Beef Stroganoff, Rice and Green Beans
3. Tuesday--Risotto with Asparagus and Mushrooms, Salad
4. Wednesday--Fajitas
5. Thursday--Burgers, side dishes TBD
6. Friday--Tuna Noodle Casserole
7. Saturday--Pork Teriyaki Stir-Fry w/Veggies

And this is what actually happened--
1. Sunday--Baked Ham, Deviled Eggs, Corn Casserole, Green Beans
2. Monday--Leftover Beef Stroganoff, Rice and Green Beans
3. Tuesday--Risotto with Asparagus and Mushrooms, Salad
4. Wednesday--Take-out Lunch from Applebee's, dinner was FFY
5. Thursday--Chicken Marsala, Mashed Potatoes, Mixed Veggies
6. Friday--Leftovers
7. Saturday--Pork Teriyaki Stir-Fry w/Veggies

Last week saw 4 nights of home cooked dinners, 3 nights of leftovers/FFY, and 0 night of Take-Out(for dinner, 1 Take-Out for lunch).

I used the leftover asparagus from last week and put it into the Risotto.
The Teriyaki was a disaster.  I made it a couple of weeks ago and it was marvelous but I added too much teriyaki sauce this time and it was so salty I couldn't eat it(and didn't want to eat it).  I've just become so sensitive to salt in the last 8 years.  There are things I just can't eat anymore(mostly fast food and junk foods)due to the sodium/salt taste that is overpowering.

What got put into the freezer last week....
* 1/2 the leftover ham from Sunday
*  a free boneless ham
* 3 bags of frozen veggies
* 2 small boxes of frozen veggies
* 2 frozen manicotti meals

What got taken out of the freezer and used.....
* 4 pork chops
* 1 boneless ham(1/2 got used)

1 trip to Weis(PMITA)Markets by Hubs this past week & a run into Malacari's for produce and lunch meat brought spending to $65.34 and brings my April Total spending on food so far to $88.00.
The spending would have been less but I had Hubs pie a $7 Key Lime Pie for Easter dessert(but he's the only one who ate any).

I've earned $6.20 in Ibotta rebates in April so far(mostly at Rite-Aid on allergy meds).

My savings percentage last week was 40.5%(without Rite-Aid trips)and April's monthly savings total comes in at 33.71% so far(w/out R-A).  Getting a free ham at Weis with my points and a few items were on sale so that helped bring the savings rate out of the 0% toilet it was in during Week 1.

I have 17 more food shopping/spending days in April.

Leftovers going into this week.....Rice, 2 large Turkey Enchiladas, Pork Teriyaki Stir-Fry, Green Beans, 1 helping of Corn Casserole, Chicken Marsala(2 helpings), Mashed Potatoes.

Here is this week's "food plan".....
1. Sunday--Cheese Lasagna, Salad, Garlic Bread
2. Monday--single serve Devour frozen dinners or Potatoes au Gratin and Roasted Carrots
3. Tuesday--Cheeseburgers on buns, sweet potato fries
4. Wednesday--Sweet and Sour Chicken w/Broccoli
5. Thursday--Leftovers or FFY
6. Friday--Fajitas
7. Saturday--Leftovers or FFY

What needs buying for this menu?
Some milk and OJ are needed this week, not necessarily for dinners.  And I want strawberries but Weis was out when I sent Hubs there.  Weis now has sales ads again and they were BOGO there but they either hadn't arrived yet on the truck or were cleaned out of them already. boohoo
I'll go into the restaurant supply store this Wednesday when I drive Hubs to his eye doc appointment since I can't go into the doc's office and it's nearby.  I'll see what veg/etc. is a good deal there.

What is getting fixed and served at your house this week?

Was last week's plan successful, did you go off plan or did you not even plan what was going to be eaten last week?

Any great deals on food at your stores this week?
