March To-Do List

*  Pay Bills-DONE  Always done first.

*  Work on the Plan to Move-DONE  The plan is moving along.  We have 9 days or so to finish packing.  Eek!

*  Work on Hemming Pants-FAIL  As of now no pants have been hemmed.

*  Work on Emptying Freezer-PASS  We have been emptying the freezer for the past month.  We don't get everything used/eaten before we leave.  The dogs have been eaten high on the hog and we have a neighbor who will happily take what we can't use by the time we get the pots/pans/dishes all packed up.  He's got two empty freezers we can donated our frozen food too. 8-)

*  Buy Stuff to Fix House(Always)-PASS  We had the handyman out here for 2 days last week fixing some small issues.  And in "if something can go wrong style, it will" last night we noticed the gasket on the door of the fridge has started to separate so we order a new one and will get it installed before the end of this week.
Also, my car has been in the shop for 2 weeks now(a long story concerning a fuse box which is fixed now).  Went to pick it up and noticed the a/c is out.  ugh  Just got that fixed and now some moron hit Hubs car and damaged the headlight, which now needs replacing,  It's a "smart" headlight so will cost $1K for a plastic cover over the light.  I think we are just hemorrhaging cash and we still need to pay the movers.  ugh ugh

*  Start Packing-PASS  The packing commenced in March.  Eating the elephant one day at a time here.

*  Take Food to Food Bank-DONE

A modest donation in March.  More food than toiletries.

*  Start New Food Bank Donation-PASS  a new donation was started for April.

*  Edit More Photos-DONE  Lots of photos, lots of editing

*  Post About Old Trips-FAIL  Nope, had lots of other stuff to do

*  Work on Genealogy-PASS  I am always doing genealogy.

*  Take Fabric Listings Down-FAIL  I didn't take them down yet.

*  Ramp up Goodwill Donations-PASS

We've been taking car loads to Goodwill once a week for 3 weeks in March.  We've taken another 3 loads in April and have one more load to take the end of this week.

Not a bad March List and quite a bit of it accomplished. 8-)))

To-Do List....The Last Five Months 2024

 JULY/AUG./SEPT./OCT./NOV. TO-DO LIST

I am just getting to the last 5 months of To-Do lists.

How I did the last 5 months....

*  Pay Bills  DONE  Everything got paid on time even though I was in Virginia for half the month in July and when I was incapacitated in Sept.

*  Fly to Virginia  DONE  It was a nerve racking flight but I got there safe and sound(can you guess I don't like flying?)  And Hubs drove up to pick me up in August and bring me home.

*  Have Brain surgery  DONE  Little did I know that the side effects would throw me for a loop and cause a chain reaction of other conditions that went on for another 4 months before I began to feel like myself again.  Would I do it again?  The jury is still out on that.

*  Have YAG Laser Procedure on Right Eye  DONE  I had that procedure done before I left for Virginia.  I have no plans to go back to that eye doctor other than a yearly diabetic eye test.

Have New Skirting put on House  DONE  The workmen finally had a slot open up to do this in July, again before I left for Virginia.

Before shot the naked house after they removed the old broken skirting.

After shot with new skirting on the other side of the front of the house.
There were matching rose bushes in the front, one of each end of the house.  Problem was the rose bush growing on the side of the porch where the stairs were was rooted
BEHIND the old skirting, and growing from under the house.  So Hubs had to cut down and dig that bushes stump out.  Who plants a rose bush under their house??lolz

*  Have Interior Work Done on House  FAIL  Other than the kitchen counter tops and molding work we haven't had time or energy to tackle some little jobs inside the house.  It's mostly painting and some molding repair work which we'll job out to local handyman operations

Hem Pants  FAIL  I haven't done any sewing since the surgery.  I bought some new pants while in Virginia but I either haven't hemmed them or one kind doesn't need hemming.

Move  PASS  We have decided where we are moving to, have gotten a realtor to sell this place and are working on our timeline.  I no longer will have to live 7 miles from a daughter who wants nothing to do with her loving parents after she asked us to move down here at her behest even though we had misgivings about living here.  Children can be heartless.  We have been nothing but supportive to this child her entire life and gave her a large amount of money to buy a house and this is how she pays us back, by turning her back on us?  I can't wait to get out of this place!

*  Contact Lawyer about Will Changes  FAIL  Just didn't have enough time to do this before I left for Virginia.  Since returning and after my hospitalization and rehab we have met with the lawyer in November and he is having papers drawn up with the changes we asked for which we'll sign this week.

*  Read/Finish One Book  DONE  I finished "Varina" by Charles Frazier.  He also wrote "Cold Mountain" which was made into a film of that name.

*  Buy Stuff for House(Always)  Done  I guess all the various bits and pieces Hubs buys at the Big Box Home Improvement Stores, plus the new Skirting and Rails goes under this item.

*  Start PT for Back  Done  My PT was interrupted by a hospitalization and the rehab clinic, then wound care for a place on my calf(if you have Home Health you can't do outpatient PT until that's over with).  I did finally had the PT, for my back plus my hip and thigh, but more than that, my Radiofrequency Ablation(RFA)did more good for my back/hip/thigh than PT.  I still do home exercises though.

*   Take Items to Food Bank  DONE

This was the July donation before I left town.  I found cans of baby formula in the  Kroger clearance area that were long dated so picked those up.

When I was finally released from the rehab hospital I was able to gather all this to take in for September.

Here is the October donation.  It was a good month.

So good it took me three photos to get it all in.

The next  two photos were a donation earlier in November.

And here is the donation we made in late November.  This will be the last of the year.  I think I did right by this food bank.

*  Start New Food Bank Donation Box   DONE  As noted above as we took a donation in we started filling up the Rubbermaid tubs with more stuff for the food bank.  Since I( won't be sending anything to the food bank until 2025 now, presently I am only gathering items with long shelf life/use by dates.

*  Edit More Photos  DONE  While I fell behind this Summer/Fall on the photo editing I have been working at this as time permits.  I still have quite the backlog of photos though to edit.

*  Post About Old Trips  FAIL  I haven't had the time or energy to post trips.  I have trips going back to 2021 to still talk about.  Because of the medical fall out from side effects from that Focused Ultrasound Procedure we missed a planned cruise in September.  That was a big disappointment but I'm getting used to disappoint at this point in my life.  Luckily we bought the trip insurance so we got most of our money back.  Taking trips are my happy place so I really need to get back into posting about that and getting healthy enough to enjoy more adventures. 8-)

*  Work on Genealogy  PASS  I've done some genealogical work.  Mostly for cousins and folks who contacted me on Find A Grave and Ancestry needing source material or questions answered.

*  Edit Fabric Photos for Listings  PASS  Well I got about 2 dozen lengths of fabric photographed, measured and weighed and 8 of them listed with no action.  I really need to put this sort of item on Etsy but they require you to pay for a store on there and with what we have going on and now our trip to Virginia for Christmas that just doesn't make financial sense until January.  So I'll spend more time photographing,  measuring and weighing more fabrics so I can hit the ground running in Januay.

As you can see, this year has been a real hodge podge of a little bit of good and a lot more bad.  I hope 2025 is a lot nicer to us! 8-)))

To-Do List....How I Did for May 2024

My To-Do List and how I did......

*  Pay Bills  DONE  Always paid first and early or on time

*  Have Bloodwork Done  DONE  Had labs drawn before I saw my PCP in May.  Everything was good.

*  Start Shoulder PT  DONE  Started and continued through May.

*  Go to 3 Dr. Appointments  DONE  It seems all I do is go to medical appointments.  Saw the PCP, Orthopedic Doc and medical safari to MS to see my Dermatologist.

*  List 12 Items to Sell  FAIL  I just didn't get to this.

*  Take Box to One Kid  DONE  I drove over and left it on the front porch as Daughter didn't even have the courtesy to answer the door.  So I taped a note to her front door and she has made no attempt to contact either of us.  Sad.

*  Finish Arrangements for Trip and Cruise  FAIL  Well, I finished paying for the cruise but we still have to make plans for the flights out to Idaho.

*  List 2 Items on Facebook Marketplace  PASS  I DID  list 2 items on FB Marketplace.  I listed the two derelict boats in the back 40 that the previous owners left here.  I put them up for free.  We don't have the titles to either of these boats but previous owners have not made any attempts to come get them(so they have been abandoned here).  I got deluged with folks wanting one or the other or both, even in the bad conditions they are in and one of the boat trailers has no tires on it.  So Hubs looked up what is involved with actually selling/giving them away legally and it's quite a lot of paperwork involved so we are going to find another way to get rid of them where we don't have to pay fees and such to the state.   So I DID list them but we still have them. 8-((

*  Go Through Old Photos  PASS  I had to go through photos in order to put photos in Daughter's box.

*  Contact Lawyer with Changes  FAIL  Ran out of time before we left.

*  Read/Finish Two Books  FAIL  Just hadn't felt much like reading.  Some days it's hard to hold a book still enough to read words with this danged Essential Tremor.

*  Buy Stuff for House(Always)  DONE  Hubs bought something, even if it was just kerosene for the burn pile. lol

*  Giveaway/.Donate Clothes That are Salvageable  DONE  I treated all the baby clothes I've been carrying around since the 1990's with Biz and everything that got cleaned went to Goodwill and anything too stained went into the garbage.  I gave each kid the outfit them came home from the hospital in and sent a box of boy clothes to my new Great Nephew, born in March.

As a Bonus I was able to donate some shirts and a new bra to Goodwill too. 8-)

*  Have Bone Density Scan  DONE  That wasn't much of anything other than laying on that hard "bed" at the scanner place.  ouch  Was done with that within 5 minutes and my bones all look dense and good.

*  Take Food to Food Bank  DONE

Everything pictured above got hauled to the Church Food Bank in May.

*  Edit More Photos  DONE  I got more photos on my computer edited but, I came back from the cruise with even more of those type of photos. I don't think I'll every get all these done.  lolz

*  Post About Old Trips  DONE  Worked on the 2017 Trip Out West and got near the end of that saga(finally).

*  Work on Genealogy  DONE  I was contacted by a 3rd cousin 1 x removed on Find A Grave, concerning some work I had done there putting up some memorials of relatives.  I didn't know she was my cousin until we got to corresponding about some errors in my FAG memorial placement.  Perhaps we'll stay in touch once we get this FAG issue hashed out.  We share my 3x GGrandfather Vassar but her Grandmother's maiden name is Snead and she is my 1st cousin 3 x removed too.  See what I mean about having a family macramé and not a family tree. lol

*  Buy Poly Mailers to Ship Fabric  DONE  I ordered and received the poly mailers.  Now I just have to photo and actually list fabric so I can sell and ship it. ugh

*  Photograph Fabric for Listings  PASS  I only got 3 pieces of yardage photographed before the month ended.

May turned out to be a busy month and June is about as busy.

To-Do List.....April 2024

Here are my To-Do List projects and how I did with them.....

*  Pay Bills--DONE  Always #1 and always done

*  Go to 1 Dr. Appointment--DONE  With my Orthopedist.  The first set of injections didn't work much so.....

*  Have Shoulder Injection--DONE  Orthopedist did injections from the back into my shoulders.  He also went over the MRI I had earlier that showed what was going on and he recommended PT after these injections.

*  Begin Going Through Merchandise to Sell--PASS  I sort of did this....went into the "extra room" where all that is stored in tubs.  I unenthusiastically went though a tub or two before closing the door and leaving it.  The problem here is twofold-the Postal Service is so bad here(we call it the Cajun Pony Express as you never know if they are going to pick up your mail).
I can't find the photo I took but I had a package sitting on a chair on the front porch going Priority mail to my brother and had requested a pick up when they delivered our mail that day.
Not only did the Post Office NOT pick up the package but I got an email around 6pm that they HAD picked up the package, when it was clearly still sitting on my porch. SMH
Now how can I run a business dependent on the Post Office to deliver items when I can't be sure they will pick up something?  I'll get negative feedback on eBay or Etsy and who has the time to be running packages up to the PO all the time when items sell?
My second issue is about taxes.  If I sell more than $600 a year I need to start paying quarterly taxes, which is a pain and a complication for us.  I would also need to get a business license here and Lord, they slowness of attention to anything business around here is awful.  I am better off hauling everything to our next home and setting up to sell stuff there.  Nowhere we are considering would be as bad as it is here.

*  Send Box to One Kid--DONE  I mailed a box to Youngest child.  His stuff was in the top and now when/if he goes to see his older brother he can hand deliver the rest to him.  Oldest moved and I don't even know his new address so this is the best I can do.  I need to totally cut ties with him and his nasty wife for my own sanity and mental health. 8-(

*  Finish Packing for Cruise--DONE  I packed too much...could have left some shirts home as I bought a few shirts at places we went and I over packed the nightgowns.  But it got done and the cruise was wonderful.

*  Go Through Old Papers--PASS  I have a plastic storage container of old personal papers.  I made one pass through them and pitched a number.  I need to weed through this box again and get rid of some more.

*  Contact Lawyer about Will Changes--FAIL  Ran out of time before we left town to call the lawyer.  I plan on making contact with his office later this week.

*  Read/Finish Two Books--FAIL  I think I read some one day but didn't finish anything.  I will try to finish at least one book in May.  But I have not felt any motivation to read.

*  Buy Stuff for House(Always)--PASS Hubs bought some tools or something to fix something.  Don't ask me, I don't know. lol

*  Giveaway/Donate Baby Clothes--FAIL  I got the lot of baby clothes "Biz-ed" and sorted out.  The boy clothes went to my newborn great nephew.  I still need to get to Goodwill to donate all the girl clothing.

*  Start New Donation Box--DONE

Here's what Hubs took to the Church Food Bank in April.  And I've already taken a load in May to the same Food Bank this past Monday.  We are working on June's donation.  I still coupon and drive myself crazy(a little)chasing the deals because I know it's all for a good purpose. 8-)

*  Try to Hem Some of My Clothes--DONE  I got 2 dresses hemmed for the cruise but only brought one of them on the trip.  I need to go through what other pants and dresses I can manage to hem(these are the easy alterations I can do on this current ET medication).  The other more complicated items need to wait.
I also need to decide on some tops--whether they are worth altering or just taking them to Goodwill.

*  Edit More Photos--DONE  I almost caught up on photo editing and now I have hundreds more photos from the cruise that need work. ugh.

*  Post about Old Trips--DONE  I have almost finished off our Western Trip from 2017.  One more installment left. rah.

*  Work on Genealogy--DONE  Always working on that now and then.

*  Take Items to Goodwill--FAIL  We didn't get around to taking things to Goodwill before the cruise.

*  Photo Fabric and List--FAIL  I did get a big pile pulled and ordered 100 polybags to ship it in but I didn't get anything photographed or listed.

Look at me, I am a big fat failure.  Maybe I can do better in May. 8-(

February 2024 To-Do List.....How It Turned Out

Here are things I wanted to get done in February.....

*  Pay Bills  DONE  Always done first, Always!

*  Go to 4 Dr. Appointments  DONE
In February it was 2 x the Painful doctors(Pain Management)for test injections and then the Ablation, the Orthopedist for x-rays of shoulder issues and the creepy Eye doc for an eyeball check(where he found the secondary cataract).

*  Have Shoulder Injections  DONE
I had the injections.  They didn't seem to help however so the Orthopedist put me on an oral steroid pack in March at my follow-up, while we waited to schedule MRIs.  Of course, they scheduled the MRI for when we will out of the country, even after we told the doc and office staff when we wouldn't be here. sigh

*  Begin Going Through Merchandise to Sell  FAIL
I just didn't get around to this yet.  I have certain projects/things I need to finish before starting on this one.  I doubt I'll get to it until late April.

*  Find a New Dentist  FAIL
Like I detailed in that recent Frugal Friday post, using that AARP United Healthcare Dentegra Discount Program didn't pan out.  Even after informing UHC they don't seem to want to update their providers who accept Dentegra NOR care about this old ladies' terrible weekly long experience finding out that Dentegra is a NO GO.

*  Re-organize Pantry  DONE
We had a mouse in the massive kitchen island last Summer(found how it was coming up from below the house and corrected that). Since then Hubs has been paranoid about another critter getting inside(especially in the laundry/utility room as that is where we store the dog food.  Got a metal can for that now and he bought tubs to keep all the boxed/packaged food in-stuff in glass and metal, etc. is safe he feels.
So other than a couple of tubs for the boxed items, we have shelving for the canned goods, plastic bottles, beverage bottles, etc.
In the nook by the door to the hallway we have a larger shelving unit which holds dish soap, trash bags, baggies, laundry and cleaning products as well as some boxed dog food.  12 packs of soda as well as some bottled water sit stacked in front of the shelving.

Two upper shelves hold canned, jarred, bottled pantry staples and above it the tp stash.  After 1+ year here I think I bought 1 pack of tp but all you see in the photo was what I brought from PA when we moved here.(Hey, it made great packing material for some fragile items. lol)  I could probably go another year or so before we had to buy anymore tp. 8-))

And this is my auxiliary pantry space.  Since I can't use my sewing room for that purpose, I set up another shelving unit to hold more items in there.  I have a Rubbermaid tub in the kitchen where I put food bank donation items.  I probably need to go through what's in here and add to the donation tub.  The dish soap should be in the laundry room with all the other soap and the Kleenex should be in there as well.  There is more work to be done.....

*  Schedule RFA procedure  DONE
I had it and it was about as painful as the test injection nonsense I had to undergo to get approved for this one. ugh  I am 2 weeks+ out from having this done and the improvement is still barely perceivable. 8-(

*  Send Youngest a Birthday Present  DONE
I made sure I sent his package waaay early since the "Cajun Pony Express" operates around here with it's own unique set of rules and work hours.  I also Paypal-ed him some cash too.

*  Buy Stuff for House(Always)  DONE
I can't for the life of me think of what was bought but something is always needed to be done here(and money spent).  I believe Hubs had to buy some lawn tractor stuff and fire ant killer for outside projects.

*  Help Hubs reorganize his half of the Closet  DONE

Hubs has been living out of 3 Rubbermaid tubs for 1+ years now.  He left his dresser in PA(the bottoms of the drawers were falling out)and he hasn't felt the need to buy another dresser here.  He has a much smaller wardrobe than I do and he felt he had a system that worked with these tubs.
I picked up a hanging organizer on clearance for $3 at Kroger in February and helped him move most of his clothes out of those tubs into a more accessible configuration.  He now has one tub left for out of season clothing.  Hanging everything on hangers or in the organizer seems to be working for him.

*  Reorganize Master Bathroom  DONE

The vanity/sink area was piled high with stuff.  I found better places for all that(other rooms, drawers in the vanity or under the sink doors, etc.)and here is what is left, which are mostly items in use.

We have containers, boxes and a basket of excess items strewn all around the bathroom.  Now it's all contained and tucked between the vanity and the ginormous bathtub.
I still have these items perched around the tub and this container of items I still need to sort through and decide on where it needs to go.  I'll call this a win and mission almost accomplished. ;-)

*  Go Through and try on all my Clothing  DONE
I tried on every stitch of clothing I own.  3 piles got donated as they were hopelessly too big and not worth altering.  The stuff hanging together in my closet(23 items)are clothing I hope to save and wear again.  A few only need hemming but some are big projects but I LOVE the fabric(rayon)and can't bear to toss them.  I hope to get 3 dresses hemmed/re-hemmed before the cruise.

*  Edit More Photos  DONE
Always doing this and filing them away afterwards.

*  Post About Old Trips  DONE
I posted 3 installments of the trip out West in February.

*  Work on Genealogy  DONE
I did a smattering of genealogy work that month.

*  Move Video Files to New Computer  FAIL

*  Contact Church Food Bank to Make a Donation  DONE  Boy i never thought I'd have the trouble finding a Food Bank like I've had down here!  I contacted one of the few I could find(that weren't affiliated with the state government-who only want cash).  Called and left a message as their website said they were only in the facility/church 2 days a week(Thursday, Sunday)so I waited until Thursday during the hours they listed they were there.  Again, my call went to voicemail.  Since they never returned my first voicemail I just said, "I left a message (date)and still have not received a reply about making a donation.  You people sure make it difficult for someone to be charitable.", and then hung up and crossed them off my list.
Hubs made a call to a different church and this one was overjoyed for anything we could donate!  BTW-not to bash a religious denomination, but the first unresponsive church was Baptist and the one that welcomed our donations was Methodist.  I don't know if this means anything but because there are so many Baptist churches around here(can't swing a dead without hitting one)I want to think it's that particular Baptist church that was the exception. 8-(

*  Finish Gathering Donation Items  DONE
Like I said, we made a food bank donation to the church that responded they would happily take our stuff.

That's all that got accomplished in February that was on my To-Do List.

To-Do List......February Outcome

February has come and gone.  At least we didn't float away is all I can say.

Here's how we did with the February Goals.....

* Pay Bills--DONE  Everything got paid on time or early and in full.

* Go to many DR appointments--DONE  6 trips to the Wound Care NP and 5 Home Health Nurse visits.  Another couple  of weeks is what the NP is saying now.

* Clean and Organize stuff in House--IN PROGRESS  Needless to say I haven't gotten very far on organizing due to not being able to walk around much.  Plus now I need a knee shot so that's an issue.   If I get one now I am not due until the beginning of June while we are on the cruise which means I won't be able to do a lot of walking then since I won't be able to get a shot until after we get home. ugh.

* Buy Stuff for House--IN PROGRESS  Hubs bought bookshelves and a file cabinet for his man room.  I got a cabinet to set my printer on and store supplies inside.  I got a new set of pots and pans just for the lids(which we still can't find the ones that supposedly came with us in the move!!).  Most of the buying stuff for the house has been Hubs' area as we've been procuring bits and bobs to repair and replace pieces for appliances, etc.  If I could go back in time I'd have had us put all the repair/replacce purchases on one dedicated credit card.  Oh well.

* Clean out Inserts/Coupon Envie--DONE  Not much in there anymore to clean out. lolz

* Edit More Photos--IN PROGRESS  I don't seem to be making much headway in photo editing.  I edit 10 but take 16 more snapshots that then need editing. lol

* Post about Old Trips--FAIL  Nope, haven't had the time or inclination to post trips.

* Work on Genealogy--DONE  I've done a little bit of my personal genealogy stuff and I've been working on a friend's Hubs' family history mostly.

*Go to Dentist x 2--DONE  We lose dental insurance at the end of April so I'm trying to get all the work I need done.  I had a problem tooth pulled at the beginning of Feb. and I just had a small filling and got fitted for a crown on another tooth.  It was an old filling in there that was failing now so I've got a temp crown right now.  They put so much Novocain in the right side of my mouth I was numb for 2 days, including my NOSE!  I've never had my nose get numb with Novocain before.  I tried to smile and I looked like I had a stroke because one side of my mouth wouldn't go up. lol  Even with a straw I sounded like Hannibal Lecter sucking water back into my mouth so it didn't waterfall out.........

* Organize Clothes--FAIL  Nope, I need to finish the sewing room organizing first to finish up organizing my clothing.

* Find a New Bank--FAIL  Haven't been able to go anywhere except on Wednesdays.  The new bank search has to wait.

* Cash Savings Bond--FAIL  We were going to use Capital One as our main bank now since they have actual physical locations down here but a savings bond matured and they refuse to cash it(as in deposit it into our account with them)!  So now we have to find another bank but it's not a top priority yet.

That's all I've got for February.  Not a great month for getting anything done unless it was urgently needed done.

To-Do List January Edition

Here's what was on my list of things to do in January...........

*  Pay Bills--DONE  All paid, early or on time.

*  Go to many Dr. appointments--DONE  All related to my injury in Maryland.  Six appointments in January counting the stitches removal.

*  Clean and Organize stuff in House--PASS  Though I'm not making much progress as I am restricted on walking around now, Hubs has made great strides in setting up his room.  He's made the bulk of purchases(curtains, rod, bookcases, a locking cabinet and a file cabinet)too and has his room finished.  Go him!  I think I bought a curtain rod and a set of curtains for the bedroom only in January.

*  Clean out Coupon Envie--DONE  Not that this is the monthly chore it use to be as we don't buy the local newspaper for the coupons.  The only coupons I get are printable ones I decide to print or the few that come on Wednesday with the weekly ads.

*  Edit More Photos--PASS  I've kept up with current photo editing.  I need to get some old photos done though.  I could do better here.

*  Post about Old Trips--FAIL  Haven't done any posting on those in January.  Just didn't do it.

*  Work on Genealogy--PASS  I've done a bit in January.  Nothing major.

*  Go to Dentist--DONE  Hubs and I finally got out teeth cleaning scheduled and done in January.  I received bad news on the tooth front(thanks for the bad teeth dad!)so over the next 3 months I'll be spending a lot of time in the dentist's chair before we lose dental insurance at the end of April.

*  Organize Clothes--PASS  With my injury and not being very mobile right now I still have tubs of clothing not hung up or organized.  I had 2 large closets in the PA house to use but haven't figured out where/how to organize my clothing here yet.

*  Move $$ around--DONE  I didn't get the money I wanted to shift around shifted.  This  moves to February.  Not a "big" deal but will result in a little more interest income once it's finished.

*  Celebrate my Birthday--DONE  It was low key but lovely.  I heard from both my sons and my daughter here took me out for the day.

Considering I am limited on movement I had a pretty productive month.
How was your January?

December To-Do List 2022 Outcome

*  A reminder that I don't publish comments that are unsigned.  If you comment without a Google account at least put your name on the comment.  And if you are a troll then just don't come here because YOUR comments will most definitely NOT be publish. 8-)

Here is how we did with the December To-Do List--

*  Pay Bills--DONE  All bills got paid and on time.

*  Send a few Xmas cards to family--DONE  Between moving, organizing and such there wasn't a lot of time to get Xmas cards out before leaving for the cruise.  We got out about 10 cards total so if you got a card from me, consider yourself lucky. lolz

*  Clean and Organize stuff in House--PASS/IN PROGRESS  With how much needs to be done here(and the fact that I'm about as useful as a one legged woman on a kickboxing match right now).  Our initial timeline has been extended out until the end of 2023(or maybe halfway into 2024.  It has been slow going, partly due to having to replace items and not wanting to spend all willy-nilly(trying to cash flow without having to draw from 401K or non-retirement investments).  Things are still slow going as we figure out where to put stuff we have and what to do with some spaces.

*  Buy Stuff for House--IN PROGRESS  Just going through receipts I still have we've spent $3,418.35 on house purchases since November.  That's everything from a washer and dryer, a desk, a night stand, book shelves and storage shelving, a bed frame, parts the fridge needed to piddling little stuff like tools and hardware and light bulbs.  Again we are going to need to spend much more to get this place whipped into shape but we are proceeding slowly with expenditures.

*  Clean out Inserts/Coupon Envie--DONE  Something I do at least once a month and since I haven't bought one Sunday paper down here(thus not getting paper coupons)there is not much in my envie anymore. 8-(

*  Edit More Photos--IN PROGRESS  Have been working on the photos from our house hunting and a couple of local adventures and the Girls Trip to FL.  Then  we went on a cruise and now I have even MORE photos to edit.  GAH!  It never ends........

*  Post about Old Trips--FAIL  Nope didn't post anything since we weren't online/here from most of the month and when we got back I was hurt so yeah, that didn't happen.

*  Work on Genealogy--FAIL  I put more genealogy stuff on the back burner for December.

*  Drive to Texas--DONE  Hubs drove us to that god forsaken city.  Not a fan of Dallas roads(lack of signs on said roads)and crazy drivers(well, those are in every city).

*  Fly to MD--DONE  The flight to DC wasn't bad.

*  Fly to FL--DONE   We left DC 2 days later at the crack of dark 0'thirty.

*  Celebrate Christmas--DONE  Well due to circumstances not under our control Christmas was an odd duck this year.  We all made the best of it though.

*   Go on Cruise and have an amazing time--DONE  Except for one disappointment in Panama with the cruise excursion folks and the people who ran the excursion in Panama we had a mah-velous time dah-ling!

The To-Do List....November Edition

First here is a photo of my rosebush from Dec.4th........

Still blooming into Winter.  This is going to take getting use to. ;-)

Here is the list of everything that I needed to get done in November and how it all panned out.........

*  Pay Bills--DONE  Everything got paid.

*  Move Into House--DONE  We moved into the house, emptied the POD, emptied the U-Haul Truck mostly into the garage and we've been slowly going through all the boxes/tubs in the garage.  We are far from finished going through it all.

*  Clean and Organize stuff in House--Working on it.  This is going to take months.

*  Buy Stuff for House--Working on it.  So far we've bought shelving units, a bed, replacement parts for the ginormous fridge, curtain rods, a night stand,  2 chairs for the kitchen island,

*  Close on PA House--DONE.  While the people who bought the house had aid they wanted to close before Thanksgiving, they left town for the holiday so that didn't happen.  The closing happened on Nov 29th and our check got overnighted the next day.  So glad to have that headache off our hands!

*  Clean out Inserts/Coupon Envie--DONE  I small chore I get done every month, sometimes twice in a month.

*  Editing More Photos--Working on it.  I haven't taken many photos since we got back from the beach so not much to edit.

*  Post about Old Trips--FAIL  Nope, didn't work on any of those posts.  Been busy moving and putting the house in order.

*  Work on Genealogy--FAIL  Haven't felt like working on this, see above.

*  Change All Addresses/Contact Info--DONE except for SwagBucks.  SB is being an asshat about changing my email addy so I can't cash any of my $$ out of that account.  I'll have to phone them after the trip.

*  Celebrate Thanksgiving--DONE  We actually had two Turkey Day celebrations.

*  Change Driver's Licenses--DONE  Went to a rural town North of here as they had appointments available sooner.

*  Register Cars in LA--DONE  After we got the driver's licenses changed, Hubs took the paperwork into the OMV and got the cars registered here and inspected too.

*  Get new Auto Insurance--DONE  We renewed our old insurance but in LA as we were in the midst of changing licenses and car registration.  After the new year we'll look into changing companies perhaps.

*  Set Up New Bank Acount in LA--DONE  This has been a royal pain to get done.  Seems none of the banks or credit unions down here would take our money until we had LA driver's licenses and at least 2 bills addressed to us at this address which meant we had to be here long enough to generate bills. lolz  None of the local banks have national or even widespread regional presence(mostly state banks).  Then we realized one of the banks I had money in that I dealt with only online has actual branches here(at least 4 in the area)so instead of setting up yet another bank account we'll get checks for the until-now online bank and use it as our primary bank.

*  Pack for Cruise--DONE  And we are outta here!  See y'all later! 8-)))

The To-Do List....October Edition

Well in my zeal to do an October To-Do List and Update my side bar to November I electronically blew away my October list.  Thought I saved it in a draft before I zapped it out of existence on the side bar.  Nope. sigh.

Though I can't recall all the items on it, here are the highlights of what got done in October.
*  Paid all the bills(so so many bills.....)
*  Went on a Girls Trip to the Gulf(the highlight of October)
*  Cleaned out my coupon stash(not that I have much of a stash anymore since I haven't bought a paper since moving down here and my printer wasn't hooked up either)
*  Edited more photos(seems I am always editing photos but never get around to posting them on the blog)
*  I didn't post about any older trips, heck, I didn't post much at all! 8-)
*  Worked on Genealogy(connected with a cousin on mom's side and gave her some difficult info. on shared GGGgrandparents)
*  Buy a House
*  Get a Contract on PA House
*  Buy a Washer and Dryer(Did it in Oct., was suppose to be delivered Nov. 4th but then supply chain issues happened and now it's coming 2 days before Thanksgiving, supposedly.)
*  Survive the trials and tribulations of moving

That's the bullet points list of what got done.  More details on the house stuff in the fullness of time.....

April 2022 To-Do List......Outcome

Here is how the April To-Do List turned out......

* Pay Bills  DONE  Always on the top of the list and always gets done.

* Read 1 Book  FAIL  Been going down the Youtube Rabbit Hole instead the last few months.  Need to stop that!

* Hold Giveaway DONE

* Mail Giveaway  DONE  Mailed and received.

* Clean out Inserts/Coupon Envie  DONE  My Coupon Envie really needed a good cleanout which I did.

* Editing More Old Photos  DONE  Got up to July 2017 done.  Now it's onto the August part of that trip.

* Post about Old Trips  DONE  I got one installment of the 2017 monthly Western trip posted.

* Work on Genealogy  DONE  I've been working on a couple of  projects so of for others.

* Roll/Spend Bonus Cash  DONE  I've gotten a few trips done and BC rolled in April.  Crazy trip yesterday(this is May though)in which I spent $14 in BC and $7+ change on a free gift card but ended up with $38 in BC back plus $19 in Cash back(post Q style)as well as 2 bags of stuff to cart home.

* Eat down the Freezer/Pantry  PASS  We've been eating a good bit out of the freezer/pantry and you can actually see the stores going down.

* List Items on eBay  FAIL  Didn't even get one thing listed in April.  Maybe in May? lol

Nothing thrilling here but I got the bare minimum done.  How about y'all?  Did ya get anything accomplished in April?

To-Do List....Yikes! Has it Been THAT Long?

Has it really been April since I did a To-Do List update?  Going through my posts I can only hang my head at being a slacker with this item.

Let's just see what I actually got accomplished in the last 3 months(April, May, June).....maybe I should do this as a quarterly item going forward?

* Pay Bills  DONE  Everything has gotten paid in the 2nd quarter and on time or early.

* Read 1 Book  FAIL  I don't know what it is but I just can't seem to read much, let alone a whole book.  No books were completed in the 2nd quarter.  I seem to levitate toward watching YouTube at night right now instead. ;-)

* Get a Renovation Completed  DONE  It took a bit longer but the first big house project is checked off the list.

Go HERE to read about it if you missed that post.

* Hold Giveaways  DONE  I have done two Giveaways in the 2nd quarter.  Traipsing off to have fun with the twins(Kim and Sissie)in May meant that month's giveaway didn't happen this year but we got back into it in June.

April's goodies....

June's goodies.......

* Mail out Giveaways  DONE  All mailed and received.

* Clean out Inserts/Coupon Envie  DONE, sort of.  I didn't do a thorough monthly envelope clean out in a timely manner.  Again, can I blame going off to play with Kim and Sissie for that one? 8-)

*  Plant Garden  DONE  Anybody want zucchini?  Up to my armpits in those now. lolz

* Finish Editing Old Photos  FAIL  Well, I got some of them edited so I can transfer to the new computer but overall I still have too many to do. sigh.  Will keep going with this until I am done so be prepared to see this FAIL again and again on this list. 8-(

* Post about Old Trips  PASS  I got a couple posted but I am still so far behind on this.  Another one that will keep appearing here until I am caught up or dead(which ever comes first).

* Go to Cousin's Funeral in MA  DONE

It was a trip mixed with sadness and joys.  Met and/or reconnected with some family I haven't seen in ages and spent some time with my Aunt, my only Aunt who turns 87 in August.  Above are my only two cousins left.

* Work on Genealogy  DONE  I am ALWAYS working on something genealogically related.  Might be mine might be someone else's tree but it brings me joy to research and sharpen my skills such that they are.  While in MA for the funeral I did some digging in my hotel room online for my cousin on his paternal side(my Aunt's ex-husband's line).  He said his dad told them that his day(cousin's grandfather)was from Georgia.  Well Georgia was only a 3 generation stop for that line as I found cousin's 3 x Great Grandparents and their parents(the 4 x Greats)were from South Carolina and I found his 4 x Great Grandfather's Revolutionary war service record.  Boy was he excited about all that.

* Roll/Spend Bonus Cash  DONE  Another ongoing item on this list.  Before the moneymaker cat food Deal appeared this week at Rite-Aid I only had BC on 2 cards.  sigh.  The goal right now is to spend it all down if possible or get it to where it's roll-able come September(as I'll be otherwise occupied in late August).

* Eat down the Freezer/Pantry  PASS  Giving myself a pass on this one.  I have been buying very little freezer foods and since a lot of my canned goods are still in boxes in the living room(moved so we could hold the Stockpile Sale in June)it's easier to see/dig through them.

* Clean out Garage  DONE  It got partially done for the Stockpile Sale but there is still work to be done out there as the weather permits.

* Organize for Stockpile Sale  DONE  got everything ready and priced the night before and just had to open the garage door at the appointed time and place a few planks of wood on chairs on the driveaway for the overflow.

* Hold Stockpile Sale DONE  Held it on two nonconsecutive Saturdays in June.  The first day was very slow(as it was the same day as the local high school graduation ceremony unbeknownst to me!)and the second sale day was the same day as a multi-neighborhood yard sale being held in y community so lots more traffic and I sold a LOT of product that day.  All in all it was a success and after talking to one of my customers, somehow the subject of genealogy came up(imagine that! lol)we found out we were cousins of some ilk as we both have a notorious person in our lineages.

* Take Donation to Food Bank  DONE  I got no photo of the bags of stuff because Hubs took it up while I was at Sissie's house.

* Put Stockpile Leftovers Away  PASS  This is still a work in progress.  I got everything back up in the Guest room....mostly.   There is a new Food Bank Donation pile started in the living room along with the boxes of canned goods that still need to go back in the garage plus the new bags of stuff on the dining room table.  My house has become a processing center for toiletries! lol
