This Week on the Dining Table..the November 6th Edition

The "What Kind of Bird Is This?" Edition.....

At the Kroger we go to, someone leaves food in the parking lot for the birds.  There can be upwards of 200 birds all chattering away in that lot amongst all the cars.  The birds will come right up to you too.  This one perched on an abandoned cart sat and squawked and looked at me for the longest time as I sat in the car waiting for Hubs to call me if there were was an available electric cart.  It was brown not black so I had no clue what kind of bird it was, though it was the size of a blackbird.  Maybe it was a cowbird?

This is day 148 of the "diet".  Yay!  If you can call what went on lately as a "diet".  Down 47 lbs. since the cruise(not counting the 8 I gained on the cruise and then lost again).

I am sort of menu planning, mostly things Hubs can do.  I have earned the right not to in my mind at this point.  I am giving up control of meals to Hubs.  I will put in requests now and then.

What is getting fixed and served at your house this week?

Was last week's plan successful, did you go off plan or did you not even plan what was going to be eaten last week?

Any deals on food at your stores this week?

I may post sporadically after this one or I might not, depending on drugs and stuff.

  1. I found $1.13 in various places at Kay's. Mostly Mc D's and the parking lot in front of Aldi! Wish you had been there.

  2. We’re all set for the week with potato leek soup and two homemade pizzas. I let the dough rise overnight in the refrigerator and it turned out extra thick and fluffy.

I found twenty pounds of flour stashed in the basement with a September best by date so I’ve been making all of our bread lately. It tastes better than store bread but doesn’t slice as well.

  3. The reference to birds made me think of this…. I’m am 100% not trying to be political, but did you see that the AOS is renaming 80 bird species because they have English names after ? people in history. I just wonder with all the trouble in the world this is an issue? Maybe it’s just me. JRE
