Friday Shopping-Walmart, Target & Rite-Aid

I had a dr. appointment mid morning on Friday and was attempting to get a blood test done in the same building with a lab.  I got up too early so left then and went to hit Walmart briefly for some Ibotta deals beforehand armed with a $25 free gift card earned from my Fetch account.

1 x RXBar box clearance=$2.00
1 x Glad Flex n/Seal bags=$4.48
1 x Depends Silhouette=$11.97
1 x Success brown rice=$1.96
1 x Goldfish crackers=$1.78
1 x Sensodyne toothpaste (travel size)=$1.47
1 x Pure Protein bar=$2.27
1 x Kraft mac and cheese=.98¢
2 x Super Coffee drinks=$5.74
1 x Cranberry snack boxes=$2.12
1 x Colgate renewal toothpaste=$6.96
2 x Clio yogurt bars=$2.00
2 x Bic highlighters=$3.94
SubTotal.......$47.67

Coupons Used
$3/1 IPQ Silhouette website=$3.00
$2/2 Bic Manu=$2.00
Coupons...$5.00

$47.67-$5=$42.67+.39¢ tax=$43.06-$25 gift card=$18.06

I received back $30.24 in Ibotta rebates and $1.25 in small Bonuses=$31.49 and got 12 of the 15 rebates I needed toward my Weekend Whiteboard $3 Bonus.
I texted this Walmart receipt to Aisle and got $5.50 back in my Venmo account(.50¢ RxBars, $1 Clio, $4 Super Coffee).
I also redeemed for $3 on Coupons dotcom for the Colgate toothpaste and submitted for 600 Kicks from Shop Kick(which is $2.40)for the Sensodyne and the Glad bags.

After the doctor/lab work stuff I hit Target for 2 Aisle items.  My store doesn't carry the Good Culture cottage cheese but they had the Milk protein bars so I got the limit of 5.  I also found ground beef with $5 instant savings stickers on them so got 4 lbs. total of meat for $10.06 or $2.52 per lb. for 85/15% GB.
I paid for all with free Target gift cards and received back $15 for the Milk bars through Aisle(the Milk bars cost $11.50 so $3.50 of that moneymaker helped pay for the beef.). 8)

A quick trip to a different Rite-Aid to finish my weekend rebate turned out strangely.  This is the R-A where I have had register/employee problems before.
The smallish haul......

2 x Pure Zzzs clearance $2.25=$4.50
2 x Unisom simple sleep gummies 20% gold discount=$20.46
1 x Nivea moisturizing face balm 20% gold discount=$6.39
1 x Acidil 20% gold discount=$7.99
2 x Neutrogena Hydro gel face masks 20% gold discount=$5.26
1 x Q-tips clearance=.87¢
SubTotal........$45.47

Coupons Used
1 x $10 of $40 spend Anniversary Q on this card=$10.00
2 x $1/1 Pure Zzzs(1 L2CQ, 1 ManuQ)=$2.00
2 x $8/1 Unisom simple sleep gummies IPQ=$16.00
1 x $1/1 Nivea men's item IPQ=$1.00
1 x $3/1 Acidil IPQ from website=$3.00
1 x $3/1 Neutrogena Hydro item IPQ=$3.00
Coupon Total........$35.00

$45.47-$35.00=$10.47+.30¢ tax=$10.77 paid with Bonus Cash.
Except..........the cashier hit the "payment" button for my BC before she imput ANY of the coupons!
(This store ALWAYS does this no matter the cashier....so aggravating!)  They ALL need training there.

So she used all my BC first($17.98 worth)before taking off the $35.00 in Qs and I ended up with a negative balance of $3.70

Plus one of my Unisom $8 Qs only took off $4.87 on one of the bottles..........

And she handed me a bag of stuff plus this.........

Then I tried to redeem at Coupons dotcom $3 for that second Neutrogena Hydro boost product and it said it didn't qualify(but the paper Q worked perfectly?).  I'll just returnn the second Neutrogena mask and maybe the Unisom that the Q didn't take off the full amount.

I earned $14 in new BC($4 Acidil, $5 wyspend $20 Nivea-had tracking to that one already, $5 wyspend Unisom)So I have $14 in BC and $3.70 in cash whereas if the cashier didn't screw things up(and the $8 Q had "behaved")I 'should' have $21.21 in BC instead so I was shorted $3.51.  Instead of trying to get CS to fix this(they are hopeless)or go back to the store and explain until I turn blue trying get them to understand the transaction shorted me I'll just return a Unisom and the Neutrogena mask. sigh.

But I digress.........
The Pure Zzzs, Acidil and Nivea gave me 4 Ibotta rebates(only needed 3 to get the weekend Bonus)totaling $8 plus the $3 Bonus with no money spent OOP.

The upside of all this is I spent $21.56 in Target gift cards and $18.06 in Cash OOP at Walmart and ended up with--
$42.49 in Ibotta rebates
$20.50 in Aisle rebates
$3.00 from Coupons dotcom
$2.40 from Shopkick
239 points on Fetch
And $3.70 cash at R-A.

Shopping Last Weekend for Ibotta Rebates

Well while I did no Ibotta shopping on vacation the day I came home I got a good Weekend Warrior rebate($5 for 18) and an extra Party Time rebate($5 for 5)that stacked.  Woohoo!  So out the door when my resolve to lay off Ibotta for May. lolz

All this earned me back $13.29 + $10 in bonuses so $23.29 on Ibotta.

I stopped at a Food Lion on my way home(we don't have those here)looking for 4 different Sweet Earth plant based meat offers that were free after rebates but they didn't have them so I snagged 2 bags of  Cheez-it popcorn, a free Rowdy energy drink, a small bag of Duke's mayo and 2 boxes of Dewey's lemon cookies.  Original price was $16.46, rebates for those 4 offers came to $8.73.

I stopped at a Rite-Aid also on the way home for the 4 Compeed items(BOGOF and working on a foot card Spend $30/Get $15 BC deal) and the Got2B hair styler on clearance for $1.62.  Total paid was $21.60 paid with Bonus Cash so no OOP.  Earned back $13.50 on Ibotta for those.  Also hit my R-A on Sunday for the 3 Polident pro-partial items(BOGO50%), paid Zero OOP and got back $4.50 on Ibotta.

Hubs and I hit Target on Saturday to spend down those free Target gift cards I have and to do the Beauty Spend $20/Get $5 Gift Card deal twice(plus pick up those gummy bears that were almost free after rebate and clearance price(and a half gallon of A2 milk(which satisfied 2 different rebates).  I got back $13.45 in Ibotta rebates and spent some gift cards.

Then on Sunday after hitting my R-A for the oral care items I went to Weis(PMITA)Markets and picked up the flat bread on the left side which was a freebie after Ibotta rebate of $3.69.

Total spent......$20.15
Total rebates...$23.29(not counting any Bonus Cash and Target gift cards these purchases partially earned me.

Not bad overall.
And I have not done any Ibotta shopping this week(my bonus is only $1 for 18 offers!! so not worth it)as I am still nursing my injured knee.  I may do the Weekend Warrior deals if the bonus is better and I can ambulate better too. ;-)

Frugal Friday....The February 1st Edition

Let's see what wins we had this past week on the frugality front.........

*  I found money!

Actually I found 1¢ last Friday and daughter was with me at Weis and found another 1¢, which she gave to me so 2¢ total went into the found change envelope.

*  I didn't get the instant $3 off when I bought 6 of the Mix and Match items at Weis(PMITA)Markets last week(evidently the Daisy sour cream I purchased wasn't coded into the scheme correctly)so I hauled back to Weis with my receipt and the ad to get my money back.....

Now my 6 items after instant refund and coupons used cost me $5.84 instead of the $11.94 with just the sale prices.  That's a difference of  $6.10 which was well worth pursuing in my book!

*  Back in early December of 2018 I sent away for a bunch of freebie samples and Qs.  The first one finally showed up this week in the mail..........

No Qs just a sample of this hair product.  Too bad we never get these good hair coupons in our paper inserts(heck we no longer get the Red Plum/Retail Me Not inserts at all in our area papers!)so I can't/won't be buying this stuff.

I got a follow-up email for the Breathe Right strip freebie I sent for asking me how I liked them.  Umm, well the sample never arrived so well, I can't tell you anything. lolz

*  I haven't been reporting in on my cash back/rebates weekly yet this year so let me give a report on what we earned back for all of January.

Ibotta
 $36.40

SavingStar
$15.25
($4 of that was from 2018 that was earned after I moved the 2018 earned into my bank account.)

Checkout51
$0.00 (I need $7.50 more to cash out of this but I hardly ever buy anything that qualifies for their rebates.)

So $51.65 earned in cash rebates on stuff I was going to buy anyway going into February 2019.

*  Last Friday I did go to Rite-Aid as I had to roll some Bonus Cash and I had a $5 Kimberley-Clark purchase Catalina expiring too.......

I paired the 30% off Friends and Familys Q(valid on Fri/Sat.)with $2/1 Everpure IPQs and stacked a $1/1 Everpure R-A Q with that(since as I noted above, we don't get the good beauty/cosmetic RetailMeNot Qs)so each tube was $5.59(30% off of reg. retail)+ $3 in Qs off, making each tube $2.59.  I bought over $30 worth(before Qs of $18)so I earned $10 Bonus Cash back.
$33.55-$18Qs=$15.55-$5 Catalina=$10.55 paid for with BC, earned $10 BC back so .55¢ for all 6.

*  I talked about the Target freebie trip already.......

Everything in the photo plus $25+ in drinks paid for with a free gift card.

That's about it for me this week.
The only other thing is no eating out this past week.
It's too dang cold out to go anywhere much! lolz

What frugal wins did y'all have this week?

It's currently -5F here but going up to a balmy 15F today....woohoo!
Stay warm!!!

Thank a Veteran & Christmas Card Swap

Today is Veterans Day so if you have someone in your family or a friend or see someone wearing insignia that indicates they are a veteran, during your daily travels, please be sure to thank them for their service.

Here's a photo of my Grandfather and his men during WWII.  He's the one in front center with the mustache.  He served in both the European and Pacific theatres.

We got our first real frost last night.  No wonder.....it spit snow a bit yesterday too.

I've got to start cleaning the house today as Elder son and his GF will be arriving next weekend for a couple of days.  I've also got to come up with a real nice meal for while they are here since they won't be here on Turkey Day and I am NOT going to cook that meal twice in one week(not a big enough fan of turkey to do so).

I've also got to get the fridges in order(ie-leftovers eaten and cleaned out)so I can fit the bird in there soon.  And I need to figure out what I still need to buy(besides the turkey).....off the top of my head, it won't be much.  ;-)
I will be going to Target this week as they have their "Get $10 GC wyspend $50 on Food Deal".  I sent for a $50 Target GC a few weeks ago paying for that with our credit card points.  Get $10 GC for spending a "free" Target GC?  Yes, please!! 8-)

Also on the agenda this week is a trip to the Food Bank to drop off a car load of HBA/cleaning products .
We'll probably do that the same day we go out to The Christmas Tree Shoppes with Hubs.  There is one North of here about 30 min away now and I'v'e never been to one.  I probably won't buy anything but we are just going there to get out of the house and window shop.  We'll probably eat lunch out that day too.

Oh, and there will be a trip to Dollar General for some Taco Bell GCs as they are discounted at that store this week.
And of course, there will be a trip to, where else?, Rite-Aid......lolz

Lastly, head on over to Anne's blog, "Cooking and All That Jazz" to find out about entering her Christmas Card Swap.  She's done this for a few years now.  It's open to bloggers as well as blog readers so go join in!

A Flurry of Food Shopping

I did not mean to spend the whole rest of my August food money this week but.............yep, it happened.

I needed cheese so off to Walmart we went(as they have the best price every day and no real cheese deals were to be had here this week)........

2 x Sparkle pt, 1 x Scott tp, 1 box of Sweet and Spicy tea and 3 x 2 lb. blocks of cheeses came to $25.68 after using coupons too.
I also earned $1.75 in Ibotta rebates on some of this.

Then it was off to Target(twice in two weeks!)since they had cases of water on special........

I got 6 cases of water for $1.69 each, 2 boxes of crackers on sale for $1.87 each, a jar of mayo on sale for $3.00 and 1 packet of chicken w/a 40% Cartwheel was .98¢.
I earned back $2.25 at Target on Ibotta($1.50 mayo, .50¢ chicken, .25¢ for buying any item).

I also bought 2 lbs. of 93/7 ground beef.......

$3 off discount stickers made these $2.69 each.  Not bad for 93%/7% beef.  Even better was I had free gift cards enough left that this was all FREE, zero OOP.
8-)))

I also hit Weis(PMITA)Markets on Tuesday(Senior Discount Day)for a few things and happened upon some clearance deals too.......

2 x Quacker Overnight Oats cup on sale=$3.00(and I had $1 in Qs)
2 x Del Monte peaches cups on sale=$3.54
1 x Tabasco big bottle=$3.39(and I had $1/1 Q)
6 x Snickers bars on sale B2G1Free=$4.00(and I had $3 in Qs)
2 x Tutturosso diced tomatoes on sale=$2.00

And then I found some clearance/discontinued items.....
7 x Tutturosso San Marzano whole tomatoes 50% off $1.14 can
6 x Furmano ground/peeled tomatoes 50% off .83¢
2 x Classico parmesan cheese 50% off  $3.24(cheaper than Kraft even if I had a Q for Kraft)
2 x sugar-free ZZZquil 50% off $2.74 each(and I had $1/1 Qs)

I also found some meat discounts....
1 x cut-up whole fryer chicken 2.97 lb for .71¢ lb after discount sticker
1 x Perdue B/S thighs 1.83 lb for $1.65 lb after discount sticker
1 x package sausages 1.40 lb for $1.56 lb after discount sticker

Grand Total after discounts/clearance and Qs was $55.35.

I also earned back $6.50 in Ibotta rebates($1 Tabasco, .75¢ Del Monte, $1 Quacker, .75¢ Tutturosso, $3 Weekend Warrior-buying 7 items over a certain period of time)so $48.85 after rebates too.

We also went and played field hands on Monday.....one of the hottest/muggiest days of the year.  Not the best planning on our part. lolz
We weren't out in the sun long but it seemed like forever once I had filled that mesh bag and had to haul it across the fields and up a hill back to the farm stand. UGH
We did bring home lots of fresh produce........

Fresh corn-6 ears for $3-which is already gone.

6 Japanese eggplant-3 for $1.

A huge cabbage for $2
23 lbs. of tomatoes at .40¢ a lb.(We picked these.)
19 lbs. of peppers(no green) at .60¢ a lb. (We picked these too.)
$29.60 spent OOP for all this.  Had I bought it all at the grocery store it would have run $73.99 or thereabouts.

I am about shopped and pick your owned out for this week. lolz

The August food budget has $1.80 left in it.  I got some screaming deals and didn't go over budget for the month so I am happy as a pig in sh&t! ;-)

Any good deals in your neck of the woods lately?

Another Trip to Rite-Aid....Last One, I Promise! Or Maybe Not....lolz

While I was checking out at Rite-Aid on Sunday I saw the cashier had a sheet of 50% shelf stickers laying on the counter.
She had interrupted her "sticker placing" to ring me up.
I notice one of the 50% off stickers was for a Tresemme product(and buying 2 this week gets you a $3 +Up Reward)so I gathered my $2/1 Tresemme Qs and went back today while I was out dropping the Hubs at the auto repair shop.

Here's what I picked up.......

2 x Tresemme split end 'Poo 50% off=$6.98
1 x Colgate mouthwash on sale=$2.99
1 x Aleve PM 20% Wellness discount=$5.43
1 x Mucinex tea 20% Wellness discount=$6.23
SubTotal......$21.63

Coupons Used
2 x $2/1 Tresemme ManuQ=$4.00
1 x .75¢/1 Colgate mouthwash IPQ=$.75
1 x $2/1 Aleve item IPQ=$2.00
1 x $1/1 Aleve VideoValuesQ=$1.00
1 x $6.99/1 Mucinex tea In-AdQ=$6.99
Coupon Total.....$14.74

$21.63-$14.74=$6.89
I used $6 in +Up Rewards and paid .89¢ OOP.
I received back $7 in new +Up Rewards($3 wyb2 Tresemme, $2 Colgate, $2 Aleve PM)

The 50% off Tresemme combined with the Qs and the +Up Reward it gives back this week means FREE 'Poo! 8-)

This means instead of going into BF sales I have $19 in +Ups, not $18 in +Ups.

BUT--I remembered that I have a deal in my Savingstar account......Spend $25 on Bayer Products and get $5 cash back.

The Aleve PM is a qualifying product so I have $10.86 toward $25 spent.

The 2 Alka-Seltzer cold meds I bought at Target Saturday also qualify.
So I am attempting to go through their "send them a photo of your receipt and UPCs" Feature on Savingstar to send those purchases and if it works, I'll have $20.24 toward that $5 rebate.

In this case, I'll be going back to Rite-Aid this week to buy one more bottle of Aleve PM.
After +Ups and Qs this last bottle will "cost" me either $1.43(if bought alone) or .67¢(if bought with another Mucinex tea).
Either way after all is spent and +Ups and $5 Target gift card and Qs I'll be out $3.81 or less.....BUT after the $5 Rebate on Savingstar I'll be in a moneymaker situation of $2-$3 for all 5 items.
Yay me!

Just working all the angles I can to get the most bang for my bucks.....

A Rare Trip to Target and The Shelves Weren't Cleared Yet!

So I don't go to Target much.
Let's just say it's because of bad past experiences and we only have 1 Target here so unless you get there on Sunday-the day the sales start-you will only find empty shelves where the good buys USE TO BE!

So I don't go much....except I had to be nearby this evening to pick up Hubby's car from the repair shop.

I decided to stop in and see if there was anything left that is on sale this week.

How to get a Desk Lamp for $1.97 & Other Shopping Deals Yesterday

So after reading about all the FREE DOG FOOD "I'm So Pretty I Fart Fairy Dust" has posted about, I got my rear end out of the house and went up to Target.

Target and I have some bad history together.  I'm not overly fond of the chain and my only local store hires cashiers and then doesn't train them well.
I put all that aside(because of the visions of FREE DOG FOOD)and armed with my coupons and a copy of the coupon policy print-out I marched into Target yesterday morning.

Was happily picking products up, deposting them into my cart and putting the corresponding coupons into my pocket.
Palmolive Dish Soap @$1.49...check!
2 x Purell Sanitizer @$1.37....check!
Cinnabon Pastries @$2....check!
2 x Chef Michaels Dry Dog Food @$4.26....che.....hey!....WTH?
I had left an envie of coupons in the car, among them all the dog food coupons and the kashi coupons.
ARGH!
So, the dog food goes back on the shelf and I check out with my 4 other items.
 $6.23-$4 in coupons($1/1 for each item bought)=$2.23+.07¢ tax=$2.30OOP
Paid cash, forgetting to use my prepaid Visa from the Staples rebate-doh!- and out to the car for the rest of the coupons.

Back into the store--

more Palmolive Dish Soap @$1.49...check! ($1/1 Q)
more Purell Sanitizer @$1.37...check! ($1/1 Q x 2)
more Cinnabon Pastries  @$2...check! ($1/1 Q)
1 x Dawn Foam Dish Soap @$2.29...check! ($1.50/1 Q)
2 x Chef Michaels Can Food @.84....check! (Target BOGO Q + Manu. BOGO Q)
2 x Chef Michaels Dry Food @$4.26...check! (Target $1.50/1 Q + Manu. $3/1 Q x 2)
2 x Purina One Can Food @$1.29...check! (BOGO Q)
1 x Schick Quattro Cartridges @$8.99....check! (Target $4/1 Q + Manu. $4/1 Q)
2 x Kashi Baked Bars @$2.88...check! ($1.50/1 IP Q x 2)
3 x Kashi Honey Sunshine Cereal @$2.88....check! ($1.50/1 Mailer Q x 3)
SubTotal...$44.69
Coupons Used...$32.97
$44.69-$32.97=$11.72+.05¢tax=$11.77

Actual total on the receipt was $8.85 with tax.

***This is part of why I hate Target.  The way they figure things is squirrely.  You can never decipher the register receipt and I am convinced that they have things keyed in so that you always end up paying MORE than you are suppose to.  IE: Squirrely=the dog food...1 bag they took off $1 for the Target $1.50 Q and the other bad they took off $1.00. even though both coupons were for $1.50 off.  One of the Manu Q for $3 they listed under the item on the receipt, the other $3 Q was way down on the bottom of the receipt & under the item up top they marked off $4.26 for the bag for a Manu. Q right under the item, so it looks like I paid $6.02 for the 2 bags and they took off $10.26 on that sale.
HUH?  OK, so this example they undercharged me, but usually I end up paying more according to their computations.
Then the 2 small cans of dog food(which I had 2 BOGO Qs for-a target & a Manu stacked-so it should have been free), it looks like they charged me for 1 can.  Nothing adds up correctly no matter how you try to decipher it.***

Anyway, back to our story....
I hand the stack of coupons to the cashier & prepared myself for battle....
but he just scanned them all, not a word when there were a target & manufacture's Q stacked, not a look when something beeped and needed to be adjusted, nada.
Target says my total came to $8.85.  Not being a mathematician with a PhD, I don't argue the point, as it's lower than it should be.lol

I handed over my $5 Gift Card from the Quaker Granola Bars deal of a few weeks back and got a new $5 Gift Card for the Kashi items bought.
Then I slid my Staples preloaded Debit Card from a rebate on paper bought in July and paid my balance of $3.85.

Zero out of pocket and a $5 GC to use next time.
Plus the Palmolive Dish Soap has a Try Me Free Rebate so I'll get $1.49 of what I spent back & if SIL hasn't already, I can send for a TMF Rebate for her too for the 1st receipt.

Then it was to CVS to get a prescription transferred so I could get a $25 Gift Card for the CRT offer I got a few weeks back on my receipt.
Had to roll some ECBs expiring on 9/17 while I was there....

3 x Reach 2 pack toothbrushes @$3.99=$11.97
4 x Candy Corn @.50¢=$2.00
1 x Colgate Toothpaste @$2.99
1 x Cottonelle TP @$5.99
1 x Poise Pantiliners @$2.49
1 x Viologie Shampoo Sample @$1.49
SubTotal  $26.93

Coupons Used
3 x $2/1 Reach 2 pack toothbrushes=$6.00
1 x $1/1 Colgate Toothpaste=$1.00
1 x $1/1 Cottonelle TP=$1.00
1 x CRT FREE Q Poise Pantiliners=$2.49
1 x CRT FREE Q Viologie Shampoo Sample=$1.49
Total  $11.98

$26.93-$11.98=$14.95

$2 for ?
$1.98 for Pencils
Total  $13.98

$14.95-$13.98=$.97+$.06 tax=1.03OOP put on old CVS Gift Card
Received $8ECBs, Used $13.98
Bleh. Lost $5.98 in ECBs buying TP & Candy Corn.  Fitting, no?lol

When I was walking from the back after paying for my prescription & getting my new $25 GC, I noticed some clearance items at the far end of the Halloween candy display.  The sign said 25% off and there was a gooseneck desk lamp sitting there.  As #2 son just moved into his brother's room, he now needs a desk lamp for the desk in there.  So I looked it over and couldn't find a price.  I hauled it upfront to the register and had the cashier price check it for me.  She said, "It's $3.74".
Huh??  You mean 3 DOLLARS and 74 CENTS...right?
"Yah, that's what I said."
"I'll take it!"
The lamp is not fancy but it looks sturdy and is just the thing he needs.
And for $3.97(with tax), you KNOW I'm all over that!!  8-))
Turns out, it's got one of those energy saving globe lightbulbs included and it's suppose to last for 9 Years. (And you'll realize an energy savings of $47 over that time according to the box.)
But what makes this desk lamp all the more sweet to me is the little sticker on the box.....

Yep, that's a MIR for $2.00.  My little lamp will end up costing me ZERO OOP & I'll get a $2 check for buying it.  I put the $3.97 on a Gift Card(.97¢ left on the old GC and $3 on the one I just got at the Pharmacy)& I'll get a check for $2 for the Rebate.

Then it was off to WAGS....

1 Murine Ear Care=$6.00

The reported Big Roll TP ringing up .50¢ BEFORE the In-Ad Q wasn't happening here.

So when the 2 $5RRs popped out I thought, Great!....the Nighttime Triaminic IS giving double RRs.

One was a Novartis generatedRR(the Triaminic)& the other was a Reckitt Benckiser RR.  Not sure what this means.

So I went back for some more Triaminic.
But they only had the Strips left in the Nighttime....

Transaction #3

2 x Triaminic NIghttime Strips @$5.00=$10.00

Received $5RR

Ok, so this time only 1 $5RR comes out.  Now I am really scratching my head!lol

The CAT machine made a little noise after the 1st RR appeared, a bad "I think I'll jam now & stop working" noise.  Now I had to figure out whether I needed to make a scene and have the machine looked at or just let it go.  As I'm not sure if the Triaminic was suppose to give 2 Cats from 2 different companies and I was so tired and had to pick up kids at school, I just let it go.

I know.....so NOT like me!lolol
So I'll have to settle for a $9 moneymaker instead of a $14 moneymaker on the Triaminic.

In the end, I 'spent' $21.10.

OOP cash spent was $4.25.  The rest was paid with assorted Gift Cards/Prepaid Visa.

I used $13.98 in ECBs/gained $8 for a total loss of $5.98ECBs.
I used $12 in RRs/gained $15 for a total gain of $$3RRs.
Will receive $3.49 in checks($1.49 & $2.00 for Palmolive & Lamp MIRs).
Got a new Target $5 Giftcard & have $22 left on my new CVS Giftcard as well.
And I got $161.62 worth of stuff.

Not a bad days work....

TARGET Last Week....Can You Follow This Crazy Deal?

Since my last trip to Target went so well(no coupon disasters! like the time before)I decided to make a trip back last Thursday with #2 son and his 2 friends. I had promised them all a free Arby's RoastBurger so accompanying me to Target first was the price they had to pay.lol

I did 2 Transactions.....

Transaction #1

10 Assorted Keebler Cookies @ $2.54ea.=$25.40
4 Milkbone Treats @ $2.99=$11.96
SubTotal=$37.36

Coupons Used
4 $1/1 Keebler Cookies=$4
4 $.55/1 Keebler Cookies=$2.20
4 $2/1 Milkbone Treats Peelies=$8.00
Total=$14.20

$37.36-$14.20=$23.16+$.24 tax=$23.40OOP
And I received 2 $5 Gift Cards. One for each set of 5 packages of Keebler Cookies bought.
My 10 cookies in one transaction qualifies for the $10 Fuel for School Rebate Here.
So I now have $10 in Target money to spend and will get $10 back from Keebler/Kellogg's for my $23.40 purchase, so the cookies & dog treats 'cost' me $11.40

**A quick note.....those Milkbone treats are some new product line-Essentials Plus. Be on the lookout at Target for $2 PEELIES on the boxes &/or bags of soft treats. I just happened to walk by an endcap display of these(it was NOT a main aisle endcap, but a backend cap)& saw the $2 peelies. They are reg. $3.29-$3.49 a bag/box and were on sale for $2.99, so the peelie made them .99¢ each! I just had to grab some at that price for our 3 dogs.

Transaction #2

2 A-1 Steak Sauce @ $2.69ea.=$5.38 **Not pictured**
10 Assorted Kellogg's Cereals @ $1.88ea.=$18.80 **NOT PICTURED**why is explained below
4 Boxes of Milkbone Dog Bones @ $2.99=$11.96
10 Bottles of Sobe LifeWater @ $1.00=$10.00
SubTotal=$46.14

Coupons Used
2 $2/1 A-1 Steak Sauce=$4.00
10 $1/1 Kelloggs Cereal=$10.00
4 $2/1 Milkbone Treats=$8.00
2 BOGO Sobe=$2.00
Used Both of the Keebler Cookie Gift Cards=$10.00
Total=$34.00

$46.14-$34.00=$12.14+$.10tax=$12.24OOP

And I received another $5 Target Gift Card for buying 10 Sobe LifeWaters.
And the 10 Cereals also qualify for the Fuel for School Rebate and I can send for another $10 Rebate for the B-I-L.
Deduct the rebate and I paid $2.24 for transaction #2.

Wait! There's more.....

The reason that the 10 boxes of Cereal are NOT pictured is because I no longer have them.
I sold all 10 boxes at my Yard Sale on Saturday!

After the $1/1 coupons, I paid .88¢ per box and I sold them for $1.50 per box & Kellogg's is giving me back $10 for buying them.
Sooooo, I actually MADE $16.70 on those 10 boxes!!lol

I paid $.88 each x 10=$8.80.
Kellogg's is sending me $10 for buying them.
$8.80-$10=negative $1.20

Then I sold them for $1.50 each=$15.50
$1.20+$15.50=$16.70 back in my pocket!!

Look at it this way.
I spent OOP on 2 transactions a total of $35.64.
I made(after the rebate)$16.70 on the cereal. Subtract that from my OOP. $35.64-$16.70=$18.94

Then I'll get another $10 Rebate for the cookies. $18.94-$10=$8.94.
I'm OOP $8.94 in the end.
I have.....10 Sobes, 2 A-1 Sauces, 8 Milkbone boxes/bags, 10 packages of Cookies($64.70 worth of stuff) AND a $5 Target Gift Card.
It all cost me $8.94.

Utilizing Sales, Your Pantry & Leftovers AND a Trip to Target

This past week, the regional chain grocery store in my teeny tiny town had Ground Beef for $1.69 lb. That is the rock bottom price here for GB. So like any self-respecting couponing stockpiler, I stocked up of course!

Now what to do with all that Meat....
I repacked about half of the 12 lbs. of it into 1.5lbs. portions in foil and froze it. That is enough to make most any recipe I have that calls for ground beef, or in some cases a double batch of a recipe. These packs will be used for Tacos, Sloppy Joes, Chilli, Meat Spaghetti Sauce, etc.

Some more of it was used to make last night's dinner, Beef Pie. Beef Pie is my version of Shepherd's Pie. You substitute Cornbread topping for Mashed Potatoes.

I made 4 packages of precooked Meatballs for the freezer with 2 portions of the meat, so hubby or the kids can just make up a quick Spaghetti & Meatballs fare when I can't be here to cook dinner.

I debated with myself what to do with the last portion of meat. I looked around the kitchen pantry/fridge to see what I had that needed to be used up soon. You have to keep an eye out for Food Waste, don't you?
There was some leftover spanish rice and tortillas from last friday's Chicken Enchildas.
Bingo!
Use these 3 ingredients plus a can of refried beans(purchased on sale for 99 cents)to make Burritos for the freezer.

We love us some burritos in this house, usually buying the El Monterey brand, as it's the only brand available in the store here.
They hardly go on sale anymore, so that's $4.49 per bag we have to pay. The burritos also seem to have gotten smaller AND they have shrunk the number of burritos in the bag from 10 to 8! Of course, they didn't shrink the price you pay accordingly. grrrrrr

I just cook the ground beef up with garlic, onions, cumin, taco spices and some tomato paste. Take your tortilla, put some rice, some beans, some cheese(jack &/or cheddar, queso) & some beef in the middle and fold it up. I wrap each one in a piece of foil so it stays together until it hardens in the freezer.

I got to use up leftovers & make something I KNOW will be eaten by the kids, from ingredients that I bought inexpensively.

The cost analysis on this dish...
$4.53 for the ingredients
Made 8 large Burritos
So that comes out to $.56 per serving.
Basically, it cost me about the same to make these 8 Large Burritos as to buy the bag of El Monterey's, so in essence, mine cost half the price of the store bought ones.
That works for me!

I hurt my foot on wednesday trying to reach for those boxes of Green Giant veggies I bought for 50 cents a box.
I haven't been able to drive since then, as driving aggravates the foot. I spent Friday at the dr. office, getting x-rays and getting medicine. Luckily DH was home and could drive me around. He drove me to Target for the meds and I was able to pick up a few things for real cheap while there. ;-)

At TARGET I got...
4 x Mott's Applesauce for $.09 a package (reg. $1.66 -Target Q $1+IP Q $.55=$.09)
4 x The Good Life Cat Food for $.99 package (sale price $3.99 - MQ $3=$.99)
2 x Huggies Wipe Refill for $.99 (reg. $5.99 - IP Q $5=$.99)
1 x Glucerna Cereal for -$.51 (reg. $4.49-IP Q $5= -$.51)
2 x Deerfield Shredded Mozz. Cheese for $1.25 ea. (sale price $1.75-Target Q $1.00/2=$1.25 ea.)

Total cost OOP=$6.43
Value of Items with tax=$43.72
Savings of $37.29 or OVER 84%!

Then we bought 2 new printer cartridges. All this coupon printing just sucks up the printer ink, doesn't it? There went all my great coupon savings.lolol
