End of the Rite-Aid Porn for Last Week & Grand Totals

Last week was a Fabulous! week for Rite-Aid Deals!!!
I basically rolled all my Bonus Cash forward on 3 cards/accounts so now I don't have to worry about loosing any for another 60 Days.  That's always a good thing.  But better yet, I did this, plus brought home a metric ton of goodies AND I got paid to do it.
Nothing better......

So I had to go off the mountain on Friday.  Before leaving I hit my Rite-Aid, procured a few Spend $X/Get $X Off Catalinas and bought this on my son's card..........

I saw online that the smaller packages of Always incontinence pads and liners are part of the Buy 2/Get $7 back in BC Deal(even though the ad only advertises that the larger/expensive packs of these products give the $7 BC-this is a MONTHLY Deal, Limit 4 per card)and buying those it a moneymaker after BC so I clipped those Qs onto the Load2Card account on daughter's card.  Daughter was also nagging me to buy her some cereal since I stopped buying types I didn't eat(she wanted Special K specifically and Honey Bunches of Oats)so I bought all this.......

Rite-Aid Last Week

Well the snow storm thwarted my evil plan as I wasn't able to get to Rite-Aid on Saturday to finish the deals I wanted to do last week.
Rats.

I shared what I bought on my son's card last Sunday(which was a $14.59 moneymaker)but here is what I bought on my card later on this past week.........

I actually did 5 transactions--2 of the cosmetic items in 1, the other cosmetic in a another 1, the air fresheners in 1, 2 x Kleenex with the Vitamints in another 1 and 2 x Kleenex and dish soaps in the last 1.

Each 2 boxes of Kleenex 4-packs generated a $2 OYNO Catalina Q so that's why I broke up those purchases into 2 orders.  2 of the Physician's Formula items have mail-in rebates so that's why I bought those 2 in separate orders.  And the air fresheners where bought first on another day because the store's truck order hadn't come in that week yet so I couldn't do the Kleenex purchases yet as they were out of stock.
See?....there really is a method to my madness.  lolz

Altogether this all came to $64.96 w/tax.
Coupons came to $13.29
$64.96-$16.30=$48.66

I used $48.66 in Plenti points to pay and earned another $32 in new Plenti points(2x $10 wyb $15 Physician's Formula, $10 Bonus Starting Points wyb $30, $2 Kleenex wyb $15), received $3.30 in cash at SavingStar(Renuzit) and will receive $15 in mail-in cash rebates for the cosmetics(Physician's Formula), making this a $1.64 moneymaker AND I still have a $2 OYNO Catalina to spend too.
Deducting the cost of the stamps to mail for the cosmetic rebates and it's still a .74¢ moneymaker.  ;-)

I had plans to do the P&G Deal(earning $20 in Plenti points)on Saturday.  I had to wait a day for the new Plenti points I earned to go "live" from Friday's purchases and when the snow happened well, I didn't get to the store on Saturday.
Rats.
If I had my 2 x Pampers, 2 x Cover Girl eye shadow and 1 Charmin TP pack would have "cost" me $1.90 + tax after sales/Qs/new Plenti points.
Oh well.......

Let's recap all our purchases of last week--

I "bought".....
6 x 12-packs Coke products
2 x 12-packs Charmin
2 x Vitamints
2 x Cover Girl eye shadow
2 x Cover Girl mascara
2 x Palmolive dish soap
4 x Kleenex 4-pack bundles
6 x Renuzit air fresheners
3 x PFormula cosmetic items

And after sales/coupons/rebates/taxes/cost of stamps I "made" $15.33(and a $2 Catalina too)to bring this all home for FREE! 8-)

I'll be laying off of Rite-Aid this week as the Starting Points Bonus Deals are finished for January and the next promo for February doesn't start until next Sunday 1/31.  I'm not real crazy about the next promo as you have to "spend" $100 before the first reward of $20 kicks in.  This promo will be harder to work the deal so that I don't "spend" anything to get my free stuff. 8-)))

Other than buying some gift cards that generate Plenti points this week there isn't anything for me to buy at Rite-Aid until next week.

What I Got at Rite-Aid This Week

I had $30+ in +Up Rewards to spend and/or roll before Saturday night.
Not alot this week I want/need that would let me roll more than I spent down.
That's how Rite-Aid gets you.......they give you a week with a ridiculous number of great deals, so that you end up with lots and lots of +Up Rewards, and then for the next 2 weeks(that's how long you have before most +Ups expire) the store has nothing.....nada......no opportunities to roll those +Ups.
*sigh*

So it was off to Rite-Aid to shop......

1 x Bayer aspirin (used raincheck)=$3.00
4 x Dawn dish soap(used raincheck .97¢ea.)=$3.88
2 x Glad trash bags on sale($4.49ea.)=$8.98
2 x Playtex Ortho binkies 20% Wellness discount($4.39ea.)=$8.78
2 x Conair hair brushes BOGOF sale=$9.19
1 x Conair comb 20% Wellness discount=$2.23
SubTotal....$36.06

Coupons Used
1 x $3/1 Bayer ManuQ=$3.00
2 x $1/2 Dawn dish soap ManuQ(P&G insert)=$2.00
2 x $2/1 Glad trash bags AdPerksQ=$4.00
1 x $2/2 Playtex Ortho binkies IPQ=$2.00
Coupon Total......$11.00

$36.06-$11.00=$25.06
I used $25 in expiring +Up Rewards.

$25.06-$25 +Ups=$.06 + $.15tax=$.21 OOP.
I put the 21¢ on my trusty Rite-Aid gift card.

I received back $13 in new +Ups(2 x $4 for the Binkies, $5 WYB $10 in Conair items).

And here's the analysis.....
* The aspirin was free after Q and raincheck.  This was a free with +Ups deal last month that my store has been out of since then.  I'm happy they got some in before the Q expired later this month.  With 3 kids there is always a need for headache medication.lol

* With the $1/2 Qs and raincheck, the Dawn came out to .47¢ per bottle.  Dish soap is a staple in my stockpile.  It doesn't go bad and it's something you need.

*  Glad trash bags are on sale at R-A this week for a decent price-$4.49.  By pairing this sale with the August AdPerks $2 off Glad products Q, they are $2.49 a box.  If you have a ManuQ to stack with this AdPerksQ, you can get them for even cheaper this week.  Again, I like to keep a stockpile of these items.

* Select Playtex baby products produce a $4 +Up this week, including these pacifier packs.  The binkies are NOT on sale but if you have a Wellness discount, they are under $1 each after discount, the Q and +Ups you receive back.  This is not something I need, but it was good for rolling expiring +Ups AND I'll either wrap them up for my "baby is due any day" friend or I'll tuck them back for another gift opportunity.  They don't take up much room so I don't mind hanging onto them for now.

* Now to the deal that got me excited!
The hair brushes.
This week the Conair brushes are BOGO free.  Plus there is a $5 +Ups when you buy $10 in these products.
I got 2 boar bristle(the GOOD ones!)brushes for the price of one--$9.19.
I had to buy a small item to get me to $10 spent, so I also got the black comb, which cost me $2.23 after Wellness discount.  Since I didn't get 2 combs, my 20% Wellness discount kicked in on that item.
I spent $11.42 on 2 good brushes and a comb and I got a $5 +Ups back.
In the end I spent $6.42 on 2 good quality hair brushes and a comb.
I can match that deal anywhere!
One of them is going into #2 Son's Xmas stocking and the other I'll keep in reserve for when he loses the one Santa brings. 8-P

Pardon me for gushing over these brushes......

I used $25 in +Ups.....$13 was rolled, $12 was spent.
I still have $9 to spend/roll before Saturday is out.

August Grand Totals so far this month.....

Out Of Pocket....$0  cash
Value of items bought....$321.16
Savings Rate of  100%
Single Check Rebate due....$2.00
After SCR applied, Out of Pocket....Still $0
Savings Rate Still  100%

+Ups at beginning of month...$14+
+Ups used....$70+
+Ups received...$89+
+Ups currently...$33+

It's All About the Rite-Aid Baby!....A Woot!, The End of an Era and some Ranting

Ok, so that title may be a little misleading.  It IS about Rite-Aid but in a larger sense it's about couponing too in general.
So even if you don't Rite-Aid, it's worth reading....maybe. ;-)

First off, I need to catch up with a Rite-Aid trip I took weeks! ago.
It's a big one......are you ready for it?

*If you remember, I was owed $2 in +Up Rewards from last month.  I opted to return the item instead of fighting to get my rightly deserved +Ups from Corporate.  So instead of having $4 in +Ups, I started September with $2.

**After returning the item in question above, I got a credit toward my gift card balance so that it why it is larger than August's ending balance.

If you haven't noticed yet, I've been taking a Rite-Aid break.
I want to share 2 different thoughts on deal hunting at Rite-Aid with you.

First I want to blow my own horn.

Since I wore myself out physically yesterday at storage I have been doing nerdy sedentary things today....like going over all my spreadsheets and transaction logs for recent years from Rite-Aid.
Because that's what us nerds like to do! 8-)

I found I achieved a major accomplishment with my Rite-Aid shopping.
From September of 2010 through August of 2011, I spent not one cent of my own money at Rite-Aid.
That's one solid year, 12 months, of hauling home bags and bags of goods without forking over ANY CASH.

Sssssshhh....don't tell them.

Between sales, strategic use of coupons, +Up Rewards and free gift cards I was able to supply my family with toiletries, HBA, cleaning supplies and a little bit of food(and non-foods like snacks and candy) for $0.00 spending.

It would have been 3 months longer(from June 2010-August 2011)without spending actual cash, if I had taken a RA gift card on vacation with me in August of 2010 and hadn't paid $8.99 cash for that coffeemaker I bought at a Rite-Aid in New Hampshire.
Doh!

Here are the numbers.....

From September 2010 through August 2011 at Rite-Aid--
I spent $0.00 cash OOP.
I spent $141.97 in gift cards that cost me $0.00 cash to obtain.
I took home merchandise that retailed for $11,224.28.
I earned gift cards/certificates worth $95 during this time.
I earned cash rebates of $412.12 during this time.
I also sold excess items for $682 cash.
I gave away many items to friends and family, as well as made 3 sizable  food bank donations from the excess items.
I also still have an "ass ton" sized stockpile of drugstore items.

So you could look at this and say that I was paid $1,094.12 in cash(rebates and garage sale profit)to take $11,224.28 worth of merchandise home from the store.
Now if THAT is not an accomplishment, I don't know what is!LOL

You may notice that my free gift card value earned was less than my gift cards used during this 12 months, so how did I not spend any cash on all this?

In 2010, there were MANY SCR deals that gave gift cards instead of cash.  I must have pursued ALL of those deals, since from 7/2010 until 12/2010 I earned $280 in free gift cards.(I earned even more gift cards earlier in 2010 which I am not recounting here.) And that $280 worth doesn't even count the ones I earned from transferring prescriptions to Rite-Aid last year that earned me a $25 gift card for each one.  This explains why all my $141.97 OOP was paid for with gift card that cost me nothing to obtain.
And I still have about $70 left from my gift card stash.

Another thing I noticed was that since Rite-Aid introduced the +Wellness and the +Ups Rewards program early in 2010(Feb. in my area since it was within a test market program), this is the FIRST TIME I have had NO +Up Rewards in 20 contiguous months to spend.  At. All.
Wow.....

My Other Thought--
Now, I love my Rite-Aid stores here and the people who work there.
While my local employees are missing me coming to see them(yes, I am loved!lol),the bean counters in corporate are breathing a sigh of relief that, for now, my plundering and pillaging of Rite-Aid is over.
Now they don't have me to bring down their profit numbers.
Maybe now, my local Rite-Aid stores can show a profit. ;-)
(Did I say NOW enough times for you in the last few sentences?lol)

So I'll look at my Rite-Aid break as my way of helping them stay in business.
Because it everybody shopped there like I did/do, they would be long gone. ;-)

On the down side, the "perfect storm" of conditions that aided me in getting so much for free at Rite-Aid no longer exist.
I benefited from being able to combine SCR deals, free gift card deals, liberal coupon policies, bonus coupons and deals and promotions from the company and some amazing deals that made many items free.  It was all perfectly ethical, legal and in every other way acceptable.  I didn't scam any one or do anything immoral to get what I got. You just had to be motivated and dedicated enough to work all the angles and take advantage of all the opportunities.  It was by no means easy and yes, it took time and energy.

Currently, Rite-Aid offers no prescription transfer incentives, no survey coupon incentives, no $X off $XX coupons, no gift card SCR deals, +Up Rewards and Single Check Rebates that require you to spend too much OOP even after coupons to get them.
Add in that they have restricted their Coupon Policy twice in the last year and that the Manufacturers have clamped down on releasing high value coupons or even any coupons at all for certain products
AND have raised the cost of their products in this economy.

Every opportunity has tightened up so much(if it even still exists!), your results will NOT net you as much free stuff as before.  Not at Rite-Aid or any store that you can name.
That's just the world we currently live in.

Will it change?
You bet!
Retailing is ever changing....it could get better or it could get worse, and it will probably do both over the coming years.
Just keep your thumb on the pulse of retailing and be prepared to seize deals and opportunities when you find them.

I, for one, am anxious to see where shopping in 2012 leads us!

Getting to the Rite-Aid This Week

As soon as we got home on Monday I rolled up to Rite-Aid to get the freebies with BIL's card......

4 x Colgate Toothpaste on sale $2.99=$11.96
2 x St. Joseph Aspirin on sale $1.50=$3.00
SubTotal.....$14.96

Coupons Used
3 x $1/1 any Colgate Toothpaste ManuQ(5/5SS insert?)=$3.00
Coupon Total....$3.00

$14.96-$3.00=$11.96 OOP
I used $11.60 in +Up Rewards to pay and put the other $.36 on my Rite-Aid gift card so ZERO money spent.
I received back $14.96 in +Up Rewards so I am 'up' $3.36 in +Ups for this transaction.

Even if you don't have any Colgate ManuQs, the toothpaste is free after +Ups, as is the Aspirin.  Remember that there is a limit of 4 on the toothpaste and 2 on the aspirin +Ups Deals per wellness card.
And if your stores are out of stock, get that Raincheck!!  Make sure they note the +Ups deal on the raincheck, so you can get FREE toothpaste and aspirin after the sale ends on Saturday!

And I noticed today that I hit the $1000 spending mark at Rite-Aid using my wellness card in the middle of May, so I've qualified for the 20% whole store discount already for all of 2012.
Ok, so I haven't actually 'spent' any money at Rite-Aid since last August......which makes this even sweeter, right? ;-)
BIL's card/account is almost at the $500 spending mark for 2011 so he's at the 10% discount for 2012 now and I'm fairly sure he'll get to $1K mark/20% discount by the end of this year too.

How are you doing on getting to the Discount levels for next year?
Do you think you'll get to Silver or Gold by the end of December?

Rite-Aid All Up in Here...And Grand Totals for March SCR Period

Here's what I got at Rite-Aid late last week.....

This photo is from 2 trips on Thursday evening.  I used 3 more Johnson & Johnson baby 'poo rainchecks with $1/1 Qs for more free 'poo.  I combined BOGO Qs from the NutriNail website with the BOGO sale last week at Rite-Aid for free nail stuff.  I used $2/1 Qs from the tearpad at the dentist's office to get $1 in overage for each of the floss items to use on other items in the transactions.   The Starbusrt was .25¢ after AdPerks/VV IPQ for .25¢ combined with the sale price of .50¢.
I also bought a pack of Bubbalicious gum that didn't make it into the photo. ;-)

On Saturday I used my free TP raincheck as they FINALLY had the 4 packs of Rite-Aid TP in.  That raincheck was over 2 months old!  Some stores will honor rainchecks even if they are over 30 days old if the store hasn't had that product back in stock since issuing the raincheck, which was the case for me.  Be sure and ask if you have an older than 30 day old raincheck....you might be surprised that you can still use it!

I picked up some more free NutriNail products by combining Q with sale. I used my Colgate raincheck and $1 Qs to get more free toothpaste.  The Glad bags was another raincheck and a Q, though they weren't free after using both.  I did have to use a $1 +Ups and put $1.03 on my gift card.
I'm OOP $1.16(on the gift card)for these transactions and my gift card is down to $51.49.

I have $18 in +Ups expiring this Saturday.
I have no clue what I am going to buy with them.
What all has everyone else bought, or is going to buy this week at Rite-Aid?
I don't see much I want that I can get and roll those +Ups, so I guess I'll be burning these babies instead.

Since Allegra is now OTC, maybe I'll get me some Generic Loratadine(Claritin) since it's BOGO this week.
I sure hate that all the allergy meds are going off prescription.  With our prescription plan(which we pay thru the nose for-no pun intended)I can get RX allergy meds for $10 or less for the generics.  Now that it's OTC I'll have to pay $25 or more for Allegra brand....ain't happening!lol  I hope they come out with the generic formulation(Fexafenadine)OTC soon so I can pay less.

$30.12-$1=$29.12+.06tax=$29.18
I used $29 +Up Rewards to pay and put the .18¢ on my Rite-Aid gift card.
I received $6 in +Up Rewards($2 Colgate, 2 x $1 NYC, $2 wyb 2 Sally Hansen cosmetics over $1.99).

**I "thought" I had bought the Vivitar video camera that had a $20 SCR...at least the hook it was on had the tag for the rebate on it.
But once I got out to the car I realized I bought the wrong camera because the one with the SCR cost alot more than $23.99.lol
So I returned the one I bought(it, along with an identical one had been put on the wrong peg hook in the store)and bought the correct one.
The correct one was $26 more.
Ugh!
I forked over $26 more in +Ups and put another .06¢ on my Rite-Aid gift card.

So I spent down $49 in +Ups.....well really I only spent down $29 & converted $20 of it into cash, via the $20 SCR I'll get back.

I still had something like $78 in +Ups left to use by Tuesday, so I went back on Saturday and bought.....

I used $71 +Up Rewards to pay and put the .51¢ on my Rite-Aid gift card(I have $2.10 left on this gift card).
I received $8 in +Up Rewards back(3 x $2 wyb 2 Sally Hansen, 2 x $1 NYC).
I also qualified for a $20 SCR for the MP3 Player, so I rolled $8 +Ups, spent down $43 +Ups and converted $20 +Ups into cash via SCR.

Ok, so Sluggy is math challenged and forgot to add quite a few +Ups to her totals along the way.  According to my trusty calculator, I should have had $249 in +Ups going into these transactions.  Let's correct the info below(so it at least lines up with the reality of what I have in +Ups at this moment)and move along, shall we? ;-)

I spent $36 in +Up Rewards on all this and received back $40 in +Up Rewards & $4 in SCRs.
$1.41 OOP was put on my Rite-Aid gift card.
The value of this haul was $172.88.

Here is what I brought home on Sunday, the start of the new sales week.....

$53.20-$24.79=$28.41
I used $28 +Up Rewards and put the .41¢ on my gift card.
I received $23 in +Up Rewards....4 x $2 Desitin, 6 x $1 Reach, $2 Sucrets, $1 Oreos and $1 Month long food +Up for each Hormel, Oreos and Jif(6 in total).
So in the end, this trip cost me .41¢ on my gift card and $5 in +Ups.  Considering the milk alone was $3.31, this wasn't too bad a haul.lol

**Two bags of Oreos are giving 3 $1 Ups....1 per bag for a monthlong deal and this week's $1 wyb 2 bags +Up.
I had wanted to pick up some J&J No More Tears shampoo but my store was clean out.  Someone also came in between Sat. afternoon and when I got there Sunday and pinched all the $1 peelie Qs off of the Right Guard Body Wash so instead of free after that peelie Q and $3 +Ups they would cost $.99 per bottle.  I wanted them free after Qs/+Ups to roll my +Ups that expire this week.  So I'll poke around for some more peelies elsewhere or just burn some +Ups this week on stuff like tp or trash bags since there is nothing else I really need/want at Rite-Aid right now.

Anybody get to Rite-Aid this week yet?

3 Rite-Aid Trips & SCR Period TOTAL RESULTS

I crammed 3 more trips to Rite-Aid in between Friday and Saturday night.

Mostly it was more free or almost free stuff after coupons, rain checks, rebates, 20% Wellness discount and +Up Rewards.....
The Dove 'Poo was .39¢ a bottle.
The Brown rice was .35¢ a bag.
The White rice was .19¢ a bag.
The Dixie plates were .99¢ a pack.
The Sierra Mist sodas were .46¢ each.
The Skittles candy was .45¢.
The Trident gum was .50¢
The Spin N' Span items, R-A coffee, Hormel chili were all free.
The Mortin PM, Precise Cream, Reach dental floss, Pilot pens,Gas-X, R-A toilet tissue and Benefiber  were better than free.

With the overages from coupons and/or +Up Rewards gotten back, a $4 off $20 coupon and putting $2.35 OOP on my free Rite-Aid gift card, I ended up paying ZERO on all this AND with $13 MORE in +Ups than when I started!

Since these deals are past I won't go into the nitty gritty unless someone asks me to post it.
I'm always willing to share the deals if there is interest.  ;-)

Food Outlet & Rite-Aid Shopping on Monday

I'm finally getting around to posting my Rite-Aid updates for the week.

Monday, Hubs and I went out shopping for those sweaters I mentioned before. We hit 3 Rite-Aids as well, per my request.lol

Rite-Aid #1--I got 1 bag of Rice, 1 bag of TGIF Snacks and 1 bag of BK Snacks. I know the BK Snacks aren't giving a $1 +Up back but #2 son likes that kind.
After using $3 +Up Rewards, total was .13¢ put on a gift card.
I received $2 +Up Rewards back.

Rite-Aid #3--I got 3 bags of TGIF Snacks & 1 Rite-Aid facial tissue(their sign said limit of 3). After using $2 +Up Rewards, total was .91¢ put on a gift card.
I received $3 +Up Rewards back.

The weird thing at this store was the cashier didn't even ring up the R-A facial tissue and no +Ups printed of course! I am guessing here, but with all the misinformation flying around on Monday about the limits on the free paper goods, management must have told them to keep track of how many they 'sold' but not ring it up since the register wasn't giving back the correct amount of +Ups? I bet they were tired of hearing the customers complain when the +Ups didn't print, so they just gave the stuff away.lol  I'm just guessing here....

At any rate, I was down $1 on one transaction, and up $1 on the other.

At Rite-Aid #2 I did a bit more buying.......

2 x Eco-Speakers 90% xmas clearance .59¢=$1.18
1 x R-A Coffee on sale=$1.99
5 x TGIF Snacks on sale .97¢=$4.85
4 x Hormel Chili on sale $1.25=$5.00

1 x $2/1 R-A Coffee Wellness IPQ=$2.00

I used $18 +Up Rewards and put $.74 on my free Rite-Aid Gift Card so Zero out of pocket.

I received $19 in +Up Rewards back(5 x $1 TGIF Snacks, 5 x $1 Hormel Chili, $1 R-A TP, 3 x $1 Rice, $5 Mouse), making this a $1 Moneymaker.

The coffee was free after my Q, the Chili was free after +Ups, the TGIF snacks were a .30¢ moneymaker and the TP was a .20¢ moneymaker after +Ups, I got paid $3.01 to buy the Mouse after +Ups, the rice was either .19¢ for reg. or .35¢ a bag for brown after +Ups and the speaker sets were 90% off.

******************

At the Food Outlet I bought packs of Mott's single serve applesauce for Hubs lunches for .59¢, cans of Whack Biscuits for .50¢, a large bottle of Blackstrap Molasses for $2.50, 2lb bag of Powdered Milk for $1.99, boxes of blue corn taco shells for .99¢.  I also picked up some impulse buys--a Mayan chocolate coffee drink powder for .99¢ and some Jasmine Tea for .99¢.
It wasn't a very fruitful trip to the Outlet but that's how it goes sometimes.

Rite-Aid Quickie.....

Yesterday was a mess around here!  We got some snow Tuesday night/early Wednesday so they closed the schools.  The poor doggies had to blaze a pathway to get their "business" done......

At least no school meant that I had captive shoveling volunteers for our way too long driveway!

Today, I had to haul my carcass up to the family doc's office to get some bloodwork slips for Daughter so I thought since the roads are good and the sun is shining today, I'd hop over to Rite-Aid.
After all....it has been FOUR DAYS since I was there last!

2 x Motrin PM(I love this stuff!) on sale $3=$6.00
2 x Fritos on sale $2.50($2.39 w/20% wellness discount)=$4.78
2 x Special K cereal on sale BOGO($4.79)=$4.79
2 x Fiber Plus cereal on sale BOGO($4.79)=$4.79

1 x $6/2 assort. OTC including Motrin PM IPQ HERE=$6.00
1 x BOGO Special K IPQ HERE=$4.79 *
2 x $1/1 Fiber Plus Cereal IPQ HERE=$2.00 **
Coupon Total.....$13.79

$20.36-$13.79=$6.57
I used $6 in +Ups and put the .57¢ on my free Rite-Aid gift card.
I received $9 back in +Ups(2 x $2 Motrin, 4 x $1 Cereals, $1 wyb2 Fritos)=$9, making this a $3 moneymaker.

*The coupon says max. value of $4.49 but the cashier insisted on writing it for $4.79.
**If you can find boxes of this cereal with the Try Me Free packaging you can get your money back using This FORM HERE when you submit the necessary paperwork.

Hopefully my coupons($6/2 ManuQ Mortin)arrive by Saturday's mail so I can get some more Mortin PM.  I was only able to print 2 IPQS for it since Hubs computer is "indisposed" and the kids won't let me use their machines to print computers dagnabbit!  The Qs are coming from Michigan and I am not hopeful the mail will get them here in time for this sale.  But Rite-Aid seems to run sales on this Motrin formula often so I am crossing my fingers there is another deal on it in the coming weeks.

When I was mucking out the place between the seats in my car earlier today I found ANOTHER receipt from Sunday's shopping rampage.  I totally forgot I had made a small transaction to test out whether the Barilla was giving 5 $1 +Ups before I bought more at my 1st store...duh!   I have updated the last Rite-Aid post Totals to reflect my spending/value of items/+Ups used/+Ups gained/etc. With the +Ups earned/used from that lost receipt, Sunday's rampage went from a $3 moneymaker to a $6 moneymaker...woohoo!   The photo and item count were correct.

Just an update for the week.....the extra Month long +Up for the Compleats has been withdrawn by the Manufacturer so if you buy it now, you'll only get the single $1 +Up.  This makes me think that next week when the Hormel Chili goes on sale, there will NOT be a double dip on the +Ups they produce.

And the Harvard Square pencils, erasers, rulers $2 wyb 2 items tags have been taken down in most, if not all stores, even though that deal was suppose to go until 1/22.

The Mid-Week Rite-Aid Report

Yah, I know everyone is sick to death of my Rite-Aid posts.
So I'll just do a quick show-and-tell summary from the last 4 trips.....lol

Wednesday morning....1st Day of the 4-Day Extravaganza.....
Those puzzles are some of the GREAT VALUE Toys that give a $2+Up Reward each.  They are regular retail of $.99, or $.89 w/wellness discount of 10% or $.79 w/wellness discount of 20%.
They are moneymakers no matter the discount or not.

The Advil pictured is $4.99 during the 4 Day Sale(ends on Sat.).  There was a $1/1 ManuQ sometime in the recent past set of inserts.  There is also a Video Values Q for $1 AND/OR a In-Ad $1 Q.
The regular sales ad says you get a $1 +Up Reward for buying the Advil AND during the 4-Day sale you also get a $3+Up Reward.
After Qs and +Ups the Advil is a moneymaker as well!

I was shocked to find any of this Sensitive Colgate Toothpaste on the shelves as late in the regular sale week as Wednesday.  Since it's on sale for $3.50 and each tube you buy gives you back a $3.50 +Up Reward, I assumed that all the stores would be cleaned out of it by Sunday evening!  Even without any Qs it's FREE after +Ups.
But I guess everyone is too busy this week shopping for gifts so at least for now, there is still Colgate on the shelves around here.  Has anyone found it still laying on the shelves in their stores?

Then we hit another store later that day while out running errands....

I am missing a 2 lt. of Mountain Dew and 2 x 20 oz. Sierra Mist Cranberry.
There is a BOGO Video Values Q.  Pair it with the $.55/1 Tearpad Qs that are hanging on the refrigerated cases doors in your store.  Plus the 20 oz. Sierra Mist Cranberry is on sale at Rite-Aid for $.99 bottle.  After 2 Qs and sale price, your 2 bottles together will cost you $.44.

These are the only 2 bags of nuts I have found this week.  If you can't find them either, be sure and get a raincheck....they should write it up as $2 a bag(because of the +Ups you won't get).  Pair your raincheck with the $1/1 Q online and you'll pay $1 a bag once they are back in stock.

Yet another store while out.....

They had the Great Value figurines as well as the puzzles.....this was at a store that usually doesn't have much or special things that some stores get in.  And no, I left puzzles and figurines on the shelf for others.
Again lots of the FREE toothpaste(after +Ups).  I used my raincheck for hash that expires soon. No the hash isn't expiring soon, the raincheck is.  I'm just too lazy to go back and fix that sentence.lol
A little free tape and 15¢ envelopes too....

This is too funny......I got 15 +Up Rewards for this purchase.....$36 in +Ups.
Here's the tape....well, most of the tape since I couldn't fit it all in the photo....
Yes, the chihuahua is reading it...or at least sniffing it.
She knows a great deal when she sees one!lol

And last night I was bored and Rite-Aid is open until 11pm for the next week, so I went up to wander around and give the cashier something to do.....lol....

Still Toothpaste left and Bic pens(that cost .18¢ for 2 packages after +Ups), envelopes and Advil.
No tape for 100 miles however and they said they got 3 whole rolls more on the last truck from the warehouse!lolol
That Almay make-up?.....it's a great deal this week!  40% off AND there is a $2 Almay Video Values Q(can't recall if it's a Dec. Q or was a Nov. Q?).  So regular price here for the cheapest Almay is $7.49.
With 40% sale it's $4.49 this week.  The Q makes it $2.49 PLUS there is a $2 SCR this month(#61), so after everything you pay $.49 OOP for it.
I picked this shadow for blue eyes up for Daughter to give to her friend for Christmas.....shhhh, don't tell her, ok? ;-)

What is Sluggy "Buying" at Rite-Aid This Week?

Maybe I should make that post heading "What is Sluggy Taking Home from Rite-Aid This Week?" instead.  Saying "BUYING" seems a little misleading to me. lol
Or maybe "What is Rite-Aid Giving Sluggy This Week?"
I just can't choose..... ;-)

Had to brave the bone-chilling cold and make a trip to Rite-Aid after dinner tonight.
And I finally got my Christmas tablecloth out too! 8-)

Received $10 in +Up Rewards(2 x $2 Pot of Gold, $4 Revlon wyb2, $1 Airborne, $1 Chloraseptic)
"Spent" 6+Ups, Got 10+Ups back=$4 moneymaker.

*It was a treasure hunt this evening trying to find these boxes of chocolates.  Supervisor said they were out and the truck is due in tomorrow(truck usually comes on Thurs/Fri.)and they might get more in(though I've heard reports that the warehouse is empty of this item already).  These boxes of Hershey's choccies are not a regularly stocked item, they are seasonal so I don't have much hope that there will be anymore showing up on store shelves.  If you find some, buy them!
I did find 2 boxes however that someone had hidden behind larger different brands of chocolates.  No doubt they were coming back later to buy them.hehehe

**I used 2 of the $3/1 emailed Wellness Qs, one for each bottle.  Some stores let you use 2, some don't so YMMV.

***This item was NOT in the sales flyer here this week but it IS on sale and giving a $1 +Ups and qualifies for SCR #82.  You can also buy the LOZENGES AND GET ANOTHER $2 SCR!  The lozenges are #81 and they are also on sale for $3.99 and giving the $1+Ups.  Limit of one of each type of Chloraseptic product.  I didn't realize both items had separate rebates until now.  I guess I'll be heading back to Rite-Aid later this week. ;-)

And the Colgate Toothpaste that's on sale this week and giving a $2 +Up?  My store is already out and it's only Monday!
Argggghhh

There isn't a whole lot I want this week from the sales flyer.  Maybe some more nail polish for Daughter's stocking(sshhhh, don't tell!!)  This week, as will be most weeks leading up to Christmas, the sales are all about gifts and seasonal stuff like lights, decorations, candy/food and gift sets.  I don't necessarily "need" any of that stuff.  None of my +Ups expire at the end of this week so don't have to roll any.  The +Ups you get this week(unless they are month or longer deals)will expire on 12/25.  Keep that in mind so you don't end up forgetting to roll them within the next 2 weeks.

I have managed to get to the $5 level with the Gift of Savings Promo.  Not because of how much(or rather how little)I've spent OOP.  But because I have found some receipts outside in the parking lot that were thrown away.

I call it my community anti-litter campaign.  I am simply beautifying my town and I'm starting with the parking lot by Rite-Aid. lolol
And if that doesn't get me anywhere, I am not above getting a tin cup and holding a sign down by the traffic light that says, "Will work for Rite-Aid receipts."

Rite-Aid & the Gift of Savings SUCKS!...NOVEMBER SCR Period TOTALS *Update*

So I didn't stand in any lines at the mall or the BBS(aka Big Box Stores) scooping up Christmas Deals this Weekend.
I did go to Rite-Aid.
Over.
And Over.
And Over Again.

Friday was the beginning of the qualifying period for the GIFT OF SAVINGS Promotion at Rite-Aid.
Like in years past, the GOS is when your purchases qualify you for a $5, $10 or $20 Gift Certificate, depending on your level of spending.  Just submit your receipts on the Rite-Aid website anytime you make a purchase between November 26th and December 24th.   This year the Certificates will be mailed electronically, not snail mailed as in years past, so you'll get it super quick!

If you spend between $25 and $50, you get a $5 Certificate.
If you spend between $50.01 and $100, you get a $10 Certificate.
If you spend over $100, you get a $20 Certificate.

As an added bonus this year, if at least $25 of your purchases during this time are spent on qualifying Photo Center items, you'll receive a Bonus $5 added to your Certificate, for a possible total of $25 when you buy over $100 in items.

This year though, you MUST use your WELLNESS CARD when you shop to qualify your purchases for the GOS program, so get a card if you don't have one and Happy Saving!

I had a feeling that Rite-Aid would bring back to GOS for the Holidays, so I have been saving up some FREE ITEM Coupons to use once the qualifying purchase period got here.  This is always a good thing to do if a store is holding special promotion where you qualify for rebates/discounts/etc. and the larger your purchase is the more you get.  I've held onto free item coupons to use during "Spend $X, get a Free Turkey" deals.  Buy the items that you have free item coupons for to get to $X and you will actually be out of pocket nothing(or alot less)that way and get your free turkey.  Some of the cereal, the Pringles, the Cottonelle wipes(even tho they weren't the ones on sale that gave the +Up Reward, they were still free with the free item Q)were all free.  The LSS Deodorant, the Tugaboos, the Vaseline, the Earbuds, the Got2B, the Hand Soap, the Cold Pack, the Toothpaste, the Toothbrushes, the Candy Bars and the M&Ms were all free or better than free after coupons and/or +Up Rewards.

*****UPDATE*****
Well I am so disappointed in the Gift of Savings Promotion this year!
Why you ask?
Because as I saw it reported on "For The Mommas" blog, that only what you actually "spend" counts toward your qualifying purchases.
I just submitted a receipt from Friday onto the Rite-Aid website and THEY TOOK OFF EVERY DISCOUNT/COUPON/WELLNESS CERTIFICATE I USED ON THE TRANSACTION!

I now have a whole .50¢ that I put on my gift card for that transaction toward a GOS certificate.
GOSH!....what a whole lot of nothing!lol

Since they seem to be disallowing all forms of payment toward this premium except for gift cards/cash/credit cards, I guess I won't be qualifying for a GOS this year.
Sigh............
*******************

The sales flyer at Rite-Aid this week was very good.
Add in that the 3 Day Thanksgiving Weekend special Sale was even better!
I did 7 (yes, Seven!)transactions in the last 2 days.
Here is the evidence.....one big group photo....

1 pack Cottonelle TP(It was all gone on Thurs. except this one!)
1 Cottonelle Wipes(not the one on sale, they were also gone)
10 Tugaboo Diaper Packs
2 M&Ms
6 Duracell Battery Packs
2 Colgate Toothpaste
2 Colgate Toothbrushes(BIL card)
1 Earbuds
2 Vaseline(also hard to find by Friday)
2 Dial Hand Soap
2 Gilette Razors

Photo +Ups & Nuts +Ups.....Rite-Aid Stuff

Since my Planters nuts coupons arrived Wednesday morning, I checked out the Rite-Aid over by the grocery store I needed to go to that day.

With the craziness of getting ready for Thanksgiving I didn't get a picture taken of this trip but I bought....

5 x Planters Nuts on sale $3.99=$19.95
2 x Band-Aid trial size $.79 w/wellness disc.=$1.58
1 x Purell Hand Sani. small size w/wellness disc.=$1.59
1 x Motrin PM on sale=$4.00
1 x Ace Cold Pack w/wellness disc.=$1.03
SubTotal....$28.15
Used $15.50 in Manu and IP coupons for a total of $12.65.

I used $12 in +Up Rewards and put the $.65 on my free Rite-Aid gift card.
I received $15 in +Up Rewards back for this purchase(5x$2Planters and the $5 WYB $15 in Planters)=$15 +Ups
In addition, I'll submit for SCR #81(Motrin PM)under BIL's account for a $2.00 cash rebate.

"Spent" $12, getting $17 back.

Then I ran out after dinner to scope out the Planters situation at my local store & to see if the +Ups Photo Frame deal was still printing on the lower priced items....

1 Planters Nut*rition--used $1/1 Q & $.50/1 Flu Booklet Q=$2.49
4 Kleenex--used $1/3 AdPerks/VV Q & $1/4 ManuQ=$1.96
2 Fiber Plus Bars--used 2x$2/1 IPQs=$1.00
4 Chow Mein Bowls--used $1/3 ManuQ=$3.00
2 Diaper trial packs(wellness disc.)= minus .42¢
2 Keychains(wellness disc.)=$4.78
1 Acrylic Frame(wellness disc.)=$1.99
1 Magnet Frame(wellness disc.)=$1.19
Used a $5 off $25 Q and $10 in +Up Rewards, put OOP $.99 on Rite-Aid gift card.

Suppose to receive $17 in +Ups($2 Planters, $1 Fiber Plus Bars, $2 Chow Mein Noodles, $12 Photo Frames), but the Frames +Ups didn't print.
Since all the pegs that these frames were displayed on had the Wellness +Ups tag that they gave $3+Ups per item on them, I called Corporate Customer Service.  If the shelves/pegs weren't tagged I wouldn't have bothered to call and make a case for the +Ups, but they were, so I did.lol  And since the tags were there(wrongly or rightly so)they said I was due the +Ups for buying the products.  So I'll be getting the +Up Rewards and I'm counting them in my totals for the month even though they have to be mailed and I can't spend them for awhile.

Spend $10 +Ups, getting $17 +Ups back.
