Just Some Rite-Aid Chatter

I went out on Wednesday to Rite-Aid.  I figure since the deals look not-so-great for the next 2 weeks I'd better spend/roll some more +Ups.

I got this on my wellness card......

2 x Listerine on sale $3.99=$7.98
1 x Colgate toothpaste on sale=$2.99
1 x Candy bar on sale=.67¢   Mmmm, dark chocolate......
SubTotal....$11.64

Coupons Used
2 x $1/1 Listerine Naturals Catalina Qs=$2.00 *
1 x $2/1 Colgate Enamel Health item ManuQ(Sunday inserts)=$2.00
Coupon Total.....$4.00

$11.64-$4.00=$7.64 + .03¢tax=$7.67

I used $7 in +Up Rewards and paid .67¢ OOP.
I received back $6 in +Up Rewards (2 x $3 Listerine)

Then I bought this stuff......

3 x Garnier Shampoo on sale BOGO50%=$10.77 **
2 x Cottonelle TP on sale $7.49=$14.98 ***
Subtotal.....$25.75

Coupons Used
2 x $1/1 Garnier IPQ=$2.00
1 x $2/1 Garnier IPQ=$2.00
1 x $1/1 Garnier Pure Clean VideoValuesQ=$1.00
1 x $2/1 Garnier Sleek and Shine R-A FacebookQ=$2.00
2 x $1/1 Cottonelle VideoValuesQ=$2.00
1 x $1/2 Cottonelle ManuQ(Sunday's inserts)=$1.00
Coupon Total.......$10.00

$25.75-$10.00=$15.75
I used $15 in +Up Rewards and paid .75¢ OOP.

I received back $5 in +Up Rewards(wyb $15 Garnier-I had $6.73 tracking on that deal coming into today).
I also got tracking of $14.98 on the Spend $20/Get $8 Kimberley/Clark Deal for buying the toilet paper.

*  I had 1 $1/1 Catalina Q that the machine spit out on Sunday when I bought this variety of Listerine and another $1/1 ManuQ tearpad Q from my dentist to use, but as soon as the Listerine got rang up ANOTHER $1/1 Listerin Naturals Q spit out of the catalina machine so I used that instead of the tearpad Q, as it was longer dated.
If you don't have a Listerine Q and you want to chance buying it and having a catalina Q spit out you can use, making it free after +Up Rewards received, be my guest.  Just make sure the cashier checks that the machine is turned on and working.
If it doesn't work out, you only spent .99¢ on a bottle of Listerine after +Up Rewards received so that's still a good deal.

**  With the Garnier since I bought 3 bottles and the deal was BOGO 50% off, 1 was reg. price, $4.49, 1 was half off at $2.24 and the third bottle got 10% discount is what this wellness card now has being at the Silver level.

***  I was going to buy a package of Scott TP as well to finish off this Kimberley/Clark Deal but the Qs for Scott I printed out didn't match up with the type of TP that was part of this deal.  I have a $1/1 Scott ManuQ from Sunday's inserts at HOME...ugh.....so I'll go back later today or Saturday to buy this and get my $8 in +Ups reward.

After I buy the package of Scott TP I'll have $27 in +Ups left and I won't have to roll/spend any again until 9/28 if I don't want to buy anything next week.
But I do already have a plan for next week's deals.

$1.42 more spent at Rite-Aid this week and $57.37 more in products brought home.
I am such a spendthrift. hehehe

Both my wellness card and son's card now have 850 points on them each.  Only 150 more to reach Gold and 20% off for the rest of this year and all of next year.(Except my card already gets 20% off from reaching 1000 pts. last year.)  I took son's card from 0 pts. to 850 in 6 transactions in 20 days, with under $3 in actual OOP spending.
Maybe for the rest of September I should put all spending on the BIL's card since it's only at 175 pts. for the year.  I need to sign this card up for triple points first however.
Going into the Holiday deals at Rite-Aid I know I can get another 150 points to Gold on both of the cards at this point.

I have to buy the Scott TP on son's card and then I'll switch to the BIL's card for the rest of September.
It would be crazy to have 3 cards in the family at Gold Level for next year. lolz

The Mid-Week Rite-Aid Report

Yah, I know everyone is sick to death of my Rite-Aid posts.
So I'll just do a quick show-and-tell summary from the last 4 trips.....lol

Wednesday morning....1st Day of the 4-Day Extravaganza.....
Those puzzles are some of the GREAT VALUE Toys that give a $2+Up Reward each.  They are regular retail of $.99, or $.89 w/wellness discount of 10% or $.79 w/wellness discount of 20%.
They are moneymakers no matter the discount or not.

The Advil pictured is $4.99 during the 4 Day Sale(ends on Sat.).  There was a $1/1 ManuQ sometime in the recent past set of inserts.  There is also a Video Values Q for $1 AND/OR a In-Ad $1 Q.
The regular sales ad says you get a $1 +Up Reward for buying the Advil AND during the 4-Day sale you also get a $3+Up Reward.
After Qs and +Ups the Advil is a moneymaker as well!

I was shocked to find any of this Sensitive Colgate Toothpaste on the shelves as late in the regular sale week as Wednesday.  Since it's on sale for $3.50 and each tube you buy gives you back a $3.50 +Up Reward, I assumed that all the stores would be cleaned out of it by Sunday evening!  Even without any Qs it's FREE after +Ups.
But I guess everyone is too busy this week shopping for gifts so at least for now, there is still Colgate on the shelves around here.  Has anyone found it still laying on the shelves in their stores?

Then we hit another store later that day while out running errands....

I am missing a 2 lt. of Mountain Dew and 2 x 20 oz. Sierra Mist Cranberry.
There is a BOGO Video Values Q.  Pair it with the $.55/1 Tearpad Qs that are hanging on the refrigerated cases doors in your store.  Plus the 20 oz. Sierra Mist Cranberry is on sale at Rite-Aid for $.99 bottle.  After 2 Qs and sale price, your 2 bottles together will cost you $.44.

These are the only 2 bags of nuts I have found this week.  If you can't find them either, be sure and get a raincheck....they should write it up as $2 a bag(because of the +Ups you won't get).  Pair your raincheck with the $1/1 Q online and you'll pay $1 a bag once they are back in stock.

Yet another store while out.....

They had the Great Value figurines as well as the puzzles.....this was at a store that usually doesn't have much or special things that some stores get in.  And no, I left puzzles and figurines on the shelf for others.
Again lots of the FREE toothpaste(after +Ups).  I used my raincheck for hash that expires soon. No the hash isn't expiring soon, the raincheck is.  I'm just too lazy to go back and fix that sentence.lol
A little free tape and 15¢ envelopes too....

This is too funny......I got 15 +Up Rewards for this purchase.....$36 in +Ups.
Here's the tape....well, most of the tape since I couldn't fit it all in the photo....
Yes, the chihuahua is reading it...or at least sniffing it.
She knows a great deal when she sees one!lol

And last night I was bored and Rite-Aid is open until 11pm for the next week, so I went up to wander around and give the cashier something to do.....lol....

Still Toothpaste left and Bic pens(that cost .18¢ for 2 packages after +Ups), envelopes and Advil.
No tape for 100 miles however and they said they got 3 whole rolls more on the last truck from the warehouse!lolol
That Almay make-up?.....it's a great deal this week!  40% off AND there is a $2 Almay Video Values Q(can't recall if it's a Dec. Q or was a Nov. Q?).  So regular price here for the cheapest Almay is $7.49.
With 40% sale it's $4.49 this week.  The Q makes it $2.49 PLUS there is a $2 SCR this month(#61), so after everything you pay $.49 OOP for it.
I picked this shadow for blue eyes up for Daughter to give to her friend for Christmas.....shhhh, don't tell her, ok? ;-)

Rite-Aid Wellness Discounts Information....Will You Look at That!

Look at what printed out on my receipt at Rite-Aid on Saturday.....
It's sort of fuzzy(thanks to my non-close up taking camera)but it says I get the 20% discount everyday not through the end of 2010....No No NO!....but through the end of 2011!

I had thought that once you earned the Gold Level discount it was valid through the calendar year in which it was earned.  The Manager of the Night at Rite-Aid tried to explain it to me, not quite understanding the reasoning behind it herself, that yes, you earn the 20% off level and keep it for the remainder of the year in which it's earned but, you get it for the following year too.  And during the 2nd year, Rite-Aid will begin tallying your spending toward the Gold level discount for the next year(2012).  If you spend enough in 2011 to reach the 20% discount level again, then your discount level will just roll over and there will be no interruption in your discount level.  But if next year, I don't spend enough to earn the 20% disc. for 2012, then at the end of 2011 I lose any discount and drop to zero spending and have to start accumulating points toward the discount from scratch.
Or at least that it how it sounded...

Now I have no clue what happens if you are at the Silver Level by the end of 2010(and got the 1 time 10% off certificate).  Do you keep at that level and build from there in 2011 or do you drop back down to zero because you didn't get to the highest discount level?

Maybe I'll have to email my Corporate "Mole" and find out, if anyone out there is interested. ;-)

I don't know if I can really sustain this level of shopping at Rite-Aid for another whole year.   It is draining sometimes....
But family here is flush with toothpaste, deodorant and body wash.  And as a bonus, the local food bank(which also takes HBA donations)will be thrilled next month when I show up and back up my car to the door.  I've got 4 boxes of items to take and there's still time and money on my gift card yet!lol

Ho ho ho!!
