Still not feeling like going back to Rite-Aid anytime soon.
Unless I find some more FREE ITEM Qs I need to use there.lol
I still have tons of HBA items left and haven't needed anything from Rite-Aid.
It's going to take something really great to get me back in there or running out of something.

On a bright note, I AM enjoying the break from Rite-Aid-ing!  It's nice to not have the stress of expiring +Ups to worry about. ;-)

A Rite-Aid Quickie......Last Saturday!

Hubs drove me up to Rite-Aid after we shut down the Stockpile Sale at noon on Saturday.
Here's what I spent my expiring $4 in +Up Rewards on....

No nit-icky breakdown 'cuz the sale week is over.
I had an old raincheck for the plates($1.97)so with the $2 in Qs, each package was .97¢.  The juice was $2 after the $1 wellness AdPerks/VV Q.
My total with cherry filler at .26¢(see it on the top of the juice bottle?lol) came to $4.20.  I used the $4 in +Ups and put the .20¢ on my Rite-Aid gift card.
Easy Peasy Lemon Squeezey!

Tuesday is the last day for the July Single Check Rebate Period and I 'might' get to Rite-Aid then so I won't close out the totals for July yet.

Sometimes Being an Inattentive Idiot Pays!...and Sometimes it Just Makes You an Idiot

First let me share my 1st trip to Weis Markets this week.
I took advantage of the Nestle Catalina Deal--Buy $30(reg. retail shelf not sale price)in select Nestle products & Get an $8 Catalina Q.
My teens love this stuff but I only buy it when it's part of a Cat Deal or at a great sale price.   This Catalina wasn't a great deal since I had no Qs to bring the cost down even more, but we deal with what we have to work with around here. ;-)

I got.....

1 Instant Coffee(for Hubs)
5 Nesquick Powder Mix
Total Reg. Shelf price was $31.74, the sale prices brought the total for this stuff to $27.94 and garnered me an $8 Cat Q.

I also bought....
3 x Burrito packs on sale for $3 each
2 x FreshExpress Salad on sale BOGO=$3.79 for both
1 x head of Lettuce on sale $1.99
My grand total for all came to $41.72...and I received that $8 Catalina Q.

The Savings was only 21% for this order but with that Cat to roll, the rest of my orders this week should improve in the savings percentage.

So I went back Tuesday evening and that's when I lost my mind and became a shopping idiot.
I picked up....

1 x Taster Choice instant coffee(again, for Hubs)
3 x Nesquick Powder
4 x Nesquick Liquid(turns out the liquid is a better value than the powder-sometimes it pays to actually read a label.lol)
Since I was chatting with the cashier I didn't figure out that I had picked up the WRONG SIZE COFFEE container until after she handed me the receipt.
UGH.
So off to Customer Service I trotted to explain that I bought the wrong coffee thing and my whole transaction got screwed up because of it and I needed it fixed so I could get my $8 Cat.  ;-)

Since they don't have a Catalina machine at the CS register(now THAT is stupid!), they couldn't just rering stuff and produce an $8 Cat instead of the $5 Cat I had gotten buying this stuff the first time.
The teenage CS gal was confused about what to do, so the manager got involved and he was even more confused....he wanted to refund me the cash I paid but NOT for the $8 Cat I had used and then have me rebuy everything(with the lower priced correct coffee item)back at the register....this would have had me pay that $8 again in more cash, cash that he wasn't going to give me back for the Cat.
Now y'all are all confused to, aren't you?

The solution was to return EVERYTHING, give me a refund(+ $8 to reuse in lieu of the Cat I had used that they didn't return)and go rebuy everything at the register.
Sounds like a colossal PITA but doable, right?

Except the CS register wouldn't let me return some items for what I had paid(the sale prices)...it insisted on giving me back reg. retail price on them.
Crazy, huh?
In the end the manager said just give her back the full reg. retail price for everything AND $8 for the $8 Cat I had used to pay.  And they also let me keep the $5 Cat the original transaction had generated.
So I spent $23.12 & an $8 Cat, then I got $34.02 cash back & a $5 Cat. so I gained $7.90-$2.90 cash and $5 in Cat. for doing the return.
I rebought everything(using the $5 free Cat)and paid $21.52 of the $34.02 they gave me back & got Another $8 Cat.
So I am OOP $10.62 for this transaction.
I should have paid $26.52 + $8 Cat for an OOP of $18.52.
Instead I paid $31.12 + $8 Cat for an OOP of $23.12.
Take $2.90 for the extra cash the return gave me from my final OOP and it's $15.62.
Then take the value of the 'free' $5 Cat off of my final OOP and I've spent $10.62 cash for this transaction.

Is everyone still with me here?lol

So I ended up getting a great deal on this transaction all because I was inattentive and picked up the wrong sized container.

But after wards, being an idiot didn't help my trip to Rite-Aid go as well.....

I went to pick up a prescription for #2 son, so I did a little shopping since I was there.

3 x Revlon Emery Boards @ 40% off=$3.03
1 x Revlon Crazy Shine Buffer @ 40% off=$2.09
1 x Breathe Right Strips $5.99 w/wellness discount=$4.79
Subtotal....$9.91

I was going to add a filler item so I could use $10 in +Ups but.....
I forgot to bring my stash of +Ups with me!!!
Double UGH!

And I didn't have time to run home and get them before the store closed.

So I used 1 $1 off any Purchase AdPerks/VV Q and a $5.99/1 R-A Breathe Right Q for a Q total of $6.99.
$9.91-$6.99=$2.92 + $.28 tax=$3.20 OOP
I had to put the whole amount on my free Rite-Aid gift card so Zero OOP.
I so disliked using so much money off my gift card.
It usually takes me a MONTH to go through $3.20 of gift card money.
bleh.

I did receive 2 x $4 +Ups wyb 2 Revlon Tools, so $8 in +Up Rewards.
The nail buffer also qualified for a $2 SCR #34.

I STILL can't believe I left the house without my +Ups......GAAAH!

I also had Hubs pick up 3 newspapers for me on Sunday at Rite-Aid since I was not up to leaving the house that day.  He followed directions well and added a small filler so I could use a $3 +Ups to pay, and put the .62¢ change on my Rite-Aid gift card.
And he KEPT the candy filler for himself!
The nerve of him.....
He was under great pressure to get this right after his trip to Lowe's on Saturday.

I just mention this newspaper acquiring trip since I need to include it in the Rite-Aid tallies below.

Wednesday at Rite-Aid....Just a Few Things

I have a ridiculous amount of +Up Rewards to roll by Feb.5th when they all expire.  This week's ad, for me at least, has little that I want/need beyond the trip I made on Monday to buy Fish Oil/CoQ10 and Lightbulbs.
This is making me nervous since after that trip I still had $132 in +Ups to roll.
Egads!
Thankfully next week Rite-Aid is LOUSY with GOOD DEALS for me!!!
I've already started plotting out what I am going to get.  There will be many many trips to Rite-Aid next week.

I went back this week and used a couple of rainchecks and coupons I had that were expiring and also got some more lightbulbs using BIL's card.....
 2 x Precise Cream  raincheck price $2=$4.00
3 x Light bulbs on sale $1.99=$5.97
2 x Milky Way Bars on sale 2/$1=$1.00
4 x R-A Soup on sale .69¢=$2.76
2 x Spic N' Span Cloths on clearance .50¢=$1.00
SubTotal.....$14.73

Coupons Used
1 x $6/2 Assorted McNeil items(Precise included) ManuQ=$6.00
1 x .50¢/2 Milky Way Bars IPQ from coupons dotcom=$.50
2 x $1/2 R-A Soup IPQ from pdf sent to me=$2.00
1 x $1/2 Spin N' Span items IPQ from coupons dotcom=$1.00
Coupon Total....$9.50

$14.73-$9.50=$5.23 OOP
I used 5 $1 +Up Rewards and put the .23¢ on my free Rite-Aid gift card.
I received back $5.97 in +Up Rewards(3 x $1.99)for the Light bulbs.

So I "rolled" $5 +Ups to the 2/12 expiration date.  I now have ONLY $127 in +Ups left to roll next week.lolol
Be sure and come back next week and what me go mad trying to roll these things without buying stuff we don't need/can't use! ;-)

3 Rite-Aid Trips & SCR Period TOTAL RESULTS

I crammed 3 more trips to Rite-Aid in between Friday and Saturday night.

Mostly it was more free or almost free stuff after coupons, rain checks, rebates, 20% Wellness discount and +Up Rewards.....
The Dove 'Poo was .39¢ a bottle.
The Brown rice was .35¢ a bag.
The White rice was .19¢ a bag.
The Dixie plates were .99¢ a pack.
The Sierra Mist sodas were .46¢ each.
The Skittles candy was .45¢.
The Trident gum was .50¢
The Spin N' Span items, R-A coffee, Hormel chili were all free.
The Mortin PM, Precise Cream, Reach dental floss, Pilot pens,Gas-X, R-A toilet tissue and Benefiber  were better than free.

With the overages from coupons and/or +Up Rewards gotten back, a $4 off $20 coupon and putting $2.35 OOP on my free Rite-Aid gift card, I ended up paying ZERO on all this AND with $13 MORE in +Ups than when I started!

Since these deals are past I won't go into the nitty gritty unless someone asks me to post it.
I'm always willing to share the deals if there is interest.  ;-)

Here are the numbers for these trips and the GRAND TOTALS for the January Single Check Rebate Period.

1st Rite-Aid Trips of 2011...1 Good, 1 Eh & Resolution Reward Total Problems

I have $47 in +Up Rewards expiring the end of this week.
There are a few things I wanted to pick up and I needed to get up there before the store got cleared of stock.

Oh, and the Christmas candy went to 75% off on Sunday too. ;-)

4 x Reese's PB Cups 75% clearance(.89)=$3.56  $1.56 for 4 bags after Qs
4 x Hershey's Miniatures 75% clearance (.89)=$3.56  $1.56 for 4 bags after Qs
1 x Gas-X Prevention on sale=$4.99  $1.01 moneymaker after Q and SCR
1 x Joint Juice on sale but wellness disc. was lower=$4.79  $.79 after Q, +Up and SCR
2 x Airwick i-Motion Kit BOGO sale($13.99)=$13.99  $3.03 moneymaker for all Airwick after Qs and +Ups
4 x Airwick Freshmatic Kit BOGO sale($9.99)=$19.98
SubTotal.....$50.87

Coupons Used
1 x $4 off $20 purchase(the Beauty AdPerks/VV Q)=$4.00
2 x $1/2 Reese's PB Cups AdPerks/VV Q=$2.00
2 x $1/2 Hershey's Miniatures AdPerks/VV Q=$2.00
1 x $4/1 Gas=X Prevention ManuQ=$4.00
1 x $1/1 Joint Juice IPQ=$1.00
2 x $3/1 Airwick i-Motion Kit ManuQ=$6.00
2 x $4/1 Airwick Freshmatic Kit IPQ(Manu website)=$8.00
2 x $2/1 Airwick Freshmatic Kit IPQ(Manu website)=$4.00
Coupons Used.....$31.00

$50.87-$31.00=$19.87
I used $19.00 in +Up Rewards and put the $.87 on my free Rite-Aid gift card so ZERO out of pocket.
I earned $20 in +Up Rewards($1 Joint Juice, 3 x $3 Airwick wyb $10 worth, $10 GE Lightbulbs/Airwick*).
I also qualified for $4 in SCRs...$2 for the Gas-X and $2 for the Joint Juice.
After +Ups and SCRs, this trip was a $5 moneymaker!

*The Airwick items double dip this week....you get the $3 wyb $10 worth this week as well as a month long(until 1/22)$10 +Up wyb GE products.  I am supposing that Airwick is owned by GE?
Be careful on the Airwick this week if you are buying it for BOTH the +Up Rewards and to qualify for the special $20+Up Reward(wyb $100 of BUY & SAVE labeled items).  One of the large Airwick Air Fresheners was part of both the Airwick $3 +Up deal and the Buy & Save special $20 +Up deal in my store....the $13.99 one.  The similar $12.99 Airwick Air Freshener kit was marked as part of the $3 Airwick + Up deal but did NOT have a Buy & Save tag, showing it was part of the $20 +Up promotion.
I could have had a $1 less total if I had bought the second one but I didn't want to chance that the shelf tags were correct and that the lower priced Kit didn't double dip.

BIL needed ink for his printer and I had +Ups to burn so I used his card to buy this.....

2 x HP Ink Cartridges on sale $14.99 but 20% wellness disc. $14.24=$28.48
1 x Candy 75% off $3.99=$.99
1 x Eco Speakers 75% off $5.99=$1.49  *The speaker housing is cardboard, not plastic!*
SubTotal...$30.96

Ok....sit down for this one.....
I used ZERO Coupons!
I paid with $30 in +Up Rewards.
After using those the tax came off the receipt(huh?)except for .03¢, so I put the $.99 left on my free Rite-Aid gift card.
I received $5 +Up Rewards for buying 2 ink cartridges in a single transaction.

Again, this $20 Resolution Reward thing is being screwy!!
BIL had $20 on his card's balance toward the $100 needed to earn the $20 +Ups.
The ink cartridges are a qualifying item, so he should have $28.48 more toward the reward.
$20+$28.48=$48.48 the last time I learned math, right?

So after this transaction, his balance toward the $100 is STILL SHOWING ONLY $20!
WTG!?!?
I think I'll be calling Corporate soon about this.....

Just be sure to watch your balances folks to make sure you get credit for the qualifying purchases you make!

THESE TRIPS

Finishing Up Rite-Aid Business from Last Week...Updated!

Last week was a blur of Rite-Aid activity here.
With the passing of the $5 off $25 Coupon on the 31st, I crammed a bunch of extra trips to Rite-Aid into my schedule.
Here's my lone trip on the 29th.....

The Benefiber are on SCR this month and the drink powder boxes also qualify.  After 20% wellness discount & the $4/1 IPQ it was/is $2.15.  Add in the $3 SCR and they pay YOU $.85 to take it home!
(Your store's base price on this item may vary from mine.)  And you can submit for 3 of this rebate per household too!

The Progresso Soups are a month long deal until Jan.22nd.  For every can you buy, you receive a $1+Up Rewards(when you use your wellness card).  They also count toward the $20+ Resolution Reward Promotion.  Too bad they aren't on sale this week, like they were last week when I bought them.  With any luck, they may go back on sale before the 22nd....cross your fingers!

Grand Total on this trip was $.52 OOP put on my free Rite-Aid gift card.   I used $5+Ups to pay and received $8+Ups back making this a $3 moneymaker.

And here is what I bought on 12/30 and 12/31.....
9 trips. * I bag of stuff disappeared in the garage.  I found it on Tuesday evening and have updated my totals accordingly.

I could let the $5 off $25 coupon go out with a whimper now, could I?lol
I also had some other $X of $XX coupons to use up....$3 off $15, $4 off $20, 20% one-time use discount, those $1 off any AdPerk/VV Qs, etc.

Not pictured are 2 boxes of Prevacid and 1 bottle of Rite-Aid brand Mucinex DM.

Out of Pocket Spending.....$3.19-put on my free Rite-Aid gift cards so ZERO out of pocket!
Retail Value.....$337.03
+Ups Used.....$56.00
+Ups Gained...$79.00
After the +Ups are figured in, I basically got paid $20 to take all this home. ;-)

I have $47 in +Up Rewards expiring the end of this week so I'll be heading back to Rite-Aid in the next or 2, so stay tuned to see what I'll bring home(hopefully for free!).lol

My Big Fat Greek, er....I Mean My Big Fat Rite-Aid Chart for 2010

This year I kept meticulous track of all my Rite-Aid spending.
Not so much in 2009.  I just didn't take the time to keep track as I went along last year so I made an extra effort to succeed at this task in 2010.
I sat down earlier today and tallied up all my monthly numbers to make a list of a whole year of Rite-Aid shopping-from the Jan. 2010 SCR Period to the Dec. 2010 SCR Period.
12 months of Rite-Aid purchases.

Two hours later I had a big honking chart. lol

Looking at this I can see that I started off the year with a goal of receiving a larger SCR check than cash I spent OOP to get to that rebate check.  Man, I sure thought that was great!

But as I earned free gift cards, I shifted the OOP spending onto those cards instead, which gave me less OOP spending, while still growing the rebate checks.  By mid-year(except for Aug. when I didn't have a gift card with me while on vacation), I had no OOP spending due to a combination of gift cards and +Up Rewards to use in payment.

Stalking the Wild Pistachio......

Off Christmas shopping yesterday down by the downtown Rite-Aid so I stopped in to see if the elusive Pistachios had found their way to that store.
Success!

I found 2 forlorn bags shoved on a bottom shelf over by the nuts and jerky.
No signage at all....that's probably why they still had them because nobody could find them in the store.
Even the employees I asked who were stocking shelves had no clue if they had them or what they looked like.lol

Rite-Aid & the Gift of Savings SUCKS!...NOVEMBER SCR Period TOTALS *Update*

So I didn't stand in any lines at the mall or the BBS(aka Big Box Stores) scooping up Christmas Deals this Weekend.
I did go to Rite-Aid.
Over.
And Over.
And Over Again.

Friday was the beginning of the qualifying period for the GIFT OF SAVINGS Promotion at Rite-Aid.
Like in years past, the GOS is when your purchases qualify you for a $5, $10 or $20 Gift Certificate, depending on your level of spending.  Just submit your receipts on the Rite-Aid website anytime you make a purchase between November 26th and December 24th.   This year the Certificates will be mailed electronically, not snail mailed as in years past, so you'll get it super quick!

If you spend between $25 and $50, you get a $5 Certificate.
If you spend between $50.01 and $100, you get a $10 Certificate.
If you spend over $100, you get a $20 Certificate.

As an added bonus this year, if at least $25 of your purchases during this time are spent on qualifying Photo Center items, you'll receive a Bonus $5 added to your Certificate, for a possible total of $25 when you buy over $100 in items.

This year though, you MUST use your WELLNESS CARD when you shop to qualify your purchases for the GOS program, so get a card if you don't have one and Happy Saving!

I had a feeling that Rite-Aid would bring back to GOS for the Holidays, so I have been saving up some FREE ITEM Coupons to use once the qualifying purchase period got here.  This is always a good thing to do if a store is holding special promotion where you qualify for rebates/discounts/etc. and the larger your purchase is the more you get.  I've held onto free item coupons to use during "Spend $X, get a Free Turkey" deals.  Buy the items that you have free item coupons for to get to $X and you will actually be out of pocket nothing(or alot less)that way and get your free turkey.  Some of the cereal, the Pringles, the Cottonelle wipes(even tho they weren't the ones on sale that gave the +Up Reward, they were still free with the free item Q)were all free.  The LSS Deodorant, the Tugaboos, the Vaseline, the Earbuds, the Got2B, the Hand Soap, the Cold Pack, the Toothpaste, the Toothbrushes, the Candy Bars and the M&Ms were all free or better than free after coupons and/or +Up Rewards.

*****UPDATE*****
Well I am so disappointed in the Gift of Savings Promotion this year!
Why you ask?
Because as I saw it reported on "For The Mommas" blog, that only what you actually "spend" counts toward your qualifying purchases.
I just submitted a receipt from Friday onto the Rite-Aid website and THEY TOOK OFF EVERY DISCOUNT/COUPON/WELLNESS CERTIFICATE I USED ON THE TRANSACTION!

I now have a whole .50¢ that I put on my gift card for that transaction toward a GOS certificate.
GOSH!....what a whole lot of nothing!lol

Since they seem to be disallowing all forms of payment toward this premium except for gift cards/cash/credit cards, I guess I won't be qualifying for a GOS this year.
Sigh............
*******************

The sales flyer at Rite-Aid this week was very good.
Add in that the 3 Day Thanksgiving Weekend special Sale was even better!
I did 7 (yes, Seven!)transactions in the last 2 days.
Here is the evidence.....one big group photo....

8 Planters Nuts(BIL card)
1 pack Cottonelle TP(It was all gone on Thurs. except this one!)
1 Cottonelle Wipes(not the one on sale, they were also gone)
10 Tugaboo Diaper Packs
2 M&Ms
6 Duracell Battery Packs
2 Colgate Toothpaste
2 Colgate Toothbrushes(BIL card)
1 Earbuds
2 Vaseline(also hard to find by Friday)
2 Dial Hand Soap
2 Gilette Razors
1 Noxema Razors
20 Candy Bars(10 me/10 BIL card...Who wouldn't take free chocolate?lol)
3 Cereal
1 Got2Be hair stuff
1 pack Reading Glasses(Only pack in store)
2 Lady Speed Stick Deo
2 Pringles
1 Ace Cold Pack
1 Olay Body Wash
1 Secret travel size Deo
2 Oreo Cookies
8 Ramen Noodles
*Not included in this photo are 7 12-packs of soda.*

I have qualified for the $20 GOS already and BIL card has qualified for the $10.

I 'lost' $2 in  the +Ups count this time but that's the price I pay for more TP.lol
And I keep forgetting to stack the $1/1 Hormel Compleats Q from the Flu Booklet w/my IPQ ManuQ....ugh.

**Ok, the Axe was Buy One Get One 1/2 off, so I should have gotten only $2.84 off with my BOGO Q.
But the register showed each Axe as being $4.55....I think that was the price with my 20% off wellness discount.  So the cashier took off $4.55 instead of $2.84 and I didn't catch it until I sat down to type this out now.  Rite-Aid owes me $3 in +Ups that I never got around to calling Corporate about from 3 weeks ago so I guess in the end it all evens out. ;-)

This was a very good week for +Ups rolling multiple Rewards.  Personally, I got 2 Axe, 8 Johnson & Johnson, 3 Listerine/Reach, 2 Maybelline Mascara, 2 Trident, 3 Oral-B/Crest, 2 Playtex and 1 each on the Edy's Ice Cream and Veet/Clearasil deals.  The only item I bought that didn't get an +Up that generated one this week was the 2nd Reach Toothbrush, so the limit on the Reach/Listerine was obviously 3.

So don't always believe when the sales flyer says limit 1 because, for now, it isn't always correct. ;-)

#2 son had a sleepover last night so I had to hit the grocery store for 'necessities' like chips, pepperoni for the pizzas I made them, milk, popcorn, to the tune of $12.20.  Add in the bag of healthy chips I wanted to try(I did have a coupon) and the bag of dog food for $1.99(again, with a coupon.lol)and the bill came to $16.42.

And a trip to Rite-Aid, probably the only one for this week's sales since we have packing and stuff to do before we leave for vacation.

I qualified for SCR#80 $2.99(Reach Toothbrush)=$2.99
The Reach Toothbrush, Colgate Paste and Reach Floss also qualify toward SCR #556, so I have $7.53 toward the $15 needed to earn a $5 Rite-Aid Gift Card.

I also earned +UPs in the amount of $8 for this transaction....2 x $1(Nivea), $1(Reach Tbrush), $3(Colgate), $2(J&J-StayFree).
Yes, each Nivea Body Wash triggered a separate +UP in the same transaction.

*Both the Nivea and the Reach IPQs beeped as the amount of the item was 1 cent below the coupon value. The cashier had to manually imput them into the register.
**The cashier insisted on marking the Ivory Soap Q for $3.00, even though I told her twice the soap only rang up $2.63 because of my Wellness discount.  Well you can't say I didn't try....lol

So $1.13 on gift card/oop and getting back $2.99 in rebates and $8 more in +UPs to spend.
It's a fine way to start the new SCR period for August.

So what do you have up on deck today?

Lots of Rite-Aid Stuff from Last Week....And FINAL JULY SCR Period NUMBERS

I made 6 trips to Rite-Aid between 7/21 & 7/24 that I didn't post about yet.....*I hang my head in shame....for 6 trips or is it for not posting about it yet?lol*

I had lots of $5 off $20 AdPerks Qs that were expiring on the 24th.  I also discovered a good deal using 2 of the Olay Qs from the P&G insert that is expiring on the 31st....the $4/1 Olay Total Effects and the Buy an Olay Total Effects Body Wash/Get an Ivory Product FREE(up to $3).

By using my 20% wellness discount at Rite-Aid, I could get the Total Effects Body Wash for between $4.23-$3.99(depending on which Rite-Aid I went to).  The Ivory Soap 4 packs were between $2.79 & $2.63 as well so I could get those free with the 2nd Q.  Meaning for every pair of items I bought I either paid .23¢ for both or got both free(again, depending on which store I went to).

2 x Olay Total Effects w/20% discount=$8.46
2 x Ivory Soap packs w/20% discount=$5.58
2 x Burger King Snacks on sale BOGO=$2.19

There was a $5 +Up reward on TwinLabs supplements last week & the energy drinks qualified so I got a $5 +UP Reward for every 2 products I bought.  The drinks cost $2.98 and gave back a $5 +UPs so I was ahead $2.02 for every pair of drinks(1 pair per transaction).

Next up we have....

2 x Ivory Soap 4 packs
2 x TwinLabs Energy Drinks
1 x Oral B Toothbrush on sale=$2.99

I earned $7 in +Ups but only the Revlon Lipstick one printed($4).
I have a full price rebate form for the Visine so after submitting for that I'll receive $5.83 back.

I realized during the week that the 8 pack Duracell, of which the stores did NOT have but had bonus 10 packs instead were NOT qualifying for the Duracell $10 SCR.  So instead of having $20+ spent in batteries I only had $4.99 at this point, with the rebate period ending on Saturday.  So we struck out on Saturday to do 3 transactions and get enough battery credits to qualify for the rebate.

Hubs did this transaction....

2 x Duracell 20+5 packs on sale $10=$20.00
2 x Almond Joy Bars on sale.50=$1.00

**My total should have been higher, as it looks like the cashier took off the full price of the Olay product($4.99)instead of the Ivory product($2.63).  So I got a serendipitous $2.36 extra off my purchases this time.
In addition.....I've spent over $30 in Olay/Pantene/Cover Girl/Secret, Venus products so I can send for the $10 off $30 rebate that runs until the end of Sept. HERE.

#2 & #3 Rite-Aid Trip this Week... Crazy Coupon Lady Drama!

So it was back to Rite-Aid Monday evening as I had to stop and gas up the SluggyMobile anyway.

1 x Zegerid on sale=$10.00
1 x Rembrandt Toothpaste w/Wellness Discount=$6.63
1 x Duracell Batteries(10 pack-8 pack w/bonus 2) w/Wellness Discount=$7.19
SubTotal...$23.82

**Ok, first off I didn't realize that the 8pack batteries w/the 2 bonus batteries wasn't going to ring up like the 8 packs advertised on sale for $4.99.  I didn't realize until after I gave the cashier all my coupons and paid the balance with my gift card.
It was suppose to be a SubTotal of $21.62, and I had a total of $21.00 in Qs to use, for a balance of $.62 to put on a gift card.
So when my balance was higher after handing over the Qs I added a Wellness/+Up I had, but the balance still seemed 'off'.

Used Coupons....
1 x $5 off $20 AdPerks Q=$5.00
1 x $3/1 Zegerid IPManuQ(from website)=$3.00
1 x $3/1 Zegerid In-Ad Q=$3.00
1 x $3/1 Zegerid AdPerks Q=$3.00
1 x $3/1 Rembrandt ManuQ=$3.00
1 x $3/1 Rembrandt AdPerks Q=$3.00
1 x $1/1 Duracell ManuQ=$1.00
1 x $1 +Up Reward=$2.00
Coupon Total...$23.00

$23.82-$23.00=$.82 OOP.

I did notice that I didn't get a $1 +Up Reward for the battery purchase before leaving the store, so I brought it to their attention.  That's when we all noticed that the batteries hadn't rung up for $4.99.
***So if your store has the Bonus packs of 10 batteries and not the regular 8 Packs, they will NOT trigger the +Up Reward!!***
I told the evening Manager that I wanted the pack that got the +Up so she went over and couldn't find any and then remembered that the warehouse had only shipped them the bonus 10 packs so there were no packs in the store that gave you the +Ups.

I wasn't too happy at that point.....and you have to keep crazy couponing customers who carry scissors in their purses happy so she said she'd let me return the $7.19 batteries and then re-ring them for the sale price of $4.99-the $1 +Up which it wouldn't give me, paying $3.99 and not getting the $1 +Up.  That was the same difference to me so I said ok!
So I got a price adjustment of $3.40 BACK in Cash(diff. between $7.19 & $3.99 w/tax) and kept my 10 pack batteries.

Sooooo, I went into the store and gave them .82¢ off my gift card and left with $3.40 in cash and 3 items.
Yes, it all makes sense because of the extra couponage I was able to use when I was charged $7.19 for the batteries but walking out with cash instead of my coupons back sounds soooooo awesome!lolol

This morning was the dreaded Orthodontist appointment for #2 son.  Afterwards, I drug him over to my other fav. Rite-Aid to do my 3rd shop for the week.

2 x Finesse Shampoo on sale $2.50=$5.00
2 x Garnier Shampoo on sale $3.00=$6.00
1 x Rembrandt Toothpaste($7.99)w/Wellness discount=$6.39
1 x Duracell Batteries 8pack on sale=$4.99
1 x Starbucks drink(to placate #2 son)$2.69 w/Wellness discount=$2.15
SubTotal...$24.53

OK, so this store didn't have any reg. 8 packs of batteries as well, only the 10 bonus packs.
Ugh....more battery drama!  Why can't I buy stuff without drama attached?lol

PLUS they had the batteries sale signage up on the battery hooks($4.99 + gives $1 +Up Reward).  And I waited for her to ring the batteries up and they again, rang up $7.19--reg. price with my Wellness discount price, not $4.99.
Soooo I brought the price problem to her attention before I handed over my coupons, and she called over the manager for a consult.  And there was no drama this time and I didn't need to put on my Crazy Coupon Lady face, as the Manager right away said to give them to me for $3.99(the price -the $1 +Up it should have generated).
So my transaction looked like this instead.....

2 x Finesse Shampoo on sale $2.50=$5.00
2 x Garnier Shampoo on sale $3.00=$6.00
1 x Rembrandt Toothpaste($7.99)w/Wellness discount=$6.39

#1 Rite-Aid Trip this Week....Here Comes that Crazy Coupon Lady!

I stopped by Rite-Aid when I took #2 son out for marching shoes this afternoon, since it was on the way and I had all my Qs ready.lol

I would have been in and out quickly since I had planned what I was getting but the line at the register was 9 people long!  It was around 1pm and the only cashier was the Manager-the one who I intimidate.
I know....you're thinking no way I intimidate her.  We had an 'incident' once and I have waaaay overcompensated for it by being overly nice/profusely apologetic if it's my bad/kind/accommodating/jovial/etc. every time I deal with her.  I'm like a manic/depressive on a manic high with her...happy and friendly but a touch on the border of lunatic.  I bet she thinks I am crazy and she doesn't want to be the one I go off on.....and it helps to know that they all know I carry a pair of scissors in my purse at all time.  lol

She also knows that I KNOW what I am doing and I am not shy about speaking up if things go badly and she KNOWS I am a regular caller to Corp. Customer Service.  I think all of that just makes her flustered any time she has to wait on me.  Hey, it sure beats being harrassed and snarled at by the employees, right?! lolol

Well, as expected the transaction flew off the tracks right away......I grabbed the wrong diapers, she forgot to scan the $5 off $20 first and had to redo the whole thing, then I came up short and she couldn't use a coupon so had to give me back a different coupon because the one she used but should have given back to me was a serialized AdPerks and was now "dead".....oh, it was bunches of all kinds of fun!!!
But we got through it and came out aok on the other side....and I never stopped smiling...once!   ;-)

And the Magnifying Glass was included in my order at the behest of #2 son and his friend who are paying me back, so I'll be $6.39 back as well.  It's the least they can do since I bought them each a Sobe drink and a candy bar(that's why they aren't pictured above).lol

As for Rite-Aid this week.....
There is not much I need that is a good deal but there are quite a few freebie or almost freebie opportunities this week.

The Duracell Batteries are a good buy if you use batteries.
8 count packs are $4.99 and if you can find the ones with $1 Peelies on them(or have the $1/1 Qs from the last P&G insert) AND there is a $10 SCR when you buy $20 worth of more, so do this....
Buy 5 packs for $24.95 and a very cheap filler item to put you over the $25 mark(like a candy bar on sale this week for .50¢). Total $25.45.
Then use 5 of the $1/1 Peelies, 1 of the $5 off $25 purchase Qs=$10.00 off.
$25.45-$10=$15.45 plus tax if applicable in your state.

Submit for SCR #10 for $10.
After the rebate you will have paid $5.45 for 40 batteries and a candy bar.

There are also 3 "regular" full purchase price SCRs available this week that will keep you "moving along", if you know what I mean.....plus a hemorrhoid med, what with all that sitting you'll be doing....lol
#14 CryoSTAT
#17 Colon aide
#18 Ducolax Balance
#23 Traditional Medicinals Smooth Move Tea

The Motrin PM is a good deal as well.  20ct. avg. $5.99 a bottle.
There is a $3 in-ad Q, which makes this $2.99 a bottle.
Stack a Manu. Q from today's paper $1/1 and pay $1.99, or stack the older Manu. Q that is $3/1 and get it free.  You also will get $2 in +Up Rewards for buying this product.
And if you have earned a Wellness discount your price starts at either $5.39 or $4.79 before coupons so even if you don't have both the $3/1 ManuQ & the in-Ad $3/1 Q, you still will do well here.

Finesse is a great deal this week.  It's on sale for $2.50 and if you buy 2 in a single purchase you get a $1 +Up Reward.  There is also a $1 SCR on the purchase of 1 bottle this month.  In addition, there is a rebate offer for Finesse in the 5/16SS coupon insert(up to $3).
So buy 2 Finesse for $5.
Used 2 of the $1/1 ManuQs, makes it $3.00
Get a $1 +Up Reward.
Submit for the SCR for $1.
Then mail in for the Finesse Rebate for $2.50.
After rebates you will get paid $.50 to buy 2 bottles & get a $1 +Up Reward to use!
As Adam Sandler might say, "Not too shabby!"

Then there is the Zegerid OTC.  With your wellness card it is $10 for a 14ct.
Use the In-Ad Q $3/1 and you pay $7.00.
Go watch the AdPerks video fo Zegerid and you can get another $3/1 Q there to stack.

One last thing.....don't forget that there are TWO MORE FREE $25 Gift Card when you transfer a Prescription to Rite-Aid Coupons in this week's R-A sales flyer!  They are good until July 31st so plenty of time to find an rx to transfer.  (Forget it though in NY or NJ(if you are under 60) as state law prohibits it.)
I found an older arthritis rx I needed to refill that I had at Kmart pharmacy and took it up to transfer on Thursday when I did my shopping at Rite-Aid.  $25 more in free credit to get stuff at Rite-Aid....woohoo!
