The craziest thing I did on vacation: I went to Atlanta (was living in PA) for a week, got a job and stayed 15 years! Michelle D.
ReplyDeleteFUN, fun, fun we had so much fun.
ReplyDeleteI had to think abou this, so Ithink Bonn Germany was actually the farthest we have travelled. The crziest hting was taking my then 13 year old, spur of the moment on a EuroStar for a Day trip form London to Paris-then getting caught in traffic becasue the Chinese President was in the city, and made it back to the train with 5 minutes to spare.
ReplyDeleteThe furthest i have travelled on vacation is to Rome, Italy. However, the craziest thing I did on vacation at the time was to eat fresh uni (sea urchin) that our tour guide (diver) brought up from the sea by the tour guide/diver on our tour boat in Acapulco. The most fun thing I ever did was to spend my honeymoon watching the sunset on the beach in Oahu and my very favorite place to go was driving the big island of Hawaii with my new husband, in one day in Hawaii. My one bucket list item is to go 1st class, the whole way, on a world-wide (cities I pick) trip.....

ReplyDeleteI live in Oklahoma and the farthest I have ever vacationed was Key West, Florida. The beach has always been my favorite spot to enjoy!!!
ReplyDeleteI think the farthest would be California. The first time was in a camper that my dad built on the the back of our pickup truck with my brother and sister.
ReplyDeleteI would like to visit Stonehenge on the Summer Solstice so I could walk close.
ReplyDeleteEven though I had been to Niagara Falls the year before, I insisted on going again because the water had been stopped. It was amazing and an historical event and sight to see the Falls dry.
ReplyDeleteI would like to drive the length of the Natchez Trace or be driven...lol.
ReplyDeleteThe farthest I've traveled was to Jamaica (7-day Western Caribbean cruise).

ReplyDeleteHa! This is wild, I was just reading to my kids about Mendenhall Glacier tonight! It's in our 1001 Natural Wonders to See Before You Die book!
ReplyDeleteI think the furthest I've gone for vacation was New Zealand. I went there when I lived in Singapore.
The first time we went to florida, I wanted to go to St. Augustine. We stayed on an island. I don't remember which island. We got there the week they were having a week long festival which we went to every night. The children had so much fun. Husband, not so much.

ReplyDeleteWe traveled to Alaska ( I am in Florida) for a cruise. Great fun, the the best excursion was the float plane trip to an out of the way campground to have a salmon dinner.
ReplyDeleteI went to Myrtle Beach 2 years ago at the invite of a friend. I flew by myself and only took a backpack with 9 items of clothing and a make up bag with the basics. I It was great!

We live in Vermont, took an old RV to Disney World. Camped in PA and a tornado came through the campground. Destroyed a brand new camper next to us. Then we ended up in NC during a hurricane and on to Fla in a second one. Long crazy vacation but we had fun. All of our kids and grandkids met us there.
ReplyDeleteActually, the whole thing was a little crazy. My husband surprised me with a retreat to Bosnia Heregovina. I had several months to prepare but there I was, less than a week before my trip, riding the subway in NYC to get an expedited passport. I was lucky it all worked out because this was early 2002. I am on the main email list
ReplyDeleteHusband and I went to cruise port with no tickets and got tickets to leave on cruise leaving that day while I’m vacation in Florida. This was before kids of course! jul1361@aol.com
