Frugal Friday.....on Saturday, the April 27th Edition(3 Weeks Worth)

There are a few Frugal wins over the past 3 weeks. I missed posting this on Friday due to technical difficulties(jet lag, etc.)....

*  Forgot to mention at the beginning of the month I found a spiral cut ham at Kroger on clearance.....

*  Made some friends on the ship(and a new person to play trivia with online).

Trivia buddies on the ship, not the one who invited me to an online trivia group.

*  We made good use of our drinks package.  I gave Kim a run for her money drinking diet Coke(actually Coke Zero as it's better), tried lots of mixed drinks, bourbon, as well as have a pint (or 5) of Guinness. lolz

*  I picked up some on sale(on offer)chocolate in Barcelona, Spain at a chocolatier and it made it home in my suitcase unscathed.  Mnnn, chocolate.

*  Here are all my shipboard prizes I won.........

1 t-shirt for dancing(LOL) at the sail away party
1 water bottle for winning a main stage game
2 decks of playing cards for various wins at trivia
3 tote bags 3 phone stands, 1 insulated wine glass, another deck of cards and another t-shirt chosen for turning all my signed activity cards (104 signatures)

I also got this kid's robot toy as part of the winning team at another main stage game.  I didn't want to carry this home(took up space in the luggage)so I went down to the "Splash Academy" and gave it to the Youth Staff to use as a prize for a game down there for the kids.

*  I also got these things for free.......

The earbuds and the Biscoff cookies were from two different flights.  The cruise memories keychain was something someone on the ship was giving out to folks and I happened to be in the right place at the right time to get one.  The Australia bracelet was found tucked into a deck sign near "The District" which was the beer pub on the ship.  We had A LOT of Aussies on this cruise and I made a few friends(a group who played Progressive Trivia like us, a lady named Grace, and a couple we sat next to at the Seafood restaurant among others).

*  We received a bottle of champagne because we were Gold Tier.  That got used on the last full day of the cruise.  We brought the bottle, 2 champagne flutes from our room and glass of OJ from one of the restaurants and made Mimosas for Breakfast while playing morning trivia. ;-))

*  We also got a free bag of laundry done by the ship housekeeping staff due to our tier level......

It came back washed, dried, ironing and presented in tissue paper placed in a wicker basket.
I thought of Sissie when I saw it. lol

*  We also received chocolates one day when we came back to the room......

And then a plate of cookies another day........

And then, after the Shore Excursion people f'ed up big time and screwed 5 busloads of cruisers out of their excursion, we found this in our room the next day......

They tasted pretty bad and left a bad taste in our mouths, but not as bad as the taste from them ruining our excursion and wasting our whole day. 8-(

We got a lot of food on the flight back from Rome....

I FINALLY got a Dr. Pepper(well I actually had THREE on the flight from Rome to Charlotte-it was looooong!)after going through withdrawal since the ship only had Coke Zero and no place we saw in Europe had a Dr. Pepper.  Those people are savages I tell ya, savages! ;-)

We got a proper meal(lunch or dinner, who's to say as we were traveling back in time heading home......

A tiny little snack of ice cream from the UK.  It needed more vanilla in it.

And a Monty's Bakehouse Pastry.  Think fancy Hot Pocket. lol

I found money!  Yes in Europe I find money. 8-)

In Dallas I found a penny at the airport, before heading to the hotel for the night.....

Then at various times on the cruise ship I went through the casino and found a .30¢ voucher and an .80¢ voucher abandoned in two different slot machines.(Didn't get a photo of the .80¢ one before cashing it out.)

That ticket turned into this at the cashier's booth and the ,80¢ voucher turned into more coins....

Then I found a .20 Euro coin in Portugal while buying a cork bag from a vendor.....

And another 2 x .10 Euro coins on the ship that someone dropped and left in the Atrium.....

Then in the airport in Rome we both found 5 Euro.  I saw it first but was riding in a wheelchair and the pusher didn't speak English so I couldn't get him to stop so I pointed it out with my cane the Hubs and he scooped it up.....

Then we found a quarter going through TSA in Charlotte.....

And we went out for pizza Thursday night as we got in after 4pm from Dallas and I found 2 pennies in the pizza place...

Total Found in the last 3 Weeks.... $1.38 & 5 Euro and .30 Euro

Grand Total Found this Year.......$4.07 & 5.30 Euros

That's all I got.

Frugal Friday.....the October 13th Edition on Saturday

Welcome to Frugal Friday!

There are a few Frugal wins this past week so here goes....

*  Grocery shopping this past week--
I hit Walmart for some stuff(can't remember what right now as I am in a drug induced fog.  8-)

*  As part of my Ibotta big bonus I was trying to finish,  I had to have 1 online purchase so I downloaded Ubereats.com and when through ibotta on Sunday to order dinner from Bob Evans restaurant here in Ohio.  Not only did I earn the $10 Ibotta bonus but I  got $25 off the food order(first order with Ubereats.com)and I earned another $10.35 on Ibotta.  I  used the stipend credit card the medical travel program provided to pay(meaning this food order cost $0 OOP)plus turned it into an Ibotta moneymaker of $20.35.  Nice.

*  I  also found a $5 in free Extra bucks  on my CVS account last week.  So bought 2 boxes of Special K cereal there as it was BOGO.  $6.29 OOP but I got $2 back on Ibotta for that purchase, making those cereals better than free!
.
*  At the surgery consult on Monday in Ohio it was recommended I have flexible gel packs for icing my wound so Hubs hiked up to CVS and bought 2 of those.  Again, using the travel stipend card to pay so no OOP.  And on  the receipt was $8 in Extra bucks so $8 free script but Hubs used it the next day to get a bottle of CVS branded Miralax so no getting to splurge on that $8. lol

The purchase as earned me .58 on my CVS card but I'm not sure if he used that too.

*  I found money!

Found this nickel under the self-checkout register I used at Walmart last Friday.

Then at the airport in Louisiana on Saturday I found a  penny under a bench.

Then at the airport in Charlotte I spied this dime near our gate under a row of seats.

Total Found in last Week.... .16¢
Total Found this Year.......$3.27

*  And the bestest thing was getting a knee replacement at no charge to me due to this travel program our insurance provided.  I've been suffering since 2018 with this bum knee so I am very grateful for the people involved who got me to this point.(Including all my friends and family who have cheered me on and listened to me bitch about stuff along the way).  You are all rock stars! 8-)))

That's all I got.

Blogging will be taking a backseat to getting me healed so there might not be many posts here for the foreseeable future.8-)

Frugal Friday on Saturday, July 22nd

Welcome to Frugal Friday!

There are very few Frugal wins this past week and not everything here would be considered frugal but here goes......

*  Being on this restrictive short term eating plan meant we spent very little at the grocery store this past week,  under $50.  The freezer is packed with food for Hubs to eat(that are not part of what I can consume right now), so as long as he remembers to thaw something, he eats. lol

*  Been cropping and renaming photo files and uploading videos to my You Tube channel.

* Saw a Neurologist(will wonders never cease?)this past week instead of in February.  Yay!  Got put on an Rx and this drug is FREE until I hit Medicare in January(as are all my meds).

*  Went to Physical Therapy for my back.   Basically did water aerobics in their pool.  No copays so again FREE.  I go back 2 x next week and the week after, and the week after, etc.

*  I found money!
Nope.  Nada. Zilch.

Total Found in last Week.... .00¢
Total Found this Year.......$2.49

That's all for this past week.  Just sitting home is frugal, right?

It's too damn hot here(triple digit heat indexes for weeks now!)so I rarely leave the house except to hobble to the car with a/c then to wherever I am going that also has a/c.  Can you say I am over Summer down here on Satan's front porch??

Frugal Friday....the March 31st Edition on Saturday

Welcome to Frugal Friday on Saturday!

There are so few Frugal wins this past week......

*  No grocery store trips.  Been eating out of the freezer, fridge and pantry or Hubs bought food out and brought it home.

*  No more home health or wound care copays nor going out anywhere else so that's frugal right?

*  I found money!

Last Friday we went out for a catfish dinner at lunch at a place next to a "casino" and a pawn shop.  I found a quarter in the ladies room.

Total Found in last Week.... .25¢
Total Found this Year.......$1.01

That's all for this past week.  See, I told you it was a slow week for frugal. ;-)

Frugal Friday.....the March 24th Edition on Saturday

Welcome to Frugal Friday on Saturday!

There are a few Frugal wins this past week......

*  I got released from wound care and home health so no more bills from that!

*  I don't "do" Ibotta all the time now(I just don't go to the store enough to do all the weekly, weekend and big bonuses).  But I do a few now and again.  On Wednesday my big wins at Kroger and Walmart were these.....

Both razors were free or better(one from Kroger was a $1.01 moneymaker and the one from Walmart was a .53¢ moneymaker).  The low dose aspirin was .49¢ after sales/coupons/Ibotta.

The Gatorade Fast Twitch drink(not pictured)was .43¢ after Ibotta and Fetch, and the Almond milk was $1.54 after Ibotta and sale price.  There was a Heinz Ibotta offer so the bottles of ketchup(also not pictured)were $1.79 each which was cheaper than the on sale Hunt's same size bottles at Kroger.

 I found money!

On Wednesday I found this dime at Kroger while waiting for a motorized cart.

Total Found in last Week.... .10¢
Total Found this Year....... .76¢

That's all for this past week.

Frugal Friday.....the December 2nd Edition on Saturday

Welcome to Frugal Friday on Saturday!

Not much for frugal wins lately.......

*  I felt sick so I headed to the Urgent Care and picked up drugs so I can get well.  Since I've hit my OOP this year on medical co-pays the doc and the drugs cost us nothing OOP.

*  On Black Friday the cruise line was having a BOGO cruiser sale so we called our consultant and booked a cruise for 2023 and one for 2024 for half the rates(if rates do up in the next year or two as they surely will it's an even better savings).  Means spending $$$ but for something we were going to do anyway so why not get all the savings we can on it?  We had bought the Cruise Next credits on our Dec. 2022 cruise so the deposits are covered and we don't have to pay anything else on them until at least mid January 2023.

*  I found NO money this past week!  I didn't go anywhere this past week.  Didn't spend any $$ so that's a win, right? ;-)

Total Found in last Week.... .00¢
Total Found This Year....$23.80

That's about all I've got for this past week.

Frugal Friday....the Birthday(Jan. 21st)Edition on January 22nd

First off, thanks to everyone who wished me a Happy Birthday or sent messages to cheer me out of the winter doldrums.  I swear with this cold weather I am feeling every one of my XXX years old. lolz  And here's to you, all you other January babies out there!

So here are a few of the frugal-ish things that happened here this past week.......

*   No food waste so far. ;-)  Not much cooking either and eating leftovers happened as always.

*  I used my free Birthday Burger coupon at Red Robin on Thursday.  I pulled what my daughter use to when we'd go out as a family; I got the most expensive one on the menu. lol  It sort of backfired on me though as it wasn't as good as the burger I usually get there. It was still yummy and FREE! ;-)

*  I did a couple of Rite-Aid transactions this week.......

Nothing OOP, earned $6 in Bonus Cash back and $7 in Ibotta(Oral B, Glide, Twist, 2 x Jergens).

*  I did a fair amount of Walmart this week too.

2 trips(2 different Walmarts)and some offers reset.  Missing from photo are a tin of Nivea men's cream,
a whole Perdue chicken, 3 Hallmark cards, Penetrex muscle reliever, 4 bags of Green Giant Riced/Spiraled veggies, a bottle of Fairlife milk and a Freschetta frozen pizza.

This week Ibotta has 5-6 free items if you sign up or have someone sign up under your referral code.  Mine is MKAAXA.  I haven't gotten any referrals so I only got the free pizza offer. 8-(

Anyway, I also bought a bag of shredded cheese at Weis(PMITA)Markets for $2.50 so my Grand Total Spent for Ibotta items was $79.02 after coupons and gift cards used.(The scanner gun at the last Walmart yesterday was broken so I couldn't use more gift cards from my phone.)
I earned back $63.44 in Ibotta rebates and bonuses for the week, making my OOP $15.58 after Ibotta.  I earned $9.48 on Coupons dotcom and Checkout51 making it $6.10 OOP.  I also earned .31¢ on Fetch, $3.40 on Shop Kick and $6.15 on Swag Bucks(but I don't count those until I cash out for gift cards).

I also found a few clearance deals at Walmart, $1 for Turkey Broth and 100 count boxes of tea bags, 2 bags of Smartfood and 2 Family size boxes of Cheerios(not pictured)for Hubs.

*   I found money!

Found this 12¢ at the entrance outside of my Rite-Aid on Monday.

Found this penny by the second register at my R-A on Wednesday.

Total Found in last Week...... .13¢
Total Found This Year......$1.83

It would be nice to crack the $2 mark for January but probably won't happen. ;-)

That's about all I've got for this week.

Any frugal wins in your neck of the woods?  Let's hear all about them!

And have a good weekend and stay warm!!

Frugal Friday....the May 28th Edition on Saturday

Here are the few frugal wins from this past week.......

*  We picked a contractor to renovate our main bathroom and he started this past week, 3 weeks earlier than expected.  I forgot to take before photos but here are some in process ones......

This has always been a dreary looking bathroom as it's on the North side of the house.

Tan everything with an oak vanity. bleh.

That's the bottom of part of the tub.

And one of the bathtub surround walls(on it's side)sitting in the hallway after removal.

Here's where the mirror/cabinet will go.  He had to enlarge the hole in the wall for it....

Here's the new vanity/sink sans faucet in the room but not installed yet....

The new tub in place.  We are still waiting on the tub surround to come in as the tub and walls have to be finished before he can do the floor.

Everything leaving is out and everything going in is here except the tub surround. The new floor will really help this all come together.  And he should be finished by next Friday, I can't wait!

The reason I am calling this reno frugal is because his bid was was less than the others.  He's a one man operation and doesn't have to pay a big crew and his quote included the cost of all the "appliances" while the other quotes were at least $2K MORE plus we had to pay for the sink/toilet/tub/mirror/lights/etc. too!  The only thing we'll need to do after it's finished is paint the walls in there.  If this goes well and we are pleased with the work we'll have him redo the powder room downstairs too.  At this point we aren't in a big hurry to get it done so a one man operation works for us plus Hubs can lend a hand if needed.

*  We finally had to ditch our deck swing.  It lasted a long time but rust and weather finally made it unusable.  We found a new one to replace it at Wayfair.

It came earlier in the week and we got it put together.  Nice and cheery color!

* I ordered from Rite-Aid online on Sunday.  They were offering $15 Bonus Cash when you spent $50 plus there were a $10 off code on an online order this week.

This came to $48.76 in Bonus Cash after discount code and digital coupons used and I earned $45 back in new BC.  Of course I made a few trips to local Rite-Aids to roll more BC this week and utilize that Spend $40/Get $10 off Coupon.

* Hubs and I went out for lunch at Applebee's this week.  Used a gift card to pay and I've still got a little left on it for half of a free lunch. lol

* I found money!

Two whole cents for the week.........

A penny at my Rite-Aid.

And another penny at the Clueless Rite-Aid. lol

And that's about it for this past week.  Except for working on getting ready for a Stockpile Sale, hopefully next weekend if the weather cooperates. ;-)

What frugal wins did y'all have lately?!
