Be A Goat & Other Random Silliness

Let's all "goat" for awhile. Ok?

Y'all be proud of me as I haven't set foot in a grocery store all week(so far).  I might hit the discount outlet Friday as I am going a little stir crazy and I am out of milk for my tea.
I didn't even do a pretty good Ibotta Bonus($5 on 15 rebates)this week as it would have meant going to Walmart to get that sucker done and the thought of Walmart during the first week of the month(EBT crowds)just had me say in my head, "Nah....I'm good."  I just don't want to be around random people right now.

I'm working on about 6 different blog posts but nothing is at the point where I feel it's presentable for public consumption.  This just popped into my head.......

I wonder how much that company had to pay Orson Welles to do those commercials.  I am sure it wasn't cheap(like the wine was). lol

I have so many projects(besides the blog)rattling around in my head it's not funny.  Ok, it  IS funny!  Maybe because the snow is FINALLY melting I can sense Spring is around the corner.  Of course after I wrote that I put Chester out and there are snow flurries again. argh!
I kept track and in February we had 5 WHOLE DAYS where it did NOT snow!  That's 23 days where it did snow....from flurries all the way to 18 inch days.  And it didn't warm up enough to melt anything until this past weekend so there are still piles around the yard.
We may not have gotten the usual 100 inches of snow per Winter like when we lived in the Poconos before here but it's been a hard Winter season anyway.

I got word that my only Aunt who got Covid and ended up in the hospital is now better and back home.  My cousin told me she was sick and going into the hospital early in Feb. and then I didn't hear anything for a long while(I figured no news was better than bad news, right?)so I finally messaged her again.  Her mom is out of the woods and recovering at home now which is great!  Auntie is 85, the same age as my mom would be if she was still alive.  Us Bowmans are tough old birds and it takes a lot to kill us off I suppose. 8-)))

And tell me what the hell is this and why?

This was at Rite-Aid for Halloween.  A skeleton with a mermaid tale.  WTF?! I guess the people who design this seasonal crap are running low on ideas.  No wonder they had multiples of this leftover once the Halloween stuff hit 75%....or was it 90%?, I can't remember.

Strawberries are starting to appear in the stores now(and not those tasteless out of season and overpriced ones).  I got 3 containers last week at the Produce Outlet for $1.99 each.  I think I'll eat the last one for lunch today.

I am so ready to go somewhere but still no Covid shot for me even though I am 1A due to health issues.  The set up in PA is ridiculous!  90% of places offering the shots don't even have a waiting list and the ones that do, their lists are so full they aren't even accepting folk onto the waiting list for an appointment.  I spend at least an hour every day having to check each individual vaccination site for an appointment slot.  It's so frustrating!  Even the health system I use is NOT vaccinating their patients.  It's a massive organization so all their vaccine is still dedicated to getting all their staff inoculated.  I am SOOL for the time being.
My PCP isn't advocating for me(and really if  you are a high risk patient your PCP should be advocating for you!)and the organization's website and my PCP constantly say there are no available appointments as they have no vaccine.  So I go to my specialist yesterday and she tells me no, they ARE vaccinating patients at a certain facility you just have to go to the website(but you go there and it's just a "sorry, no vaccine available" message).  It's maddening as you can't get a straight answer out of anyone!  And I really don't know if one hand knows what the other is doing....

Ok, I didn't mean to turn this into a rant so I'll stop now.
I'm off to go work on something easy...maybe I'll clean out my q envie as that won't take long and I'll feel like I accomplished something. lolz

What's going on in your world?

Stuff Lately

Just some random stuff going on to talk about today......

* We finally were able to ditch our landline phone bill(and the separate long distance access bill too).
We changed cell phone providers since ours had a black hole of no service here(so weird).  We got the first bill(ACK!)but there's start-up costs on that one.  The first "real" bill, this month, came in at $76.02.  It will vary slightly every month because(I don't know if this is just a state thing in PA or nationwide)but the cell company can change certain taxes and fees monthly.  It's such a racket though.

So far we are VERY pleased since the old carrier(that was a black hole of no service in our town)was $20 MORE a month for the same crappier service, plus we were paying for a landline(approx. $26 per mo.)and long distance service for that landline(approx. $9-$10 per mo.)too.  That added up to $132 every freaking month!!  So we are paying a little more than HALF that now.  8-)))))))

The best part about all this is no telemarketers ringing the landline all freaking day long annoying me.  I keep looking at the place in the kitchen where the phone was, looking for the blinking light on the answering machine which is no longer there.

*  I found something I liked.........

Got this on clearance last Fall.  It's a pecan pie granola and it's lovely in Greek yogurt.
Unfortunately I can't find it any longer as it is seasonal. *sad face*

* I get folks emailing me every now and again to ask if I want them to write guest posts for my blog or if they can put a link(advertise something they are selling)on my blog.  Some times these requests make no sense.
Recently someone wanted to hook up with me because of a blog post they saw that I wrote.  Her email title was, "Love your article about baby care!(And a proposal)"
This person/entity has a site that sells baby/child stuff and they wanted me to add their link to that "baby care" article I wrote and they would share that post with their social media followers to get me exposure and help my blog, of course. They also wrote an article about crying babies that they thought my visitors might appreciate and it would add value to my "amazing article"(their words not mine).
Yeah.
The blog post of mine they decided that I would be a good fit with them is one from Aug. of 2009(2009!)I wrote about how to score Johnson & Johnson baby products cheaply at Rite-Aid that particular week.
LOLZ

*  The Anonymous trolls seem to be out in force the last few weeks.  They just don't get that I delete ALL anonymous comments that no one is willing to sign their name to.
Haters gonna hate, whatcha gonna do?  Not post their verbal diarrhea, that's what!
Too bad my trolls aren't this adorable..... ;-)

* Another recent head scratching email I got was from an Ancestry dotcom member....someone I have no clue who it is.
Here's the entire message they wrote to me........"Who is this?"

W.T.F!
It's mind numbing sometimes how many people out there are left walking around unsupervised in life who shouldn't be.

* If you requested a copy of that book I read in January that I offered, it might be awhile before I get around to mailing them out.  I've got to find appropriate packaging materials to send them media mail because I am not paying for Priority rates on those and I am not paying for boxes either.  I'm a nice person but I'm frugal and I'm not THAT nice! ;-)

*  After Thursday's trip to Weis(PMITA)Markets and taking this photo of the paper goods aisle.........

I actually went back on Friday(well I had to get the freebie and a couple of one day only specials).  I peeked down that aisle and they had a bit of tp this time as the truck had come in and they had restocked the shelves.  The store here was nuts with panicky folks with overflowing carts of stuff.  I have been calling our Weis the "Zombie Apocalypse" store.
And they were buying the weirdest combinations of stuff in the carts I looked at.
One couple had 6 huge bags of potato chips, 8 gallon jugs of water, 6 12-packs of Diet Coke(and no, it wasn't Kim hehehe)and 8 jars of Heinz gravy.  ???  I almost asked them "why so much gravy?", because I have no filter. lolz

But the "Zombie Apocalypse" Weis was nothing compared to the Weis in the town West of here I went to which will now be known as the "Armageddon Weis".
First there were no shopping carts.  You had to follow someone out of the store, wait for them to unload their cart so you could take it into the store.

Not only was the paper goods aisle totally empty but the cleaning products aisle, the dairy/eggs case, people were hovering at the meat case(I think they were waiting for Corned Beef Briskets to be put out?) and even the self check-outs had lines 5 deep of folks waiting to pay(pus all the reg check-outs had even longer lines).  (Note-almost EVERYBODY in this area refuses to use self check-outs unless forced.  We have high percentage of elderly here who are set in their ways/won't change and/or believe that if they use a self check-out even once, folks will lose their jobs in that store.)

As I was walking back too my car I passed a woman unloading her groceries into her trunk.  I stopped and said, "That was so insane in there I think we all need to take a trip next door to the liquor store to recover."  She agreed and we both had a good laugh over it. ;-)

I tried to keep things light by handing out coupons from my pouch if  I saw someone had something in their cart to buy that I had a coupon for while I was in line.

*  And last month's Giveaway winner had Amazon send me a nice surprise gift........

A pack of dog butt fridge magnets. lololz
Now that I have them I don't know how I ever got along without them!
Nobody ever sends me anything...really.  Maybe it's because I'm such a despicable person like the trolls keep telling me. 8-P

So THANK YOU Jen/Dave, I AM enjoying some dog butts! *snort*

Ok, back to wiping stuff down(Ex-CB still has to go to work and he might bring germs home with him to us....musician types aren't known for being very tidy now are they?).

What's everyone else up to this weekend?

Random Stuff That Makes You Go "Huh?"

Just some random stuff in Sluggy's World not worth a whole post but still a tidbit(or should that be a "Timbit"?)worth mentioning.
It's stuff that riles me up or catches my eye or gets my brain humming.
I cleaned off my desk(Don't faint now!?!)and cleaned out the photos in my camera/phone and unearthed some gems so let's get to it!

*  The number of solicitations in the mail is still going strong for folks who want to get their hands on "managing" our retirement monies.

This one which came in a couple of months ago was addressed to me personally(although Hubs' name only is on all the work accounts that were set up).  This clown must have bought a list with our personal bank account info on it.
I now refer to these unsolicited offers as "The Sharks"(or you could refer to them as Vultures)......there is blood(money)in the water and they are circling for the kill(take your money in fees).  Just keep saying, "They only want what is best for me......". *snort*

* Back in September my Daughter and her Finacé sent out wedding invitations.

The one for Ex-College Boy arrived on September 14th I believe so 2 days after being mailed.
Here is when they were mailed, including the invite for Hubs and I...........

So guess how long it took our invite from being mailed/postmarked to when it arrived from Louisiana?

2 WEEKS!!  We got our invitation in the mail just barely before September ended.
There is a reason I refer to that state as "Lousyana". lolz
The good times are always rolling there and it gets in the way of conducting business in a normal time frame for most of the rest of the country. *snort*
But "Drive-Thru Frozen Dauqiris"?  They are the best at that! lolz

*  When I was going to go on Humira for my HS the company has an "Ambassador"(a nurse who works for the company)come to your house to talk to you about the drugs and to instruct you on how to inject yourself.  Having had a DVT back in 2013 and being on Coumadin then I knew already how to inject a drug into myself.  I got semi monthly allergy shots as a child so I am not squeamish about needles, so I was an easy patient for my "Ambassador".
Part of the Humira program(besides the card that takes my co-pay from $50 to $5(yah!)they provide you with a sharps container to properly dispose of the needles too.

On the lid of that container was this according of paper...........

You gotta love them for trying!lolz
Wouldn't feeling better physically be enough of a reward for giving yourself a shot of their drug?
No, you can only feel good about using this medication if you go spend money on yourself?
I just don't get it......

* And here's another fine tchotchke from the fine folks at the Bradford Exchange........

I don't care what you think of this POTUS and FLOTUS do you really need to shell out $129.99 + shipping and sales tax to have this 11 inch figurine sitting on a shelf gathering dust?
But it's a limited edition of 4 bazillion!!  Get one before they run out! 8-P
That $129.99 + shipping and sales tax IMHO could be better spent on so many other things............

* When Hubs and I went to the movies last, I found this on the changing table in my bathroom stall when I had to go potty myself(if potty works for the dogs as a term, it works for me)...........

Was this planted there just for me by some heavenly force?

Inside was a checklist of 17 items which could be the best basis for reaching Heaven.
Four I don't do now, but most I did as a child(and no longer do out of a religious obligation...some I do because I want to be a good, moral person).

I suppose the jury is still out on whether I'll go to Heaven(if there is a heaven.....there I go, questioning authority again!)

*  I was browsing around Kohl's last month trying to figure out how to spend that $5 in free money there and took a couple of pictures of useless crap...........

Doesn't everyone need a desk sign like this?
Usually folks who have one it means yes, it IS your problem, right? lolz

And they had this ginormous stuffed Sloth sitting in a ginormous gift box thing.  This was the best shot I could get taking a selfie with it.
I guess 2018 was the Year of the Llama but 2019 is the Year of the Sloth?
I wonder what unfashionable animal will be the Sales Mascot for 2020.........

*  And while cleaning out closets when we changed out/redid rooms this past Summer I found these........

The copy of the hospital charges when I had my Eldest son in 1991.
He cost $814.95.

My charges were $2,125.05.
This isn't what we paid, just the charges before insurance kicked in.

By comparison, 5 years later, my last child(Ex-CB)cost over $1,200 and my hospital charges for his birth were in excess of $8,400!
But then again, I had a C-section with him and we both had a 5 night vacation(hahaha)at the hospital too.

I guess that's all I have to say for now.
I probably won't post on Thursday as we have to go to Hershey(the town and Medical Center, not the amusement park)tomorrow for my HS clinic appointment.  Fun, fun.
So I'll be back on Friday.

Have a good Thursday......save some money, do something frugal and have some fun!

Stuff Lately

* I haven't left the house much lately.  I've been enjoying the cooler temps around here since last Friday though and not having the a/c running.  I need to pick tomatoes again today if the rain holds off too.

My hermit time will end tonight when  I go to Weis, use the $5 off Q, and get gas with my points(they expire Labor Day I think).

* We spent the weekend putting Hubs' room back together mostly(plus I've been working in the garage too).  He's dragging his ass a bit stopping to do other things so not everything is back where it needs to be and out of the way and still in my room or our bedroom.
I hope to have everything in the upstairs relocated and where it needs to be before this coming weekend is over.  Then I can share photos of it all.
Really, it's not that great of a change or a beautiful makeover or anything.  But I just want it done so I can move on to other issues.

* Tomorrow I go to the Chronic Pain Clinic.
Oh joy!

I need to stay out of ERs.  This last time was quite pricey, even with insurance because they ran a bunch of tests I didn't need.  I knew what was wrong with me but they had to rule out stuff in their minds because not being my doctor they don't know my history personally and gawd forbid they miss something, I die and they get sued. ;-)

I got two bills, the first one totaled $13,987.35 before insurance.

I added the second bill and it all came to $15,513.35 before insurance.
EEK!
And I had to pay just under $750 in co-pays. ick

And they didn't actually "do" anything to help me at the ER other than give me a valium(and the ER doc wouldn't write me a script for it either, just for a drug that didn't help and he KNEW it didn't help....so worthless).

So let's hope the CPC(Chronic Pain Clinic)is a little more helpful.  I suspect it will be A LOT less expensive than the ER. lolz

* I've almost gotten the garage cleaned up enough to hold a stockpile sale in September(depending on the weather).  I have filled the living room up with toiletries and a few yard sale type items.

Then after that happens I'll relist my diaper stash on the local tag sale site and start listing stuff on eBay for the Holiday season buying time.

*  I went and joined a Dave Ramsey group on Facebook.  Stupidest thing I ever did in hindsight!  I thought I could help some folks there with questions/issues about money and debt.  But really some of these folks are clueless and nothing but a good ass kicking will get them to see the light. lolz
This group is a bunch of prodigious posters and I have to scroll through so many posts to see anything not this group related.  As a wise woman once remarked......

* We have decided to drive to LA for Daughter's wedding instead of flying.  We ran the numbers and renting a car, gas, motels, food for the trip, extra days to kennel the dogs vs flying is cheaper than plane tickets and cabs/Uber to and from airports, etc.  The only problem may be weather in early January on our end(and would also be a problem if we fly out of and into PA).  It will be a mad dash halfway across the country and then back in the middle of Winter.
Oh fun.

* Our wedding anniversary is tomorrow, Wednesday.  37 years married.....where does the time go? ;-)

Hubs actually had HAIR back then and I had a very very bad perm. lolz

Random Things Lately

Here's a post about my thoughts on random ideas floating around in my head and comments on photos on my camera roll.
There might be a gem or two among them all or not, you decide.  ;-)

* Janie asked about Gouverneer Morris and the use of a whalebone as a catheter--if that was a common homemade remedy at that time.
Though I am no expert on Colonial era medicine(such that it was)I suspect that among learned circles at that time, this may have been a known possible course to clear a blocked urethra in a man.  To me, the thought of inserting a hollow bone(no matter how slim)into my penis just makes me shudder and I'd say it would also affect most men in the same way too.  But in the days before surgical cures for internal distress this might have been looked upon as a last resort of treatment.  Maybe.....

But, I suspect that there was a lot of DYI surgery and medical treatments going on during Morris' era.  Firstly, just finding a "doctor" in America may have been difficult depending on your location.  Morris may have had access to one being as he was in a settled area but if you were beyond the coastal regions in what would be termed a "wilderness" area you were on your own.

And if you know anything about the history of the practice of applied medicine you know that "modern" medicine only dates back to barely a couple of centuries beyond our current time.  The practice of medicine is barely out of it's infancy in many ways in 2019.  The book I read on The Spanish Flu pandemic of 1918-1919 was eye opening in this regard.  Also my visit to the Apothecary Shop of Dr. Hugh Mercer who practiced his craft in the mid 1700's in Fredericksburg Virginia pre-Revolutionary War was enlightening.
Remember that back in these American Colonial times doctors were treating people with leeches and bleeding as a way to restore the four humors in the body and a doctor was responsible for killing George Washington in this way.

* I took this photo of the box one of my pieces of luggage I recently purchased came in............

It reads, "CAUTION: DO NOT WITH SHARP INSTRUMENT".
My reply, "I CAN'T EVEN!"

*  Here's an item I noticed in Rite-Aid last month when I got paid to take all those ELF brushes home...........

Clear Mascara.
I had never even heard of clear mascara before seeing this.  Why would anyone other than someone who was an Albino use clear mascara?? lolz  Well I googled it and there are uses for it, though making your lashes appear longer, the obvious use for mascara, isn't one of them.
Just proves you can learn something new every day.

*  And speaking of drugstores............
I've been having to peruse the CVS ads seeing as I still have ECBs to use.  I hate CVS ads!  It's so difficult to figure out a scenario to do a deal using their weekly ads because nothing is organized in a way to make sense.  My brain spins like a loading internet page that refuses to complete looking at their ads.
And this makes me insane too.........
When they have a Deal where you have to buy 3 items to get the ECBs but the sale is a BOGO50% off.  I can handle this at Rite-Aid since on the third item I'd get a 20% Wellness discount but not at CVS.  I'd have to buy 4 to get 50% off 2 of the items but pay full price for the other 2 and I am buying ONE MORE THAN I NEED TO TO DO THIS DEAL which means I am spending WAAAAY too much money on this!
It just makes me gnash my teeth.

*  And speaking of CVS I started watching this Vlogger as she does a CVS deals rundown since I still have ECBs to use.  I noticed that she looks and sounds like someone I've met!

At least to me, the "Savvy Coupon Shopper" is pretty much a doppelganger for SAM the blogger. lolz

*  I thought this was cute.  It was the paper on the sample size ice cream cones DQ gave out for free back in March while we were on vacation...........

"I am a Coneacopia of Happiness."

*  The Rhododendron bush is finally in bloom.  Too bad it waited until after Daughter's graduation to blossom fully.

*  I am so OVER selling locally on the FaceBook sites here.  Ok, let me rephrase that...I am so over dealing with the people who also use that selling sites to buy.

Can someone please just tell me one thing..........What is wrong with people???

My ads are very brief  and to the point, but include all the pertinent information needed.
I have been selling diapers and pull-ups of which I have various sizes.  I state what I have, what sizes, how many I have, the price and where I will meet.  I also say I update the post as soon as something is PENDING or SOLD and remove it if sold.

Invariably someone will message me and ask, "Is this available?"  That's it.  Well, I can't tell you if "IT" is available if I don't know what "IT" you are interested in buying! lolz  Let me just state for the record that this is maddening!!!

I also had someone ask me, "Until when is the size XX pending".  I said, "Until they pay me."  Right?  This bitch flipped out on me and called me a few choice words such that I had to block her. lol

Then I had the one who messaged me in SPANISH?!  What do I do with that?  OMG, I don't speak Spanish. lolz
Someone writes an ad in English please reply to it in English.....this is NE PA not San Diego CA.  If you read it(in English)you must understand some English so respond in English even if it's broke and I can work with you.  That's just common courtesy.

But the best one is the one who was going to meet me just off the interstate exit, 5 miles from my house, as they were passing by on the interstate down to go camping south of here on Friday and gave me a window of between 4 and 4:30 pm.  So I asked her to text when it got close to the time whether she was going to be there closer to 4 or 4:30 as I didn't want to be sitting for 30+ waiting on her, which was agreeable to her.

So I load up the car with her pull-ups, turned on the car and at 3:45 I sent her a text asking if she was going to be there at 4 or later before I actually drove to the meet-up spt.

I get this reply, "Wont be that way til tomorrow".

No "I'm sorry", no details on when tomorrow or anything else, etc.
And would she have even texted me she wasn't coming today if I hadn't asked first?!?  So rude.

So I replied, "If you want them tomorrow you'll have to come to my house.  It's 5 miles off the exit. LMK".
Of course I didn't hear back from her, not that I'd have responded if she had. lolz

And to piss me off worse, her Avatar or whatever you call her photo on Facebook is a selfie with mouse ears on it.
Grow up people!

*  Hubs and I went to the Amish Grocery Outlet recently.  It's fun to poke around in there as you find interesting food items sometimes.

I had to pose with this pickle item because well, I AM a Hot Mama. teehee

And Hubs found this can of brains.....pork brains to be specific and with milk gravy.
Um, no thank you.
My mother would have been all over this item putting it into a plate of scrambled eggs.  She actually did this on one occasion without letting us know of the "secret ingredient".  meh.

*  The POD people came and took away Daughter's pod.............

When we dug out the boxes in the closet in her bedroom we found this though and it doesn't belong to us............

A box of electronics that belong to the FiancĂ©.  So we told them what was in there and they want some of it and want me to ship it to them.  I am uncomfortable shipping electronics not in their original boxes(I have used shipping companies for years as an eBay seller and I know the horrors. lol).  I figure we can just bring it with us when we go there in January for the wedding, right?  The financĂ© lived without this stuff for 2.5 years(how long ago he left here)he can wait another few months for it.

*  I was out relaxing on the deck and was looking at this pine tree in the yard.........

This massive pine tree was just a twig(I was taller than it)when we moved in almost 19 years ago.  Just guesstimating now it's got to be 30 foot tall and the branches make it 20 foot wide.
I was just staring at it this past weekend and noticed that it was "giving me the finger".

All these new shoots growing on the ends of the branches look like middle finger salutes!
Am I crazy or do y'all see it too?? lolz

Anything interesting going on in your life lately?

Random Stuff from Sluggy

*  A personal loan offer......again!

I am forever receiving stuff like this.  Personal loan offers to pay off my credit card debt.
Umm, don't these folks ever look at my credit report first?  If they did they'd know that I don't have credit card debt and haven't had any since the early 1990s. lolz
I use credit cards but responsibly.....and pay off the balance before the end of each billing cycle.
The interest rate on these loans range from 5.99% to 28.99%.  I could see if you have a c/c balance with a higher interest rate transferring your debt to this but that person ain't me! 8-))

*  Some more crap you can buy if you have more money than you can spend.............

A gold plated musical porcelain box that says, "My Granddaughter I Love You With All my Heart".
Actual size is 4"L x 3.5"W x 1.75"H.  Also adorned with 5 sparkling "jewels".
For the bargain price of $59.95 + $9.99 shipping plus sales tax for your state this can be yours.
Yeah.  This fine offering is from the ubiquitous Bradford Exchange.
I'd say a much better way to say I love you to your grand kids is to take that $59.99 + $9.99 and sales tax and buy them a Savings Bond or invest it into a 529 Plan so they can someday go to college.  There are much better ways to honor your progeny than wasting $$ on crappy trinkets.

*  I got a few goodies this week at Rite-Aid.  The Valentine's candy was 75% off.....

Lots of goodies to stick into giveaway boxes....woohoo!

*  Speaking of Valentine's Day, here are the flowers Daughter got from her FiancĂ©......

Sort of droppy at this point(Vday was almost a week ago)but pretty white and pink tulips.

*  I also found this 75% off at Ollie's"Good Stuff Cheap!" last week..........

An entire box of King Size Oreo bars for under $2.00.

*  Here's a photo I took of the Full Snow Moon the night we took Ex-College Boy out for his Birthday Dinner.......

Sort of foggy out that night and the photo didn't do it justice on my phone.

*  Here's what we got the next morning..........

More snow and sleet and then freezing rain. STill digging out today.  bleh.  It's suppose to get close to 50F later today and then mid 55'sF on Sunday.
Crazy Winter.

*  Also from our friends at the Bradford Exchange, a Playful Pup necklace........

A sterling silver-plated pendant, from your choice of 30 dog breeds, hand painted enamel puppy with movable legs and tail(actual size of dog is about 1/2 inch).  Also on the included 18" silver-plated chain is a silver plated heart charm engraved with "I Love My(name of breed)" along with a "genuine diamond".
For the low price of $79(payable in 4 installments of $19.75)plus $9.98 shipping and sales tax this can be yours! ;-)

Have I mentioned yet how much I DESPITE getting these leaflets urging me to buy crap like this anytime I buy ANYTHING online?!?!?

*  And lastly I found this photo of someone we all know and love...........

The person in question is pictured on the left in this very very very old photograph. *snort*

Oh, she is going to hate me for this......

Any guesses? ;-)

Little Stuff Not Worth a Whole Post

Just some stuff rattling around in my head, in my drafts and on my camera that's not worth a whole post by itself but swirl them all together and you come up with a big ball of randomness.

*  This chocolate bar was seen at Bob Evans.........

Pigs N' Taters-milk chocolate with crispy bacon flavored bits and potato chips
Have you ever seen or had this candy bar?
Would you eat it?

*  Here's an image from an actual form in an admission book for an old soldier's home that I came across while doing some genealogy research.............

"Insane Persons And Habitual Drunkards Will Not Be Admitted Under Any Circumstances."
I guess I am shit out of luck when I get too old to take care of myself and need to go to the home. ;-)

*  Another product seen at Ollie's..........

"Fancy" oatmeal.  Under the name "Miller's Batch" which is really just Quaker Oats Company.
From their website...."Expertly milled and flaked to perfection, our organic oats are sourced from a single farm in the golden prairies of Saskatchewan, home to some of the best quality oats in the world...."
The label is all fancy with a serial number or something.
Sort of reminds me of a Portlandia episode.........

*  After we went out to eat for Eldest son's birthday Hubs let me hit two Rite-Aids I don't frequent.
I found the double dipping candy bags so I rolled $6 in Bonus Cash on two of my Wellness cards.....

*  I saw this on FB and thought I should send it to Hubs since his Masters is in Medieval Literature.......

5-You don't know or care who Blondel is sleeping with.
6-You tell your wife that Crusaders seem to look younger every year.
7-You struggle with new technology such as the heavy plough and the longbow.
8-You find Gothic architecture too modern.

*  This product was found at the grocery outlet I go to sometimes........

It's a breakfast sandwich of two waffles with southern style pulled pork, egg and cheese inside.  Sort of a play on a McGriddle but with a different pork rather than bacon or sausage inside.
I bought a box, it was rather cheap.  The consensus here was "meh".  Pulled pork needs sauce but bbq sauce isn't a friend to eggs and cheese.
Would you try this?

*  While noodling around in my genealogy I found I am cousins with this guy you may know of.........

We are 9th cousins 1 x removed through our shared Huguenot ancestry.  We share Abraham Soblet(Sublett)and Susanne Briant-my 7th GreatGrands and Tim's 8th GreatGrands.  Their children, Pierre Louis Soblet and Anne Soblet were siblings and are our respective direct ancestors.

We are both related to Joan Crawford, Jessica Chastain, Brandi Chastain, the Everly Brothers, etc. through this line too.

Ok, that's it for another jaunt around Sluggy's brain.  It stopped raining for awhile so I am heading out to the garden to find any veggies that need picking.

What odds things have you done, read or seen lately?
Any strange facts you want to tell us about?
