Rite-Aid Coupon Changes.....HEADS UP!

If you are a Rite-Aid shopper who utilizes all the various coupons, programs, rewards they offer, you NEED  to read this!

Rite-Aid has changed up the game.
Those AdPerks/Value Videos you watch to earn coupons?
About the Bonus $5 off $20 Purchase AdPerks Coupon.....don't bother printing that one more than once per month anymore.
Rite-Aid has changed that coupon.  Now it is linked to your Wellness Card and has a unique serial number on each one that can be tracked when it is used.
Once you use it, that's it.  You can't print multiples and use them. 1 of this coupon per account.  The registers are now programmed at Rite-Aid to give a message to the cashier that this coupon has been redeemed already if you try to use it more than once.

For now, all the other AdPerks/Value Video Coupons are NOT this way, with a trackable unique serial number.  In case you never noticed before these AdPerks/VV coupon serial numbers all end in the date of expiration.....ie--the ones that expire June 30th end in 63010, the ones that are set to expire July 24th end in 72410.

Reports are that if you printed out your Bonus $5 off $20 coupon that expires 7/24/10 earlier this month there is NO unique serial number.  Rite-Aid made the change sometime during June so the early birds will be able to use all their prints.

While this sure throws a monkey wrench into all the die-hard Rite-Aid shoppers plans(not to mention the dread that blackened their hearts) this is NOT the end of the Rite-Aid Shopping World dear readers!

First off, if you have a Wellness card/account, your spouse or SO can also apply/get an account and set up their own AdPerks viewing account.  By doing this, you go from access to 1 Bonus $5 off $20 Purchase coupon to 2 per month.

The last couple of months, there have been 2 $5 off $X Purchase coupons available in the AdPerks program.  The Bonus $5 off $20 as well as a $5 off $25 when you watch the Wellness video.
So now you are up to 4 $5 off $X Purchase coupons.

Often Rite-Aid will release a $5 off $X Purchase coupon through REDPLUM &/or COUPONS dotcom.
You can print these coupons generally twice per computer, so that give you potential for 4 more $5 off $X coupons per month if you have access to 1 computer/printer set-up and both sites offer it in that month.
If you have multiple computers accessible to you, count on 2 more of this coupon per month when offered.

And though they haven't offered a PDF $5 off $X Purchase this year, Rite-Aid has in the past and there is always hope that they offer that again.

So while you will have to be more resourceful in the future finding these $5 off $X Purchase coupons, they are still a viable option.

April Rite-Aid SCR Period Spending and TOTALS & Rite-Aid Chit-Chat

I just went through all my receipts from Rite-Aid.
I did not shop a lot in April so I only made 6 trips between 3/28 & 4/24th,  and spent $.00 in cash for the April Single Check Rebate Period of March 28th to April 24th.
Actually I "spent" $6.89.

But all of what I spent was put on assorted Gift Cards, so my Out of Pocket was ZERO.

These Gift Cards were obtained as earned rewards from assorted prior purchases at Rite-Aid.  It was all free money to begin with that I used to get more products for free.
And some of what I bought with these gift cards qualified me for SCRs, or more Single Check Rebates, so I got paid money for buying some of the items...which didn't cost me anything out of pocket to begin with.
You follow me? ;-)

So I spent $.00 during the April SCR Period.
I received $158.21 in products.
And I will receive a check amounting to $8.00 in rebates.
With these purchases, I  am also $17.56 toward a $50 'purchase' which will net me a $25 Rite-Aid Gift Card(SCR#552). (I have almost 2 months left to complete another $32.44 in purchases for this SCR.)

$.00 outgo.
$8.00 income.
$158.21 of toiletries/food.

Rite-Aid paid me $8 to bring home $158.21 of stuff in April.
If you want to see the list of what I got paid to bring home you can find it on this post HERE.
For me, $8 is nothing compared to most of my other month's checks but it's still something. ;-)

April was a big month for Rite-Aid, as they rolled out the Wellness Program nationwide.  Even though I already have a Wellness card/account and I didn't request to sign up again when the program went "live" across the country, I received a new set of Wellness cards(big one and the little keyring ones too)the week before the roll out.  This new card said I already had a 20% discount available to me(which I had earned already with my old Wellness card).  But the new card has a different 'number' than my old card.  I really didn't feel like activating this new card(who knows?....something could have gone wrong in the changeover and they may have 'lost' my 20% discount or whatever).  So on my first trip to Rite-Aid last week after the roll out I asked the clerk if I could still use my old card.  He had NO CLUE!  Ok.....so we tried it anyway and it worked just fine.  Now I'm not sure how long it will work so I'll hold onto the new card to activate if I ever need to...but I'm hoping they don't deactivate my old card.

For May I'll be hitting Rite-Aid a little more than in April, and I've already made 2 trips this Rebate Period.
Not sure how lucrative the shopping trips will be since the Wellness coupons they are releasing are pretty lame....sorry Rite-Aid, but $1.00 off a $10.00 cosmetic or vitamin or allergy, etc. purchase is NOT a good coupon!  (For instance....to use a $1/$10 allergy Q I would have to buy THREE 24 ct. Benadryls-with Wellness Discount they cost me $4.39 ea., so 3 come to $13.17.  $1 measly dollar off is NOT a very good deal.
Bring back the old Wellness coupons!!

Just from this year's rebates I have $51.60 in accumulated Gift Card credits left.

Plus BIL is STILL Waiting on his P&G $35 Prepaid Visa that he requested on 2/15!....the last email Customer Service sent him said to give it 4-6 MORE WEEKS from the date of that email!  It could very well arrive mid-JUNE and that would make it 4 MONTHS since it was requested, to receive the thing.   All the while there are all these things he could be getting for cheap or free with that $35 he is due.
Can you tell the BIL is NOT happy with Rite-Aid at this moment?!?

Anyway, it looks to be a good Rite-Aid month in May for me.
I just wish the Wellness Qs were better. ;-)

So how did you do at Rite-Aid last Rebate Period?  Did you get some good buys?  Tell us!

Old Spice Anyone?

Well I have NOT been shopping all week!
Yep.
All.
Week.
I finally broke down today and headed up to...where else?....Rite-Aid!

I needed a few things before the week and the SCR period for March ended--product to qualify for the NYC cosmetic $1 rebate, 3 more John Frieda items for the 3rd $5 SCR and another $1 worth of something Johnson & Johnson since I miscalculated and only hit the $49 and change mark on the J&J Buy $50/Get $25 SCR deal.
I have 2 John Frieda Root Awakening items rainchecks for the $5 sale price on those products but the stores are still out of the RA 'Poos here and I don't need Conditioners, dang it!  So I'll have to buy the reg. priced Frizz Ease products for the last JFrieda $5 rebate.  Not too bad though, as I get a 10% Wellness discount on the reg. price so they are only $5.84 instead of $6.49.

I did 2 transactions.

**Well, I thought I had a 10% Wellness discount on any regularly priced item....so the 'Poo should have been $5.84.  But it rang up $5.19, with is a 20% discount.  I knew I was close to enough points for the 20% discount so I guess I am now up to the next discount level. ;-)

That went so well so I went back in and basically did it again.....

Coupon Total.....$19.99

$20.54-$19.99=$.55 OOP  Put on Rite-Aid Gift Card so ZERO Spending.

***I didn't realize I got a 20% discount until THE END of this transaction.   The NYC cosmetic only rang up $2.39 instead of the $2.69 I was expecting, so my Total was under $20($19.54).  The register still took the AdPerks $5 off $20 IPQ however.  We realized the problem when the register wouldn't let the cashier imput my last $2 Q, as my total at that point was only $1.54.  Doh! lol
So I added the pack of gum which made my starting total over $20 so I really could use the $5 off $20 Q and then the last $2/1 Q went through, leaving a balance of .54¢.
****And the $2 off any item over $2.99 type Wellness coupons--I haven't had a problem using them on items that are under $2.99 after the discount.  They ring up over $2.99 initially, then the discount is applied bringing their price under $2.99.  As long as the item starts out over that $2.99 or whatever the threshold price is, there is no problem.  I just wanted to explain that if anyone were to notice.

This transaction I qualified for...$1 SCR for NYC Cosmetic $2.99 or more.

I still need to go back tomorrow and buy 1 more John Frieda product to finish off BIL's 3rd Kao Brands-Buy 3/Get $5 SCR.
I also plan to buy a Veet product in that transaction for the $3 Veet SCR for BIL's account.

And now I have to remember to adjust my totals for the 20% level of Wellness discount when figuring my scenarios/totals/oop.
My head hurts.....

Good Deal Alert at Rite-Aid this Week if You have the Wellness Card

For those of you in the test-market areas for the Rite-Aid Wellness Card Program, you may have noticed when you bought anything at Rite-Aid recently, and used your Wellness Card, that 2 coupons printed out on your CRT.
The 1st coupon is for $2 off any OTC cold or cough medicine priced $2 or higher.
Pair this coupon with any of the Theraflu Manufacturers coupons out there(insert or IP ones) for some really inexpensive medicine this week.

If you go to Coupons.com there is a $2/1 Theraflu Q currently.  Use that Q with the CRT $2/1 Q to get the Theraflu(on sale this week for $3.99)for FREE.  Most Rite-Aids have Theraflu blinkie machines dispensing $1.50/1 Qs right on the store shelves.  Pair the CRT Q with this $1.50 Q and get the Theraflu for $.49!

The other CRT Q printing out is for $1 off a seasonal item priced at $1 or more.  I am saving all of those Qs up for Dec. 26th when all the seasonal stuff goes on clearance.  This $1/1 CRT Q doesn't expire until Jan. 9th so plenty of time to get a few free or almost free seasonal items!
