Vacation Pillaging at Ollie's & Rite-Aid

Finally getting around to showing some of my favorite shopping pillaging from my trip down to Va and back.

As I remarked in my food spending post for June I actually spent money at Rite-Aid that month on 75% clearance food.

Besides all the baby aspirin I found(5 x triple packs 75% off so $1.49 for each 3 bottle pack)but I deleted all those photos on my phone so no pictures, sorry), here is some of what else I got and what it cost me OOP.............

3 x Quacker oatmeal packets(Cranberry and Almond-never seen it up here and one of my fav. food combos)=$1.22 each
2 x Craisins bags=.82¢ each(R-A brand were also 75% off but more $?)
4 x R-A brand organic honey bottles=$1.49 each(non-organic honey in this size bottle is reg. way more $!)
2 x R-A brand chicken broth=.79¢ each
2 x Hormel chili w/beans=.82¢ each
1 x Hormel no bean chili=.84¢
1 x R-A brand tomato paste=.29¢
1 x McCafe coffee bag=$2.24
1 x Seventh Generation dishwasher detergent=$1.49
1 x R-A brand Pink Himalayan salt=.84¢
1 x EOP refried beans=.44¢
1 x R-A brand ketchup=.54¢
2 x Campbell's Yes! soup(sweet potato chowder)=.84¢ each
2 x Hormel Roast Beef Hash=.84¢ each(Ex-CB loves this stuff)
4 x R-A sliced mushrooms=.29¢ each
3 x R-A organic/fair trade coffee bags=$1.69 each
2 x Jif whipped peanut butter=.99¢ each

I also bought this below at an Ollie's(Good Stuff Cheap!)in Fredericksburg, VA(I already showed the generic Rice Crispies for 75% offI found in Va. Beach at.37¢ per box=I wish I had room in the car to get more of those!).  While not all 75% off these were still good deals with my 15% discount flyer....

1 x tart cherry juice=$1.29
1 x Minute Maid self stable OJ=..89¢
1 x Horseradish Sauce(for Hubs)=$1.09
3 x Bear Naked granola(this WAS 75% off)=.65¢ per bag

Keep your eyes and ears open because you never know when/what is going to be a good deal.

Rite-Aid & Ollie's Porn

I went up to Rite-Aid to do some reconnaissance for Wellness Wednesday's deals on Sunday.
While I was there I picked up some nail polish...........

The Kokie brand polish and fake eyelashes give back $4 in Bonus Cash this week.(Limmit 2 Deals)
If you have Gold status these $4.99 items are $3.99 after 20% discount.
If you don't have sales tax in your state, even better as these will be a .01¢ moneymaker each.

If you have sales tax that's all these will cost you so figure out if it's worth it to you to pick them up.

Mine total for each 2 bottles was .46¢(sales tax of .48¢ on 2 bottles).  I paid with Bonus Cash so spent BC down on 3 cards by .46¢.

I also went to a different Ollie's(Good Stuff Cheap!)recently.  I should have taken Kim and her Sissie to this one when they were here.  This one must have a manager who has an independent streak as they always seem to have a bunch of food item marked down 75% and 50% off.....the same stuff at the other Ollie's I frequent NEVER have the same foods marked down thusly!
So I hit a deal.........

2 x Velveeta mac and cheese kits 50% off=$1.58
2 x OEP taco shells 75% off=$1.00(.50¢ ea.)
2 x Carrol Shelby chili kits 75% off=.80¢(40¢ ea.)
2 x spaghetti 2 lbs. 50%=$1.78(.89¢ ea.)
1 x Quaker Grits 75% off=.40¢
1 x Planters Pecan pieces 75% off=.87¢
2 x Kraft dressings 75% off=$1.28(.64¢ ea.)
6 x Nestle trio chocolate chips 75% off=$3.00(.50¢ ea.)
$10.71 OOP on $45.23 worth of food items.

The fancy pants chocolate chips were a great deal.  I suppose I have to bake some cookies now, huh? ;-)

Don't forget to get up to Rite-Aid today to do the Wellness Wednesday Coupons!!!  Load them to your card and get a sheet of the same paper ones in the store because they both come off.....except the Folgers Q-that Load2CardQ didn't come off.

Grocery Shopping Last Week

I didn't do a whole lot of food shopping last week-a trip to the Shursave Market, the Restaurant supply store and Ollie's(Good Stuff Cheap!).
First the restaurant supply store.......

I got in on a "group buy".  Every so often they send out an email for a special deal.  The only catch is it's usually a large quantity of something.  This one was a deal on a 10 lb. box of breaded chicken tenders(not nuggets).  $9 for 10 lbs.
Being one of ex-college boy's favorite foods(and a "go to" if he needs a quick snack/meal)I jumped on this buy.
I also picked up some items we were out of--2 dozen eggs for $1.59 each(of course the Shursave started a .99¢ sale on eggs today!), 3 cukes for $1.99, a hunk of liverwurst for Hubs and a 2 lb. bag of shredded mozz for $3.99(at least half the price of reg. retail around here).
$20.68 OOP for this trip.

I picked up a few things at Shursave Market as well.  My local Shursave doesn't take IPQs so while I was at Maines there is a Shursave over there that DOES take them AND doubles them up to $1, so I bought this........

3 boxes of cereal on sale for $1.98 each, used 3 x .50¢ Qs that doubled to $1 so each box was .98¢.

I also happened upon 2 dairy instant discounts-4 packs of Oikos strawberry greek yogurt were on sale for $1.99 per pack and these ones had $1 off instant stickers on them making them .99¢ per pack. The sell by date was coming up quickly but I have found that yogurt keeps months past it's sell by date(ssshhhh, don't tell!).
Those tubs of French onion dip were $1.39 after .50¢ instant discount stickers and are good to have when folks here want something to dip their salty snack in.
I also bought 6 strip steaks at my local Shursave store last week as they were $4.99 per lb.
$33.87 OOP for both these Shursave trips.

I didn't set foot in Weis(PMITA)Markets last week which is highly unusual!  There ads have been very small(really, a 2 page ad!!)and not much that's worth stocking up on, let alone buying any loss leaders.

Friday Shopping

Hubs took Friday off and the weather was bitterly cold BUT SUNNY so we went out shopping after I got my blood work done.

First to Weis and then the local Shursave Market..............

FYI-The Weis $10 Cat when you spend $40 on select Kraft items is NOT a limit of 1 offer.
It it is a limit of 1 Offer PER Transaction.  So you can go back and do it again and again but only once per transaction/order.

So I got 6 more OM bacon and another $10 Catalina Q.
I also did the Sargento Cheese deal--Instantly get $3 off when you "spend" $10 on select Sargento items. (Here, it is running off the reg. shelf price not the sale price.)  So I got 3 sliced cheese packs(reg. $3.69, sale price $3), used 3 x .55/1 Qs HERE (doubled to $1 off each)and paid $3.00 for all 3 packs.

The lunchmeat is for Hubs, $1.69 after sale and $1 instant discount sticker.  The French bread was 50% in the bakery.  I also got a quart of Cabot yogurt on sale $3.99
Behind the cheese are 2 bunches of asparagus $1.88 lb this week.(One is slated for my Leek Soup, the other for broiling plain.)

I also got 4 more jugs of A&H laundry detergent at Weis for .87¢ each(not pictured)to add to the food bank donation pile.

We stopped at the Bread Outlet and got 3 loaves Arnold's fancy pants bread, spent $7. (Grocery store here charges $4.49 a loaf or more depending on the variety.)

Then we went to Ollie's because I had a 15% off anything in the store Q to use before Monday.
Here are the food items we bought.........

2 Hunt's no sale ketchup .76¢ ea.
1 minced Garlic $2.54
1 low-fat Hellman's mayo $1.69
1 large Oregano $2.11
1 Balsamic vinager $1.69
3 olive oil  $1.69 ea.
2 blueberry pie filling $2.11 ea.

2 Larabar Granola(grain-free) $1.69 ea.

Then Hubs talked me into going back to Weis that evening to get him some coffee.....Maxwell House is part of the Spend $40/Get $10 CatQ Deal.
The large cans(2 lbs!)were also on sale so it made it worthwhile

4 x 2lb. Maxwell House coffee vats on sale $7.99(reg. $9.49)
1 x smaller MH coffee not on sale $3.79
Total.....$35.75, got the $10 Catalina Q.

Over 4.5 lbs of coffee for $25.75 after the Catalina.
I don't know if this is a good or great deal because I don't know from coffee but Hubs is happy. lolz

Now I've spent about $120 this week on food(makes up for the last 2 weeks of little to no spending on food)and I've got 3 $10 off Cats to use in the next two weeks on groceries.  8-)

**Heads up for Weis and Rite-Aid shoppers starting on Sunday**

Rite-Aid has $2.00 off In-Ad coupons for Irish Spring Body Wash and it's on sale for $3.49.
Go print the $2/1 Irish Spring Body Wash Qs on coupons dotcom NOW for that sale to get free body wash(be sure to buy something else with it so you don't go negative at the register).

Weis will have Gorton's fish entrees for 50% off when you buy 3, with your shopper card.
Go print the .75¢/1 Q HERE .  If you have access to 2 printers/computers and your store doubles or doubles up to $1, print 3 and get a good deal on grilled fish.

They also had the 48 oz. bottles of Pompeian blend of Olive Oil and Canola Oil for $5.99, which after discount would have cost me $5.39.
But I don't use Canola Oil.

I may go back Sunday evening and buy some more.  I have a coupon for Ollie's special sale where everything in the store will be 15% off, which means even more of a savings.

Anybody else shop at Ollie's?
