What I Bought at Rite-Aid Last Week

On Monday of last week I bought 1 tube of Colgate and the Alka-Seltzer Powermax meds.
There is a full price rebate(up to $11.99 on them HERE.  If you use a coupon they deduct that from the rebate you will receive back.)

Sometimes it's good that a cashier screws up your transaction. 8-)))

My transaction was this......

1 x Colgate toothpaste on sale=$3.50
1 x A-S Powermax pills on sale but Wellness disc. better=$7.99
SubTotal........$11.49

Coupons Used
1 x .50¢/1 Colgate toothpaste ManQ=.50¢
1 x $3/1 Colgate toothpaste In-AdQ=$3.00
1 x $3/1 Alka-Seltzer powermax ManQ=$3.00
Coupon Total....$6.50

$11.49-$6.50=$4.99

Except.....
The cashier didn't ring in my $3/1 In-Ad Q for the Alka-Seltzer so my total was $7.99

So I got $3 cash for a "post coupon" situation.
And since no coupon used for the Alka-Seltzer appears on my receipt I'll get $7.99 cash refund instead of a $4.99 refund. 8-)

I also earned $2 in Bonus Cash for buying the Alka-Seltzer product.

During out trip to VA/NC I picked up 3 more tubes of Colgate making sure they were the varieties that were part of a monthly deal giving back $3 in BC wys $12.........

* 2 tubes in Pocomoke City MD on the way down, used 2 x In-AdQs(had no more .50¢/1 ManuQs)so paid $1.42(.42¢ TAX!!!)total for those 2 tubes, using Bonus Cash of course.

* 1 tube in PA on the way home to finish off the $3 BC deal.  My sister in-law gave me the .50¢/1 Colgate Q from her Sunday paper so I used that and paid Zero on that tube.

In total I paid $9.42 in Bonus Cash for everything pictured, I earned $5 back in new BC($2 Alka-Seltzer, $3 wys $12 Colgate), $3 in cash for the forgotten Q I used, and $7.99 cash back from Alka-Seltzer.  That makes this a $6.58 moneymaker.

This week I have a $5 Catalina to use by Friday when it expires.  I'll either buy some Huggies(earn another $5 Cat and $10 in BC)and sell the diapers to make a small profit or buy some Ricola Immunity drops and earn back $6 new BC.
Decision, decisions, decisions.....

What are you buying this week?

Epic Rite-Aid Shop...Paid $6.22 to Buy All This

After I sat down with my pencil, paper and calculator and figured out this deal fully, I just had to go to Rite-Aid and bring home some more freebies(after sale/coupons/points earned/cash rebates).
I had gotten a $10 off wyb $50 non-prescription items coupons printed on a receipt last week so it made this transaction a moneymaker. 8-)))

Here is what I got.....

1 x Caress Body Wash 20% Wellness disc.=$4.23
1 x Axe Shower Gel 20% Wellness disc.=$4.79
1 x Dove +Men's Body Wash 20% Wellness disc.=$5.03
2 x Dove Soap 6 pack on sale 2/$14=$14.00
2 x Suave Body Wash 20% Wellness disc.$2.31=$4.62
3 x Tresemme Shampoo on sale $4=$12.00
2 x Suave Profesionals Shampoo on sale 2/$6=$6.00
2 x Suave Gold Shampoo on sale 2/$6=$6.00
SubTotal........$56.67+$1.61 tax=$58.28

Coupons Used
1 x $10/$50 R-A receipt Q=$10.00
1 x $1/1 Caress ManuQ=$1.00
1 x $3/2 Dove BW or Soap ManuQ=$3.00
1 x BOGO Suave BWash IPQ=$3.00(scanned automatically for $3 off)
1 x $5/3 Tresemme ManuQ=$5.00
1 x $2/2 Suave Professionals ManuQ=$2.00
1 x $3/2 Suave gold ManuQ=$3.00
Coupon Total......$27.00

$58.28-$27.00=$31.28
I used $31.28 in Plenti Points to pay.

Then I earned the following with this transaction........

* $9 in new Plenti Points($3 wyb $12 in Dove soap/body wash(men's didn't count for this), 2 x $3 wyb $10 Suave/Tresemme)
* $8 in my Checkout51 account($4 for buying the Caress/Axe and $4 for buying 1 Dove soap/Dove +Mens body wash).
* $9 in my Ibotta account($4 for buying the Caress/Axe and $5 for buying 1 Dove soap/Dove+ Men's body wash)
* $11.50 in my SavingStar account($1 Caress, $1 Dove soap, $1 Dove+Men's, $2/2 Suave body wash, $3/2 Tresemme, $2/2 Suave Gold, $1.50/2 Suave Professionals)

So in the end, I "spent down" my Plenti Points by $22.28($31.28-$9 in new points)and earned $28.50 in cash rebates, making this a $6.22 "moneymaker" purchase.

This Plenti card had over $102 in points on it so I can afford to lose some of my point tally on it, even with Black Friday coming, I still have $80 in Plenti Points to roll on the freebies for the BF sales.

Well That Didn't Go as Planned!

I broke my Rite-Aid fast on Wednesday.  I had to go up to fill a couple of Rxs so I did a few deals too.
Before going I made sure to load my Rite-Aid Load2Card Qs onto my Wellness card, load a $5 off wyspend $25(after coupons and sale prices)Offer from my Plenti account and activate electronic Qs in my Saving Star account that is attached to my Wellness/Plenti card(s).

Then I bought all this.........

1 x Hot Tamales theater candy box on sale=$1.29
2 x Colgate toothpaste on sale $2.99=$5.98
2 x Dove 'Poo on sale=$7.00
2 x Tresemme 'Poo on sale=$8.00
1 x Pink Eye drops on sale=$7.49
1 x Ring Relief drops on sale-$7.49
1 x Degree men's Deo on sale=$3.99
1 x Axe 'Poo on sale=$3.99
1 x Dove men's body wash on sale=$4.49

SubTotal.....$49.72

Coupons Used

1 x Freebie Hot Tamales Rite-Aid FB Q=$1.29
1 x $1/1 Colgate toothpaste IPQ(coupons dotcom)=$1.00
1 x $1/1 Colgate toothpaste Load2CardQ=$1.00
2 x $2/1 Colgate toothpaste In-Ad sales flyer Q(stacks with the ManuQs/IPQs/L2CQs)=$4.00
1 x $3/2 Dove 'Poo Load2CardQ=$3.00
1 x $5/2 Tresemme 'Poo ManuQ(Sunday's inserts)=$5.00
1 x $2/1 Pink Eye drops IPQ=$2.00
1 x $2/1 Ring Relief drops IPQ=$2.00
1 x $1/1 Degree men's Deo Load2CardQ=$1.00
1 x $1/1 Axe Poo ManuQ(Sunday's inserts)=$1.00
1 x $2/1 Dove men's body wash Load2CardQ=$2.00

Coupon Total.......$23.29

$49.72-$23.29=$26.43 + .89¢tax=$27.32

I used all $21 worth of Plenti points on this card.

$27.32-$21=$6.32 OOP which was put on my Rite-Aid gift card.

I will receive back in my Saving Star account a check for $8.00(rebates on 2/Dove 'Poo $3, $1 1/Tresemme, $1 1/Degree deo, $1 1/Axe 'Poo, $2 1/Dove body wash), making my OOP now -$1.68.
Yes they are paying me $1.68 to buy all this. 8-)))

In addition I earned more Plenti Points--
$5 worth wyb $15 of select women's Dove/Tresemme items
$3 worth wyb $10 of select men's Dove/Axe items
$20 worth wyb 2 Pink Eye andor Ring Relief items($10 worth for each, limit 2)
$5 worth wyspend $25(after Qs and sale prices)at Rite-Aid on a single transaction

Total Plenti Points earned this transaction---$33 worth
Total Plenti Points spent this transation---$21 worth so I am "up" $12 in points as well as making overage of $1.68 after Saving Star rebates.

Value of items bought in this transaction.....$71.48
Cost OOP(on gift card)....$6.32
Plenti points on card.....$33

Well I went back this morning after my therapy appointment to do the men's Dove/Axe Deal, the women's Dove/Simple Deal and the Colgate toothpaste 1 more time on my son's card.  (I only got 1 tube of toothpaste because I wasn't sure I had a Load2Card Q for a second tube on this card.)  I also did the Pink Eye/Ring Relief Deals once each.

Well between yesterday and today, Rite-Aid changed the amount of points you earn doing the Pink Eye/Ring Relief Deals.

Because what should have earned me back $33 in Pts. only earned me $15 in Pts.
The Pink Eye/Ring Relief only gave back $1 in Points each instead of $10 in Points.  I guess it was suppose to give $1 all along but somebody goofed and they have now corrected this awesome Deal.
Sigh.

So I will be returning those 2 items since I only bought them for the points(don't "need" them but could have donated them if they were free or a moneymaker).

After I return them(and have the Qs I used deducted)my OOP put on the gift card will be $7.09.
I suppose they will also deduct the $2 in Plenti pts. from this account for the return, which is only right, so this card will have $13 in points on it instead of the $15 in points it now has.  I  used $12 in points to buy all this so I will still be "up" $1 in points.  Being $21 "up" in points on this card would have been nicer. lolz

Plus since I bought different items in those 2 men's Dove/Axe and women's Dove/Simple Deals with Saving Star rebates on them from the items in my first transaction(except for the Dove men's body wash), I'll also receive $6.50 in more Saving Star rebates for this transaction(.50¢ Axe, $1 Dove men's deo, $2 Simple cleaner, $1.50 Dove dry spray deo, $1.50 Dove women's deo).

Take that $6.50 and deduct it from what I paid on the gift card, $7.09, and all the items in this transaction cost me .55¢(plus I received $1 in points above what I spend in points).

Still a very good haul but not the blockbuster point maker I thought I was going to have.  ;-)

Value of items bought in this transaction.....$45.33
Cost OOP(on gift card)after I make the return.... .55¢
Plenti points on card.....$13(or $15 if they don't yank those $2 in points for the return)

Outcome for both cards/transactions
Total "spent" put on gift card--$13.41
Total value of items--$116.81
Plenti Points used--33,000($33)
Plenti Points earned--46,000($46)
Saving Star Rebates earned--$14.50

OOP spending total..... -$1.09(moneymaker overage)
Points are "up".........$13

Overall this was worth doing.

Next week at Rite-Aid there is nothing that is free or a great cheap deal so I won't be darkening their doors.
I have one rx that needs refilling at Kmart next week that I might transfer to Rite-Aid which will earn me $25 in Plenti Points(There is a refill/points Q in this week's ad that is good until 10/10 you can use to get free points).  Why not, right?.....after all, $15 in free stuff is $25 in free stuff! lolz

My 5 Transaction Moneymaker at Rite-Aid this Week...Stay Tuned!

There is a P&G Single Check Rebate available on certain Proctor & Gamble items purchased at Rite-Aid from 1/17-2/13.  It's SCR #551 and can be viewed on the Rite-Aid Website.
Purchasing qualifying items gets you a Visa Preloaded Card--Buy $25, Get $5/Buy $50, Get $15/Buy $100, Get $35.
The best deal of course is the $35 Card.

I have come up with a 5 Transaction Scenario to qualify for the $35 card.  By combining sales, coupons(manuQs, AdPerk Qs and IP Qs),various Olay rebates, Single Check Rebate items and using my Fall Gift of Savings $20 Certificate I will spend $123.38 and end up with a $28.86 Cash Moneymaker PLUS the $35 Visa card on this deal(Moneymaker of $63.86 in Cash and Gift Card)!
That is, if the Coupon "Powers That Be" are kind to our region in this Sunday's inserts and the prices in the store are what I have been led to believe they should be.

And if the weather holds up on Sunday long enough for me to get out and do 5 Transactions, I'll be back to report in on how I accomplished this later today.

Sunday at Rite-Aid....Serious Moneymaker!

Not a great week for Rite-Aid freebies but I was able to put together an awesome Moneymaker.

5 x Prell Shampoo on sale $.99=$4.95
1 x Chapstick Fresh Effects=$2.99
1 x Nivea Lip Gloss=$2.99
1 x SpinBrush on sale=$5.99
1 x Revlon Eye Shadow on clearance=$1.74
1 x Revlon Tweezer on clearance=$.61
1 x Revlon Pumice Stone on clearance=$.94
SubTotal....$20.21

Coupons Used
1 x $5 off $20 RA/AdPerks Q=$5.00
1 x $2/1 SpinBrush ManuQ(sometime in Oct./also 1 in recent insert)=$2.00
1 x $2/1 Revlon color product ManuQ=$2.00
2 x $1/1 Revlon beauty tool ManuQ=$2.00
Coupon Total....$11.00

$20.21-$11.00=$9.21+$.47=$9.68 OOP

Not a very low OOP BUT.....
here are the SCRs I qualified for with this purchase--

1 x Chapstick $2.99(full purchase price rebate)
1 x Nivea Lip product $2.00
1 x SpinBrush or refill $2.00
5 x Prell @$2.00 EACH=$10.00(you can do this rebate up to 5 times!)
SCR Total....$16.99

$9.68OOP-$16.99Rebates=$7.31 Moneymaker

Oh Yeah!!!

Also worth doing this week if you wear make-up is the Cover Girl SCR.  It's on sale for $3.99 this week and paired with the recent $1/1 Cover Girl ManuQ, you pay $2.99 AND can submit for a $2.00 SCR.  The limit on this SCR is 5, so grab a $5 off $20 AdPerks Qs, 5 of the $1/1 Cover Girl Qs and do this....

5 x Cover Girl Make-up @$3.99=$19.95
Add another item with a SCR, like a bottle of Prell(which would make this scenario a MM)or the Chapstick(full purchase price SCR)or a teeny tiny priced filler item.
With the $5/$20 and the CG Qs, the make-up will cost you Zero OOP.

**And be sure to check your Rite-Aid for CLEARANCE in the Make-Up Dept.  I found those Revlon things for 75% OFF!  Plus the $1/1 Revlon Tool and $2/1 Revlon Color Product made them BETTER than free!  The Qs did NOT adjust down and the cashier didn't bat an eye about that.lolol
That kind of makes up for the fact that we didn't get any Cover Girl Qs in our region's inserts, so I can't do the Cover Girl Deal at Rite-Aid but I can still get free make-up anyway.lolol

Holiday GLADE Products at KMart + Rebate=Moneymaker this Week!

Here's an idea if you buy Glade candle/scented oil products and your KMart is doubling coupons this week.

I haven't seen anyone else mention this yet, so either give Don't Read This; It's Boring! Blog credit or link back to this page to spread the word.

KMart is running a promotion until 12/24/09.
Buy select HOLIDAY SC Johnson items(Holiday Saran/Ziploc or Glade items).
*Spend $10-$14.99 & receive a $2.00 OYNO coupon
*Spend $15-$19.99 & receive a $3 OYNO coupon
*Spend $20 or more & receive a $5 OYNO coupon
The OYNO coupon is good for 2 weeks from purchase date.

There was a Glade coupon in the sunday's paper a few weeks ago-$2 off 2 Glade scented oil candles.
KMart has the Glade refill packs(pictured above) on sale this week for 2 for $5.
And if your store doubles coupons this week, buy two packs and pay $1.00 out of pocket for both.
$5-$2/2 coupon doubled to $4=$1.00
Use 2 coupons and buy 4 refill packs and pay $2.00.
Remember....make sure you buy 4 HOLIDAY SCENT Packs!
Your total before coupons will be $10.  When you pay your $2.00 cash at the register, a $2 OYNO coupon will generate, making these candle refills FREE(after tax that is).

Then send for this SC Johnson Rebate HERE.  Buy 3 SC Johnson items and get $5 back.
Click on that page where it says to download your rebate form.

Your FREE Glade just became a $5 MONEYMAKER!
And the best part is you can send for this rebate up to 3 times per address/household. Each rebate must be mailed separately.  And this offer is good until 7/30/10.

Nice smelly stuff for MORE Than FREE...Woohoo!!!

What to Buy this Week at Rite-Aid 8/9-8/15

This coming week(Aug. 9-15)is going to be a pretty barren week at Rite-Aid for getting things for FREE or making $$ on the deals.
There is only ONE Staight Up FREEBIE that week. But there are some ways to get things for really really cheap.

Here's a Scenario I have planned that is a teeny tiny Moneymaker for me after tax.

1 Scotch Tape Pop-Up Dispenser on sale for $2.49
3 Aero Orthotics Inserts on sale for $5.00 ea.=$15
3 Dawn Dishwashing Soap on sale for .99¢ ea.=$2.97
5 Snapple bottles on sale for .99¢ ea.=$4.95
SUBTOTAL $25.42+tax.

Using these coupons....
1 $5 off $25 purchase Rite-Aid=$5
3 $2/1 Aero Orthotics=$6(These were peelies from 2 months ago)
3 .20¢/1 Dawn from last sunday's P&G insert=$.60**If you get the P&G Right At Home home mailer, there are .50¢ Qs in those
5 .55¢/1 Snapple=$2.75 (These were hangtags from bottles I picked up awhile ago)
COUPON TOTAL=$14.35

$25.42-$14.35=$11.07+taxOOP

Submit for SINGLE CHECK REBATES....# Aero Orthotics($10) & Scotch Tape Pop-Up Dispenser($2.49)=$12.49

$11.07-$12.49=$1.42 MoneyMaker!
Well that depends on your state tax rate. Here in PA, the tax will eat up $1.23 on that Overage, so I get a .19¢ MoneyMaker.LOL
Not such a great moneymaker for me, but hey!....I got all that stuff for FREE at least, right? ;-)

If you have the Scotch Tape Q, your OOP will be lower. Unfortunately, I don't have that Q....

My scenario is strictly a YMMV as the Qs you have may be different. The Aeros are a $1MM in their own right if you have those $2 Peelies. I found some at KMart, so take a ride to visit Mr. BlueLight this weekend before you go to Rite-Aid if you need those Peelies.
There are quite a few items that are part of the .99¢ sale this coming week at Rite-Aid. Check if you can find some Qs in your stash for some of the things that are .99¢ and be sure to print out a $5/$25 Rite-Aid Q before you go.

If you can't find enough Qs to do a $25 order that's ok. You can still do the Scotch Tape as it's at the least a Total FREEBIE after SCRebate(and tax...blasted tax!lol). And if you have the P&G home Mailer Qs for $.50/1 Dawn, be sure and grab some .49¢ Dawn early in the week before it's all grabbed up.

I think I've blabbed about Rite-Aid enough over the last two days, huh?lol
