Frugal Friday....The July 14th Edition on Saturday

Here are things I did to be frugal this past week.........

*  My car needed an oil change so Hubs took it up to a local auto center that provides this service.
I remembered I had $50 in gift cards(won at the church auction last Fall)for this auto place so the oil change/etc. only cost $11 OOP.  My car takes expen$ive oil so it's never cheap anyway.

*  We stayed close to home and no mindless shopping.  We did get take-out for lunch one day(Whoppers!)but I used coupons and a gift card to pay.

*  Like the proper Viking descendant I am, I pillaged Rite-Aid this week......

Just some of my loot.  There were two more transactions but I've already blogged about all this.
Same with my Weis(PMITA)Deals.......

*  I submitted for a .50¢ cash rebate this past week from Checkout51 too.  Go me. lolz

*  We broke down and bought an EZ-Pass transponder this week too.  I detest the corruption that is PA politics and getting caught in their bureaucratic net even deeper than I already am, but having EZ-Pass will save us both on this road trip(a bit) and on down the line(a lot) on toll fees.  Many states in the country from IL and east of there accept it and your tolls are substantially less(to half price)what you are required to pay the old fashioned way with a paper ticket and cash.  While it won't help us once we get out West on this trip, it will save us loads of money in the future going to see my brother in VA, going down to Ocean City MD, going to ME and going to see cousin Sonya Ann in IL.
At least we'll have no more of Illinois Toll Hell. Ever. Again!

*  I got an email from Checkout51 this week.  Seems I won a prize in some sweepstakes they were holding......

I won $50!!!   I got entered just by submitting a receipt during a certain time frame and got randomly picked to win a prize.  This was so random and out of the blue but hey!, I'll take it!!! lolz

This goes to show those little money wins/rebates I submit for(.50¢ here/$1 there)actually pay off.....sometimes in ways you don't expect.  ;-)

I hope you had some frugal wins this week too.

Rite-Aid....This Week's Haul

I had a few things to get at Rite-Aid this week.

On Sunday I went up and bought this......

2 x Cottonelle TP on sale $7.49=$14.98
1 x Mucinex Allergy 5ct. on sale $7.50 but 20% Wellness Discount more=$7.19
Subtotal.....$22.17

Coupons Used
2 x $1/1 Cottonelle ManQ(Sunday's inserts)=$2.00
2 x $1/1 Cottonelle Video ValuesQ=$2.00
1 x $2/1 Mucinex Allergy ManQ(Sunday's inserts)=$2.00
1 x $3/1 Mucinex Allergy Video ValuesQ=$3.00
Coupon Total......$9.00

$22.17-$9.00=$13.17 OOP

I received back $10.50 in +Up Rewards($5 WYB2 Cottonelle, $5.50 Mucinex Allergy) AND as an unexpected bonus, the Catalina machine spit out a $2 off your next shopping trip Q for buying 2 Cottonelle packs.
Sweet!  This will make my OOP this week $2 less.

The Mucinex counted toward the Spend $30/Get $10 +UPs Deal for this week too, so I am $7.19 into that reward.

Then on Monday, while out and about, I went into Rite-Aid and bought this stuff here......

1 x Mucinex Allergy 5 ct. 20% Wellness Discount=$7.19
1 x Mucinex Allergy 30 ct. on sale=$19.99
1 x Gain dish soap on sale=.99¢

I paid with my $10.50 in +Ups and that $2 OYNO CatQ....

$16.17-$12.50Cat/+Ups=$3.67 + .02¢tax=$3.69 OOP

I received a $10 +Up Rewards because I had bought $30 or more($34.37) of Mucinex Allergy this week.

The Gain dish soap put me over $30 on the Tide/Gain Rebate(remember all that Tide I bought 2 weeks ago?) so I'll be getting a $10 gift card(prepaid Visa card)after sending away those receipts.

I am OOP this week $16.86, have 2 large packs of TP, a bottle of dish soap and 40 allergy pills and got back/will get back $20 in +Up Rewards/gift cards.

**Addendum**
I just noticed that the Tide/Gain Rebate is after coupons used.  After coupons I only spent $20+.
Crap!
I have until the end of September to spend another $10 on products to qualify for this rebate.  I might or might not send for it now, depending on the deals I find between now and 9/30 that get me to $30.

Rite-Aid This Week

I went to Rite-Aid after my dentist appointment this week.
I had $6 in +Up Rewards to use by Saturday.
These deals are good until Saturday night.....

1 x Excedrin on sale=$3.99

I used my $6 in +Ups and paid $1.00 OOP.

I received back $4 in +Ups($2 Vaseline, $1 Excedrin, $1 Bigelow tea).

My plans for these items.......the lotion is for my sister in-laws(Xmas) and the tea is for my daughter....she prefers Earl Grey but they were out, so I'll take this box back to exchange it when they get that type in again.
The headache pills are for our stockpile.

I have to go figure out how to spend the $20 in +Ups I got for buying some restaurant gift card last week, by next Wednesday when they expire.
Anybody got any good plans for getting things cheaply at Rite-Aid next week?
I'm all ears....lol

I have $28.75 in tracking for the February Anniversary Promotion.

I had a Load2Card digital Q for $1/2 Reach toothbrushes but it didn't come off.  I was expecting my total after Qs to be $20.12 instead.  Oh well.  Those L2C Qs are hit and miss so badly that I NEVER count on them anymore.

Grand Total for Rite-Aid

I didn't have a whopping big month at Rite-Aid in January.
Even with the 50th Anniversary Promo I just couldn't get into the deals last month.
It is what it is I suppose.
At least I got the lowest +Up Reward and I got through the month without spending money out of MY pocket, so it's all good. 8-)

Here are the final numbers.....

Not too bad!

I've got $20 +Ups to roll this week so I better go look at the sales ad, huh?

How was your January at Rite-Aid?

Cookie Mix Fixed & The Rest of What I Got at Rite-Aid Last Week

Here is some more Rite-Aid shopping from last week.
I talked about the BC Cookie Mix/+Ups printing problem I had but I neglected to post that trips total/spending....

2 x BC cookie mix on sale $2=$4.00
1 x Pentel Mechanical Pen $4.99 but w/Gold discount=$3.99
SubTotal....$7.99

I used a $1/2 BC Cookie Mix IPQ=$1.00

$7.99-$1.00=$6.99+.04¢tax=$7.03
I used a $6 +Up Reward to pay and put the $1.03 in my gift card.
I received a $4 +Up Reward back for the Mechanical Pencil, which made the pencil free.
Didn't get the $2 food +Ups however as you all know already.

*The Pentel Pencil Deal is a monthly one.  The "Twist Erase" Mechanical Pencils are one of the varieties that gives the $4 +Up Reward.  I found Bonus packs of them at one store....2 Pencils and an ink Pen.  They or the regular pack with just 1 Pencil are both part of the Deal.  If you have a Gold Wellness discount, after +Ups this makes them free.  There is also a Pentel Gel Pen that goes for $3.19 after Gold discount that is generating a $3 +Up Reward, so that's a cheap, but not free pen after rewards.  The Limit on the Pencils is 4 per card and it goes all month so keep that in mind if you have a week where you need to roll +Ups and there is little else you need.

On Friday I also did this transaction....

1 x BC Cookie Mix on sale=$2.00 *not pictured, you saw it already
5 x Dana brand Fragrances $2.99 but w/Gold discount $2.39=$11.95
1 x Pentel Mechanical Pencil $4.99 w/Gold discount=$3.99
SubTotal....$17.94

Coupons Used
1 x .50¢/1 Betty Crocker Cookie Mix IPQ(smartsource dotcom)=$.50
5 x $2/1 Dana brands fragrance IPQ(from their website)=$10.00
Coupon Total....$10.50

$17.94-$10.50=$7.44+.01¢tax=$7.45
I used $7 in +Ups and put the .45¢ on my gift card(had to break out a new gift card finally).
I received back $4 in +Ups($4 Pentel) and then when I returned and rebought the cookie mixes Saturday evening, I got my $2 +Ups for that, so I received $6 +Up Rewards in total.

I also bought a $50 Kohl's gift card on my Wellness card and another on the BIL's card on Saturday evening.  The $100 I spent for those comes out of a fund for clothing, so basically it was just converting $100 of that cash into gift cards, which will be spent in 2013 on regular clothing needs for the family.
This wasn't regular Rite-Aid shopping.
But.....buying them at Rite-Aid did give me 2 x $5 +Up Rewards for the purchases.
These are a "bonus" and get rolled into my pile of +Ups. 8-)

These trips--
OOP....$0.00
Value of items....$34.50
+Ups coming into this trip....$47.00
+Ups used....$13.00

Used My Expiring +Ups..A Rite-Aid Post

Went out last night to use the last of my $8 in +Ups expiring on Saturday.
I bought this on my card.....

2 x Dove Men's Body Wash (raincheck price of $2.50)=$5.00
1 x Axe Gift Set(w/Wellness 20% diacount)=$9.59
SubTotal.....$14.59

Coupons Used
1 x $2/1 Load2Card Dove Men's Body Wash=$2.00
2 x $2/1 Dove Men's Body Wash IPQ=$4.00
2 x $1/1 Any Dove Body Wash VV/AdPerks IPQ=$2.00
1 x $2/1 Axe Gift Set VV/AdPerks IPQ=$2.00
2 x $1/1 Axe single items VV/AdPerks IPQ=$2.00
Coupon Total.....$12.00

$14.59-$12.00=$2.59+.28¢tax=$2.87

I used $2 in +Ups and put the .87¢ on my Rite-Aid gift card.
I received back $3+Ups(Axe gift set), so all this was FREE and gave me $1 back in +Ups.

Then I got called home for a car emergency.  Had to go jump Hubs car and he needed to take my car to run an errand, so my shopping Friday night was done.

I now have 2 nice Christmas presents for my son's that didn't cost me a dime.....thanks Rite-Aid! 8-))

On Saturday I hit Rite-Aid again because I still had $6 in +Ups expiring.

I wanted to get Ziploc bags this week but my store was out, so I had to change it up.

Here are my gets on the BIL's card......

3 x R-A napkins on sale $2.50(3rd pack suppose to be $2.69 but rang up $2.50)=$7.50
2 x Tums Refreshers on sale $4.50=$9.00(1 is missing from the picture)
2 x ID Gum on sale $1.00=$2.00
SubTotal......$18.50

Coupons Used
1 x BOGO ID Gum(Target site ManuQ)=$1.49 *
1 x .25¢/1 ID Gum VV/AdPerks IPQ=$.25
2 x $1/1 Tums Refreshers Tearpad Q(on shelf)=$2.00
2 x $1.50/1 Tums Refershers VV AdPerks IPQ=$3.00
AND HERE IS WHERE IT GETS CRAZY.....
1 x $1/1 Tums Refershers Load2Card Q=$1.00
1 x $2.50/1 Tagament Load2Card Q=$2.50 **
1 x $1/1 Debrox EarWash Load2Card Q=$1.00 **
Coupon Total.....$11.24

$18.50-$11.24=$7.26+.21¢=$7.47
I used my $6 in expiring +Ups and a $1 +Ups from the ID Gum I bought earlier in the week to pay and put the .47¢ on my R-A gift card.

I received back $7 in +Up Rewards($3 wyb $7 in paper goods, $1 wyb2 ID gum, $$2 wyb2 Tums, $1 wyb2 R-A tissues/napkins), so I am "even" on the +Ups count n this transaction.

* First off, the cashier took the full reg. price off on the Gum and not the sale price.  The coupons had a limit of $1.29 so I need to go back next time and give them some change back.

** Now why did Tagament and Ear Wash Qs on the Load2Card come off for this transaction?  From what I've heard, all 3 of these products are made by Glaxo Smith Kline and that is what triggered them to attach to my Tums.  It would also explain by the single item $1 Axe Qs are attaching to your transaction if you only buy the Gift Set.....same brand name owns both gift sets and single items.  Now I can see this since they are BOTH Axe products, but it's truly crazy that those GSK owned different brands came off on my Tums.  But I am NOT complaining! lol  My 2 Tums cost $9 and I got $9.50 in Qs off of the cost between my $5 in VV/AdPerk and Tearpad Qs and $4.50 in Load2Card Qs.

I was NOT expecting that extra $1 +Ups for buying the napkins.  The ad stated "Spend $7 in Rite-Aid paper products, Get $3 +Ups".  I spent $7.50 on 3 packs of napkins and got the $3 and an additional $1 +Ups that was specific to the napkins.  And I got tracking on my receipt "Buy 2 RA Tissues/Napkins, Get $1+Up(Limit 2)".  I would suppose this is some kind of Monthly Deal for the Tissues/Napkins.
After both +Up Rewards on the napkins they ended up "costing" $1.17 a package(if you had to spend cash and don't have +Ups to spend).  That's not a bad price for 250 ct.!

My +Ups are good to go for another 2 weeks if next week's ad has nothing I want/need.  I can concentrate on Turkey stuff this week instead. ;-)

Rain & Wind Can't Keep Me From My Appointed RITE-AID Rounds!

Yes, before the weather got bad here on Monday, I was up at Rite-Aid.
The cashier reported it had been nuts in the store all day......you know, with the people who wait until it's almost too late to get necessities like bottle water and batteries and flashlights.
Silly People......don't they EVER learn?

Me?  I was up hunting the deals.....

2 x Krave cereal on sale=$6.00
4 x Bounty paper towels BOGO sale=$2.98
2 x Pantene products on sale=$7.00
1 x Preparation H totable on sale=$3.99
1 x Lindt chocolates on sale=$3.00
4 x Hormel chili on sale $1.50=$6.00
SubTotal....$28.97

Coupons Used
2 x $1.50/1 Krave cereal IPQ(Kellogg'sReward Qs)=$3.00
2 x $1/2 Bounty ManuQ(P&G insert)=$2.00
1 x BOGO Pantene products ManuQ=$3.50
1 x $1/1 Pantene Beautiful Lengths product Rite-AidQ(from self magazine)=$1.00
1 x $1/1 Preparation H product IPQ(website)=$1.00
1 x Free Q Lindt's(facebook-no longer available)=$3.00
2 x $1/2 Hormel chili ManuQ=$2.00
Coupon Total......$15.50

$28.97-$15.50=$13.47
I used $13 in +Up Rewards and put the .47¢ on my Rite-Aid gift card.
I received $7 back in +Up Reweard($2 wyb2 Pantene, $2 wyb2 cereal, $3 Preparation H)and I have $9 tracking toward the Spend $12, Get $4 on select food items.

Analysis--

*Krave cereal.  This is among the cereals On sale for 2/$6 this week. Kellogg's has a Rewards program.  You save codes and get points and among the things you can get are coupons.  I joined, got some free codes and turned some in for this $1.50/1 on Krave cereal Q.  It printed 3 times so I have 3 Qs.  I used 2 and received $2 +Ups back for buying 2 boxes.  After sale/Qs/+Ups the cereal "cost" me .50¢ per box.

*Bounty Basic towels are BOGO this week, so $1.49 for 2 at my store.  Used the $1/2 ManuQ so each roll "cost" me .24/.25¢.

*Pantene on sale for 2/$7 this week.  I used the Buy one shampoo, get a conditioner or styler FREE P&G insert Q that expires on Wed.  So I paid $3.50 for the shampoo and got the conditioner free.  Then I stacked the Rite-Aid Q from Self magazine for $1/1 Beautiful Lengths variety of Pantene shampoo, making my total $2.50 for 2 after Qs.  Then for buying 2 Pantene products I received a $2 +Up Reward which made each bottle "cost" me .25¢.  Without the stacked Q, the total would have been .75¢ for each bottle.

*Preparation H totables on sale $3.99 this week.  There is a $1/1 Q on their website, making this $2.99.
There is a $3 +Ups for buying this item, so it is FREE or a .01¢ moneymaker after sale/Q and +Ups.

*Lindt's chocolate (small bags) on sale this week for $3.  There was a Free Lindt's Q offer(up to $3.99) on Facebook earlier this month.  I was able to get 4 prints of that Q.  Free bag of chocolate and it's a qualifying product for a "Spend $12, Get $4 +Ups back" Offer.  Free choccies and $3 toward that +Up Deal.

*Hormel chili is also part of that "Spend $12, Get $4 +Ups back" Offer.  On sale for $1.50 can, so 4 cans was $6.  I used 2 $1/2 ManuQs, making them "cost" me $4.  Add my $6(before Qs) spending to $3 for the Lindt's chocolate and I have $9 spending toward the $12 to get the $4 +Ups.
If I go buy 1 more bag of Lindt's with my Free Q, I'll have $12 spent, get a free bag of chocolate and a $4 +Ups back......so this what will happen in the next couple of days.  8-))

In the end I "spent down" $6 in +Ups but after buying another bag of chocolate(and getting another $4 +Up with no spending), I'll only be "down" $2 in +Ups.

The End of Rite-Aid Shopping for 10/7-10/13

Here's what I got an Rite-Aid late Saturday afternoon.
This was as soon as I could get around last week to getting back there!
I wanted to hit the larger Rite-Aid downtown because my town's store has less shelf space so lots of times by the time I hit them for a good sale, they are wiped out.
This other Rite-Aid also gets their truck in on Friday's so on Saturday, IF they got wiped out during the week, they get more goodies in for me to buy....woohoo!

So here is what I got.....

2 x Dove for Men Body Wash for $7.  They had them at this store so after $4 in Qs and the $2+Up I got back,, they cost me .50¢ for each bottle.

2 x Colgate Toothpaste at $5.98.  I used 2 x $1/1 ManuQs and after the 2 x $2+Up they generated, this deal was a .02¢ moneymaker.

4 x Trident Gum(16 ct) for $4.  After 2 x BOGO IPQ and the 2 x $1+Up every 2 packs  generated, this was 4 packs of FREE Gum.

2 x Zicam Spray on clearance for $6.48($3.24 ea.).  These clearance ones also generated the $4+Up like the ones on sale for $8.99 did, so after my 2 x $2/1 IPQs and the 2 x $4+Up generated, this deal was a $5.76 moneymaker!

2 x Right guard Soap 6 packs for $3.98($1.99 ea.).  Remember this was on sale a week or so ago?  I got a raincheck because my store didn't have any on the shelf when the sale started even!  I found 2 packs at the downtown store, using my raincheck.  I used a $2/2 IPQ which brought the price down to $1.98.  Then the cashier used a $1/1 PEELIE Q on one of the packages, which means after Qs I paid .98¢ for BOTH 6 packs(or .49 cents for ea.).  Unfortunately I didn't see that the other pack of soap have a $1 PEELIE on it too, or this could have been a .02¢ moneymaker instead.
I do have 2 more packs left on my raincheck so I'll be sure to take the Peelie and stick in on any more packs I buy.....if they don't already have a Peelie on them.  ;-)

1 x Chapstick Overnight on clearance for $1.24.  No Qs or anything....I just wanted to try this.  The clearance price made it tempting enough. lol

SubTotal......$28.68
Coupons Used....$15.00
Total....$13.68 + .55(taxes applied are after +Ups are applied to bill)=$14.23

I used $14 in +Ups from last week and earlier in the week to pay, and put the .23¢ on my gift card.
I received $16 in +Ups back($2 Dove, 2 x $2 Colgate, 2 x $1 Trident, 2 x $4 Zicam).

I got all pictured above for free plus I grew my +Ups by $2.

I plan to give the Zicam spray to #1 son and #2 son.  The gum is for Hubs.  The body wash and soap are also for the menfolk here.  Look for the Colgate to come to a giveaway on the blog in the near future. ;-)

Now I'm off to study the new weekly ads.
I'm in no hurry to roll +Ups this week but if I see something good I will go in.

Finishing Up This Week at Rite-Aid

Ok, since it's Saturday, the last day of the sale so nobody needs/wants to see the big honking long breakdown of what I bought and what I paid, etc. PLUS.....after the week I had, the week of buying and returning crap because I couldn't figure out which toothpaste qualified to which deal(Yes! I am THAT dense some days.), I don't even think I can remember how it all went down.
So I am just doing 1 big lovely photograph and summing up the totals for what turned out to be 7 separate transactions over the course of 4 days.

But first.....to refresh your memory of what I bought on Tuesday.....

And now, for your viewing pleasure, as Paul Harvey would have said, "Here's the rest of the story.".....

7 tubes of Crest Toothpaste
6 boxes of Kotex Tampons
6 bags of Brach's Sugar Crack
4 sleeves of Incense
2 packets of Sashet
2 Oral-B Toothbrushes
2 bottles of Scope
1 box of R-A brand Tea Bags(only $1!)
2 bottles of Nexxus Shampoo
2 bottles of Clean & Clear Face Wash
4 tubes of Olay Cleaners (thanks Sheila!)
I also got a blue step stool(a house full of short people can always use another step stool)on 75% clearance that isn't pictured.  It qualifies for the $5 wyb2 items Gracious Living SCR EXCEPT I can't find any more Gracious Living items to buy to get to 2 items purchased to get the rebate.  It was honestly the LAST Gracious Living item in a 4 store area.  bleh.
But I'm keeping it anyway....

Total spent OOP......$3.09 put on my Rite-Aid gift card
Total value of items....$173.71
Total +Ups used.....48.00+
Total +Ups gotten.... 59.98+
Total +Ups left.....25.98+
Plus I got $1.50 cash back after a transaction when a coupon was missed.
AND the $20 Nexxus purchase will get me a $5 cash rebate from SavingStar.

I think I actually spent more than $48 in +Ups but my head hurts already from staring at these receipts so I am going to call it all good and leave it at that. lol
I just know I have $25.98 in +Ups left now & I didn't spend any cash. 8-)

I am so done with Rite-Aid this week!
Next week for me will be light--some lunch meal thingys for Hubs, some Puffs facial tissue, dish soap, Comet, Herbal Essence shampoo, chili, chips, R-A brand paper towels....on second thought, next week might not be so light!lol
I don't see anything that will be free so far.   Just cheap and/or cheaper than getting it at the grocery stores here.

Have you decided what you'll be popping into Rite-Aid for next week?

And now the Grand Total so far for September.....

What I Bought At Rite-Aid This Week

I didn't get to the store until Tuesday night but here is what I bought......

2 x Tampax on sale $3.50=$7.00
2 x Nexxus Shampoo w/20% wellness discount $5.03=$10.06
2 x Oral-B toothbrushes on sale $2.99=$5.98
2 x Brach's candy corn on sale 2/$2=$2.00
1 x Olay Regenerist Cleanser w/20% wellness discount=$6.63
SubTotal....$31.67

Coupons Used
2 x $3/1 Tampax Radiant(from inside last 2 packages I bought)=$6.00
2 x $3/1 Nexxus item IPQ(Walmart site)=$6.00
1 x $1/2 Oral-B or Crest complete item ManuQ(P&G insert)=$1.00
1 x $1/1 Oral-B Oral Care Book Q=$1.00
1 x $1.50/2 Brach's candy items IPQ=$1.50
1 x $7 In-Ad Regenerist Q=$7.00
Coupon Total....$22.50

$31.67-$22.50=$9.17
I used $9 in +Up Rewards to pay and put the .17¢ on my Rite-Aid gift card.

I received back $7.98 in +Up Rewards(1 x $1 wyb2 Brach's, 1 x $1 wyb2 Tampax, 2 x $2.99 Oral-B).
So all this "cost" me $1.02 in +Ups.

The Tampax Radiant with this symbol and wording......

Have this inside.....

A $2/1 Tampax Radiant Q.....along with a $1/1 Venus, $1/1 Cover Girl and a $1/1 Always radiant Q.

Last time I bought these the Tampax Q was for $3/1(which are the Qs I used on this transaction).

If they hadn't made these Qs $1 less, everyone who buys 2 boxes this week can open them up and use the Qs inside to get them for FREE after getting the $1 +Up wyb2 back.  Now?  You end up paying $1 a box after the sale/Qs/+Up back on 2.  So much for my evil plan to get 8 boxes free(using my card and B-IL's card).

Curses.....thwarted again!
Well played Rite-Aid, well played...... ;-)

The plan now is to maybe do the Tampax Deal again this week, since with these Qs and after $1 +Ups I get back, they will "cost" me $1 a box.  I liked it so much better when they were FREE! lol

The definite plan is to do more candy corn.......candy corn=sugar crack!.......more toothbrushes(on B-IL's card)......and buy $10 more in Nexxus and get the $10 +Up Rewards(for buying $20 total).

And if some promised Qs from a blogging friend get here in time, more Olay Regenerist products.....because we all know how vain I am about my beauty.......snort.......

What are you buying at Rite-Aid this week?

Rite-Aid Quickie!

Finishing off the Spend $25 on Cold Meds, Get $10 +Up Rewards Deal....

2 x Incense w/20%wellness discount $1.19=$2.38

1 x $3/2 Alka Seltzer IPQ=$6.00
Coupon total.......$3.00

$11.01-$3.00=$8.01 + .04¢tax=$8.05

I used $8 in +Ups and put the .05¢ on my Rite-Aid gift card.
I received back $13 in +Up Rewards($10 Spend $25/Get $10 Cold Meds, $3 WYB 2 incense).

In total,  I spent $26.99 on Cold Meds, used $13 in Qs, got a $10 +Ups and got a $5 SCR, so Rite-Aid paid me $1.01 for buying 6 boxes of Alka-Seltzer!
Dontcha love that?!

And the Flora Incense deal has changed.  There is a LIMIT OF 2 DEALS on it now.
If you bought incense last week, before Monday, it doesn't count toward your total of Deals done.
So going forward, buy 2 incense, get a $3 +Up Reward, limit 2 Offers.
This means Free incense if you have NO Wellness discount and a small Moneymaker if you have either Silver or Gold level Wellness discount.

As for this coming week's ad?
I'm getting free toothbrushes(Oral-B)or free toothpaste(Crest)-both are $2.99 and give a $2.99 +Ups and after using a Q also will be a moneymaker.
I'm also getting free Kotex tampons since I have $3/1 Qs from previous boxes of tampons-I'll show y'all Sunday night what I did there.
Rite-Aid brand hand sanitizer($1) is also free after $1 +Ups you get back but I don't need anymore of that.

Anybody see any other good deals for next week?

My Weekly Rite-Aid Trip(s)

I got around to my Rite-Aid trip early this week so here are the long boring details in all their glory......

4 x Dixie Plates BOGO sale($4.49)=$8.98
1 x Fat Foam hair coloring on sale(but 20% discount is lower)=$8.23
2 x R-A brand hand sanitizer($1)=$2.00
1 x Sleep Sheets on sale=$5.00
1 x Max Freeze on sale=$7.00
1 x Sting Ease w/20% wellness discount=$3.43
6 x NYC nail polish w/20% wellness discount(.79¢ea)=$4.74
SubTotal.....$39.38

Coupons Used
1 x $5/1 Fat Foam IPQ=$5.00
1 x $6/1 Fat Foam Store-ad Q=$6.00
1 x $1/1 Sleep Sheets ManuQ in box=$1.00
Coupon Total.....$12.00

$39.38-$12.00=$27.38
I used $27 in +Up Rewards and put the .38¢ left on my Rite-Aid gift card.

I received back $26 in +Up Rewards($2 wyb $6 in Dixie items, 2 x $1 R-A Hand Sanitizer, $5 Sleep Sheets, $7 Max Freeze, $4 Sting Ease-monthly Up+, 2 x $3 wyb 3 select nail polishes).

So all this stuff cost me $1 in +Ups I spent down and .38¢ on my gift card.

* If you buy the Sleep Sheets you might want to open the box and check for a $1 off Q inside....but only if you are buying it for sure!  Or if you have a problem opening it before you pay for it, buy it, THEN open the box and take the Q out and get your cashier to do a 'post coupon' transaction to use the Q.

* The Sting Ease is a monthly +Up deal so continue to look for it on the shelf.  With Wellness discount, you pay less than the value of the +Up Reward you get back.

* Select nail polishes are generating a $3 +Up when you buy 3.  The NYC .99¢ bottles qualify for this deal so there are Free after +Ups or a small moneymaker if you have the silver or gold Wellness discount.

* The Dixie plates/cups are a good deal but not free.  They are BOGO this week so if you buy 4, 2 are free and the 2 you pay for come to $8.98 and after the $2 +Ups you get back, they end up costing you $6.98 or $1.745 each package.  They can be almost free if you also buy......

* The Samy Fat Foam hair color.  With stacking the In-Ad Q and the $5 IPQ you get at least $2.01 in overage to put toward the Dixie plates or anything else you want to buy.

I was planning another trip today but Hubs car(again with the CARS!?ugh)is having work done on it so he has my car today.
So I sneaked back up to Rite-Aid yesterday evening and got more of the same....

More Polish, Sanitizer, Hair Color and Paper Plates.
But I got 6 Dixie products this time because it made more sense.  If you buy 4 with the BOGO sale, you are spending enough to get the $2 +Ups WYB $6 worth AND you are halfway to spending enough to get a second $2 +Ups(because you have spent $9 and the second +Ups triggers at $12 total spent).  So buy a set of 2 items with the first 4, spend another $4.49 OOP for both AND get another $2 +Ups.  Instead of being OOP $1.745 for each item, when you buy 6 at the same time, you are OOP $1.578(after the +Ups are applied).
If you already bought 4 items, you can't go back and buy 2 and get the second $2 +Ups to trigger because this +Ups Deal is NOT tracking.

Anyway, this second trip was $17.58(with .04¢ tax), I used $17 in +Ups to pay and put the .58¢ on my gift card.
I received $12 in +Ups back(2 x$1 Sanitizer, 2 x $2 WYB $6 of Dixie items, 2 x $3 WYB 3 Nail Polish).
I spent down $5 of +Up Rewards this trip but I don't mind since it's stuff we need/use and you can't beat $5 for $49.95 worth of stuff! ;-)

More Rite-Aid fun today!

Note that there is a double dip that runs through today only....the Johnson's Baby products qualify for the J&J Deal AND a monthly for July Spend $15,Get $5 +Up Rewards.(There is a limit of 2 on the monthly deal.)
I incorporated the double dip deal in my Spend $30 Deal and I started today with $14 in +Ups....

2 x Johnson's Naturals Wash/Shampoo on sale BOGO50%=$9.43
2 x Johnson's Baby Powder on sale BOGO50%=$7.18
(These 4 totaled over $15, count toward the $5 monthly AND the $30 weekly deal.)
1 x Reach toothbrush on sale=$2.00
1 x Neosporin on sale=$4.00
1 x Visine reg. w/20% wellness discount=$4.39
2 x Reach floss on sale=$4.00
SubTotal.....$31.00

Coupons Used
2 x $1.50/1 Johnson's Naturals IPQ(facebook)=$3.00
2 x $1/1 Johnson's Powder IPQ(facebook)=$2.00
1 x $1/1 Reach Toothbrush Tearpad Q(from the dentist office)=$1.00
1 x $2/1 Neosporin ManuQ(expires 7/31)=$2.00
1 x $2/1 Visine ManuQ(expires 7/31)=$2.00
1 x $2/1 Visine In-Ad Q=$2.00
2 x $2/1 Reach floss Tearpad Q(dentist office)=$4.00
Coupon Total....$16.00

$31.00-$16.00=$15.00
I used my $14 in +Up Rewards=$1.00 + .25¢ tax=$1.25 OOP, which I put on my gift card.

I received back $15 in +Ups($10 for the Spend $30 Deal and $5 for the Johnson's baby monthly Deal).

Then I finished my 3rd Unilever Deal and bought this stuff here.....

2 x Dove Shampoo on sale=$7.00
2 x Axe Deodorant on sale but Wellness disc. was lower=$8.78
2 x Oral-B indicator Toothbrushes on sale=$2.00
1 x Aim Toothpaste w/20% wellness discount=$.80
1 x Aquafresh Toothpaste on sale=$1.99
1 x Hawaiian Punch drink on sale but Wellness disc. was lower=$.80
1 x Listerine Zero on sale=$4.00
SubTotal....$25.37

Coupons Used
1 x $3/2 Dove Shampoo ManuQ=$3.00
1 x $2/2 Dove Shampoo AdPerkQ=$2.00
2 x $1/1 Axe products ManuQ=$2.00
1 x $2/2 Axe products AdPerkQ=$2.00
1 x $1/2 Oral-B indicator Toothbrushes ManuQ=$1.00
1 x $1/1 Aquafresh Toothpaste IPQ=$1.00
1 x $1/1 Aquafresh Toothpaste AdPerkQ=$1.00
1 x $1/1 Listerine Q on the bottle=$1.00   **YMMV
1 x $1/1 Listerine TearpadQ(from the dentist)=$1.00
1 x $1/1 Listerine AdPerkQ=$1.00
Coupon Total....$15.00

$25.37-$15.00=$10.37
I used $10 in +Ups, leaving $.37 + .04¢ tax=$.41 OOP which I put on my gift card.

I received $7 in +Ups($5 for spending $15 in Unilever products, $2 WYB 3 aim/pepsodent pastes and/or oral-b toothbrushes on sale for $1.)
I add these $7 to the $5 I got from the last transaction that I didn't spend and I now have $12 in +Up Rewards.

If you have the Gold Reward/Discount level you can buy a combination of 3 Aim and/or Pepsodent toothpastes this week for .80 each.  They are "on sale" for $1 but that is the regular price on these 2 items!  Only the Oral-B toothbrushes are actually higher priced than $1 normally.
So buy 3 toothpastes and pay $2.40, and get a $2 +Ups back.  Your "cost is only .40¢ for all 3 tubes.
Great deal if you need toothpaste and don't even need coupons for it.  8-)

The stacking 3 Listerine Qs is a YMMV scenario.  This store lets you use any Q attached to the product, even if you are already using 2 stacked Qs and/or if the attached Q is expired.  Sweet bonus for me.... ;-)
and I bought the Listerine, all things being equal, to get my total after Qs high enough to use my $10 +Ups(I was at $8.77 before I added it).  It got my total up enough to use the +Up Reward AND if I decide to do the "Spend $30 Johnson's/Get $10 Deal" again before the week is over,(there is a limit of 2 on this one), I have $5 already toward the $30 mark.

So I've got $12 in +Ups after this transaction so I then got this stuff.....

2 x Trolli Sour Crawlers on sale $5 bag=$10.00

I used $10 of my +Ups to pay and spent ZERO money.....woohoo.
I received $9 in +Ups back.  This item is part of the "Spend $10 on assorted food items, Get a $3 +Ups back".....on the +Ups it's identified as the "Aquafina" Deal.

But there is some monthly +Up deal on them and EACH BAG also generates a Farley's brand $3 +Ups as well.
So I spent $10 in +Ups and got $9 back.
2 huge sacks of sour gummies for .50¢ each.
I now know what #2 Son will be taking to the Band Camp Pool Party.....lol

Add that $9 to the $2 leftover I didn't spend from 2 transactions back and I have $11 in +Ups.
So I bought this thing next.....

1 x Lanacane cream on sale=$5.00
I used $5 in +Ups($2+$3 ones)and paid ZERO OOP.
This generated a $5 +Ups.
Add that to the $6 in +Ups I didn't spend and I still have $11 +Up Rewards going forward.

If you are keeping score, that's a total of $112.10 worth of stuff I brought home.  I spent $1.66 on my gift card.

In my continuing efforts to NOT buy crap we don't/can't use, I have to account for everything I buy.
Shampoo and deodorant are pretty standard for anyone, as are toothpaste and toothbrushes.  Excess makes it into my Boring Blog Box Giveaways.
First Aid items also needed.  Hubs insists on Mouth Wash.  #2 Son will take that Hawaiian Punch thing to band camp one day.  The only questionable items I bought?.....the baby wash/'poo and powder.
One of the gals at Rite-Aid I have befriended has a baby due in late August.   The wash/'poo and 1 powder will go into a gift bag I intend to make up for her.  If I go back and buy more, she'll get more of that stuff.
I am keeping one of the baby powders for myself.  It's chamomile and lavender scented.... ;-)

Here's the MONTHLY TOTALS so far.....

Out Of Pocket....$16.36 cash
Value of items bought....$65.52+$49.25+$49.19 + $36.01 + $81.35 +$112.10=$393.42

Triskaidekaphobia Friday at Rite-Aid

What makes Friday the 13th even better?
Why going to Rite-Aid and trying to cobble together a deal and laughing in the face of the bad luck gremlins, that's what!

And cobble is what I had to do since we didn't get any Revlon ManuQs lately and my store doesn't even carry the Zest Body Wash(which would have been free after +Ups and Q).  All the adults living here have an AdPerks account so I have access to 4 of each AdPerk Q.  This comes in handy at times and my store doesn't have a problem with me using multiples as long as each one is from a different account.

6 x Powerade drinks on sale .97¢=$5.82
2 x Reach dental floss on sale $3=$6.00
1 x U tampons on sale=$3.99
1 x Bic Big ass charcoal disc thing w/ 20% wellness disc.=$3.99
3 x Revlon scented nail polish 50% off($2.39)=$7.17
1 x Revlon clipper=$3.19
1 x Revlon tweezer 50% off($2.99)=$1.49

2 x $2/1 Reach dental floss TearpadQ(from dentist office)=$4.00

1 x $1/1 U product AdPerkQ=$1.00

3 x $2/1 Revlon nail polish AdPerk Q=$6.00
2 x $2/1 Revlon beauty tool AdPerk Q=$4.00
Coupon Total......$24.50

$31.65-$24.50=$7.15 + $.06 tax=$7.21

I had $7 in +Up Rewards to use up and I put the .21¢ left on my Rite-Aid gift card.
So ZERO out of pocket.

I received $7 in +Up Rewards back...($2 Reach, $1 U tampons, $4 for buying $10 or more in Revlon items).
And since the 2 beauty tools have a reg. retail price combined of $5 or more($5.18 to be exact), I can submit for a $4 SCRebate.

So I rolled my $7 in +Ups AND got paid $4 to buy this stuff.

The 'pons and floss are needs.
The beauty stuff is going into the Xmas stash for Daughter's stocking and the drinks are for the upcoming Bataan Death March Camp....er.....Marching Band Dehydration in the August Sun Camp.

I bought that Bic disc thing well, because with discount and Qs it was free!lol  No, really....we have a table top charcoal grill and if we ever go somewhere we can use it, now we don't have to lug a big bag of briquets with us.  If anyone has used this thing yet, give a shout out and tell us if it works, ok?

As of now, my Monthly Rite-Aid Stats for JULY are....

I still have $4 in +Ups to use this week.

*Though the bottle of iced tea was $1.27 after discount, the coupon rang up $1.59.  This sort of makes up for being overcharge a couple of weeks ago for the Amp drinks. ;-)
**This is the week to use your Renpure Rainchecks....remember the ones you got a few weeks ago that made them free since you couldn't get the +Up Rewards that week?  Use them this week and not only is the shampoo free but you get $2 in +Ups back as well!
*** I've seen some deal blogs tell you to use the $2/1 Oral-B toothbrush Q.  Somehow I don't think that is the right Q to use here?  There is a BOGO Oral-B Q also, which is the one I used(even though I only got the +Ups for 1 of the toothbrushes since it's a Limit of 1).  The BOGO Q specifically says it's for a "manual" toothbrush, while the $2/1 does not, though both Qs say good on a "crossaction" type toothbrush.  If you've had success using the $2/1 Q I'd like to know please.  Success as in, "the Q scanned into the register with no beeps and didn't have to be manually entered". lol
