The End of Rite-Aid Shopping for 10/7-10/13

Here's what I got an Rite-Aid late Saturday afternoon.
This was as soon as I could get around last week to getting back there!
I wanted to hit the larger Rite-Aid downtown because my town's store has less shelf space so lots of times by the time I hit them for a good sale, they are wiped out.
This other Rite-Aid also gets their truck in on Friday's so on Saturday, IF they got wiped out during the week, they get more goodies in for me to buy....woohoo!

So here is what I got.....

2 x Dove for Men Body Wash for $7.  They had them at this store so after $4 in Qs and the $2+Up I got back,, they cost me .50¢ for each bottle.

2 x Colgate Toothpaste at $5.98.  I used 2 x $1/1 ManuQs and after the 2 x $2+Up they generated, this deal was a .02¢ moneymaker.

4 x Trident Gum(16 ct) for $4.  After 2 x BOGO IPQ and the 2 x $1+Up every 2 packs  generated, this was 4 packs of FREE Gum.

2 x Zicam Spray on clearance for $6.48($3.24 ea.).  These clearance ones also generated the $4+Up like the ones on sale for $8.99 did, so after my 2 x $2/1 IPQs and the 2 x $4+Up generated, this deal was a $5.76 moneymaker!

2 x Right guard Soap 6 packs for $3.98($1.99 ea.).  Remember this was on sale a week or so ago?  I got a raincheck because my store didn't have any on the shelf when the sale started even!  I found 2 packs at the downtown store, using my raincheck.  I used a $2/2 IPQ which brought the price down to $1.98.  Then the cashier used a $1/1 PEELIE Q on one of the packages, which means after Qs I paid .98¢ for BOTH 6 packs(or .49 cents for ea.).  Unfortunately I didn't see that the other pack of soap have a $1 PEELIE on it too, or this could have been a .02¢ moneymaker instead.
I do have 2 more packs left on my raincheck so I'll be sure to take the Peelie and stick in on any more packs I buy.....if they don't already have a Peelie on them.  ;-)

1 x Chapstick Overnight on clearance for $1.24.  No Qs or anything....I just wanted to try this.  The clearance price made it tempting enough. lol

SubTotal......$28.68
Coupons Used....$15.00
Total....$13.68 + .55(taxes applied are after +Ups are applied to bill)=$14.23

I used $14 in +Ups from last week and earlier in the week to pay, and put the .23¢ on my gift card.
I received $16 in +Ups back($2 Dove, 2 x $2 Colgate, 2 x $1 Trident, 2 x $4 Zicam).

I got all pictured above for free plus I grew my +Ups by $2.

I plan to give the Zicam spray to #1 son and #2 son.  The gum is for Hubs.  The body wash and soap are also for the menfolk here.  Look for the Colgate to come to a giveaway on the blog in the near future. ;-)

Now I'm off to study the new weekly ads.
I'm in no hurry to roll +Ups this week but if I see something good I will go in.

Triskaidekaphobia Friday at Rite-Aid

What makes Friday the 13th even better?
Why going to Rite-Aid and trying to cobble together a deal and laughing in the face of the bad luck gremlins, that's what!

And cobble is what I had to do since we didn't get any Revlon ManuQs lately and my store doesn't even carry the Zest Body Wash(which would have been free after +Ups and Q).  All the adults living here have an AdPerks account so I have access to 4 of each AdPerk Q.  This comes in handy at times and my store doesn't have a problem with me using multiples as long as each one is from a different account.

6 x Powerade drinks on sale .97¢=$5.82
2 x Reach dental floss on sale $3=$6.00
1 x U tampons on sale=$3.99
1 x Bic Big ass charcoal disc thing w/ 20% wellness disc.=$3.99
3 x Revlon scented nail polish 50% off($2.39)=$7.17
1 x Revlon clipper=$3.19
1 x Revlon tweezer 50% off($2.99)=$1.49
SubTotal.....$31.65

Coupons Used
3 x $1.50/2 Powerade/Dasani AdPerk Q=$4.50
2 x $2/1 Reach dental floss TearpadQ(from dentist office)=$4.00
1 x $1/1 U product ManuQ(Sunday inserts)=$1.00
1 x $1/1 U product AdPerkQ=$1.00
1 x $2/1 Bic disc Rite-Aid Q link sent to my email=$2.00
1 x $2/1 Bic disc Facebook ManuQ(its' a SS Q)=$2.00
3 x $2/1 Revlon nail polish AdPerk Q=$6.00
2 x $2/1 Revlon beauty tool AdPerk Q=$4.00
Coupon Total......$24.50

$31.65-$24.50=$7.15 + $.06 tax=$7.21

I had $7 in +Up Rewards to use up and I put the .21¢ left on my Rite-Aid gift card.
So ZERO out of pocket.

I received $7 in +Up Rewards back...($2 Reach, $1 U tampons, $4 for buying $10 or more in Revlon items).
And since the 2 beauty tools have a reg. retail price combined of $5 or more($5.18 to be exact), I can submit for a $4 SCRebate.

So I rolled my $7 in +Ups AND got paid $4 to buy this stuff.

The 'pons and floss are needs.
The beauty stuff is going into the Xmas stash for Daughter's stocking and the drinks are for the upcoming Bataan Death March Camp....er.....Marching Band Dehydration in the August Sun Camp.

I bought that Bic disc thing well, because with discount and Qs it was free!lol  No, really....we have a table top charcoal grill and if we ever go somewhere we can use it, now we don't have to lug a big bag of briquets with us.  If anyone has used this thing yet, give a shout out and tell us if it works, ok?

As of now, my Monthly Rite-Aid Stats for JULY are....

Out Of Pocket....$0.00 cash
Value of items bought....$65.52+$49.25=$114.77
Single Check Rebate due....$4.00

+Ups at beginning of month...$33+
+Ups used....$37+

You've got one more day to work these deals at Rite-Aid.  New sales week coming up on Sunday.

Rite-Aid for Nerds...Another Torturous Math Post

So I am trying to get to the $100 in qualifying products in order to get my $20 +Up Reward to print.
When last we visited our intrepid bargain hunter(that would be ME!), she had made a purchase at Rite-Aid that should have netted her $95 toward her $100 goal, but $9 mysteriously didn't add to her tracking total.  The details of that transaction are located in this post HERE.

So your intrepid bargain hunter(Me again)went back to Rite-Aid on Saturday.
And I bought the suspected 18oz. 'special' Axe body wash bottles with me to exchange for 12oz. 'normal' sized bottles.....
I exchanged my Axe bottles for smaller ones(even exchange so no money involved BUT I did make them ring it all up so the credit toward the reward would be recognized).
I also added an Axe deodorant to the transaction.
And my suspicions were confirmed!  Those 50% MORE bottles were not coded to count toward the Reward!

Now, the Axe deal was you had to buy in units of TWO to get the 2/$9 price.  Buying a single item you paid $4.99 instead of $4.50.
BUT....the deodorant regular price is $5.49(in this store), and applying my 20% wellness discount, MY price for a single item came to $4.39, which is less than the sale price on a single item purchase.  If your wellness discount is lower than the sale price, you get the wellness price instead.
So I owed $4.39 on this transaction.
I used the $1/1 Axe ManuQ from the Sunday inserts, making my total $3.39.
I used the $3 +Up Reward I got for buying the Thermacare dohickey earlier in the week, so I owed .39 + .03 tax=$.42 OOP.
This was put on my ever present Rite-Aid gift card. ;-)

My receipt showed my $20 Resolution Reward total was now....
$99.
ack

$1 away from getting to $100 and my reward.

So I bought this back at the pharmacy register when I went to pick up a prescription.....

2 x Reese's PBCups on sale BOGO=$.99
I put the whole .99¢ on my gift card.
And miracle of miracles, my $20 Resolution Reward printed out.
Yay me!

So let's recap these transactions, shall we?
I did 6 transactions to get to $100 in spending credit to get my $20 the Resolution Reward.
Because of sales, coupons used and other +Up Rewards earned/used, I 'spent' $5.98 OOP for all that stuff I bought.
Well I 'would have' spent $5.98 OOP except all that was covered by my Rite-Aid gift card, which cost me Zero money.
Gotta love that, right? ;-)

Now that I've gotten my $20 Reward, it's time to work on getting the BIL his $20 Reward.
Here's what BIL bought.....

4 x Stayfree on sale 2/$5=$10.00
2 x Clean & Clear Scrub on sale BOGO50%=$10.48
2 x Visine 20% wellness discount($4.39)=$8.78
1 x Bengay 20% wellness discount=$5.19
SubTotal....$34.45

Coupons Used
4 x $1/1 Stayfree(2 ManuQ/2 IPQ)=$4.00
2 x $1/2 Stayfree In-AdQ=$2.00
2 x $2/1 Clean&Clear IPQ=$4.00
2 x $1/1 Clean&Clear AdPerks/VVQ=$2.00
2 x $2/1 Visine IPQ=$4.00
2 x $2/1 Visine In-AdQ=$4.00
1 x $2/1 Bengay ManuQ=$2.00
1 x $2/1 Bengay In-AdQ=$2.00
Coupon Total....$24.00

$34.45-$24.00=$10.45 +.17¢ tax=$10.62
I used $10 in +Ups and put .62¢ on the trusty Rite-Aid gift card.

BIL's card now had $34 tracking toward the $100 in purchases toward the $20 Reward.
He also earned the $10 J&J +Up Reward for this purchase.

Then we did this transaction.....
2 x Axe Body Wash on sale 2/$9=$9.00
1 x Axe Deodorant wellness discount=$4.39
2 x Hall's cough drops on sale=$3.00
2 x Hershey candy bars on sale BOGO=$.99
SubTotal....$17.38

Coupons Used
1 x Axe BOGO ManuQ=$4.50
1 x $1/1 Axe Deodorant ManuQ=$1.00
1 x $1/2 Hall's cough drops IPQ=$1.00
Coupon Total....$6.50

$17.38-$6.50=$10.88 +.02 tax=$10.90
We used the just earned $10 +Up Reward and put the .90¢ on the Rite-Aid gift card.
BIL earned a $1 +Up Reward for the cough drops.
BIL's card has $51 tracking toward his $20 +Up Resolution Reward.
$49 more in purchases and he hits the $100 mark.

And we've spent $1.52 on the gift card to get him halfway to that Reward.

Next week, we 'spend' $49 to get his Reward but we don't pay any money OOP.
Come back then to see how we get there!

Do you shop at Rite-Aid?
What great deals have you gotten there lately?

More Rite-Aid Shopping for Free & e-Coupon Program Problems

So I went back to Rite-Aid on Tuesday night and bought another set of the items I bought on the 2nd with a couple of additions......
The additional items were the 6 pair of No Nonsense Socks and the big bottle of Alcohol(rubbing, not drinking). ;-)

The socks were on a raincheck from early in December when they were BOGO50%off and gave a $3 +Up Rewards wyb 2 pair.  $1.99 socks, 1/2 off 2nd pr. at $.99=$2.98 w/ $3 +Up wyb 2=FREE Socks!

The Ear Buds I have a raincheck for are still out of stock so no Freebies there yet.

The alcohol......oh my.  If you go onto Rite-Aid's website you'll see that they are touting their "load your coupons onto your loyalty card so you don't have to use paper coupons" program.  Yes, Rite-Aid is attempting to step into the electronic age like the grocery store chains that have e-coupons.
Unfortunately, Rite-Aid's system is NOT working.  I loaded an e-coupon for .50¢ off a 32. oz. bottle of 70% Rite-Aid brand Rubbing Alcohol onto my Wellness Card a couple of days before heading out to buy the bottle in the photo.  While I got my 20% Wellness discount on the item, the coupon did NOT come off my order.
Bleh!

Now I get the great joyful job of calling corporate customer service about this newest snafu.  I guess I'll bring up the Orbit gum deal from before Christmas when I didn't get my $3 in +Ups back for buying 3 packs of gum that week too.
I plan on voicing my displeasure about something always not ringing up right/+Ups not printing right that seems to be de rigeur at Rite-Aid lately.
To have everything go smoothly at the register would just be a pleasure I haven't had in a great while!

UPDATE**
Just got off the phone with Rite-Aid.  This was the second call, the first girl was a Wellness person and couldn't help me with this e-coupon issue so she transferred me and after 4 min. on hold they disconnected me. grrrr
So I called back and explained the issue and was told I am one of the first to call about problems with the e-coupons(LUCKY ME!!!)in the country.  I am suppose to get a call back from some High Mucky-Muck about this issue to see what is going on.
Frankly I don't CARE what is going on, I just want my .50¢ discount!
And I want to stop having issues with Rite-Aid EVERY TIME I TURN AROUND!

At any rate, I spent $5 in +Up Rewards, put the remaining $.79 OOP on my free Rite-Aid gift card and received $2 in +Up Rewards back for the Centrum Supplements.
No cash spent out of pocket yet again.

This order brought me up to $50 toward earning the $20 Resolution +Up Reward.  $50 left to spend to get that.
I can also submit for another $4 in Centrum supplement SCRs and the Oral-B toothbrush SCR under BIL's account.

I have to go back to Rite-Aid before Saturday night, as I still have $3 in +Ups expiring this week.
I don't know what I'll spend that on.  There is nothing I 'need' that's cheap this week.  I could get some Pantene conditioner for #2 son but since he cut his hair he isn't using it as much.  I'll find something we can use that also qualifies toward the Resolution Reward.

What has everyone else bought at Rite-Aid this week?
And have you tried loading and using the e-coupons on your Wellness card yet?

Christmas Shopping a la Alex P. Keaton

If you even KNOW who Alex P. Keaton is, you are of a certain like me. ;-)

I am referring to Michael J. Fox's character from the old sitcom Family Ties.
They did an episode one Christmas that was a retelling of the classic Dickens "A Christmas Carol", with Alex as Scrooge.  Alex is all about the money and he doesn't believe in spending it on gifts, even at Christmas.
After he has his epiphany on Christmas morn, he goes and buys his family Christmas presents but the only place open on Christmas morning is a 7-11 convenience store.  He ends up buying cups of coffee for his loved ones.

In the spirit of Alex P. Keaton a la Scrooge, I also buy Christmas gifts at the non-traditional outlets.  The closest 7-11 is over an hour's drive so I just hop down the road to, where else?....Rite-Aid! ;-)

I bought 2 Axe Shower Gels(for someone's stocking).  They are on sale $4.49 this week and give a $1 +Up Reward.
I also bought 4 bags of Ricola cough drops(some of these are for someone else's stocking).  They are on sale 2/$3.00 this week and give a $1 WYB 2 Bags +Up Reward.

I had a FREE Item Q for the Axe from Facebook, as well as a $2/1 ManuQ from this past Sunday's Q inserts.
I also had 2 BOGO Free Qs for Ricola drops from a previous Sunday's Q inserts.  The specifics are buy a Dual Action Ricola and get ANY Ricola free.  The Dual Action were on sale along with the other varities of Ricola drops.

I also used $4 in +Up Rewards and ended up with .03¢ OOP on this transaction.
I received $4 in +Up Rewards back, so all this ended up costing me .03¢ on my free Rite-Aid gift card.

My subtotal after Qs should have been $5.49, so after using the $4 in +Up Reward, this should have cost me $1.49 instead of .03¢.
But the cashier put the Free Ricolas through for $2.23 instead of $1.50.  Looking at the receipt now this  is what the reg. price for the non-dual action ones is for me with my 20% wellness discount.  So I got $1.46 bonus off on the 2 bags that were free.

$23.54 worth of stuff for .03¢ off my gift card.
And 4 more stocking stuffers checked off the list.
