CVS Haul

4I know I am nuts to get back on the CVS merry-go-round...........but I did.

Here is what I got.......

All but the hair color was an online order to pick-up.  By doing an online order I got an additional 20% off by using their code.

The toothbrush was $1.55.4
The Crest was $1.55
The Chiggerex was $4.66
One of the Cover Girl palettes was $1.96.
**They were out of the other Cover Girl palettes I ordered so cancelled that one so I had to buy a different one in the store when I went to pick up my order.
The 2 Tom's of Main toothpaste, one was $2.25 and the other was $2.67.

All this totaled $14.64 after using my $2.02 in ECBs.

I earned back $5 for the 2 Crest/Oral-B items, $2 for the Tom's of Maine and $5 for the Chiggerex.

I told the manager I had to get another eye pallet for the ECB reward so she said she would force print me the $6 ECB in case something went wrong with buying one in a separate  transaction.  The eye palette bought in store cost me .53¢ and another $6 ECB printed out.

Which is good because for some reason I can't link my Ibotta account to my CVS account so I was unable to get $4.00 back on Ibotta for those two Tom's of Maine. 8-(

I  then bought 2 Clairol Touch-up Hair Colors.  I had a BOGO paper coupons which glitched with the CVS digital BOGO Q so both of those were free(just tax).  And I earned $6 in ECBs for buying those.

Now I have $28 in ECBs and .45¢ in 2% back in rewards.  .16¢ in those 2% rewards expire 7/24 but all the ECBs don't expire until 8/9 so I've got some time to either use them on stuff for my brother and sister in-law while in VA or roll them into more ECBs and use those later when I get back to LA for more items to take to the food bank.

As for all I got on this trip-I'll be selling the hair color locally, keeping the Chiggerex and the rest will go to the food bank(except the eye make-up, those will go into a giveaway box).

What deals did you find at the drug stores this week?

Frugal Friday....the June 14th Edition

Some good frugal things happened around here this past week.............

*  Since the weather has been so cool and rainy I went ahead and planted some lettuce.  It's a bit late for that around here but I had some old seeds sitting in a bag so no money spent!

And they've already sprouted.  We may get something big enough to pick by the time we get back from New Hampshire.  I love getting almost free veggies!

*  I ordered my bi-pap supplies this past week.  There is a tubing length I need that runs from the oxygen concentrater to the bi-pap that they aren't allowed to order for me.....it has to be ordered from the "oxygen" department of their company so she transferred me to that department.

Twenty minutes later that CS person still couldn't find the item I needed and then they dropped the call.  Not wanting to get caught up in that frustrating crap again, I just went on eBay and looked for the item(you don't need a Rx for it and it's something you can sell there).

I found a listing for TWO of what I wanted for $5.95 w/free shipping.  I also had a $5 off Q from eBay so 2 lengths of tubing cost me $1.95 OOP.
The DME company was selling me 40 ft. of tubing(I only need 10 ft.)and after insurance was charging me $10+ per length of tubing for a copay.  Can you say rip-off???

And even better my eBay(from an Alabama DME no less)tubing showed up a day earlier than the order I places with my insurance's DME company. lolz

*  I found money!

A quarter under a display I saw while checking out at Walmart.

And a penny while walking out of Walmart.

*  And speaking of Walmart, I found these for cheap there...........

Cotton blankets.  We've been looking for a deal on lightweight blankets for our beds.  Went around a corner and these were on clearance; the king and full/queen were $5 each and the twin was $4.50.

Regular price on the shelf for the king was $29.96 though the clearance tag on the package was $24.96.  At either price, paying $5 was a great deal!  Not the colors I would have necessarily have picked(these were all they had)but we have one of each of these sizes of beds here now.

*  Then I found more money!

I went into Dollar Tree to pick something up for Hubs and found three more pennies!

*  Since I was driving right by this store, I went into Dollar General for this deal.......

$5 off wyb 2 of these gift cards.  The lowest amount available was $15 so I got $30 total in gift cards for $25 so somewhere between 16%  and 17% off regular price.  This wasn't a great deal(sometimes the discount is more)so I only got a couple gift cards to use on our trip.

*  Remember that free specialty burger I got from Mickey D's last week?.....

Since I knew we'd be going to Mickey D's for breakfast when we left for New Hampshire next week I did the survey on the receipt and got a validation code.
Now we can get a BOGO free deal on our 2 breakfast sandwiches when we leave for our trip.

*  I picked up some FREE nail polish at Rite-Aid............

The Kokie Cosmetics website has a $4/1 Q good at Rite-Aid. Don't know if it's still there but go check it out.
R-A Q.  It's a PDF so save it to your computer to print it out.  TIP-The register WILL take multiple of that Q in one transaction ,if your cashier will let you, otherwise, you'll have to buy them 1 at a time.

Anyway, Kokie items are Spend $12/Get $6 BC this week and if you have the 20% Wellness discount level the $4.99 nail polish is $3.99.  Add in a cheap candy because there will be .01¢ of overage you need to cover.
I got 4 bottles(to get to the $12+ level so the $6 BC would print)and 3 candies.
4 x $3.99=$15.96 + 3 candies at .57¢=$16.53-$16 in Qs=.53¢ OOP.
Cost was .53¢ after Qs which was paid with my Bonus Cash and I earned $6 in new BC back making this a $5.47 moneymaker.

If you have Silver level discount(10% off reg. prices)the nail polish will be $4.49 and you'll only need 3 bottles to hit the $12 mark and won't need a candy because you won't have overage.
3 x $4.49=$13.47-3 x $4/1 KokieQ=$1.47(plus tax if applicable)and you'll earn the $6 BC so a $4.52 moneymaker which is still pretty nice. 8-)

*  I had $5 in ECB expiring on Thursday so I hit CVS too........

I already blogged about this trip yesterday.  All of the above was free and earned me $5 in new ECBs.

*  I had a 15% off chit for Ollie's(Good Stuff Cheap!)that was expiring this Sunday so Hubs and I went to the one that usually has a large clearance section in the town South of us and they did not disappoint!

Most of the discounted stuff but not all of what we bought.  These were the items that were clearanced, 50%, 60% or 75% off.
(Plus 2 more of the gallons of peach iced tea not in the photo.)

The Thinster's cookies were .50¢ea., the bread crumbs were .40¢ea., the pop-tarts were .50¢ea., the tea was .52¢ea., the slow cooker sauce was .25¢, the caramel cookie chips were .50¢ea., the caramel popcorn was .99¢ and the pb crackers were .89¢.
There was also another snacky thing, 6 jars of spices, 2 microwave mug items, a lb. of roasted almonds, a canister of french fried onions, a can of pie filling and 2 bags of pretzel rods.
$71.74 reg retail and w/the 15% off Q, and the 40-75% off on the clearance stuff I paid $24.13 OOP for all of it.
8-)))

*  I also found money at Rite-Aid........

A dime under one of the chairs in the waiting area by the pharmacy.
I finished the week at finding a total of .39¢ in change.
Nice.

*  There was NO Weis(PMITA)Markets freebie for me this past week.  It was pre-cooked, packaged hard boiled eggs so I took a pass.  Heck I didn't even darken Weis' door all week!

What frugal goodness happened in your world this past week?
Tell us what wins y'all had! ;-)

Curse You CVS, Curse You!

So after my misguided venture out to CVS I thought I had spent down all my script(actually converted it into a $10 Cash Card)only to see I had earned a $3 ECB for the Beauty Club?
Drat!
This meant I had to go back into their clutches.........

So Hubs and I ran some errands and I went to a nearby CVS to spend $3.

The Suave gold bottles of shampoo/conditioner were on sale $3 each wyb2, so $6.....and they had a rose oil type that Rite-Aid here doesn't carry.
And I had a $3/2 Q loaded to my CVS card too so it meant nothing OOP for buying these 2.

And then I got $3 Extra Care Bucks for buying this too!

So I bought this next.......

These were the $3.49 each so $6.98.
I had a $2/1 Colgate ManuQ from Sunday's inserts and I also had a $2/1 CRT Q the kiosk printed off last week when I was in the store.
$6.98-$4Qs=$2.98, so I used my just earned for the Suave $3 ECB to pay.

Again nothing OOP.
And a $4 ECB printed for buying 2 Colgate toothpastes along with a $5 off wyspend $15 on cosmetics Q.
I had 2 Maybelline Qs attached to my CVS card-$1 lip product and $2 off mascara.
I also had the kiosk print a $3 any Maybelline item CRT when I scanned my card upon entering the store.
Hmmmm......

I went back in and got this even though I knew it would mean spending a couple of dollars of my WAM..........

Super Stay lipstick  $9.49
Snapscara mascara in purple! $7.79
SubTotal......$17.28

Coupons Used
$2/1 Maybelline mascara
$1/1 Maybelline lipstick
$3 any Maybelline item
$5/$15 cosmetic purchase
$4 ECB just earned on toothpaste
Coupon Total.......$15.00

$17.28-$15=$2.28 + .14¢=$2.42 OOP

And I earned a $5 ECB......sigh........

And I should have earned another $3 Beauty Club ECB but it's not showing up yet though it is showing tracking of $1.26 toward another Beauty Club ECB reward.
So that's $8 in ECB I now have to use. lolz

At this rate I'll never get free of CVS' clutches, will I?

Look What I Did Now

While out and about hauling in the After Christmas Deals I went into CVS, some place I hardly EVER go into anymore.

And this stuff followed me home..............

When you purchase $15 in select Gold Emblem/Abound snacks/nuts this week you earn a $5 Extra Bucks Reward.
I happened to print off some CVS Qs for these items before I went and all 6 items were also on sale(not all that qualify for this offer are on sale).

$15.96 before Qs, $4 off w/Qs  made this $11.96 OOP.

$5 ECB back.
Now I just have to make sure I remember to go back to CVS before this expires to roll/use it.
All but the crackers are for College Boy to take back to school as part of his "snack/alternate meal 'because the dining hall food is inedible tonight' stash".  ;-)

I have spent quite a bit this week restocking College Boy with goodies for next semester and it's all coming out of the $100 I put aside of the $300 food budget this month for that use.

Frankly I don't care to be playing more than one Drugstore Game at the time and I will be bowing out of CVS-ing again as soon as I can.  I just wanted to reacquaint myself with CVS again since my beloved Rite-Aids will be becoming Walgreens later this year and I don't see a future for us together when this comes to pass.  8-(

What? Not a Rite-Aid Post?! Diving back into CVSing....

So I get an email the other week inviting me to take a CVS survey.  For a few minutes of my time and $5 in ECBs, I'm there!lol

I've been out of the CVS game since last fall.  I decided to use this $5 ECBs and the portion left on my CVS Gift Card to jump back into CVSing.

1/9/10 Transaction

1 x SoyJoy box=$6.00
Used the $5ECB.
$6.00-$5.00=$1.00 OOP  Put on a CVS gift card
Received $6 ECBs

These boxes of Soy Joy are in the Bonus Pack Aisle with all the other specials that are available until 2/14.

I had some All $2/1 Qs that were expiring the 10th that I wanted to use and CVS had All for $3.99 a bottle that week.  I was going to use those Qs at Rite-Aid(of course!lol)because I had a raincheck from when Rite-Aid had the All for $3.99 also, but everytime I go to Rite-Aid they either don't have any All or only 1 bottle.  So it was back into the store to use those Qs and get a few more things as well.

1/9/10 Part II Transaction
3 x All Detergent on sale $3.99=$11.97
2 x Oust Spray $3.99=$5.98
2 x Rubbermaid Containers $1.99BOGO=$1.99

Coupon Total.....$22.99

$31.18-$22.99=$10.19+$.58tax=$10.77 OOP Put on CVS Gift Card
Received $6 ECBs(2x3 Oust).
So I used my $6 ECBs, got $6 more and used my $2 All Qs with nothing OOP.
And there is a Full Price Refund on the Bioluxe Conditioner, so I'll be getting $9.99 back on this purchase.

And for all you Compacters out there, yes, I totally did buy NEW PLASTIC containers here!
Ugh.
But they were FREE after Qs and we needed them.
Buying New Total for 2010.....2+$0OOP
Compacting.....0

This week the Sis-in-law wanted to go to CVS so off we went again this week.  I wanted to get some of the Bonus Pack Buys of the Nature's Bounty MyLife Vitamins.  The ones in the special aisle display are BOGO $9.99 for 2 Bottles.  I read somewhere online(frugalsuz.blogspot.com perhaps?)that Nature's Bounty has a website where you can get IPQs for their products by submitting codes off of bottles that you buy.  Since I have a TON of chewable Vitamin C plus other NB vitamins I bought at Rite-Aid(where else?lol)the past few months for basically free or $1 after coupons, I went online and fairly shortly I had enough points to redeem for some $5 off Nature's Bounty Qs...sweet!
So we were off to CVS.....

1/15/10 Transaction

2 x Your Life Vitamins BOGO=$9.99
1 x CVS Juice on sale=$2.50
1 x SoftSoap Hand Soap=$3.99

$16.48-$15.00=$1.48 OOP  Put on CVS Gift Card
Received $3ECBs(WYB 2 Nature's Bounty)& $2ECBs(WYB Bonus SoftSoap)=$5ECBs

*****
I didn't realize until I got home and went over my receipt that I didn't spend enough to use that $5 off $20 Coupon!
EEK!
I was thinking each Vitamin purchase counted.....total on those was $19.98 BEFORE the BOGO so with the juice and soap was over $20.
But that cashier never even said BOO about the situation....if she had I would have turned bright red and bought more.  I reallly wasn't trying to pull a fast one here.  For lack of a better phrase, My Bad.lol

I'm up to $11ECBs at this point.

I was over by that CVS again this morning, so I went back in for more Vitamins....this time I bought enough to use the $5 off Q.lol
