  2. Favorite Christmas toy was without a doubt my cabbage patch doll that my dad stood in line at kmart for 18 hours in the cold to get. Mind you I was a little to old for dolls at that point but my daddy wanted me to have it so it was the best present ever. I still have it

  3. The best present I ever received was from Santa when I was six-years-old.Under the tree was the pile of toys from the Wish Book. Okay, maybe it was just a doll and three books. I don't know. But, there was a pile of boards and a pile of material--all mine.

It seems Santa ran out of time and knew my father could build anything since he built with his own two hands our house we lived in. Mama sewed and made lots for the house and all our clothing. When Daddy got through, I had a tiny Hoosier cabinet. Mama made me a doll quilt.

Right now, the Hoosier cabinet is four feet from me and the little "quilt" is withing six inches of my chair.

The best part was that I got to watch both my parents make my gift from Santa. Okay, I had not thought this Santa thing through and believed with all my heart that Santa would bring wood and fabric to a child.

Oh, I did receive a carousel to wind up, not even battery-operated. Plus, there was and easel chalk board and white chalk. But, they

Before Christmas, I will post about it and have a picture ready.

  4. You are on my blog roll. I have a recipe that uses candy corn for Christmas candy. I could really use that candy corn.

  5. One on my favorite Christmas toys was a set of child's golf clubs. I was 7, and both my parents golfed. I was so excited to be able to "play" golf with them on the golf course. Thank God for their patience!

  6. I remember the bike I got when I was 6. Santa brought it and I rode it well past time I needed a bigger bike. When I finally got a bigger bike, I sold this one to the neighbor kid for $5.

  7. I'm a follower and sure could use what's in that box. :-)

One of the gifts I've received which is most special was a little black baby doll, about 10" long, which I received in 1963 when I was 4 years old. It was from my grandmother, and one of my cousins was given the same doll, wearing a different colored dress. I have a snapshot of me holding the doll, and standing between my parents who are seated. I still have the doll. She has been clothingless for decades. I've recently found her again in a box of some things stored away, and I am thinking she needs a pretty new wardrobe and her own quilt.

  8. Another favorite Christmas was more recent. Five years ago my husband surprised me with a pressure washer. I spent many hours pressure washing the house, garage, shed, driveway.... just about anything that did not move was fair game. :)

  11. My favourite gift was a trip to New York City. We were probably going to go on our school break anyways, but getting a travel guide for Christmas and spending the next couple of months planning every detail was so much fun!

  12. Another favorite gift....Farberware cookie sheets. Hubby was so proud that he got free cake pans with them.

  13. Another favorite Christmas present was a rental guitar and guitar lessons. This was for my 12th birthday. Alas.... the guitar thing did not last, good thing the guitar was a rental.

  14. Last year, Hubby got me a waffle iron. I wanted one for a long time, but just kept refusing to spend the money. LOL! I love it!

  15. My kids laugh at me because I like "as seen on tv" gadgets. One year Hubby got me one of those Finishing Touch things. The kids laughed like crazy. I love it!
