Frugal Friday.....the January 4th Edition

Let's take a look at the frugality that happened around here during the first week of January 2019.......

*   Last Friday I headed to Weis for the Fantastic Friday Deals.......

These jars of fruit were BOGOF and I paired the sale with a couple of  ManQs which meant I paid $1 each for them.

I picked up this whole eye roast for $2.50 lb., a fabulous price!  I'll cut this in half and have 2 big roast meals sometime this year.

Weis also had this artisanal Sauerkraut on sale for .67¢ a jar when you bought 3.  Since St. Pat's day will be here before you know it and I have 2 corned beefs in the freezer this purchase will come in handy for March.  Plus Hubs like kraut on his hot dogs so IF there is any leftover after that, he'll make quick work of this. ;-)

*  I found money.....or so I thought..........

While in Rite-Aid I spied a penny on the floor but as I approached it, it turned out to be a kid's play money.
Whomp whomp

*  I got the Friday Freebie at Weis last week.............

A jar of dill pickles.  We will definitely eat these.

*  I hit the 75% off clearance for Xmas stuff at Rite-Aid and Weis.
First Rite-Aid............

After taking stock of wrapping supplies on hand, I picked up 1 box of Xmas cards, 2 bags of bows, 1 package of gift boxes and 1 container of gift containers.  I also bought the holiday wrapped hand soap pumps as they were .82¢ each.
But no wrapping paper was picked up for cheap.   I went through the wrapping paper we have and was able to send 4 rolls off to Salvation Army(or it might end up on the local FB site being given away for free).  It's all kiddie themed paper we don't use anymore.

I also bought ahead for next Xmas some gifts at 75% off......but I can't show any of that in case certain people are snooping on the blog.  ;-)

But I can show y'all all this.........

Chocolate, hot cocoa mix and beauty sets I picked up at R-A for cheap to put into Giveaway Boxes in 2019....woohoo!

And at Weis I picked up this stuff........

The wine gift bags(for us as we were out of those)were .50¢ each, the Kisses were $1 a bag(for next year's fudge making), the Panettone for $2(that's a gift), the fudge kits for .50¢ a box after a doubled coupon(for cheap sweets during the year).  The ginbgerbread air fresheners were $1 each(and are for next Xmas)but the Hershey's Gold bags?......the Hershey Gold bags cost me .25¢ each after their $1 price and my doubled coupons and they are also for putting into Giveaway Boxes this year! 8-)))

*  And I pillaged Rite-Aid on Wellness Wednesday as I already posted about..........

First my few samples from the Wellness table.

And then all the goodies they paid me $$ to take home.............

And some of this too will be going into Giveaways during the course of this year!

*  I cashed out all my rebate app monies in mid December.  As of today I have $15.85 in Ibotta, $8 in SavingStar and the $12.50 I carried over from 2018 in Checkout51.

It was a great start to 2019 in terms of discounted goods and/or freebies....not such a great start for finding change. lolz

Frugal Friday.....the September 14th Edition

Let's take a look at what frugal stuff went on here at Chez Sluggy this past week........

*  I went to Weis(PMITA)Markets and got the Friday Freebie last Friday.

A bag of cheese sticks.

*  The local Shursave markets also had a freebie last week if you downloaded a digital coupon to your card..........

A 2 lb. bag of onions.

*  I spent enough at Dollar General on P&G items that I got this........

$5 Off On Your Next Order Coupon.  I've got a couple weeks to figure out how best to use it.  I'll let y'all know what I get. ;-)

*  Hubs and I went out to lunch this week.  Red Lobster has "Endless Shrimp" and I like to go once a year and get lots of shrimp.  "Endless Shrimp" for me nowadays means 4 helpings of shrimp(I eat the salad but not the other side and only have 1 biscuit)so not so "endless". lolz
I had $ left on a gift card(plus a whole 'nother gift card)I had gotten last Fall and we had used in the Spring to take Hubs out for his birthday so the meal just cost us the $7.75 tip which we paid out of our WAM.

Oh, I also used a coupon to get $4 off our dinners too. (Photo is of the lunch Q I have left that we didn't use.)
Is it just me or have the shrimp they use for Endless Shrimp gotten tiny?

*  Here's the stuff I got at Rite-Aid this week.

After sales, coupons, bonus cash and extra bonus cash for that shit show return and rebuy, all this was better than free.  8-)))

*  I've been booking motel stays for our upcoming trip.

Last month R-A had a Hotels.com gift card deal where I got $16 in BC for buying a $100 gift card.
I bought 3, 1 on each card/account and earned $16 in BC on each Wellness account.  When I booked rooms going through Hotels.com I also used my Ibotta app so after we've completed our stays at those motels I'll also get a bit of cash back.
She shoots, she scores! lolz

*  Still harvesting tomatoes out in the little garden here.........

Another 35.8 ounces of goodness.

That's about it for us this week.

Frugal Friday.....the August 31st Edition

Happy Labor Day Weekend to everyone!

So let's get to the frugal things that happened this past week at Chez Sluggy.........

*  I went to Weis Markets last Friday and got the freebie plus used a rain check..........

The seltzer was the freebie with a Weis digital coupon.
The ice cream was $2.99 per box with my rain check, plus I had 2 x .75¢ IPQs which each doubled to $1.50.  And I had a digital .75¢/1 Q in my Weis account which also doubled to $1.50 and came off on this order so I got both Ice creams and the seltzer for $1.48 total.

I also earned $2.25 back on SavingStar for buying the ice cream so I got paid .77¢ to bring all 3 home.  ;-)

*  I found some money in the Rite-Aid parking lot.......

A quarter!  This goes into the change pot and will get applied to the grocery budget at the end of the year.

*  Still harvesting garden veggies too......

Not many but I have another photo I haven't taken yet of what's been picked since last Friday.

*  Hubs and I went out for our Anniversary Lunch on Tuesday to Longhorn Steakhouse.  I had an old gift card with $38+ on it and I brought along a $3 off 2 lunches Q.  With tip after Q and gift card our steak lunches cost $13.11 OOP.

*  Hubs and I went to a pick your own farm on Monday and picked all this.......

23 lbs. of tomatoes and 19 lbs. of peppers.
With the corn, cabbage and eggplant we didn't pick but  bought as well it cost $29.60.  Had I bought all that at the grocery stores it would have cost $78 or so OOP.
Just going to the source of fresh produce and doing a bit of the work yourself can save you loads on your food bill.

*  Lots of grocery shopping this week.........

Some of the freebies from Target(using a free gift card to pay).

Freebies from Rite-Aid(using sales, coupons and Bonus Cash).

Cheap shopping trip to Weis(PMITA)Markets.

*  I earned cash rebates totaling $19.50 this week on Ibotta and SavingStar.  I love when I get paid to buy stuff!  Those rebates brought down my weekly food spending to $91.13 from $110.63(though I add the rebates back into the food budget at the end of the year, not when earned).

*  Don't know if this is very frugal but I have taken lots of produce(both from our garden and from the farm we visited)and turned them into canned veggies for use this Winter........

Here are 6 quarts of tomatoes(there is another one in the fridge)canned and processed on Wednesday.

And here are 14 pints of my secret recipe Pepper Relish I also processed that day.

Like I said, after you add in all the costs(produce, gas to get to the farm, electricity to can them, other items needed)this might not be frugal but.........
I know what goes into this stuff I can(no preservatives other than lemon juice in the maters)and with the relish, if I didn't make it, we wouldn't have it because you can't buy this stuff in a store, as nobody sells something exactly like it. ;-)

So what frugal wins did y'all have this week?
