This Week on the Dining Table

The "Interesting Potato Chip  Flavor" Edition.....

At the Bread Outlet last week they had a whole row of chips.
Have you ever heard of/had Spicy Cajun Crawtators before?
It's a Zapp's product with all the flavors of a crawfish boil.  Not being a fan of crawfish I'll pass.

Last week Hubs picked up items at the Bread Outlet(I went there too)and Kroger and spent a total of $79.96.
This brings our food/toiletries/paper goods Total to $79.96 for March so far.

There are 25 shopping days left in March.

I've earned $6.25 on Ibotta in March.
I've earned $0 on Checkout51 in March.
I've earned $0 on Coupons dotcom in March.
I've earned 10,090 points from shopping on Fetch in March.
I earned 0 points from food shopping on Shop Kick in March.
I've earned 502 SB from food shopping on Swag Bucks in March.

That's $6.25 in rebates(not counting the Shop Kick/Swag Bucks/Fetch)on $79.96 in grocery spending so in reality it's $73.71 in food spending after the 3 rebate apps I count.

My savings percentage for the last week was 35.18% and the monthly savings total for March comes in at 35.18% so far.

Leftovers going into this week.....a leftover red bell pepper.

Was last week's plan successful, did you go off plan or did you not even plan what was going to be eaten last week?

Any deals on food at your stores this week?

  3. The last sale ads were pitiful. But, Wednesday is a new week. I am told I was given crawfish when I was too young to remember. My daddy lived for that sort of food.

  5. I am winging it this week from the freezer and pantry.

Sunday I finished off the fresh veggies purchased 3 weeks ago. Roasted brussel sprouts, salmon and rice pilaf.

Monday- In excavation of the freezer, I discovered 2 vacuum sealed bags of green beans labeled 2017. Oopsy. I thought the new stuff was at the bottom. Assuming they would not be tasty simply steamed, I made BBQ Green Beans in the slow cooker. I had bacon grease in the fridge and bacon bits in the freezer! YUMMY!!! Alongside I made a meatloaf. This made 6 meals-so hubby has 3 lunches for work and I have 1.

Tonight I'm using some aging riced cauliflower, bag of peas/carrots, and a few slices of vacuum-sealed ham from T-day. Stir fried rice-it's what's for dinner!

I have no idea what will be tomorrow. I dig through the freezer each afternoon for "tomorrow". ;-)

I will go to the store for one thing today on my way home from 2 appts: Cuties are half price this week. Citrus is soooo good this time of year!

  6. I learned something new today. Crawfish is what we call Crayfish. It's what turned me off seafood years ago. I don't eat liver, but have always loved the onion gravy my dad used to make with the liver drippings.

  7. I’ve been making some random unplanned stuff lately. Tonight was red lentil pasta in a sauce comprised of Impossible bratwursts, white wine, squishy tomatoes, an onion, artichokes and whatever seasoning seemed appropriate. This was pretty good but sometimes the experiments are barely edible.
