No this isn't a Clue game scenario.
It's the title of one of the YouTube videos I've been watching.
Basically they are advertising films from various companies, touting the modern all-electric kitchens from the 40's to 60's.
This particular one is from 1941 by General Electric.
These things are a hoot!
And I've also been watching a vlogger called "Prepper Princess".
Her backstory is she lived in California then she inherited a little fixer-upper house in Arizona(not paid off yet), sold her expensive CA house and moved to AZ into that house.
She got "all in your face" lately with some hard truths on this vlog..........
Watch especially before minute 4.
Do you follow her videos?
What do you think about what she talks about?
I need to get up to R-A this morning and roll some Bonus Cash then get my butt out in the yard and work on the garden.
Later gators!
Sluggy

She is a little doom for me. I know I am crazy but seeing her post about how people commenting on cross contamination with chicken I turned her off. I had food poisoning once, once too much.
ReplyDeleteI love Prepper Princess. Yes, I watch her.
ReplyDeleteTough love is good. But a bit over the top. I don't follow or subscribe. Kim N.
ReplyDeleteI’ve watched her. The house was actually left to her and her brother and I think he wanted to sell. It seems to have worked out well for her though because I assume she’ll love being in a lower cost of living area. The video where she does her new budget is interesting. I can’t believe people can be so hateful to her. Geez, if one of her ideas doesn’t resonate, just move on.
ReplyDeleteHer $12,000 budget is grossly inaccurate. No accounting for all purchases she is making/will be making such as auto maintenance, home maintenance, clothing replacement, etc.
DeleteNew to me but I liked it. VO5 for $.87 was my shampoo of choice until my husband was corrupted by that fancy boring box shampoo. Now he wants stuff that lathers. 😁

She inherited a house, along wit her brother in CA. Then, after a few years her brother wanted his half of the house value, which forced her to sell rather than fight with him. She sold the house, split it with her brother and then bought a fixer-upper in AZ that she paid for, in cash. She still has the remainder of the sale money, in cash, and hasn't decided on how to invest it. She trusts nothing and no one. Sometimes the Princess makes sense. Sometimes she doesn't. Either way, she is very entertaining and knowledgeable.

ReplyDeleteHey Sluggy, yes, I have watched PP on/off for some time. RE: her back story: as others mention, she moved into her Mother's home and continued to live there even after her Mom passed, for like 10 years, during which time, she fixed it up, paid off the $40,000 left on the mortgage. Fast forward, last year her brother gave notice that he wanted his half of the proceeds of an intended home sale; she had been thinking that since she lived there, did the work, paid off the mortgage that it was all hers. To avoid family disruption, she agreed to sell after tackling a few DIY improvements to improve sale price and ultimately the split proceeds. She looked at various properties in AZ, initially thinking of getting a 5 br and running an air B & B for passive income. She ultimately decided upon a small, 2 bed fixer upper in AZ, for which she paid cash. She has no mortgage. Some of her vlogs are out there-I turn them off. I don't like her infomercials either, no thanks. She does go off on long rants now and then, including the recent one your referenced. Bottom line: she put herself out there on social media. Outside of trolls, still not everyone will agree with her decisions/choices and she needs to accept that-whether it's paint color for a room, not doing an upgrade while walls are opened up, etc. Yes, her cross contamination rant was very much over the top. CLEARLY struck a nerve and makes one question her stability. @@ She's clearly good with money, but her recent "how I live on $12,000" is not at all accurate, as she left out so much of her expenditure. Yes, she chooses to source her clothes second hand (outside of under garments)-but she still IS buying clothing. I responded on that post, left a laundry list of items not included in her budget. I've always held that one needs a 100% accurate, brutally honest, written budget. Not accounting for clothing, HVAC maintenance, car maintenance is plain stupid. PP hasn't mentioned finding a job in A, she was supposed to look for another call center position. If she's not touching the home sale proceeds, just what is she living on? Hmmm
ReplyDeleteWell, she is interesting and basically telling it like it is. People may disagree with me, but I don't see an inheritance as a handout. Someone had to DIE for her to get that money/property and she seems to be making the most of it. Good for her. I know people that inherited a lot of money and pissed it away with nothing to show for it. I think those are the people she is responding to.
ReplyDeleteShe seems to have some anger issues and really hates her audience!
