This Week on the Dining Table

It's the "Got Another Giveaway Going On Now!" Edition......

There's another Giveaway going so be sure and enter.   I'll also throw some more chocolate into the box so don't miss out! ;-)

Moving on......

Onward to the meal planning!

Here's what was planned last week--

2. Monday--French Onion Soup
3. Tuesday--Something Leftover and Easy.....Tacos?
4. Wednesday--Leftover Ribs, etc.
5. Thursday--BBQ Baked Chicken, Roasted Cauliflower and Potatoes
6. Friday--Salmon, Noodles for Hubs, Veggie pulled from the freezer
7. Saturday--No clue yet

And this is what actually happened--

1. Sunday--Smoked BBQ Ribs, Cole Slaw, leftover COC
2. Monday--Chinese Take-out(I had a rough day.)
3. Tuesday--Leftover Take-out
4. Wednesday--Hubs had Leftover Rigatoni and Sauce, I had some Roasted Potatoes
5. Thursday--Leftover Ribs, Cole Slaw, Deviled Stuffed Clams
6. Friday--Meatball Subs, Tomato and Cuke Salad
7. Saturday--Hamburgers w/Lettuce and Tomato, Fries

4 meals cooked at home.
2 new meals, 2 nights of leftovers, and 3 nights of Take-Out(or their leftovers).
Mostly kept to the plan but no bbq chicken and French Onion Soup.  This all moves to this week.

As for my grocery spending..... I spent a total of $39.05 on Sunday.
I have spent $39.05 in all for May so far and have $260.95 left of my food budget with 29 days to go.

Leftovers going into this week.......a chunk of bbq ribs.  That's it.  I didn't finish my portion of the ribs as the rub I made up was too spicy for me.  Hubs will finish them this week, no doubt about that! lolz

Here is this week's "food plan"--

1. Sunday--Chicken Parm, Cuke & Tomato Salad
2. Monday--BBQ Chicken, Roasted Cauliflower and Potatoes
3. Tuesday--French Onion Soup
4. Wednesday--FFY aka Fend for Yourself
5. Thursday--FFY
6. Friday--FFY
7. Saturday--Probably pizza and salad

This week will see 3 new meals cooked and 3 meals of leftovers or "Whatever You Can Find" and 1 meal of Take-Out on Saturday as that is when College Boy comes home.

What I need to buy for this menu.....nothing needed except maybe milk?
I'll also hit the bread outlet at some point.
Weis has Eight O'Clock Coffee BOGO until Wednesday so I'll use a Q and go get some really inexpensive coffee this week too.

What is getting fixed and served at your house this week?

Was last week's plan successful, did you go off plan or did you not even plan what was going to be eaten last week?

Any great deals on food at your stores this week?

  1. I like reading other people's meal plans and keep an eye out for things I like to incorporate into mine.

I see that you are serving chicken parm this week which makes my mouth water...I especially have a weak spot for chicken parm sandwiches.

I wrote about my meal plan here:

  2. More chocolate! Yeah and yeah. Kids have nightly afterschool-10:00 p.m. play practice s, I think a lot of packed sandwiches ad fruit. My menu from two weeks ago is curled up and dying so I m back to winging it, but I want to have some hot dish and some soup for my and DH's lunches, so will cook tonight anyway.

  3. I like seeing how close you stayed to your menu plan each week, or very occasionally how far you veered off. This is coming from someone who has a general menu (i.e. Monday, something with chicken, Tuesday something with pork, Wednesday something vegetarian...) I have tried the detailed menu, but fine I fight against it,(I guess I get pissy with even me bossing myself around) so a fluid concept works best for me.

  4. It's the I'm winging it sort of week. Bleck.
