2019 3rd Quarter Review.....Small Finances

The third quarter of 2019 is in the books now.
Let's see where some of my small pots of savings look like 3/4 into this year.
These stats are all effective as of September 30th, 2019.

*  Rolled coins--$13.50.  Two rolls of dimes, a roll of nickels and three rolls of pennies.  Rolled coins have taken a big hit since Hubs stopped working for a living. lolz

*  Found Change--$39.46  Finding money is the best!  Nobody can argue with that, right? 8-))

*  Refunds & "Post Coupons"--$145.49  Mostly Weis(PMITA)Markets and Rite-Aid.

*  Cash Rebates--
   * Ibotta--$242.47
   * SavingStar--$42.25
   * Checkout51--$38.75
   * ShopAtHome--$9.63(I think I need $20 to cash out of this.)

Total.........$521.92 not counting ShopAtHome) to put toward the grocery spending come December.
9 months in and I have more than enough in small finances to cover December's food spending.

And this doesn't count those OSJL gift cards totaling $83.48 I plan to use on future grocery spending, a $15 gift card from doing a P & G Deal at Rite-Aid in March and the discounted Target gift card balance I still have.

Now how cool is that?!?

Three more months to get some more small monies into the pot for 2019.
Next update on the Small Finances coming at the end of December to wrap up the year.

Do you stash non-income money aside to put toward a goal?
Tell us about it and what strategies work for you in savings money!

* This October Giveaway Box of goodies is open to any and all readers, non-winners yet and previous winners.

There is a limit of ONE ENTRY PER PERSON PER DAY for this Giveaway.  Come back every day and enter though!

In order to enter you must comment with stuff like---if you are a fan of Halloween or not, your favorite costume as a child, if your costumes were homemade or store bought, the worst/grossest Halloween costume you ever saw, the best candy to get and/or the worst candy to get when trick or treating, if you still enjoy eating candy and have your tastes changed since you were a kid, etc.  Or what item(s) you most want to win is always a popular entry comment.
Stuff like that.

I'll leave this giveaway open until Friday, October 18th at 11:59 pm Eastern Daylight Savings Time. On October 19th, Saturday, I'll draw the winning entry.

*Please note these rules*
I'll post the name/ID of the winner on this blog on  and that person has 48 hours from the time stamp on that post to contact me privately via email(my email addy is listed on my "About Me" page, as well as on my side bar).

If I am not contacted via email, I'll attempt to contact the winner via the email they supplied with their entry(or gave me to add to the Giveaway Data Base)and if that email is not responded to within another 48 hours I'll pick another winner.

Disclaimer--This giveaway is open to those with mailing addresses within the US only.  As the cost of postage to foreign countries has gotten too high I am sorry to say I can no longer afford to mail boxes outside the US.  These giveaways are not sponsored by any companies.  I pay for it all(the cost of items given away and the postage to mail it all)out of my own pocket.

***PLEASE NOTE***

Please make sure there is a way for me to contact you in your comment.

If you're not a registered Blogger User with your contact information on your User page, please put your email addy in your comment or email me your email addy privately when you leave a comment so I can get a hold of you. If your Blogger associated user profile is a GOOGLE one make sure your email info is linked to your profile.

If I can't contact you then you can't win.  I am still having to disqualify entries due to this issue and I sure don't like doing that.  Thanks!

FRUGAL TIP--And here is a tip to make Halloween trick or treating/partying frugal.  If you have the freezer space, hit the after Halloween candy sales(50% off candy!)and buy/put enough in your freezer for next year's Halloween trick or treating or if you throw a party and need candy for it.

I do this buying ahead and freezing because well, candy is soooo expensive these days(and it seems to go up every year).  Even though my "kids" are 28, 26 and 23, I still like to give out goodies to the neighborhood kids.   50% off candy won't put as big a dent into your budget.  ;-)

So let's get this Spooky OCTOBER Giveaway started.  Good Luck to everyone!!!

Scenes From the Beach

It's 7 something in the a.m. and I'm being serenaded in the background by Kim singing the "Buzz Saw Serenade".  Sissie has been up for hours working in her "office" and I've been up awhile shivering on the balcony.

Yesterday was a good and full day starting with the morning's view from the balcony.

And yesterday's late breakfast custom made donuts.  Kim is never far from a box of donuts....or are those Sissie's hands? lolz

I haven't taken many photos yet and some are on my phone and it's too dark in the room now to locate my cord to upload them onto the computer so I'll have to leave y'all here with a whetted appetite.

The weather here is crap this morning and rain is coming through soon.  Things should improve once I cook breakfast and the wind/rain dies down and we head out for more hijinks.

More later......maybe.....hehehe

This Week on the Dining Table

The "I've got no photo" Edition................
I am ensconced down in Ocean City with the evil Kim twins at the moment and my phone charger is in the car so I have no photos to share yet.
But be advised that the hilarity has begun!
Here's a recent pic of the puppies instead...........
Dixie has decided she likes her bed better turned upside down and hangs off it like a cliff.  What a goof!

This week Hubs and Ex-College Boy are on their own as far as meals go.  I left them with assorted leftovers still in the fridge, a pot of fresh pasta sauce and 2 packed freezers with a wide variety of foods in them as well as a stocked pantry.
It will be interesting to see what they fix/eat while I am gone. ;-)

What needs buying for this menu?
Don't know, don't care. lolz

What is getting fixed and served at your house this week?

Was last week's plan successful, did you go off plan or did you not even plan what was going to be eaten last week?

Any great deals on food at your stores this week?
