Live Long & Prosper

Mr. Spock aka Leonard Nimoy went to that great Sci-Fi series in the sky yesterday.

Leonard Nimoy and his alter ego Mr. Spock were idols of my oldest brother, Dennis.  He was a big fan of the original Star Trek tv series.
Dennis styled himself after Mr. Spock, making many of Spock's expressions his own.

Heck, he even had the first album of music Nimoy recorded/released......

And who can forget THIS classic.....hehehe.....

Another hit from the premiere LP.....

Here's an online friend, Pam, posing for me last July, beside a giant Vulcan hand with Spock's famous quote carved into it during our day out in IL.......

For you young folks who weren't around for the Golden Era of Star Trek, you may have "seen" Mr. Spock on the "Big Bang Theory".......

Here is Nimoy's reading of "Desiderata".  I'd like to dedicate this one to fellow blogger, Wayne the "Cajun", who lost his battle with illness and left us on Feb. 17th.  The world is just a little bit less for him not being in it any longer.......

And I'll leave you with Mr. Nimoy's fun version of the Bruno Mars hit, "The Lazy Song".
Enjoy!

See you in the Heavens Mr. Spock.....

Fascinating.....

I just love Leanoard Nimoy.

My oldest brother, Dennis, was a big fan of Star Trek, right from the first time the USS Enterprise boldly went where nobody has gone before on our tv set in 1966.
Dennis likened himself to Mr. Spock.
He even began to style his hair like Spock's and started talking like him.
Here is Dennis with his prized hi-fi stereo he built looking all "Spockish"......

Dennis had a couple of Leonard Nimoy's record albums that he cut.
Yes, Mr. Nimoy fancied himself a singer and poet.
I'm sorry to do this to you, but play the clip below at personal risk to your hearing.....

And who can forget, really! I WANT to forget!!, this tune he performed on the variety show called Malibu University that aired the Summer of 1967....

Is it any wonder this series didn't make it past 7 episodes?

Here's a Bruno Mars hit music video he appeared  in last year.......

But here is the latest commercial for Audi pitting the Spocks(old and new) against each other.
Let's just say it's a BIG improvement over the Bilbo Baggins song.....
My brother Dennis would have liked this one.

Live long and Prosper,
