This Week on the Dining Table.....Dec.9th to Dec. 15th

The "Not Feeling Inspired" Edition.........

I just didn't care about  meal planning this past week.  I am trying to come out of my funk.

Onward to the meal planning!
Here is what was planned for last week.....
1. Sunday--nothing
2. Monday--nothing
3. Tuesday--nothing
4. Wednesday--nothing
5. Thursday--nothing
6. Friday--nothing
7. Saturday--nothing
I did not plan a menu last week.  I had the black dog hanging over my head all week.

And here's what actually happened....
1. Sunday--don't remember
2. Monday--don't remember
3. Tuesday--ditto
4. Wednesday--ditto
5. Thursday--ditto
6. Friday--Chicken Strips, Baked Sweet Potato Fries
7. Saturday--Catfish, Teriyaki Green Beans
I didn't keep up with it but we ate.

What got taken out of the freezer last week....
*  a couple of tv dinners
*  Chicken Strips

What got put into the freezer last week....
*  3 tv dinners

Last week we spent $116.25 grocery shopping and only $44.30 the week previous.

Total shopping comes to $401.99 for November.  There are 0 shopping days left in November.

Total shopping comes to $116.25 for December.
There are 22 shopping days left in December.

Rebate monies earned in November.....
I've earned $294.63 on Ibotta in November.
I've earned $31.91 on Checkout51 in November.
I've earned $97.27 on Aisle, etc. in November.
I've earned $15.58 on TaDa in November.
I've earned 35,652 points on Fetch from food shopping in November.
I've earned 15,074 points from food shopping on Shop Kick in November.($60.29)
I've earned 20,460 points on My Points in November.(not sure what the conversion rate is here)
I've earned 1,412 from food shopping on Swag Bucks in November.($14.12)

That is $423.81 in rebates(not counting Shop Kick/Fetch/MyPoints/Swag Bucks/TaDa/The Insiders were I earn gift cards)on $401.99 of grocery spending so in reality it's negative $21.82 in food spending after the rebate apps I count. I now separate out the Food Bank donations and don't count those in the grocery spending(but I do count any rebates on those items) so it's a win/win--the food bank gets a large donation of goods and I get a lower grocery bill.

My savings percentage for the last week of November was 32.16% and the monthly savings total for November comes in at 41.19% spent.

Rebate monies earned in December.....
I've earned $17.71 on Ibotta in December.
I've earned $0 on Checkout51 in December.
I've earned $0 on Aisle, etc. in December.
I've earned $0 on TaDa in December.
I've earned 1,785 points on Fetch from food shopping in December.
I've earned 11,901 points from food shopping on Shop Kick in December.($47.60)
I've earned 428 points on My Points in December.(not sure what the conversion rate is here)
I've earned 340 from food shopping on Swag Bucks in December.($3.40)

That is $17.71 in rebates(not counting Shop Kick/Fetch/MyPoints/Swag Bucks/TaDa/The Insiders were I earn gift cards)on $116.25 of grocery spending so in reality it's $98.54 in food spending after the rebate apps I count. I now separate out the Food Bank donations and don't count those in the grocery spending(but I do count any rebates on those items) so it's a win/win--the food bank gets a large donation of goods and I get a lower grocery bill.

My savings percentage for the last week was 45.49% and the monthly savings total for December comes in at 45.49% spent.

Leftovers going into this week.....not much of anything.  Hubs ate the Turkey day food or put some turkey into the freezer.  I cooked up a package of asparagus & 3 lbs. of green beans I got on Friday.

Here is this week's food plan.....
1. Sunday--Pizza, Salad
2. Monday--Smoke Sausage, Kraut, Baked Beans
3. Tuesday--Pasta and Meatballs, Caesar Salad
4. Wednesday--don't sure, maybe soup with Asparagus in it
5. Thursday--Hamburgers, leftover Green Beans
6. Friday--something from freezer or leftovers
7. Saturday--something from freezer or leftovers

I am just not into cooking this week.  I am burnt out.  We've got a couple of tv dinners we can use if need be.  I've got some bagged salads too and tons of proteins and bagged veggies in the freezer.

What is getting fixed and served at your house this week?

Was last week's plan successful, did you go off plan or did you not even plan what was going to be eaten last week?

This Week on the Dining Table

The "I Have to Cook Again, Blahs!" Edition...

One of the best things about the weeklong cruise was NOT having to meal plan or cook anything.  It was lovely.  The only effort was deciding where to eat and picking out what to eat. lol
I had this sort of breakfast a few times-scrambled eggs(not from powdered!)a piece of bread w/orange marmalade, thin crisp bacon and cantaloupe(2 pieces).  I have to say they had some of the best fruit on this cruise, especially the 'loupe.
Now it's back to real life dang it! ;-)

Onward to the meal planning!

This is what was planned--
1. Sunday--Nothing
2. Monday--Nothing
3. Tuesday--Nothing
4. Wednesday--Nothing
5. Thursday--Nothing
6.  Friday--Nothing
7. Saturday--Nothing

And this is what really happened.......
1. Sunday--Whatever you could scrounge up.
2. Monday--Kielbasa sandwiches, some frozen veggies(don't remember what)
3. Tuesday--Domino's Pizza, Watermelon
4. Wednesday--FFY(I had a PBJ sammie)
5. Thursday--Chinese Take-out and Watermelon
6.  Friday--Steak, COC, Caesar Salad(I just had the COC)
7. Saturday--BLTs, Watermelon

We got home at 1:03am EDST on Sunday morning from the airport.  It took me 3 days to adjust to the time zone change and to get my brain working on a meal plan again. ugh.  We had no fresh produce except for a plethora of tomatoes in the garden and 1 sad cucumber.  In order to have BLTs I had to get to the grocery store for bread.  Unfortunately I found much more food to buy besides bread. lol

What got put into the freezer last week....
* 1 pack of chicken/apple sausage
* 1 Cab Round Steak

What got taken out of the freezer and used...
* 1 lb. of Pepper Bacon
* 2 Steaks
*  1 pack of Kielbasa

I spent $1232.82 on food/toiletries/HBA last week at Walmart.  This brings our food/toiletries/paper goods Total to $122.82 for September so far.

There are 24 shopping days left in September.

I've earned $50.37 on Ibotta in September.
I've earned $0 on Checkout51 in September.
I've earned $3.00 on Coupons dotcom/Paypal in September.
I've earned $3.50 from Aisle.
I've earned 7740 points from shopping on Fetch in September which equals $7.74.
I've earned 6,025 points from food shopping on Shop Kick in September which equals $24.10.
I've earned 12,367 SB from food shopping on Swagbucks in September which equals $12.36.

That's $56.87 in rebates(not counting the Shop Kick/Swag Bucks/Fetch)on $122.82 in grocery spending so in reality it's $65.95 spent after the 3 rebate apps I count until I cash out on the other three apps. 8-)))

My savings percentage for last week was 38.26(without "regular" Rite-Aid trips)for September and the monthly savings total for September comes in at 38.26%.(w/out R-A).

Leftovers going into this week....nothing.  Oh gosh, I have to cook a LOT! lolz

Here is this week's "food plan".....
1. Sunday--Spaghetti w/Chicken Meatballs, Salad, Garlic Bread
2. Monday--Fend for Yourself or Take-out Subs
3. Tuesday--Lobster, COC
4. Wednesday--Cook-out Foods
5. Thursday--Pork Tenderloin Sandwiches, Green Beans
6.  Friday--BLTs
7. Saturday--Leftovers or FFY

What do I need to buy to fix everything on this menu?  Lobster obviously.  And I'll need to either make bread or hit the bread store and buy corn on cob.  Might hit a produce stand too depending on if I have the energy to make and can my pepper relish this week.

What is getting fixed and served at your house this week?

Was last week's plan successful, did you go off plan or did you not even plan what was going to be eaten last week?

Any great deals on food at your stores this week?

Who Wants to Cook? Not I!

If you read my every Monday post this week you know I was going into the week without a meal plan fleshed out.
That is so NOT my usual modus operandi!

But coming back from a 2 week vacation on Sunday afternoon, I just didn't "get it together" before Monday rolled around.
And add in that I still don't want to cook! lolz

Here's how the meal plan is playing out this week.

Sunday--Pizza take-out
Monday--Spaghetti and Meatballs(had balls in the freezer)
Tuesday--Smoke Sausage with Grilled Onions on rolls, mixed veggies(had sausage in the freezer)
Wednesday--Broiled Salmon, Pan Haggerty...thanks to Gill at That British Woman for the idea!(Had salmon in freezer and taters to use up in the pantry)
Thursday--take-out Chinese(no ideas, no energy to cook after a day of weeding)
Friday--Chicken something(TBD), Cauliflower Soup(got a head of cauliflower to use up, cook some of that chicken I bought on Wed.)
I've got 10lbs. of raw chicken breast I need to do something with.....any ideas?
Saturday--BLT sammiches, unless Hubs has a better idea(I bought tomatoes on Wed. too and have bacon in the fridge.)

I must confess I am having a hard time getting back into cooking mode after this trip. 8-(

What are some quick and easy(and relatively healthy)things you whip up when you don't feel like cooking a big production of a meal?
I need ideas people!!
