Last of the Shopping This Week

With snow due in on Saturday *Update--we got 5 inches so far* I finished my shopping for the week on Friday.

First I took some Qs and my $10 off your next order catalina I earned earlier this week and bought all this at Weis.........

4 x Barilla pasta on sale .88¢=$3.52
3 x Spaghetti-o's on sale .88¢=$2.64
1 x Weis sour cream=.88¢
4 x Musselman's apple sauce cups on sale=$5.48
3 x Oreo cookies on sale=$5.91
1 x Pretzel rolls 50% off=$1.49
SubTotal............$19.92

Coupons Used
2 x .75¢/2 Barilla pasta IPQ(coupons dotcom, doubled to $1)=$2.00
2 x .75¢/2 Musselman's ManuQ(doubled to $1)=$2.00
2 x .50/1 Oreo's IPQ(coupons dotcom but I think they are NLA, doubled to $1)=$3.00
Coupon Total......$7.00

$19.92-$7.00=$12.92
I used the $10 Catalina and paid $2.92 OOP.
The Spaghetti-o's purchase will earn me .40¢ back in my Saving Star account. ;-)

Savings rate of 92%.
$36.85 reg. retail worth of items.

The Spaghetti-o's and the cookies are for College Boy(except the pumpkin spice ones are for me ), the applesauce is for Hubs' lunches, the pasta & sour cream are for the stockpile and the rolls were for dinner last night.

Then I had $4 in +Ups to spend/roll at Rite-Aid before Saturday night so I got this stuff.....

5 x Palmolive dish liquid on sale $1=$5.00
2 x Nature Made Vitamin C BOGO=$7.69
SubTotal.....$12.69

Coupons Used
4 x .25¢/1 Palmolive dish liquid IPQ(coupons dotcom)=$1.00
1 x $7/1 Nature Made item ManuQ(mailed to me)=$7.00
Coupon Total.....$8.00

$12.69-$8.00=$4.69 + .20¢ tax=$4.89
I used $4 in +Up Rewards and paid .89¢ OOP.

I earned $1 in new +Up Rewards($1 wyb 5 Palmolive).

After Qs and +Ups earned the dish liquid comes out to .60¢ a bottle(if you don't pay with +Ups)and the vitamin C bottles were .69¢ for 2.....that's all before sales tax of .20¢ here.

My next batch of +Ups expire 1/29 so I'll be going back to Rite-Aid early next week.  I've got about $30 in +Ups to spend/roll then.

After looking at next week's ad online I am figuring my trip will include facial cleaners and shampoo and maybe some snacks(it's Super Bowl deals time)like frozen pizzas and chips(for Hubs).  We'll see once the new Video Values come out after midnight and we see how they will pair with the available Qs and sales ad.

Did you get any great deals at the stores this week?

This is How I Roll......the Catalinas That is!

I began last week with $12 in Catalinas(1 x $5 and 1 x $7) to roll at Weis Markets.
I did 4 transactions last week, rolling these 2 Cats and rolling the subsequent 2 $7 Catalinas I received in the first 2 transactions I completed.

Select dairy items where "Buy $20, Get a $7 OYNO(aka on your next order)Catalina coupon.
The buy amount was based on the regular shelf price, but most of the items that qualified were on sale last week.  Plus I had coupons for some of the items, which brought my OOP cost even lower.

For example--Friendly's ice cream was one of the qualifying items.  Reg. price is $5.99 at Weis.  It was on sale for $2.50.  I also had tearpad coupons I had obtained at Weis a month ago for $1/2 Friendly's ice cream or sherbet.

So I bought 4 ice creams.
Reg. shelf price of $23.96.
Sale price of $10.00
I used 2 x $1/2 coupons...$10-$2=$8.00
I also had a $7 Catalina coupon from that store for items I bought 2 weeks ago I used.
$8-$7=$1 OOP
I paid $1 for 4 ice creams and got another $7 Catalina coupon back.

Another transaction I bought....
2 Friendly's ice cream-reg. price of $11.98/sale price of $5.00
2 Bailey's creamers-reg. price of $4.78/sale price of $3.33
2 Heluva Good dips-reg. price of $4.38/sale price of $3.33
Total reg. prices of $21.14.
Total sale prices of $11.66.
I used a $1/2 ice cream Q, 2 x $1/1 bailey's IPQs, 2 x .50¢ Helavu Good item IPQs which doubled to $1 each, for a grand total of $5.00 in Qs.
Add in the $5 Catalina Q that I rolled from the previous week and my Q total is $10.
I paid $11.66 and got $10 off in Qs.
$11.66-$10 in Qs=$1.66 OOP for all 7 items.
And I received another $7 OYNO Catalina Q.

I also found and purchased some other good deals at Weis last week.
Like 8.5 lbs. of ground beef with 3 Instant $3 off meat coupons on them, making the per lb. price $1.86.
Store clearance on store brand Kielbasa for $1.99.....this use to be my rock bottom buy price but I haven't seen it this low in about a year here.  The new RBP is $2.50 so I snatched these up fast!

Here is what I got at Weis in 4 transactions last week.  First the Catalina deal items.....
12 ice creams
2 creamers
3 dips
8 greek yogurt
And everything else....
1 package of yeast
2/3 lb. peaches
4 bags of salad
4 lb. strawberries
1 gallon milk
2 bags of glazed chicken strips
1 lb. shrimp
8.5 lb ground beef
5 lb. kielbasa
1 package of tortillas
7 bottles of 100% juice

Reg. price would have been $231.16.
I paid $88.47 for a savings of 61.73%
And I have $14 in Catalinas to roll(I had a $7 & a $5 from 2 weeks ago that I rolled this week.)

While no where near an EXTREME COUPONING savings trip, I thought it rather good given that I bought alot of meat proteins and nothing "processed" except  for the ice cream, dips and creamer...which were the items that qualified me for the catalina Qs.  They did have other "unprocessed" foods that qualified like cheese, butter and almond milk(this isn't really dairy now, is it?lol) but I didn't need those plus there were no additional coupons for them.

Anyway, that $88.47 added to the health food store purchase brings my food spending in June to $111.95.  I have $138.05 left for this month with 22 days to go.

Do you think I can stay under budget this month?

Weis is Lousy with Catalina Deals This Week!

I was going to do my run down of what is worth buying at Weis Grocery Stores this week, but this Week is a Holy Week at Weis it turns out and I can't be bothered with regular old what's cheap or free this week.
There are FOUR, COUNT ' EM FOUR CATALINA DEALS!!!

Of course, they aren't Fabulous though.....alot of the products don't have any coupons currently available and some of them are specialty items like baby food, diapers and pet stuff, so if you don't have a 2 legged or a 4 legged baby in your home, you don't need/want to do some of the Cat Deals.  Take out the unhealthy stuff(cake mix, frosting, ice cream, etc.)and the high price point items(big bags dog food, boost nutrition drinks, paper towels and adult diapers..lol)and you are left with barely enough stuff to pull together a decent scenario.

Here are the Catalina Deals with the shelf prices/sale prices from my local store(your store may be a bit higher or lower so be sure to check before working your scenarios).  I spent Sunday afternoon reconnoitering at my local store to get the prices.

Remember the SHELF PRICE is what you need to get to, not the sale price!  Then deduct your coupons to get to your OOP.

My thoughts.....
Cat Deal #4 is junk....difference between shelf and sale prices are small IF THERE AT ALL.  Most are high priced items and coupons don't bring it down enough for a low out of pocket.
Add in that the Cat is only $5 and the buy point is $20 which is a 1:4 ratio.
Bleh....

Cat Deal #1 has potential...especially if you have a cat and it eats Fancy Feast.  $1.25 shelf to $.50 sale price plus there is a $1/24 cans Q for this stuff.  IE--buy 28 cans(shelf price is $35).  28 cans at $.50=$14 OOP.  Add in a $1/24 Q and you pay $13.00.  Get a $10 Catalina.  Buy 28 more cans...use another $1/24 Q and the $10 Cat and your second batch of 28 cans costs you $3.00 OOP and you get another $10 Cat to keep rolling.  If you did this deal 5 times(and had 5 $1/24 Qs)you would end up paying $25 OOP total, have 140 cans of Fancy Feast and a $10 Cat leftover to roll into something else.
That's .178¢ a can plus $10 worth of Cat.

I see potential in the Chef Michaels Dog Food too. Buy 9 bags($35.91 shelf price)for $31.50 and use 9x $2/1 Qs=$13.50 OOP and get a $10 Cat.
Roll the deal.
Pay $3.50 for the next 9 bags and get another $10 Cat.
Roll it 5 times and you end up with 45 bags, $27.50 OOP and a $10 Cat left to roll into something else.
That's .61¢ a bag plus $10 worth of Cat.

Even the water deal, if you buy bottled water has merit.
Buy 14 Aqua Pod Packs($35 shelf price) at $1 a pack=$14 OOP.  Get a $10 Cat.
Roll the deal again using the Cat and pay $4 OOP for the next 14 Packs.
5 Rolls and you have 70 packs of Water, OOP $30 and a $10 Cat left to roll into something else.
That's .428¢ a pack of 8(.053¢ a bottle) plus $10 worth of Cat.

Here is the BEST DEAL I see.....
In CAT DEAL TWO....there are 2 potential MINI CATS you can do inside this Deal!
Buy your $30 shelf price worth of items but be sure to include in these items....
6 Pillsbury(rolls/cookies) and 6 Old El Paso items.
Not only will you get an $8 Cat for buy $30 of items, you will get a $4 Cat for buying the Pillsbury items and a $3 OYN Meat purchase Cat for buying the Old El Paso items!
That's $12 in Cats to roll and a $3 Cat for buying meat.

I hope this gives ya'll some items.
Let me know if you see a particular scenario worth doing.
Dang, I wish I had some more OEP Qs!!!
