January To-Do List Update, Giveaway Info & End of Last Week's Rite-Aid Transactions

 I forgot to include this action item I accomplished in January on that To-Do List.......

I went through all my coupon inserts.  The stack on the right are the ones to be pitched as most if not all the Qs in there had expired.
The cut coupons on the left are the still good Qs I actually cut out of the inserts and tucked them in my coupon envelope that comes to the store with me.

I also cleared out the coupon envelope of all expired coupons in there.  That's the stack above.  Boy, did my envelope feel a lot lighter after that! lol

There are a few folks who tried entering the giveaway whom I have NOT approved/posted their entries/comments yet.

If you left a comment and still don't see it, it means I have no contact info(your email addy)for you or it wasn't linked to your Google account on the Blogger platform.  Please email me from your email addy to have your entry count as valid/approved.
The drawing is tomorrow so get to it! 8-)

And here's the last batch of transactions I did at Rite-Aid on 2 different cards the end of last week......

I bought 4 boxes of low dose aspirin on each card to roll some expiring BC.  The Bayer was on sale BOGO50% off so $5.53 per pair of boxes.  Every pair also gave back $5 in Bonus Cash so I spent down the BC after new BC by $1.06 per card for 4 boxes.  That's under .27¢ per box on something we use here for heart health.  I'll take this deal all day long.

To-Do List......May Update

Let's take a look at how we did on our To-Do List for May.

* Pay Bills DONE  Everything paid and on time, no interest or fees paid.

* Read 1, 2, 3 Books DONE  With the trip to VA I read 3 whole books this month(plus read a little more in the two books I was reading in April).

The Revenant
Ragtime
The All-Girl Filling Station's Last Reunion

All three were good reads and I'd recommend them all.

Incidentally, "Ragtime" was made into a Broadway Musical back in 1998 and ran for 2 years. The actor who played the role of Father is someone I worked with in Summer Stock back in 1980 and 1981, Mark Jacoby.
Here's the opening number as the cast appeared on an episode of the Rosie O'Donnell Show back in 1998.....

* Go to Dr. Appointment DONE  All my tests are good and my weight is down another 15 lbs. from my last visit with my Primary doc in November.

* Hold Giveaway DONE

* Mail Giveaway DONE  Reader Chris won the goodies and has received them.

* 1st Load to Salvation Army for 2017 FAIL  I've got a load to go but we just didn't get them taken up yet.

* Pack for trip to VA DONE

* Gather Gifts to take to VA DONE  I took 3 canvas bags plus a cardboard box of toiletries plus detergent to gift to various folks including my brother, my sister in-law's daughter, my eldest son and a childhood friend.

* Contact Folks for meet-up in VA DONE  I wanted to get together with 2 friends who live down near my brother but only got to meet up with one of them and that took some doing to work out and about wore me out. ;-)

* Go on VA trip DONE  I went and have returned home mostly intact. lolz

* Visit Eldest Son DONE  I stopped over for 2 nights and stayed with my eldest son on the journey home.  It was a low key visit but good.

* Come Home DONE  Yep, made it in 5 hours from Fredericksburg VA to home.

Not a very strenuous list last month but got all but 1 item ticked off.

How did you do on your To-Do List in May?

The To-Do List....April Update

Here is how I did with my To-Do List in April......

* Pay Bills  DONE  Everything paid and on time, no interest charges levied or paid out.  Why pay extra of your hard earned income for not being mindful of deadlines....am I right?

* Read 1 Book  DONE  Well, actually I read half of two books which makes 1 book read.  That's my story and I'm sticking to that.  I like alternating my reads that way so if I don't feel like reading one right now, I can read the other.  They are different enough that I can keep the plot lines/stories straight.  I plan on finishing both books in May.

And no, I am not related to the Hatfields and/or McCoys of KY and WV. lolz

I also have 3 more books to bring along to VA this month as I'll have tons of free time for reading.....

And yes, I DO have a connection to the subjects in two of these books.  8-)

* Go to Dr. Appointment  DONE  I went and all my blood work was good or better than good.  My numbers are even lower and my weight is trending down again.  Go me.

* Go to Dentist Appointment  DONE  I had a crumbling old filling that needed mending.  All done and just waiting on what we need to pay that insurance didn't.  I go back in 6 months for a check-up.

* Go through Q Inserts & Purge  DONE  I reduced the stack of coupon inserts substantially.  I like to purge them every 3-4 months.  I will cut out any Qs in the inserts I pitch that haven't expired yet.  I now have none that are older than mid March on the shelf now.

* Hold Giveaway  DONE

* Mail Giveaway  DONE  Rhitter won the goodies and I shipped them off to her.

* 1st Load to Salvation Army  FAIL  I just didn't get the paperwork written up for this so Hubs could drop the load off.  Oh well.....it will go out in May instead.

I had a short list in April so not much of a stretch for me but I got all but 1 chore accomplished.

June To-Do List Update

Here's the update on my June To-Do List.  I post a To-Do list on the side bar of my blog's homepage every month.
Let's see how ol' Sluggy did this month on her list, shall we? ;-)

* Pay Bills  DONE
Everything got paid and on time, as per usual.

* Bike Something DONE
Well it was something.  The bike finally got set-up on June 30th and I think I biked 1 mile total for the month. lolz  I need to get use to this bike AND get my knees use to using it again as it's been 2 months. bleck.

* Declutter DONE
I used June and having Daughter and the BF here with all their stuff as an excuse to to pitch more of my own things.  Decluttering will continue into the near future as well.

* 1 Load to Salvation Army DONE

Hubs and I took 1 car load to Sallie's.  Some was Daughter's stuff too.

Plus all that large furniture type stuff Sallie's was suppose to pick-up, we otherwise got rid of in town by giving it away to those who wanted/needed it.

* Read 1 Book DONE
I didn't finish the book yet as I only read at night before bed and it's a thick book.  I am more than halfway done with it so will have to find another one to read by next month.

*  Plant Something DONE

We finally got a dozen tomato plants and 2 zucchini plants mid June into the ground.  That's the extent of our garden for this season.  I just put in stuff that the chipmunks and rabbits will leave alone as we couldn't come up with a way to keep them out of this area without going to Herculean efforts and spending a large sum of cash.
This is how the plants are doing as of June 30th.....still smallish but looking healthy and they all have blooms on them already.  Perhaps we will get some veggies from them eventually.

* 1 Doc Appointment DONE
Had my every 3 year pap smear done in June.  All my lady parts are well and in good working order.  Yes, I felt you needed that critical update. lolz

* Vacuum and Shampoo Bedroom Carpet DONE
Cobwebs also cleaned up, room cleared out and a/c unit put into window.  The room was ready with days to spare.

* Clean Ceiling Fans in Bedrooms DONE
With assistance from College Boy we got this done.  He is taller......

* Put Shelving in Bathroom DONE
Got the shelving moved to the bathroom, scrubbed down and vinyl liner  sheets put into it.  It is now filled up to the brim with their personal care products so it's not all just piled under the sink cabinet in the dark.

* Buy/Replace Ceiling Fan/Light in Kitchen PARTIALLY DONE

It has been purchased but is still in a box sitting in the kitchen waiting for the weekend when the menfolk will be here and available to install it.  It will be so nice to again have lights over the kitchen table. 8-)
It has been soooo long!

* Clean and Seal Deck DONE

It finally got done the weekend before July 4th! rah!!!  Though I didn't personally do this chore I did have a large hand in the nagging/pleading/begging for it to be done.

* Clean Out Shed FAIL
I DID drag out two old bicycles to give away and a bike helmet to toss while Hubs was at work but the bulk of the shed still needs cleaning/clearing out.  The shed is Hubs "kingdom" and I dare not go there, so I am left with begging/pleading/nagging about it.  Besides just finally getting it cleared out of all the junk in there we need a place to put a large car jack and other car type items the BF brought with him so we aren't tripping over them in the garage.  If for no other reason, making space for BF's "manly" stuff is a reason to tackle this job.
I don't know.....if Hubs isn't careful Daughter and I might just decide to get in the shed and "have at it" one of these days.......

So there you have it an almost perfectly completed June To-Do list.  But then again, it wasn't very extensive or strenuous, was it?
And I had help with some of the items on it.

I think the fact that I stayed sane in June and am not a stark raving lunatic at this point indicates I survived June well and am doing AOK.
On ward and upward to July!

How did you do with your To-Do list for June?
