There's a New "Judy" in the House!

Yep.
I went and bought a crock-pot on Tuesday.
And it showed up at my door on Thursday.

It's larger than my other crock-pot(7 quart) but even better.........

It's PURPLE!

And it was a great deal.

$29.99 on sale at Kohl's.
I got 30% off=$20.99
Then I got another $10 off for buying it on Veteran's Day=$10.99
And I just got finished filling out the $5 rebate on this model=$5.99 + a stamp=$6.44 OOP
And the shipping was free too.

Now I just need to decide what to cook to christen her.
Any suggestions?

Sluggy

  1. Great deal! I was really hoping when I saw the title that you were gonna tell us Judy had started writing again though :(

How about a good soup since it is so cold out?

  2. I have never seen a purple crock pot - groovy! Pork chops in mushroom sauce? Beef stew? Those are my crock pot go tos.

  3. Awesome purple! I went from an old floral design to sleek stainless.

As for crockpot, we are starting to do more and more. Like hashbrown casserole with sausage (just put the sausage in foil on top). Lots of soups, chili, beans, chicken cacciatore. chicken tacos, roasts. I cannot even think of everything.

  4. Well very nice. My Judy looks just like her, but is sleek and black as every girl should own a little black dress! How about cowboy beans in that little purple #?

  5. Yes! Wasn't the Kohl's online deals awesome? I bought a ton of Christmas gifts at such great prices. Wish I had seen the crockpot! It would make a great gift too!

  10. What a beautiful crock pot! I use mine for only two things. Pot roast and pulled pork. Once though. I made a recipe that I heard about using a jar of grape jelly and a jar of chili sauce and a bag of frozen meatballs. It was good but I didn't like the flavor of the pre-made meatballs. I like my own better. Whatever you make, I'm sure it will be tasty!

  11. A nice beef stew, or chicken, or pork tenderloin. Ropa, it is a Cuban dish make with beef, tomatoes, peppers.

  13. Chiming in to say I miss Judy too -- how is she?

Maybe you should inaugurate the "other Judy" by making pulled pork? Be right over! ;)

  15. Hubby cooks brisket in the crockpot and it turns out better than any brisket I have ever had anywhere. Yummy! Oh, and roasts, pork roast, soup, stew, chili. Hey....I just ate. I am NOT hungry.
