This Week on the Dining Table

** Giveaway Drawing and Winners posting happening later today.**

The "Oh My!!" Edition................

Hubs and I took a little field trip on Saturday and just happened to find this little grocery gem.  I'll post about our trip later this week. 8-)))

Moving On....
Onward to the meal planning!

This is what was planned--
1. Sunday--Meatloaf, Corn
2. Monday--Chicken Parm, Spaghetti, Salad
3. Tuesday--Kielbasa Sandwiches, Beans
4. Wednesday--Ravioli, Salad
5. Thursday--Chicken Piccata, Baked Potato, Brussels Sprouts
6. Friday--Salmon, Mushroom Risotto, Roasted Carrots
7. Saturday--Leftovers

And this is what actually happened--
1. Sunday--Meatloaf, Corn
2. Monday--Chicken Parm, Spaghetti, Salad
3. Tuesday--Leftovers(I had fish and cole slaw)
4. Wednesday--Chicken Marsala, Mixed Veggies
5. Thursday--Chili, Cornbread(I had a can of soup)
6. Friday--Leftovers
7. Saturday--We had a late lunch at Denny's so no dinner

Last week saw 4 nights of home cooked dinners, 2 nights of leftovers/ffy, and 0 nights of Eating Out/Take-Out(but a lunch out).  The Piccata turned into Marsala and the Kielbasa, Ravioli and Salmon didn't happen but Chili did as I had Ground Beef to use up.
Those 3 meal move to this week so that's half my menu already finished. lolz

What got put into the freezer last week.....
* 6 lbs. of Chicken Breast
* 2 bags of Potato Wedges
* 3 bags of Grilled Chicken Strips
* 2 lbs. of Kielbasa
* 1 Chicken Broccoli Casserole

What got taken out of the freezer and used.....
Ground Beef
* Ground Veal
* Frozen Corn
* Chicken Patties
* Mozzarella Cheese
* a Hunk of Chorizo
* frozen Mixed Veggies

Four small trips to Weis, a trip to the Bread Outlet and "free" food from Ocean State Job Lot  brought the weekly spending to $102.61 and my December spending on food to $181.32 so far.

My savings percentage last week was 58.84%(without Rite-Aid trips)and December's monthly savings total comes in at 53.79%(w/out R-A).  Weeks with trips to the Bread Outlet always skew my savings rate pretty high. ;-)

I have 15 more food shopping/spending days in December.

Leftovers going into this week.....meatloaf, mixed veggies, chili and beef stew.

Here is this week's "food plan".....
1. Sunday--Pecan crusted Chicken, leftover mixed veggies
2. Monday--Pizza, Salad
3. Tuesday--Leftovers
4. Wednesday--Kielbasa Sandwiches, Beans
5. Thursday--Salmon, Risotto, Roasted Carrots
6. Friday--Leftovers
7. Saturday--Ravioli, Salad

As always this menu is subject to change or rearranging depending on what leftovers get eaten or not and what I am feeling like cooking(or not). lolz

What needs buying for this menu? Nothing really.  But that won't keep me out of the grocery store if there's a great deal.  Hey! everybody needs a hobby, right? ;-)

What is getting fixed and served at your house this week?

Was last week's plan successful, did you go off plan or did you not even plan what was going to be eaten last week?

Any great deals on food at your stores this week?

Other Rite-Aid Shopping Since Last Saturday

Last Friday I checked out a different Rite-Aid for more Shea Moisture moneymakers/freebies but it was not to be but I did find this stuff and I spent down BC on daughter's card.........

The Head and Shoulders was on clearance 50% off plus had a $1 R-A peelie Q on it making that shampoo $2.64.  Good thing because I didn't have a ManuQ.

I did have a $3.50/2 Q that had printed on a previous receipt for the Herbal Essence and that variety was also on clearance 50% off so both bottles were $3.48 total.

The R/S chocolates were on sale for $4.99 each, I had a $1/2 ManuQ and 1 gave back $1 in BC so $3.99 each after all that.

The fig bars were .30¢ after 20% Wellness Disc. and the .50¢ Instant Savings Peelie.($1-.20¢-.50¢=.30¢)
The dog toy was also in the $1 section and was .80¢ after my 20% Wellness Disc.

The best thing were the Reese's cookie center cups and Dove milk chocolate choccies.  Both were on clearance for .59¢ ea. AND had .50¢ peelie Qs on them so .09¢ each!
Besides the Qs noted above I also have a $3 wyspend $20 RAQ.
$32.22-$18Qs=$14.22+.24¢tax=$14.46 spend in Bonus Cash.  I earned $1 BC back for the R/S chocolates.

On Saturday Hubs and I went for a ride to a town South of here and I hit another Rite-Aid and found some Shea Moisture and Nexxus.......

The Nexxus were on clearance $9.99 ea.  I used 2 x $5/1 Nexxus IPQs so paid $9.98+.60¢tax=$10.58 in BC and earned back $10 in new BC.
The soaps were $5.19 ea. with Wellness Disc.so $10.38+.63¢tax=$11.01 using BC.  I earned my last $10 wyb 2 Nexxus/Shea Moisture BC.

Then on Monday this week I bought this at my Rite-Aid using a $2 wysp$15 Q on daughter's card.........

These Axe body washes were on clearance for $2.89, the coffee on sale for 5.99 and I had a $4/1 Q that printed on a previous receipt and I bought the Suave body wash(also 50% off)to reach $15 spent so I could use that $2/$15 Q.
Total spent was $10.33 of Bonus Cash and I now have $9.67 BC left on this card.

And on Wednesday I got this stuff here on my card.......

4 x Clairol root touch-up dyes w/30% discount(better than the sale price of $7.50)=$24.60 +.88¢tax=$25.82.  I also used 2 x $5/2 Clairol Qs so paid $14.82 in Bonus Cash.
The 30% Q was printed from their website(a swipe and save Q) The Q is HERE.

I then submitted for a $10 prepaid Visa for spending $20(before Qs)on Clairol/CoverGirl HERE.
Today is the last day to do this Visa reward deal at Rite-Aid.

So after that $10 reward I "spent" $4.82 for 4 boxes of hair color and was able to convert $10 of BC into a prepaid Visa card.

Next week I need to spend down most of the $48 in Bonus Cash on my son's card which has a $6 wyspend $30 Q attached to that account as well.  It's not a good week next week for deals so it will take some thinking to figure out the most advantageous way to spend that BC.

Frugal Friday....the December 13th Edition

A quick look around Chez Sluggy finds these frugal-ish wins this past week........

*  No Weis freebie(every time I go to a partcular Weis there are always out of it by the time I get there)but I did stack a "Buy One/Get Two Free" Perdue chicken parts deal with an $1/2 IPQ AND $3 in Instant Meat Discount stickers to get 10 lbs. of B/SCB for under $1.40 per lb.  I'll call that a win. ;-)

* I found money!

The week started off nice with this sweet quarter found at Rite-Aid on Monday.

Then another penny by a self-checkout at Weis the same day.

Another penny at the liquor store by the register.  Who says drinking won't make you wealthy?!? ;-)

Then a dime over by the office door at Rite-Aid.  I need to start hanging out at that location in my store more because I found a quarter over there last month too!

And this assemblage of pennies was found at the drive-thru window at Burger King.  I stopped to get a $1 order of french fries to treat the puppies on Wednesday.  I opened my car door while I waited for my fries and spied these coins.  Kim will be proud of me for being able to scoop them up while NOT falling out of the car.(It was close but I remained in the car.)lolz  These babies had to be Purel-ed and washed when I got home BIGTIME!

*  I got a whole .25¢ last week in Ibotta rebates. go me. lolz

*  I did another Weis survey for another 100 points toward a free Christmas protein item this month.

*  I've begun wrapping presents having pulled out all the frippery for that job from various hiding places in the house/garage.  I haven't bought a tag/bow/paper/bag/tape this year(or last year)to get the job done so no money spent on the wrappings.

*  I mailed two packages of presents out this past week.  I checked what various services were going to cost online(YIKES!!!)and went with Fedex as they were slightly less expensive.  When I got to the Fedex shipping store the employee gave me "$5 off when you spend $15 on shipping" coupons to use so I saved $10 total on shipping which made Fedex a Good Deal as opposed to UPS or USPS.  Yeah!

That's about it for this week except for my Rite-Aid "buys" which I'll talk about tomorrow.

What frugal wins did y'all have this week?
It's a hard time of year to stay frugal(what with the Consumer Bacchanalia of the Holidays)but every way you can keep ca$h in your pocket is a win!

SAK, Amy, JRE, R's Rue and "Unknown", Please email me!

In regards to the current Giveaways, I now have EIGHT entries sitting in moderation that I can't validate and put through yet.

I either don't have any contact information on them-that would be "SAK", "JRE" , "R's Rue"and "Amy", or they included no name or email in their entry and it's coming up as Blogger User "Unknown".

Please would these folks email me privately so I can approve your entries.  If you entered under "Unknown" you need to tell me also what you said in your entry(or paraphrase it)so I know which "Unknown" is you.(There are 4 so far.)

You've got until Sunday to fix your entries.  I hate to have to disqualify anyone but if I don't know who you are and how to contact you I will have to.

Thanks,
Sluggy
