Remind Me Not to Be Nice

Because it always costs me in the end.

Someone on Etsy asked about a flannel fabric I have listed.  She wanted to know if I'd chop up the piece and sell her 1 yard of it for $5.
I told her I had a remnant piece that was 16 inches wide x 2.5 yards she could have for $5(as she was going to cut the fabric into small squares anyway).
So she answers that she only needs a piece big enough to make a few 3" squares.

So I tell her I'll sell her a piece of the remnant for $1 that can fit into a reg. envelope so the postage would be .49¢.

She answers that's great.

I tell her just to send me $1.49 to my Paypal account and I'll send it on to her.

So she says she wants to use her Etsy account so I now have to make a listing for her to buy it.

So I tell her if I have to make a listing and pay .20¢ to Etsy then she has to pay that cost, so her new price is $1.69.
Really, it isn't worth it to me to have to pay .20¢ on a $1 sale, ya know?

So guess who has disappeared and not replied for 2 days now?

Yep.
You go out of your way to basically be nice to someone because really this isn't worth my time and energy to sell her $1 of fabric, and it comes back to bite me in the ass.

Bah Humbug!

Only 12 more bottle of Tresemme to buy this week but we are having a 2 day "Weather Event"(aka sleet and snow)so I won't be returning to Rite-Aid until Thursday at the earliest so y'all are all safe from anymore Rite-Aid Posts for the next 2 days.

**  This Yardley Soap Rain Check was from BF sales 2013.  I needed another .50¢ in spending on this transaction so I could use more +Ups to pay so I bought 1 bar.

Then we went to the Restaurant Supply store together for groceries.  They had a Spend $50 Get $5 off coupon this weekend.

We picked up lunchmeat, a HUGE head of Cabbage, 3lbs. of Ricotta Cheese, 2 blocks of extra sharp Cheddar, 9.5lbs. of Ground Beef(80/20), 10 lbs. of Potatoes and Onions, 5 lbs. Red Potatoes.
After discount, $46.60 out the door.

Then it was off to Tuesday Morning so Hubs could pick up a stocking stuffer for me.  I saw this cup and thought of a few folks I know.......

Then I saw this and it's PERFECT for my Daughter.....it has that special blend of high class and redneck.....lol

And then I spotted the PERFECT gift for McVal. ........

Then we went next door to look at puppies.......

This poor little homely thing below, they called a "Mini Walrus".
WTF?  It's a cross breed of a basset hound and a sharpie I was informed.
Think this.....
 and this.....

I don't know, she sort of looks like a Lemon beagle and a French bulldog to me.
What do you think?

I am a sucker for a brachycephalic dog.....like this little pug......

They had a Brussells Griffon which is unusual to see in a pet store around here......

And a pair of sister Shina Ibu puppies that just wanted to sleep and not play.........

It's only been a week since Cherry left us and we are feeling the doggy urge already.  ;-)
the prices were ridiculous compared to what we pay for our Animal Shelter dogs.  $1200 for the mixed dogs?!?  No way.  A purebred with a pedigree maybe......

Then we went next door to P&R Grocery Outlet and picked up a few things for $14.99--2 bags of salad greens, 2 yogurts, a can of black eyed peas(New Year's Day is coming ya know!), a box of Saltines(so I can make a treat for Christmas), 2 large cans of tomato paste, a can of clam juice(for chowder making), 4 lbs. of Risotto rice for $1 lb., a box of cereal for $1.29 and something else I can't remember.

Then we browsed the beer distributor to see what specials or sales they had this month.
Hubs picked up a case of Old Forge(a local microbrewery)and I was tempted by a case of Sam Adams Gingerbread Stout but at $75+ I passed on that.  I'll wait until I can get to somewhere that sells single bottles or 6 packs(in PA you can only buy beer by the case, unless it's a grocery store café, bar or restaurant with a liquor license that can sell you up to 2 6-packs).
At least Hubs got to mix and match his case with different varieties of 6-packs in his case of Old Forge beers.

Then it was home and we finished up the bulk of the Thanksgiving leftovers(a sweet potato is left now).

That was our 2nd day out last weekend.
We don't usually run around so much on the weekend but that's just how it worked out for a change.

This Week on the Dining Table

The "Lot of Shopping Week" Edition......

I feel like I was in the car or in a store the bulk of last week rather than being home.

Onward to the meal planning!

What was planned last week--

1.  Turkey Day Leftovers
2.  Salmon, Mac & Cheese leftovers, Brussels Sprouts
3.  Leftovers
4.  Leftovers or Fend for Yourself
5.  Quiche, Tossed Salad

7.  Leftovers

I bought a cheap pizza at Weis(on sale and had coupons) and we had leftovers for 1 more night than I thought(because Hubs was out of town)so the Chops and Quiche didn't happen.  Those meals move to this week's menu.

Last week I made 6  trips to 3 different markets and spent $93.58 on $318.93 worth of groceries.
3 trips to Weis last week for .67¢ pasta, cheap coffee for $2.34 a pack and Chex cereal for $1.15 a box(with sales and Qs)and multiple packs of those Dogfish Head Brats for $2.99 a pack, among other deals. 2 trips to Kmart for cheap toiletries and Ziplocs and 1 trip to the local market for cheap PowerAde Zero drinks.

I also did 7 transactions at Rite-Aid, where I spent $1.09 on $283.70 of items there for the week.

Going into this week, in leftovers we have........1 Sweet Potato, 2 pieces of pizza, a small portion of Mac & Cheese and some Coleslaw.

Here is the plan for this week.........

1.  Turkey Day Leftovers
2.  Fish, Leftover Coleslaw, Collards
3.  Chicken Parm, Salad, Spaghetti(for Hubs)
4.  Meatloaf, leftover Man & Cheese, leftover Collards
5.  Quiche, Tossed Salad
6.  Pork Chops, Sugar Snap Peas, Sweet Potato leftovers
7.  Leftovers or Fend for Yourself Night

What I need to buy for this menu.........nothing.  I bought ground beef, chicken, collards and salad greens last week or yesterday.

What is getting fixed and served at your house this week?

Was last week's plan successful, did you go off plan or did you not even plan what was going to be eaten that week?

Any great deals on food at your stores this week?
