I Will Cut You....Meh

Remember this cute baby?
It made the internet rounds with the caption...."I WILL CUT YOU!"...a few years ago.

Well I have met "I will cut you" and she isn't a baby.....she's a dermatologist.

I had some outpatient surgery the other day.  No biggy, just some growths cut off my face and no, not the important ones.

But I am in more pain than I thought would come from this.
So I'm taking a few days off from posting on the blog.  I can't seem to do much of anything more than post some complaining comments on a few blogs and then go annoy some clueless socialist liberals on Facebook.

I got nothing coherent to say here.
And the pain in my face is keeping me from being my jovial, off-beat self.

I'll leave you with this YouTube video.
I about peed my pants the 1st time I watched it.
And before you get all uppity and call me a racist, the humor has nothing to do with this guy's skin color.
(This is probably what I sound like after I've had a few drinks too.)
We seriously need this man to audition for American Idol next year!

Somebody contact his representation management firm STAT! ;-)

Have a good weekend folks,

***Time to enter.....You can enter on this Giveaway post until I close this post to entries.

Leave your name/email addy and a COMMENT on this post.

This week in your comment I want to hear about whichever Winter Holiday you celebrate, be it Christmas, Hanukkah, the Winter Solstice, Bodhi Day, Yule, Saturnalia, Pancha Ganapati or Kwanzaa.
Do you make a budget for your celebrating and what is your target amount to spend?  How do you pay for what you spend at the Holiday time or do you just not worry about paying for it until next year?
Do you foresee spending more or less than you have in the past years at the Holiday time?

You can come directly to this blog post or find it through the link on the right side bar to leave 1 comment per day.  The current Giveaway Post will be linked right at the top of the side bar.

Please NOTE--You MUST be a follower to enter the Giveaway.  If you aren't one, just click on the "Follow" button on the right hand side of my blog to become a follower.

There are 2 ways to get 2 EXTRA entries on this and each new Giveaway Post.......

I think there is room in the box for 1 more lot of items so the next post on the giveaway will be the last before I draw a winner.
Any suggestions on what I should choose to put in the space left in the prize box?  Let me know!

As always if there are any questions?  Just email me.

Happy Entering!!

Do You Want to Live in a Free Market Society or One Controlled by Government?

I found this video on Youtube today that explains why Free Market Economics run counter to Government Controlled Markets, using the current SuperStorm Sandy example.
And in regard to those $30 flashlights?.....I'll contend that given the prices in Manhattan, $30 for a flashlight is NOT gouging anyway.  I've had to buy things in Manhattan and that place is ridiculously high anyway on EVERYTHING!lol

So are you a Keynsian or a Hayekian when it comes to economic theory?
Do you believe in truly free markets(not what we have now in America, which is NOT a free marketplace but Crony Capitalism)?
Or do you believe that government should control our marketplace and cause artificial dips and highs?

I Went & Spent Money....Or Did I?

After having my face all cut to shreds by the Dermatologist I went to use some of my Grocery chits that were burning a hole in my pocket.
And of course, due to some bad planning a had to spend a little bit of cash.
Sigh......

 At Weis(PMITA)I got.....
4 x Wheatables Crackers(for the holidays) on sale $2(With store Q and Must buy 4)=$8.00
I stacked 2 x $1/2 Peelie Qs so each box was $1.50.

1 x Simplait Yogurt on sale=$.50
I used a $.30/1 IPQ which doubled so I got paid .10¢ to buy this.

2 x Freschetta pizzas(this will be dinner tonight because I am hurting)on sale $4.99=$9.98
I used 2 x .75¢/1 IPQ which doubled to $1, so the pizzas were $3.99 ea.=$7.98/2

1 x Cabot Cheese on sale=$2.50
1 x Cabot Greek Yogurt=$4.29--it's cheaper than the store brand in qt. size
I used a $1/2 Cabot items IPQ, so the cheese was $2.00 and the yogurt was $3.79.

Subtotal was $19.67.
I used a $5 OYNO Catalina, $14.67
Then I used my 2 gift cards, 1 had $5, the other had $10, so the out of pocket was ZERO and I have $.33 left on 1 card.

At the Shursave market I got....
1 x Bag o' Romaine Salad on sale=$2.50
1 x ground beef=$5.85
2 x Stove Top stuffing on sale(.88¢)=$1.76
No coupons used so Grand Total was $10.11.
I used one of my $10 gift certificates to pay so out of pocket was......11¢.

8-))

The stuffing was for Thanksgiving.  I make a killer homemade stuffing with mushrooms, walnuts and other goodies.  Since we have people who can't eat nuts and won't eat mushrooms I also serve the boxes stuff for them.  I used to compromise my stuffing recipe and serve something watered down that we don't like but I don't do that anymore.
Life is too short, ya know?
If they don't like my stuffing, they can go make their own.....8-P

None of this I bought above  is what I need to buy for the Turkey Day meal however. lol
I still need celery, taters, parsnips and rutabagas.
But I still have another $10 food certificate which I will save to buy those items early next week.

I hopped into Rite-Aid today as well on the way to the dr. appt.

1 x Axe Gift Set on sale=$9.59(20% wellness disc. was lower than the sale price of $9.99)
2 x ID Gum on sale $1=$2.00
Subtotal.....$11.59

Coupons Used
1 x $2/1 Axe gift set VV AdPerk Q=$2.00
1 x BOGO ID Gum IPQ=$1.19(It took off the reg. price, not sale price, automatically)
1 x $.25/1 ID Gum VV AdPerk Q=$.25
2 x $1/1 Axe Load2Card Q(these came off automatically)=$2.00
Coupon Total....$5.44

$11.59-$5.44=$6.15 + .05¢tax=$6.20
I used $6+Up Rewards to pay and put the .20¢ on my gift card.
I received back $4 in +Up Rewards($3 Axe gift set, $1 wyb2 ID Gum).

So basically I got paid .44¢ to buy the gum packs and the Axe set "cost" me $2.59.
The Axe Load2Card digital coupons are for individual Axe items, not the gift set but they are coming off when you purchase the gift sets.

Both son's love this Axe stuff so I might pick up another one with the BIL's Wellness card.
I've got another $8 in +Ups I have to spend/roll/convert by Saturday so I'll be heading back to Rite-Aid later this week.

Stupid Crap People Really Buy!....Episode #1

Just in time for the 2012 Holiday Shopping Season, it's a new Feature here at Chez Sluggy I like to call--

"Stupid Crap People Really Buy"

Today's Selection comes to us directly from the Sunday Coupon Inserts.  The Inserts on Sunday we get here aren't filled with lovely lovely high value coupons....no.  Instead they are filled with lovely lovely offers of fine quality merchandise that no store would deem to carry.
This particular item caught my eye recently......

It's the beautimous ELVIS FASHION BAG!
This beauty is available exclusively from the Bradford Exchange.
You know, that clearinghouse of all things "collectible".
Yes, this Elvis bag is a collectible that you can actually use to function as a purse...what a concept!

Stand in awe of it's custom designed golden faux leather featuring silhouettes of Elvis, his replica signature, the braided faux leather handle with metal rings attaching it to the bag, and a key fob with the TCB(or Taking Care of Business) charm.  Strong demand is expected so hurry and order NOW!

Now do you want to know the kind of customer I see walking around in life with this purse on their shoulder?

And this fine vinyl, er.....faux leather purse will run Miss "Kiss my Grits" Flo $100 in 4 easy payments(plus shipping of $10.99).
What a bargain!!!
Even if she has to tighten her Aqua net and chewing gum budget for awhile and stop throwing wild Canasta parties at the trailer park until this is paid off.

Yes, Style may be "Golden" like the ad states, but this purse is neither stylish nor golden.

Here's a thought--If you really must have an Elvis bag why not go down to one of "The Marts" and buy a plain bag, then buy some Elvis stickers and some fabric paint(though vinyl isn't really fabric, is it?) and create your own decorated bag.  This way, you save yourself a shit ton of money by not paying the extortionist price for a licensed Elvis product(which the lion's share goes to a division of JP Morgan Chase-which owns the rights to the Elvis name).  You save your money and I bet you'll have a much more tasteful and unique bag in the end.

It's just a cheap made in China bag anyway, just like all the other "faux leather" bags in the stores.  These probably cost $1.50 to produce and even with the print advertising it didn't cost anywhere near $100 to get to market.  What makes it cost $100 is the licensing and the horrendous markup charged by the owner of the bag company.
Yes, Sluggy has been watching SHARK TANK lately.....lol

And if you still have another $60 laying around to throw away, you can also buy the Elvis Performance Ballet Flats Shoes to complete your ensemble.

So I ask.....I know they must sell oodles of these......
But Who buys this crap?!?!
Anybody you know?
And what kind of need is filled in anyone with this stupid crap?
Or do people who buy stupid stuff just keep buying more and more until they end up on "Hoarders"?

Sluggy
