Meal Plan Monday....the September 22nd Edition

 


 

Onward to the meal planning!  Here is what was planned for the last week.....

Here is what was planned for the this week.....
1. Sunday--Chicken Marsala, Assorted Veggies
2. Monday--Salmon, Baked Sweet Potato Fries
3. Tuesday--Hubs leftover, me nothing
4. Wednesday--leftovers
5. Thursday--Ginger Chicken(Hubs rice also)
6. Friday--Cheeseburger, Veg TBD
7. Saturday--Don't know yet

And here's what happened....
1. Sunday--Chicken Marsala, Assorted Veggies

4. Wednesday--leftover Chicken Marsala, Veggies

7. Saturday--leftover Chicken Marsala, Caesar Salad 

We shopped at Shoprite and Walmart last week.

What got taken out of the freezer.......

*  Ginger Chicken Stir-Fry

The last week we spent a whopping $60.00 on groceries and the savings rate came in at 38.69%. Spending for the month is $292.55 and the savings rate is 34.71% for September before rebate monies are added in.

for September.

This Week on the Dining Table.....April 28th Edition

 "Liver for Anne"

Here is what was planned for the last week.....
1. Sunday--Chicken Parmesan, Brussels Sprouts
2. Monday--Tempura Cod, Harvard Beets
3. Tuesday--Liver, Onions, Taters, Veggie TBD
4. Wednesday--Chicken Marsala, Spinach Souffle
5. Thursday--Cheeseburgers(roll optional), Salad
6. Friday--Shrimp, Green Beans
7. Saturday--Meatloaf, Stir-Fry Veggies

And here's what actually happened....
1. Sunday--Chicken Parmesan, Brussels Sprouts
2. Monday--Tempura Cod, Harvard Beets
3. Tuesday--Cheeseburgers(roll optional), Salad
4. Wednesday--Chicken Marsala, Spinach Souffle
5. Thursday--Liver, Onions, Bacon, Taters, Veggie TBD
6. Friday--Shrimp, Green Beans
7. Saturday--Chicken Parmesan, Spinach Souffle

Every meal but Saturday happened because I had no stir-fry Veggies in the freezer.  So we had what I found in there--a chicken parm(again!) and a spinach souffle.

What got taken out of the freezer.......

Last week we spent $6.79 on groceries and the savings rate came in at 37.65%. Spending for the month is $95.60 and the savings rate is 46.87% for April before rebate monies are added in.

Total spent after rebates is $4.54 for April. I used some gift cards to pay so that is why my total is low. ;-)

"Crawfish Season is Here!"

Saw this at Walmart as part of a Coke display.   After Mardi Gras Season here comes Crawfish Season.  "Let the Good Times Boil" indeed.

7. Saturday--Steak, Salad

Just trying to eat down what is here when I'm not getting great deals.  I chose my meals by cherry picking the deals and building meals around those items, combined with what is in my freezer.

This Week on the Dining Table

"A Gentleman Caller".........


As Amanda Wingfield in the play, "The Glass Menagerie", called a potential beau for her daughter, a "Gentleman Caller", we had a Gentleman Caller of sorts here, again.
Yes, it was another Opossum wanting to sleep under our house.  I doubt it was the same one as before.  Hubs said this one had an attitude when he got trapped.
Hubs hauled his bony butt off to where we let them loose...a nature preserve far from our development.

2. Monday---Pork Tenderloin Sandwich, Leftover Yellow Squash
3. Tuesday--Chicken Marsala, Mashed Potatoes(optional), Leftover Broccoli
4. Wednesday--Beef, Stir-Fry Veggies
5. Thursday--Pot Pies(Chicken or Turkey)
6. Friday--Leftovers
7. Saturday--Leftovers(if no leftovers, we'll think up something else)

And here's what actually happened....
1. Sunday--Catfish, Teriyaki Green Beans
2. Monday---Pork Tenderloin Sandwich, Leftover Yellow Squash
3. Tuesday--TV dinner Teriyaki Chicken
4. Wednesday--Crab Cakes, Shrimp, Leftover Broccoli
5. Thursday--Chicken Marsala, Brussels Sprouts
6. Friday--Leftover Pork Tenderloin, Salad(Had that at Lunch)
7. Saturday--Leftover Chicken Marsala, Brussels Sprouts

Most everything happened but not necessarily when planned.  When didn't take out something to thaw on Wednesday and didn't feel like pot pies on another night plus we were out of Marsala wine so that meal had to wait until we picked some up.
