THOUGHTS & COMMENTS for this month.....
June was almost on target spending wise.  It's a good thing after May's budget buster.

The monthly food spending savings percentage went Down by 4.11% in June 2018 to 65.39% compared to May's 69.50% savings average.
The free stuff from Rite-Aid skewers my averages but without R-A I am at 53.78% savings.  So even without R-A we are doing well on the "savings" front.

With 6 months accounted for, I have spent a Grand Total of $2637.33 on food/toiletries in 2018 which is a 73.28savings rate for the year so far and averages out to $439.56 spent per month in 2018.  We are heading back down toward my $400 a month average target again and that's a good thing.

LOOKING AHEAD To July.......
Keeping with that $400 food budget for July.  If I go over as mush as $50 I am good with it since eldest son is coming home for a few days so we might splash out a bit more on food things.

If you have other ideas or guidelines you follow please leave a comment and share yours with us all.

*  How much did you spend on food/toiletries in June?
*  Do you track your yearly food spending?
*  What was your savings percentage buying on sale and/or with coupons vs. buying at regular retail price last month, if you track that sort of thing?
*  What are your methods for keeping your food spending in check?

Is anyone out there up for tracking expenditures and trying to spend less but still eat well?

TOTAL Value of Items Purchased............$727.33
TOTAL Savings of...................................36.24%

This closes out the June food/toiletries spending.

THOUGHTS & COMMENTS for this month.....

I wanted to get as far south of $400 of spending as possible.
Didn't happen, mostly due to extra food spending the last week of the month when #1 Son came home to visit.  At least I didn't hit $500+ like last month.

The yearly savings percentage went down 1.90% in June(46.60%).  In May it was 48.50%.  Savings is still in the 40's which is good.

LOOKING AHEAD TO JULY......

I am going to try for a $350 food spending month in July.
Not sure what July holds for me yet in terms of travel plans but food spending while traveling comes out of the entertainment budget and not the grocery/toiletries budget.  I am sure if/when I leave, Hubs will keep grocery shopping to a bare minimum.

Other than the traveling, there are no plans in July that would push the food budget higher.

If you have other ideas or guidelines you follow please leave a comment and share yours with us all.

Total spend on food/toiletries so far this year at the half year mark.....$2,499.84.
The average monthly food/toiletries spending this year so far is $407.22.
We are over $400 per month average now.  I hope to get it back under $400 as soon as possible.

*  How much did you spend on food/toiletries in June?
*  Do you track your yearly food spending?
*  If so, how are you doing at the halfway point for 2014?

I don't track Rite-Aid's +Ups here, nor CVS's ECBs & Walgreen's RRs. They will be included when used on purchases under "Coupons".   I'll keep track of what rebates are received monthly.  Rebate money/gift cards will be considered 'income' & will go into the Food/Toiletries budget, offsetting the Out of Pocket. Cash will go immediately into the Budget kitty, while Gift Cards will be calculated in when spent.

TOTAL Savings including Rebates...........$824.49
TOTAL Value of Items Purchased............$1,172.54

Since my Rite-Aid shopping(which contains No OOP)always skews my savings percentages, I like to figure my Totals without the Rite-Aid numbers also.
TOTAL OOP after Rebates.....$348.05
TOTAL Value of Items Purchases(w/out Rite-Aid items)....$802.18
TOTAL Savings After Rebates(w/out Rite-Aid items).....56.62%
My food savings percentage seems to run about 50%-60% for the strictly food items only.
Those Rite-Aid purchases always boost up my savings total about 20% points.

This closes out the June spending.

THOUGHTS & COMMENTS for this month-
Even with my rebates added to the food budget kitty, I went just south of $100 over my budget limit for the month.  Since I did some Catalina deals and threw a Party for 12 in June, I am not going to beat myself up over this overage.

What's ahead for July.....
We are down to 3 family members at home this month.  I hope to ease up on the food spending and try to eat from the stockpiled items in July.  July is also the beginning of fresh local produce season so I'll keep my budget at $250 as I will be getting farm produce to put up for winter.
