Finally!.....Shopping This Week

I finally got up to Rite-Aid and bought this stuff for College Boy......

1 x Similasan Eye Relief on clearance 75% off=$2.94
2 x Visine allergy formula 20% Wellness discount=$9.26
SubTotal........$12.20

Coupons Used
2 x $2/1 Visine In-AdQ=$4.00
2 x $1.50/1 Visine IPQ=$3.00
Coupon Total......$7.00

$12.20-$7.00=$5.20
But a $1.50 L2CQ came off(no clue I had that!)so it was $3.70 and $3 in Bonus Cash came off so I put the .70¢ left on my R-A gift card.
I also got a $3 Ibotta rebate on the Similisan and .25¢ rebate for buying anything at R-A so after $3.25 cash back I "spent down" .45¢ for all 3 items.

College Boy suffers greatly from allergies year round and his worst symptom are eye redness, itching and watering so these will come in handy and at a great price.

**************************

Then I hit Weis(PMITA)Markets and did a big shop(again!).

Here are the best deals I found........

5 more packs of discount sticker bacon, same brand, reg. variety.  $30-$15 stickers=$15 for all 5

2 packs of Johnsonville Beef Brats for $4 each.  After $2 discount sticker combined with a $1/2 ManuQ I had made each package $1.50.  Good price on all beef brats.

The 2 packs of meatballs were a 3 Day Sale item....reg. $5, on sale for $4 and had $1 stickers on them so $3 per 1 lb. package.  I can't make good meatballs myself for that price.

Also picked up but not pictured were 3 packages of thinly slice sirloin, a package of chicken breasts and a package of chicken thighs, all with $off discount stickers.  I used two packages last night of the steak to make steak sandwiches and all the rest are tucked away in the freezer.

Mayo and pineapple were on sale($2.87 and .99¢ respectively).  I used .50¢/1 Qs which doubled to $1 on the mayo and $1/2 Qs on the fruit giving me a final cost of $1.87 for each mayo and .49¢ per can of pineapple.
I forgot to photograph the 4 lb. bags of Domino sugar that were on sale for $1.88.  Two bags for $3.76 and I had a .75¢/2 IPQ that doubled to $1.50 so $1.13 per bag out the door.

Jolly Time popcorn was a 3 Day Sale item--Buy one/Get two free.  Reg. price of $2.87 making 6 boxes $5.74.  I used 3 x $1/2 Jollytime IPQs so $3 off, meant I paid $2.74 for 6 boxes or .46¢ per box.

The large container of Weis brand cottage cheese cost .19¢.  Reg. price of $3.19 and I had a digital Q for $3 off.

All the other items were Mix and Match Buy 6/Get $3 off items.......

2 x Breyer's ice cream $2.99 ea.
2 x Green Giant Veggie tots $3.49 ea.
1 x Daisy cottage cheese $2.49
3 x Minute Maid orange juice $2.99 ea.

1 x Kleenex 3 pack $3.99
3 x Cottonelle Wipes $1.99 ea.

$34.38 subTotal

$6 off 2 x MandM Discount and
$11 off in Manu/IPQs which doubled(some) so $17 off

$17.38 for all 12 items OOP.

And lastly I picked up 5 Flip yogurts at $1 each when you bought 5.
I had 4 x .50¢/1 Qs that doubled to $1 each so I paid $1 for all 5 of these so .20¢ OOP for each.

I don't consider this yogurt "food" as much as it's a snack/dessert.  If I am feeling the need for something chocolatey/desserty I can grab one of these to eat instead of eating my way through a pie/cake/bag of cookies, so good to have on hand.  ;-)

I didn't mean to do a big shop but then I found all those meat deals and oh well......

I am now over $300 spent in March on foodstuffs.  I shouldn't feel so bad/stressed at that amount since we are 4 adults at home now full time as CB isn't off at school anymore.
I think resetting my frame of mind here is in order and trying to stay under $300 a month is kind of unrealistic at least until the two kids move out.  I should be shooting for $400 per month with this many bodies to fee.

There may be a bit more picked up this week as well since I'll be making a trip to Ollie's to use that 10% off coupon I have and I never now what I'll find there that we can use.

Weis Deal Last Week

Sale ads at Weis(PMITA)Markets start on Thursday so this is the only notable deal I picked up on Wednesday(last sales ad)after getting an old filing fixed at the dentist and heading to the grocery store.......

8 x Wishbone dressings on sale $1.47 each=$11.76
I had 4 x $1/2 Wishbone items TearPad Qs that were expiring 4/1/17 to use.
$11.76-$4=$7.76 OOP
That makes each bottle .97¢ which is a good price here for the 16 oz. size ones.

I already have a supply of dressing here but not these varieties.  We use 1000 island on taco salads as well as Reuben sammiches and College Boy likes to dip his pizza in the Ranch variety.
I like to make my own vinaigrette and Italian fresh but having a bottle of such on hand when I don't have time or inclination to make them is a plan.

We are coming up on Salad Season here shortly.  In the Winter I am the only one basically who eats salad greens but once the weather warms up we all eat it more often.

Today is the Fantastic Friday Sale at Weis.  I may go up and pick up some strip steaks that are $5.66 lb. today only.  Hubs birthday is Wednesday so I may splurging and we may have an early birthday meal.

They also have whole fryers for .86¢ lb. and  Fiora TP 1/2 price today and I have a $1/2 ManuQ so I'll pick those up too on April's food budget.

Grocery Deals This Past Week

A few items I bought this past week.....all at Weis(PMITA)Markets.

Last Friday these were Buy One Get Two Free(reg. price $3.99).
I bought 6, paid for 2=$7.98
I used 2 x .55¢/1 ManuQs(doubled to $1 each)=$2.00 making the OOP $5.98 so less than $1 per bag.
I also earned $1 cash rebate in my SavingStar account so in the end, $4.98 paid for 6 bags.
(1 bag is missing as it is in a Christmas stocking.) 8-)

8 O'Clock Coffee was BOGO this past week.
At Weis even if an item is BOGO you can use 1 coupon for each item, even the one you are getting free.
So I got 8 bags(reg. price $5.49), paid for 4=$21.96
I used 8 x $1.50/1 IPQs so $12.00 off=$9.96.
I also have a $1.50/1 Weis Q which stacked so $9.96-$1.50=$8.46 or $1.06 per bag OOP.
(1 bag is missing here too since College Boy made coffee with one.)

Weis had/still has Angel Soft 12 packs of TP for $5.49 on sale.
I had a $1/1 IPQ making it $4.49.
I also had a $1/1 WeisQ that stacked making the final cost $3.49.

4 x Pepsi product sodas on sale for $11(must buy 4).
I used 2 x $2/2 Pepsi products 12-packs IPQs=$7
I unlocked and received a $4 Ibotta cash rebate for buying the 2 packs of new Mtn. Dew flavors, making my cost $3 for 4 12-packs, or .75¢ per 12-pack.
You will notice the "Mom's" notes on them all.  Not that I drink Mtn. Dew(I will drink a Dr. Pepper now and again)but in order to keep them from disappearing in a nanosecond permission has to be asked to have one otherwise these are not to be touched.  The things I have to do to monitor usage around here! ;-)

Select General Mills cereals were $1.88 per box in the ad that just finished at Weis(Must buy 4 to get this price.)
2 boxes of Chex(for making Muddy Buddies)and 2 boxes of Cheerios were purchased for $7.52.
I used a .50¢/1 Cheerios(doubled to $1 off)ManuQ and a $1/2 Chex ManuQ making this $5.52 for 4 boxes.  I'll receive $2($1 for buying 2 Chex, $1 for buying 2 Cheerios)cash rebates back in my SavingStar account and I also got $1 cash back in Ibotta for buying the Chex so these 4 boxes will end up costing $2.52 total, or .63¢ per box.

I also bought 3 Pillsbury crescent "whack" rolls for $6 total.
I used a $1/3 IPQ and will get back $1 in SavingStar, making these $4 total for 3 tubes.

I get the Cabot brand emailed newsletter and had printed off a $1/1 Cabot cheese IPQ last month. Weis had Cabot chunks for $2.50 on sale this past week so I got 2 chunks for $1.50 each with coupon/sale price.

That's the extent of my grocery deals this week and my shopping adventures.  No retail therapy around here as all the Christmas gifties were bought and paid for by early December.
Nothing much to do around here ltely except grocery shop, make cookies and cook meals.
Oh, and taking care of that invalid guy that showed up. 8-)

December Grocery Budget Update & Grocery Deals This Week

After receiving another $7.50 in my SavingStar account, $1 in my Checkout51 account and $2 more in my Ibotta account, here is the updated December Grocery Budget.....

Gift Cards.....$64.36
Cash Rebates--
 Savingstar...$142.03
 Checkout51..$42.25
 Ibotta..........$33.50
Rolled Coins...$87.50
Other Cash(post coupons)...$42.00

Total.....$411.64

After spending $149.14 the last 2 weeks on groceries I have $262.50 left to spend on food in December, coming into this week.

Here are some of the good Deals I got this past week......

Snapple and Ortega were part of the Mix & Match 6/Get $3 off Deal.
4 x Ortega shells=$5.96($1.49 ea.)
2 x Snapple 64 oz.=$3.98
$9.94
I used 2 x $1/2 Ortega items IPQ($2 off)and 1 x $1/2 Snapple 64 oz. Weis QBookQ($1 off)...$9.94-$3=$6.94-$3 for buying 6 qualifying items for the Deal=$4.94 for all 6 items.

I also bought Marcal napkins.....

2 x $2 on sale=$4.00- 2 x .50¢/1 IPQs that doubled to $1 each($2 off)=$2.00.
I also earned .50¢ in my SavingStar account for buying 1 pack of napkins so $1.50 OOP for both packs.

Weis also had Fiora towels and toilet paper half price last Friday ($3.49 each).
I printed off 4 more .50¢/1 FB Qs that doubled to $1 off each to use.
$13.96-$4.00=$9.96
I also earned $2 in Ibotta cash rebates($1 for buying 1 paper towel pack and $1 for buying 1 toilet paper pack) so $7.96 OOP for all 4 packs or $1.99 per pack.
A great price for paper goods.

All the above was bought in the same shopping trip on Friday and I earned a 61% savings rate over regular retail before the $2.50 in cash rebates also earned from buying these products.
The savings rate goes up to 67.30% once you figure in the rebates too.  8-)))

The only notable Deal this week so far has been this one.......

4 x Finlandia butter at Weis(PMITA)Markets bought over the course of 2 weeks(3 packs this week, 1 pack last week).

These are regularly $3 per 7 oz. package but are on sale for $2.50.
There are $1/1 Finlandia products Qs on coupons dotcom making each package $1.50.
4 x $2.50=$10.00-$4 Qs=$6.00 OOP

By buying 4, I spent $10 before Qs, thus fulfilling a Spend $10/Get $3 Cash Rebate in my SavingStar account.

$6-$3 rebate=$3 OOP

There is a $1 cash rebate on Checkout51 too for the butter.  I bought one of these the week before(on sale and using a $1 off coupon)so I could apply for the rebate last week and also again this week.
$3-$2 rebates=$1.00 OOP

In the end, I "spent" $1 on 4 packs of butter totaling 28 ounces.
Not bad, huh?

I never would have spent $3 or even $2.50 and probably not even $1.50 on a 7 oz. pack of butter.
But throw in the $5 in rebates and I am all over this deal. lolz

I'll be back tomorrow with what I got at Rite-Aid this week.

Weis Shopping & Future Mayo

I went to Weis(PMITA)Markets on Tuesday to get a few things.
Today is the last day of the sales flyer in which they have assorted items for .88¢ each when you purchase in increments of 8.  I did that deal yesterday and also got a few other deals......

The 9 Barilla pasta boxes, the 4 Knorr noodle bags, the 2 Powerade Zeros and the box of Scotties tissue were all .88¢ ea.
I had $5.25 in coupons of this stuff--3 x $1/3 Barilla, 2 x $1/2 Knorr and a store generated Catalina Q for .25¢ Scotties tissues--so $8.83 for all 16 items.  Most of that pasta and those noodles will be going to the food bank.

I had a $1/2 Pillsbury refrigerated items(coupons dotcom)IPA and those were on sale for $1 each, making the biscuits .50¢ a tube.....with the cost of flour and butter, I can't make biscuits for that cheap! lol
I also found this flavor of G2 Gatorade bottles on clearance for .50¢ each so I picked up 4.

I found a bag of onion rolls 50% in the Bakery Dept. for $1.64 and this package of almost 1 lb. of Angus cube steaks marked down AND with a $2 Instant Discount sticker, making it $2.92. (The beef goes in the freezer awaiting College Boy's return for Spring Break as he loves Chicken Fried Steak.)

I spent $16.65(w/tax) on $41.68 worth of regular retail groceries, giving me a 60% savings rate for these purchases.

Just a note--
This Friday when Weis(PMITA)Markets holds their Friday Sale they are going to have Hellman's mayonnaise on sale for 50% off.  That's a good deal to begin with and if you can combine the $1/2 Hellman's in the 1/3 inserts that would make it $1.50 per jar which is an even better price.

Better still for me, I can combine that sale with a coupon in that Unilever NYE Party booklet I got at Walmart while shopping with my Eldest son down in F'burg at the end of December..........

Reg. price of $3.99, on sale for $1.99, use $1/1 Q=.99¢ mayo.
Sweet!

Of course these Qs say only 2 identical Qs in a shopping trip and I have 5 of them so I'll have to do 3 transactions.  I'll go to the self-checkout registers so this won't be a problem and I wouldn't have to keep getting back in line to get all my mayo.

Mayo for the food bank, here we come!! lolz

Thursday in the new ad at Weis and there is Purex laundry detergent for $1.97 per jug.  I plan to get 8-10 of those and this, along with everything else I bought this month and the toiletries I got for free at Rite-Aid recently will give me a full food bank donation to take in next week.
I'll pile it all together for a photo before I haul it off.  8-)))

And I'll deduct everything I've spent on food bank goodies from my food budget for January as it's not goods we will keep and use.  While this will bring down my food spending total for Jan. it won't get me under budget by a long shot since I wheel and deal to get this stuff for free or very inexpensively, just like the food I buy that we do eat.  ;-)

I Went to Rite-Aid & Weis

Yes, shocking I know!
I actually went to Rite-Aid to get a freebie and some bottle water but ended up getting 2 other items as well once I got into the store.......

The bottled water(not pictures)was 2 cases for $4 and you go $1 back in Plenti Pts. so effectively it was $1.50 per case.  Best price around here now for bottled water.
College Boy carted all of my bottled water off to college so I needed to restock that.

The razor(pack of 4 disposables)was on sale $7.
There was an in-ad Q for $3 off which I combined with a $4/1 Manu. Q, making it free.

The Neutrogena soap was BOGO 50% off....$3.29 for one + $1.64 the other=$4.93 a pair and gave back $5 in Plenti Pts. per pair so effectively free.

The Suave 'Poo is 2/$6 and you get back $3 in Plenti Pts. when you spend $10 on this item.
So 4 bottles cost me $12(over the $10 threshold), minus 1 x $3/2 Suave ManuQ(from Sunday's inserts) + minus 1 x $3/2 Suave Load2Card Q.
$12-$6=$6 + $3 in Pts. back.
BUT.....there is a SavingStar electronic Q for $3/2 Suave 'Poos so I'll get $3 in a cash back rebate in that account making this deal $12-$6Qs=$6-$3 Pts.=$3-$3 Savingstar rebate=$0.
Free 'Poo!

Going into this transaction I had $16 in Plenti Pts.

At the register the money was like this.....
$32.86 Subtotal, Minus $13 in Qs, Equals $19.86.  I used $14 of my Points(since my items would give me back $14 in Points)which brought the total to $5.86 + .96¢ tax=$6.82.
I paid $6.82 with my Rite-Aid gift card.
I got $14 in new Plenti Pts.
I'll get $3 of the $6.82 I spent on the gift card back in a rebate, effectively making everything "cost" $3.82, which is basically 3/4 of the price of the cases of water plus tax.
$47.79 worth of regular retail goods for $3.82.

And I still have $16 in Plenti points.

The one good thing about this new Plenti Points system is that I don't have to "spend" my points within 2 weeks like with the +Up Rewards system.
So I don't have to buy anything every 2 weeks if I don't want/need to.  I have 2 years to spend these Plenti pts. which leads to a lot slower accumulation of toiletries/HBA items.
Instead of a trip at least once every 2 weeks, I can just go when I am either out of something(not happening anytime soon!lol)or if there is something free after sale/Qs/pts.

Much better plan all-around.

Of course the deals just aren't as good anymore so there's the downside.

Moving on............

I also stopped in at Weis while I was out.
There are 2 deals worth doing this week there for me and both are running off of reg. shelf/retail price and not the sale prices of the items!
1-low cost Vlasic pickles, Wishbone salad dressing and condiments.  The deal is spend $15 and get $3 instantly back.
We are totally out of yellow mustard and I "heart" pickles so those both were going to part of the deal I ran.
2-low cost assorted Kraft owned brands from Kool-Aid to coffee to cheese.  The deal is spend $20 and get $5 instantly back.
Can you say more cheap cheese like that week this past June?!?

I ran each deal once(limit of 1 offer per transaction)and ended up paying $1 an item for the pickle/condiment group and .50¢ an item for the Kraft group.

I made a video about this shopping trip and you can see it HERE.
Please excuse my grammar in it as I kept saying "was" in reference to plural subjects instead of "were".  I blame the lack of oxygen in the air here.  ;-)

As for the Kraft Deal at Weis, even if you have no coupons and just buy the Cracker Barrel brand cheese logs you'll spend OOP $5 on 5-8 oz. logs so $1 per item, making this $2 a pound for cheese.  Where else are going to pay that little for cheese??
So get to Weis this week and get your cheese on.....
