Here are the frugal wins for this past week....
* We have been hemorrhaging money lately. Can't be helped. I really don't want to go through this again. Parts of it were a nightmare!
* We got take-out only once at the new place.
* The journey up here wasn't very frugal(more on that later)but we got to PA in one piece.
* We finished up the Goodwill donations in LA. Go us!
* Everything it turns out wouldn't fit on the moving truck(ugh)so some items got left behind and I wasn't there to decide what got left.(double ugh) Not frugal.
* We've been paying deposits for services in PA which hasn't been very frugal but it is what it is and can't be avoided.
* Entertainment the week before last was watching some tv shows and packing boxes. lol It's hard to spend money if you are sitting home packing up your stuff. ;-) Last week the "fun" was setting up the house. And shopping for necessities and food.
* We needed some room darkening curtains(the house came with blinds)for the bedroom so we hit Ollie's("Good Stuff Cheap!")and found what we needed at a cheaper price.
I found .27¢ at the Aldi on the Sunday before last.
Then I found .01¢ at the Doctor's office on the Tuesday before last.
Then I found another penny in a different Walmart parking lot.
Any frugal wins in your neck of the woods? Let's hear all about them!

Publix had lots of BOGOs that we needed. We tried to buy a Honda Pilot 2025, but the dealer said they do not negotiate. We would have to pay the list price! The two doors we bought for the house were not cheap. I returned the HP because I did not want to go back to store ever again. So, they lost sale of printer, file cabinet and other supplies. It seems it is hard to spend money. But, we have plenty of bogo pb.

You did well on finding money this week! I’m glad you are get settled in and moving is one of those times I would eat out too because of exhaustion! 😂
ReplyDeleteFive bags of Sun Chips were free at Kroger after sale and Ibotta rebates and bonus. The rebate reappeared and I’m seven items away from another bonus so may do the deal again. That’s a lot of Sun Chips but I can use them as a cracker substitute.
ReplyDeleteWe use to live in Plum Borough (husband job in Monroeville ) in the 90’s lived there for about 10 yrs. The ONLY time I’ve EVER seen my husband cry was when we had to say goodbye to friends we met there. Man my eyes are sweating now… But Texas is our home. -Rosa R
ReplyDeleteWith the recent announcement of 'no more pennies" I am more aware of them when I see one and pick it up.
ReplyDeleteI forgot the best sale. My a2milk was only $9/gal.
ReplyDeletemilk sale was practical parsimony.
ReplyDeleteI love your honest take—sometimes life’s “entertainment” is just getting things done!
ReplyDeletePacking boxes is definitely a workout in itself, and you’re right, it’s hard to splurge when you’re surrounded by your stuff in boxes!
Setting up the new place and shopping for essentials sounds like a busy but rewarding week.
Here’s to hoping the next week brings a little more fun and a bit less packing!
One big positive is that you are back home. Things will settle soon. Well done on all the money finds! Even though we live thousands of miles and an ocean away, everytime I find a coin I think of you.
