Frugal Friday...the Dec.20th Edition

Here are our frugal wins for this past week......

*  I love going to Kroger here as they usually have marked down salad kits.  I got a couple this week but not too many to use up before we leave town.

*  We also had no food waste last week.  We ate everything in the fridge or put it into the freezer.

* Did 3 Flavorwiki taste testings and earned $13.53 over and above the cost of the items.

*  I sold some gift sets this week locally on FB.  These are gifts I no longer need for people no longer in my life.  I plan to sell as much as I can before we move.  I have toiletries to unload after Christmas.  The less we have to cart out of here the better. 8-)
$62 made so far.
Anything we can't sell I'll donate to the food bank.

*  Entertainment last week was free tv or playing with the dogs.

*  I found money!

I went to Walmart and Dollar General on the 14th and  thought I had found 2 pennies and the former and 1 penny at the latter.  But once I got home and went to clean them I saw that all three had another penny stuck to them! lol  So I ended up with 6 cents total.

Then I found myself back at DG on Tuesday.  There was a dime in the parking lot behind my car and when I went back out to my car I noticed a penny next to my car.

Total Found last week..... .17¢

Grand Total Found this Year.......$9.72 & 5.30 Euros  I may hit $10 found before the year is out at this point.

That's all I got.

Any frugal wins in your neck of the woods?  Let's hear all about them!

  1. Mostly maximizing food here since it's been an expensive month. The $10.50 huge 22 pound turkey was finally cooked and I have packages galore in the freezer, plus soup stick for two massive pots. I'll be bringing both to family. My son was very happy to get two turkey legs since he missed out on them at both and amusement park and the State Fair- sold out.

    1. Yes, getting out of this state asap and away from our lying, backstabbing daughter. We only moved here at her behest that she wanted us near to take care of us as we aged. Then 6 months in she basically abandoned us after we stopped giving her money. Her true colors came out.

  3. I didn't realize you were moving. What a chore. I totally relate with not having some family members in your life. It is difficult, but necessary at times. Best wishes! Merry Christmas!! Paula

  4. Our Kroger has a lot of decent sales regularly too and I've saved a lot of money stocking up on items we use regularly until the next sale. I still remember packing and moving from one state to another and it is not an easy task. Have you decided on a new location yet?

  5. Horray for moving. I hope you can be happy but I also worry nothing Makes you happy. Life is long so find things you enjoy. Join a gym, a club, etc. use your body and mind. Work on mending it wish your kids. They will be forgiving in time.

  6. Stuck together pennies? Eeew! I hate finding those. I imagine with what you have been through, moving will be a relief more than a chore.

  7. Sounds like a good week. Good plan to donate what you can't sell to the food pantry.
