ReplyDeleteFrankly, the former guy, who, among other things, tried to seize power and wipe out 80 million votes will always be, in my mind, the worst. Did you read the "1776 Project" report he commissioned?? Terrifying. As for other presidents, Ronald Reagan was the antichrist, imo. As far as I am concerned, Ben, John-Birch-Society loving Shapiro is a buffoon, who probably wants to see the former guy's 2025 plan come to fruition. But, hey, yeah Christian Nationalism, boo LGBTQ rights, no? Ben Shapiro....bleah.

While the JBS is past it's glory days, I am sure Ben Shapiro is not a supporter of them nor Christian Nationalism, being a conservative Jew(did you notice the kippah he always wears?) But this wasn't about Mr. Shapiro's political leanings but a video of some of the worst US Presidents in terms of their policies, what they did to our nation as a whole(involve us in 2 world wars-FDR should be on this list as well, step on the Constitution, assume powers their office did not afford them, bring our country to the edge of economic disaster, etc.) Funny how all the liberals scream about Trump's sexual misbehaviors but no one sees Clinton's flagrant disregard for women's rights and sexual abuses as just as bad(because he was a Democrat-though by today's standards he'd be considered more middle of the road than a leftist). While Mr. Shapiro's opinions on the worse Presidents may be colored by his conservative views(as are ALL our views)he makes a lot of sensible, correct assertions in this video. He does mention that the ONLY good thing LBJ accomplished was his civil rights and voting rights record. Weighed against his Great Society scheme which spent billions of taxpayers $$ and accomplished Nada and involving us deeper in the Vietnam War....you be the judge if he deserves to be among the worst.

And I followed Ben for a long time, back in his Breitbart days, and read with my own eyes, and and heard with my own ears his anti LGBTQ vitriol, AND his speaking in favor of a JBS sponsored, QAnon spouting seminar being offered near these parts. But, hey, you do you, as they say.

DeleteIMHO Clinton got away with a lot in terms of his sexual misdeeds. You will remember that his wife remained silent all through that mess. Then when the Harvey Weinstein allegations came out and Clinton was connected to all his shenanigans, it just makes one wonder how bad his behavior behind closed doors was. Clinton down right lied to Congress when he said, "I never had sex with that woman." in regards to Monica Lewinsky.
DeleteAnd to Meg B. , don't forget that Obama was spouting anti-LGBTQ+ vitriol as a junior State Senator from IL. He changed his tune once he got wind that he might have a shot at the Presidency.
And Obama was president when marriage equality became the law of the land. I can forgive him that. I cannot forgive him not making reproductive freedom a constitutional right, which I believe he could have achieved. I don't ever believe I will find the perfect candidate/elected official. I support those who most closely align with my values. Former guy, who Shapiro seems to have gone from criticizing to worshipping former guy who pushed a lie and tried to obliterate 89million votes, fomented violence and attempted a coup, a candidate who doesn't at all represent my values. And I also don't listen to or read commentary from analysts who actively support denying a group of people basic human rights.

ReplyDeleteSo Sue, which 5 Presidents would you consider the worse and why? What I choose to watch is better than all that dumb mind-numbing network tv stuff like The Bachelor, insipid sitcoms, action hero dramas, etc. What do YOU watch since you seem to be such a political scholar?
DeleteMy dear sweet blogging friends: I have worked with hundreds of politicians from both political parties, daily, over my almost 37 year career. I have worked and known everyone from highly ranked national politicians, and certainly an enormous number of mostly state politicians. A gentle reminder to remember one thing, politicians have narcissistic tendencies, and will say or do anything to win, which is why they will reverse their positions. They want to stay in power, it is their drug of choice, and they will generally stomp on and destroy anyone who, they feel, knows “dirt” on them or is a threat. A half truth is a whole lie and they are the story tellers of half truths and have destroyed or almost destroyed many loyal and innocent members of both parties. Do not ask me how I know this. While there are very very few who are not “like that” just know most crave the power and don’t get hung up on their shortcomings and personalities. You can vote for whichever part you feel supports your view of the issues. Just know that the leaders are on a drunk power high. So don’t get mad at each other. Both party leaders suck and so do their lieutenants. The end. Cindy in the South

DeleteI posted a harmless video about the Worst US Presidents by a conservative. If someone disagrees that's fine but give me your choices and back them up with facts.
As I've said many times, Washington warned the country about the dividing qualities of political parties in his Farewell Speech.
IMO, most politicians are narcissistic lying sacks of you-know-what and will say anything to get elected. You can trust them as far as you can swing a dead cat(no disrespect to cats).
