What a Joke!

Some one I went to school with who sells houses part time in MD reposted this post from an agent there on her FB wall.....

What's stopping you from purchasing this 30 MILLION Dollar property in St. Mary's County. #PricedtoSell#hillteam
19700 MULBERRY FIELDS ROAD, LEONARDTOWN, MD 20650 | Chris Hill

Unless you are Warren Buffet, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos or one of that crowd, a 30 MILLION DOLLAR house/property is decidedly NOT #PricedtoSell. lolz  Plus this house is in Podunk Maryland so yeah, it's way over priced for it's location.

I  couldn't resist leaving this comment replying to this agent about his Priced to Sell property.....

"What's stopping me from purchasing this 30 Million $$ Property? Well let's start with 30 Million $$......"

Clueless RE Agents abound.  Priced to sell?  Not to a normal person.....

  1. I don’t think I would buy it even if I had $30m and a helicopter. Looks like a large heating bill and drafts! Hilogene in Az.

    1. Likewise I can think of much better ways to spend $30M Hilogene. ;-)

  2. It’s just marketing aimed to get attention and start chatter. And even humour. They were clearly successful.

Why are You always so nasty to people working? Doesn’t make sense to sit around and be crabby at working people.

    1. So what makes you think I am crabby and nasty toward working people? Granted I am not a fan of real estate agents as that industry is riddled with liars and greedy a$$holes, having dealt with a few more than I'd like(plus a relative is a RE agent).
I was just making a joke, or do you not understand jokes?

I don't get drawing attention to a $30M home by posting it on FB. How many millionaires do you think scroll FB on a regular basis?

I was once a "working person" too so crawl back into your judgmental hole Anonymous.

  3. But, but, but the rentals generate $70,000 in income. Bargain investment.

    1. Looks like a lot of work, especially if you have to play landlord to generate that investment income. And let's not mention that MD is a high tax state....

  4. She's not exactly appealing to upper-tier buyers with that come-on, either. That's not how the rich buy things.

    1. I also doubt that rich people buy $30M homes from FB posts either.....lol

  5. I always thought I wanted a mansion then I realized who is cleaning all that? And the property taxes, the bills etc. No thanks.

  6. I would die from laughter if the house needed extensive repairs and renovations, like the one in the movie "The Money Pit."

  7. It is unreal! And the price of rent around here is higher than people make it a month. We are talking $3100 per month! It’s crazy!

  8. We lived in St. Mary’s County in the early 1980s and while you could call it “backwater” back then, it was on it’s way up and is now a ritzy bedroom county for Washington, D.C., Annapolis, and home to the Patuxent River Naval Air Test Center which is filled with all sorts of navy higher-ups. Current housing prices are in tune with what the military and government are paying for housing allowances (generous amounts), but those are not getting anyone a $30M house! I’m guessing $4M - $5M is the top price there these days, and that’s for something on the water. St. Mary’s is a pretty area of MD (although with the absolute worst humidity I’ve ever experienced) but tobacco farming is over and the seafood industry isn’t what it once was either. Navy & government bring in the $$$$$$ now. Laura/The Occasional Nomads

    1. Replying to my own comment (LOL) - I found that house online and it’s a MAJOR historic property sitting on 500 acres 😲 of waterfront property. As a commercial property (i.e. vacation getaway location) I could see it being VERY popular for higher up government and navy types, or as a wedding venue, etc. It will probably be sold, but not for $30M. I laughed at their marketing (“What’s stopping you . . .”) and it being shown on Facebook. Someone was showing off and not doing a very good job of it! Absolutely ridiculous.
