Hubs hit Walmart a few times for various items to the tune of $55.50 last week.
This brings our food/toiletries/paper goods Total to $188.51 for December.
There are 0 shopping days left in December.
I've earned $56.50 on Ibotta in December.
I've earned $1.00 on Checkout51 in December.
I've earned $15.00 on Coupons dotcom in December.
I've earned 2,688 points from shopping on Fetch in December.
I earned 4,770 points from food shopping on Shop Kick in December.
I've earned 1,177 SB from food shopping on Swag Bucks in December.
That's $72.50 in rebates(not counting the Shop Kick/Swag Bucks/Fetch)on $188.51 in grocery spending so in reality it's $116.01 in food spending after the 3 rebate apps I count.
My savings percentage for the last week was 53.06% and the monthly savings total for December comes in at 43.18% so far.

I am still not suppose to stand/walk if possible so Hubs has been "cooking". You'll see he got take-out the last 2 nights as all the easy meals are gone except for the 2 last tv dinners.
I took a whole chicken out of the freezer 2 days ago but it's still not thawed. The only fresh produce I have is a couple of onions and half a bag of carrots. Perhaps I'll be able to roast the chicken later this week and get back into some kind of routine.
What do I need to buy to fix everything on this menu? Not planning but I'll buy what we need when it's needed. I haven't set foot in a grocery store since Dec. 6th.
What is getting fixed and served at your house this week?
Was last week's plan successful, did you go off plan or did you not even plan what was going to be eaten last week?
Any deals on food at your stores this week?
Sluggy
Glad to know you are resting your leg. Laughed at your husband cooking comment. My husband, when cooking, would deliver a sleeve of ritz crackers and a jar of peanut butter. Well, we didn’t starve ;). Hilogene in Az
ReplyDeleteHey, Sluggy - found Joel's obit - though it would be nice to share with the many readers of yours/Kim's.............

Thank you so much, a very well written obituary. Love to Kim and her family. Hilogene in Az
Deletethank you for sharing, Been praying for the family to get through with strength and grace... Blessed Be
DeleteMaybe you need more tv dinners. How long will you be off your feet?
ReplyDeleteI am still finding turkey breast for $1.49/lb, so I will keep buying more. I buy two, thaw both, cook both, take it off the bone, freeze, and buy another two. They are more easily stored cooked and off the bone, so my freezer holds more. Some Publix don't have them. My a2milk is on sale for 3/$12, up from 3/$10 last time! Not good. We bought 6 half gallons and the refrigerator is stuffed.
Way to go Dan!
ReplyDeleteTheHub can cook grits and cheese toast and that is about it, but he is great at fetching take-out.
I hope you feel better soon. The picture of your leg looked pretty gruesome.
January (I hope) will have little bought and little eaten. I hope to save money and loose kilos this way.
ReplyDeleteActually, I am staying at a friend's house, and she's been feeding me this week. But I will return home on Friday. And I am determined to get back to way of eating that helps me with my weight, and other bodily functions.
ReplyDeleteSunday was leftover pork roast from freezer, mashed potatoes and kraut (home made)
ReplyDeleteMonday was eat out as we ended up with what was supposed to be a 2 hr. deal being an all day. So we ate out and then went to the grocery store instead of doing it as planned
Tuesday was errand and appts with grocery moved up to Monday which was a good thing. Ran into some friends we hadn't seen for months and we decided to go to Hong Kong Buffet for late lunch/early supper. so was glad we changed when to get groceries We paid for them. Good choice as I was going to get them gift cards at Hong Kong and would have spent twice as much on the gift card. With a couple comments made I can say they are struggling a bit with changing over to Medicare with drug costs.
Tonight I am having leftover from Sunday pork roast in enchiladas using tomatoes, bell peppers and onion and Spanish rice and mandarin oranges.
Thursday we are having leftover French toast and pancakes, potato cakes and 3 sausage links from Monday's eating out, I will chop the sausage up into a couple eggs and put peach pie filling on the French toast and pancakes instead of syrup.
Friday we are having Mushroom Wellington (From Blogger Sam, coffee, money and Thyme)Baked sweet potato and broccoli and salad
Saturday will be Philly cheese steak (leftover from Christmas and froze) pizza with cauliflower crust.
Sunday will be soup and bread.
Hope you get well soon. Yes, we actually had two tornado warnings Tuesday night/early morning hours of Wednesday, but I was so tired as having flown in from out West at 3 am Tuesday morning that I rolled over and went back to sleep.a tornado apparently hit my aunts old neighborhood in Montgomery.
