Hello Sluggy!!
ReplyDeleteMy daughter is heading off to college at the end of August - so what is going on in my world is reducing, cleaning, & packing! She doesn't want to bring too much & I don't want her to leave a bunch of 'extra' stuff here for me to contend with. Currently there are a lot of different piles in every room - argh!!

It’s blasted hot here in NJ - but I shouldn’t complain, Zi know it’s hot everywhere, including Europe!
ReplyDeletejust got back from Spain - had a great first 3 days and then spent the rest of the time in quarantine with Covid so aa win here would be a great pick me up :)
ReplyDeleteSorry, that last one re: Spain I don't think had my name - Sue L.
ReplyDeleteI need to invisible fortune cookie!
ReplyDeleteI love sample sizes!
ReplyDeleteToday I am keeping my niece's seven kiddos. It's going to be a loud crazy, but hopefully a good day. :)

enjoying summer with the kids out of school while working from home! grateful that they are old enough to fence for themselves!

Jre well tomorrow is my second cataract surgery so I could use a treat. It actually isn’t too hard but I don’t like it. But I try to put a positive spin on things. Laying around a couple of days and I can make kids and grandkids do heavier lifting/yard work (I’ll milk this a little!) is one bonus, plus better vision. But it does classify me as old :( . joannrae@hotmail.com
ReplyDeletePlans right now are to jump in the pool whenever I’m hot. I can work in the garden for about 5 minutes before overheating.
ReplyDeleteJen G.
There's a lot going on in my world that I won't get into. Currently listening to a huge, loud storm outside. We desperately need the rain so I am not complaining. Hoping kids, especially Ben, stays asleep.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could give you an elegant answer -- but the truth is, I'm sick. And so is Husband. It's not Covid, but we're both sneezing, coughing and running fevers. Oh goody.
ReplyDeleteToday I am all about small goals. It will be hot, but I want to feel like I am accomplishing something. Goal #1 is to donate one box of stuff. I will walk around house and basement and only stop when the box is full! Goal #2 is to shred everything that is in the shred 'pile'. Lastly, Goal #3 is to mend the three things in that 'pile'.
ReplyDeleteWhat about you Sluggy? Goals for today?

So I kept my niece's children yesterday and then my MIL fell after they left, requiring stitches at the ER. So it was a long day, but hopefully today will be much calmer. I have bills to pay, but other than that I hope to be in recovery mode. :)
ReplyDeleteToday I'm making mint-lime simple syrup and blueberry limeade concentrate. Mint and blueberries ate from my garden and the limes are from bags of limes on the clearance rack at Harris Teeter for $1.

ReplyDeleteI shredded four giant zucchini during lunch. It’s probably close to twenty pounds in the freezer. We’re constantly checking but those suckers are sneaky!
ReplyDeleteJen G.
Weeding, weeding, and more weeding! Why do they all seem to pop up when it is in the 90's!?!?

Today I made and canned 8 jars of strawberry lemonade concentrate. I also made 4 pounds of chicken salad for my nephew's fiancé's bridal shower tomorrow. My reward for doing all that is I'm floating in my pool!

Cooking day here. So far I’ve made salsa and cut up half of a watermelon. Peanut noodles are next and the clothesline is full of sheets and towels. But for now I’m getting in the pool.
ReplyDeleteJen G.
Not much going on here. Made stuffed hot peppers and mashed potatoes for dinner.
ReplyDeleteWent to my nephew's fiancee's bridal shower today. Came home with 2lbs of the 4 lbs of chicken salad I made for it. Guess what I'll be having for lunch this week! Afterwards, I picked up 2 cases of 6x9 padded envelopes for free from someone on FBMP. These will be a big help with shipping my Amazon orders!

Watering and weeding, watering and weeding - my summer mantra.
ReplyDeletelingerlonger8@gmail.com
I added shredded zucchini to tofu scramble this morning instead of spinach. It’s even better so now have a plan for all those shreds taking up freezer space.
ReplyDeleteJen G.
Super hot and humid today in NE Ohio. Summer slowdown on Ebay-put a Christmas in July Sale on.
ReplyDeleteThis past week was keeping extra kiddos, freezing peas, and making & canning salsa. Today has been church, nap, sitting in my swing, and trying to live through the heat here in Alabama. Its been a hot one.

The 50% off coupon that expired in April is still working at Papa John’s so I picked up breadsticks during lunch. I’ll probably be there every Monday until it stops working.
ReplyDeleteJen G.
Today I did laundry, cleaned my hallway (it has bookshelves and is the place all the clutter ends up) and helped my son with two Boy Scout Merit badges. I'm about to put the kitchen to bed and hopefully be done for the day!
ReplyDeleteLeftovers tonight. I made chicken and rice last night so I have plenty. I have no desire to step foot into a grocery store. Using food I have on hand. Can't wait till the garden starts producing!
ReplyDeleteHappy Tuesday!, thinking of doing some back to school work, washing the backpacks and lunchboxes and see what we will need/have for the next school year!
ReplyDeletefunny story: my daughters have been using the same backpack since 4k and they look awesome!,
Martha F
I'm moving very slow this morning, but hope to get some general housecleaning done and run several errands. And try to figure out something for supper. Its too hot to even think about food.
ReplyDeleteWe have rain and it’s cooled off enough to open windows. Cats are happy. The pool is going to cool off so I put the solar cover back on.
ReplyDeleteJen G.
Trying to clean and organize all the stuff from the auction. Feeling a little off today-stomach issues-blah!
ReplyDeleteI really need that fortune cookie. I am doing all of the things and making part of the money right now. Housework is caught up and no project have been started. I have also not started canning this year. But I am getting a lot of pool time.
ReplyDeleteLast night I decided to rearrange my shipping area since I had picked up 2 boxes of free padded envelopes on Saturday. Needed to edit, purge and rearrange. Finished it up this afternoon and it looks great! The weather's a bit cooler today so I'm going to make a loaf of bread in the bread machine. Yum!

Struggling with have adult children who think I need to do more for them. They are successful with children of their own, but it seems like they consider me a sad version of a grandparent. Honestly, it hard to believe. On a side note, if I win, I will donate the box to a women's shelter that I am volunteering at called Transformation Village.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to go thru surplus food and plan meals so we are rotating thru it! Bonnie S
