One of my favorite college roommates was from Mississippi.
ReplyDeleteI've learned that folks in Alabama (which is 49th out of 50 in so many categories) have a saying..."Thank God for Mississippi." LOL
ReplyDeleteI've never been to Mississippi-not even through. Generally though, I find I like people from anywhere. The state leadership needs to figure out where to invest resources better. Still, it sure seems whenever anyone is trying to give rationale for anything bad going on in their own state, the first thing they'll say is , "at least we're not Mississippi."
ReplyDeleteWe call Mississippi the "Thank God State". Keep us from being dead last!
ReplyDeleteAlabama is usually 49th. I assure you that having the means to own a BMW assures life is easier.
ReplyDeleteOne thing Mississippi is not last in is good looks. There is a joke at Ole Miss " Know what you call an ugly girl on campus? A visitor"
ReplyDeleteMiss America from Mississippi--four times. 1959,1960,1980, 1986--hope I remembered that correctly.
DeleteVery true, but do the girls age well? =)
DeleteJudging from the women I know from Mississippi, I would have to say yes, very well!
DeleteNevertheless MS is on the list of states not seen yet. I should go have a look-see.
