Some of My Ancestral English Relatives

John of Gaunt and Katherine Swynford are my direct Great Grandparents.(19th)

This means Henry VII(Tudor)is my 3rd cousin 17x removed and his son, Henry VIII is my 3rd cousin 16x removed.

Here's a video all about the founding of the House of Tudor.

  1. I find that amazing since my maternal great grandparents are all buried in two different counties in this state and I see their graves once a year. The paternal great grandparents are also buried in the same counties. Your great grandparents , however, sound like they are buried across the pond! Fascinating!!!Cindy in the South

    1. I know where my maternal GGrands are buried but not my paternal ones. Paternals were immigrants but the maternal ones were here about 400 yrs. at that point.

  3. How fun to be related to royalty. My claim would be that my husband is related to Lord Soper, not a hereditary Lord. So no castle involved!
