IF Army grandson comes home from Italy, we will be traveling to see him at his mother's. IF not we might do a drive by the kids to drop off cash while we look at lights. We have a friend that is having a small dinner in a bay that is big enough for a fire truck with outdoor heaters and fresh air flowing through. Family is pretty much celebrating within their households.
ReplyDeleteChristmas will be low-key this year. Of course, in my mind it is a big deal.
ReplyDeleteOur families are both big, so we still gather on both sides. If my son gets home, and even without, we'll do a family dinner or formalized happy hour just us. Merry Christmas, Sluggy.
ReplyDeleteWe will be staying home to celebrate Christmas this year. My brother wants us to come to Illinois, but I don’t want to travel that far from home.

Good Morning. Got my basic house cleaning done this week and put out just a few decorations. My manger scene that my mom gave me and the boys when I was first divorced. It goes out every year. Lost my adult son this year so every first holiday since then has been bitter sweet. So I am just changing things up a bit. Still celebrating but a little more low key and only things that mean something to us. Take care!
ReplyDeleteOn Christmas Day my kids, grandkids, and sis/bro-in-law will come to my house for lunch. We will probably have a traditional ham meal followed by presents. It will be great, but there will be a couple empty chairs. Thanks for the giveaway! --Angie O.
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty lowkey here. We'll host my mother-in-law and my brother, but quiet day. We're planning to drive through the light show in the next week
ReplyDeleteWe are heading to Seattle to spend the holidays with our kids - SO, SO, SO looking forward to it!!!
ReplyDeleteI have kids/grandkids on Christmas Day, we have forgone dressing up and I buy matching Christmas pajamas for everyone which are worn the whole day. The count is 21.
ReplyDeleteI think I want to change families so I can stay in PJS for the day
DeleteMost of this stuff would go in my purses for the Pink Purse Project. I suppose my favorite gift would be a book.
ReplyDeleteI think everything is done, shopping, decorating and Holiday meal. Family is coming over for Christmas Eve lunch and after that, it will be back to the usual grind lol.
ReplyDeleteMy husband's family will celebrate at my house on 12/26. There will be 36 invited. Yikes. We will just serve finger foods, and everyone will help provide those. It should be a lot of fun. Thanks. --Angie O.
ReplyDeleteDaughter 3 just mentioned what ever day (if he does get home) Army grandson gets home will be their Christmas and I do not have to bring food YES
ReplyDeleteWhoever wins will not need any stocking stuffers this year.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure how I posted twice on the 4th! So, most of this box would go to my Pink Purse Project.
ReplyDeleteLow key. I was just in the basement digging around.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if we're getting snow this winter or not. All the old timers here in Reno say it's going to be a snowy winter. Wonder if we'll be making a snowman for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, we got our prize yesterday and are so excited, thank you so much
ReplyDeletewe are spending the holidays home!, hopefully we will get some snow so the girls can sled!
thanks
We spend Christmas in town...I'm lucky that all my four adult daughters are nearby. Preparing for Christmas is our favorite! We variously get together to bake cookies or decorate or craft/sew last minute items. We celebrate together with their guys and my local brother and wife on Christmas Eve. On Christmas Day, whoever wants can come over for leftovers and snacks to watch movies or play games....super low key! Then we call my other brother and family in AK and visit for a while.
ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays to you!! Debbie H :)
We always open/opened gifts after plundering the Santa piles of gifts. We never opened anything on Christmas Eve.
ReplyDeleteI still need to do just a little more Christmas shopping, but the majority can be done at the bank's teller window. Win! --Angie O.
ReplyDeleteRaining here today. Cold so it does feel like winter. I can't believe it is under 3 weeks until Christmas. All presents are bought and only one more box to send - to my granddaughter. My son wants to add a few things to the box so it will go out Thur. or Fri. Take Care.
ReplyDeleteSince moving to TN last year from OH, we are still trying to find our way. We will attend Christmas Eve service at church. Our son is playing "Joseph". Most of our family is gone now so it's always hard.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas and a Blessed New Year to you!!!

The holidays will be low key. I think it’s important to spend time with the people you love when ever you can. I do like giving gifts people actually want, makes it harder buy way more personal.
ReplyDeleteWrapping today. Went through my extras and found out I have plenty of wrap paper, tissue paper and gift bags. Made Candied pecans a few days ago. Had to package them up for gifts or I would have eaten them all! Take care.
ReplyDeleteI am not sure when I have commented since the comments aren't posted, so here goes. Wednesday, I start addressing Christmas cards. I could not find them for two days, but today I finally figured out where I put them.
ReplyDeleteI'm pleased to get to stay home for Christmas. On Christmas Day I will host 9 people for lunch. On the day after I will host about 30 people for finger foods. I should go clean. And cook! Or at least make a list and check it twice! Thanks. --Angie O.
ReplyDeleteChristmas Bunco tonight! My once a month Bunco group always gets together in Dec. for a fun gift exchange. (we get some pretty crazy gifts) After Bunco is played and food is eaten we each draw a number then we go from 1 to 12 and each person can keep theirs or trade once.
ReplyDeleteLow key here in ri. GerryT. Merlinsfamily@outlook.com
ReplyDeleteJust before Christmas, we have an invitation to visit my neighbor named Linda and have a meal with her. She has not set the exact date, but it will happen. She is the one we ate with a few weeks ago.
ReplyDeleteChristmas will be quiet this year. I had major surgery on 11/30 which requires a 4-6 week recuperation so no traveling.
ReplyDeleteOne card sent out and how many? to go.
ReplyDeleteWoke up to snow in the mountains and rain down where we live. Coming closer. Supposed to be 18 degrees tonight! Yikes! Thought I was done shopping but have two more gifts to get. I know what they are so hoping it's easy. One more box to send tomorrow for my Granddaughter. Then I can stay out of the post office. Cards will go out in regular mail from the house. Take care.
ReplyDeleteToday I finished shopping/ordering gifts for my three grandchildren. I get excited to give them presents and have to set a limit or cut myself off with spending. It is hard to find a stopping point when it comes to a precious 7, 3, or 1 year old! --Angie O.
ReplyDeleteWe'll have a low key event since I'm recuperating from major surgery. So glad to have it done!
ReplyDeleteHoping you are okay as we haven't seen you on here for a few days. Still trying to finish up everything for Christmas by the 15th. Sent the last package to my granddaughter today. Hoping I can rest some the last week before Christmas. Take care.
ReplyDeleteWhile I'm still waiting on a gift to arrive in the mail (fingers crossed), I believe I just need to purchase a country ham for my FIL to be finished shopping/wrapping. Still some menu planning, grocery shopping, and lots of cooking, but I will enjoy those things. Thanks. --Angie O.
ReplyDeleteWe are expecting snow Tue. and Wed. of this week and then again right before Christmas. Glad I have most of my stuff done up! Looking forward to a quiet Christmas at home. My son works so the day before taking him some snacky foods like we are having and he can eat when he wants. He works nights and usually gets off at 6am but volunteered to stay to 10 so the guy who relieves him can open presents with his kids before coming in. Blessed to have a sweet son. Probably movies or reading on Christmas. Low key. Hey, maybe I'll stay in my jammies all day.
ReplyDeleteNow that my shopping is finished, it's time to second guess my choices! I especially hope the grands like their gifts. My husband and I will get to stay home to host our families. We enjoy that a lot. Thanks. --Angie O.
ReplyDeleteThis will be my first Christmas without Raye, my husband of 51 years. Festivities will be low-key with my grown sons, grandson and extended family here at home. Penny Swinea
