TWO Giveaways for April? Let's GO!

I know Spring has sprung here as the Serviceberry tree flowers are starting to bud.
So it's time to hold some Giveaways!
Yay!!!

For The first Giveaway, here's what you can win if you are selected.........

1 x Suave deodorant
1 x Max Freeze topical pain cream
1 x HE conditioner
1 x Pantene shampoo
1 x Simple Micellar Water face wash
1 x Tums sugar-free
1 x Schick disposable razors
1 x Crest toothpaste
1 x Colgate toothbrush
1 x Visine allergy eye drops
1 x Nivea lip balm cherry
1 x Magnavox ear buds
4 x Hershey Gold full size candy bars

Close up shots of the goodies..........

Around $60 worth of regular retail goodies(depending on where you shop for this sort of thing).
Lots of April necessities here--things to get you ready for Spring(razors, hair, deodorant, face wash, dental needs)pain cream, allergy drops and ear buds for outdoor yard work time and then candy bars to feed your soul(and antacid tablets if you eat too many bars at one time.

There is a little more room in this box so depending on whomever wins and their needs I can tuck a little more chocolate in and/or some cosmetics paraphernalia.  ;-)

We are doing things a bit different this month.

* This April Giveaway Box of goodies is open to any and all readers WHO HAVE NEVER WON A  GIVEAWAY.  You can be a new reader or a long-time reader, just haven't won yet

There is a limit of ONE ENTRY PER NON-WINNER YET PERSON PER DAY for this Giveaway.  Come back every day and enter though!

Please tell me in your entry what your big plans are for April......or your Easter dinner menu if you celebrate that holiday.........your favorite thing about Spring.........if you make jams and jellies when the fruit starts coming in...........your best buy at the grocery store last week........your best money saving move.......or something random about yourself that we don't know.........that sort of stuff.
No boring "enter me, thanks" entries.  Be creative!

* Now for the second Giveaway, it's open to everyone who HAS won before only.
Being an "old-timer" here you get the luxury of choosing what goes into your box(within reason).

I would like to try to grow the readership so I want you to do two things to get entries......

1-get someone to come read this blog who doesn't read it.  Have them enter the NON-WINNER YET GIVEAWAY and get them to say in their comment there that YOU(using your name or blog name) sent them here.  Easy Peasy.
You will get an entry in this 2nd Giveaway for everyone who enters the NON-WINNER GIVEAWAY and mentions your name or blog.

2-The other way to get a daily entry on the 2nd ALREADY WON GIVEAWAY is to tell me something you'd like to see me cover/talk about/discuss on this little blog.  It has to be something we don't cover yet or give me some constructive criticism on something I do here and/or how I can do that thing better.

Ok, got it?

GIVEAWAY 1-YOU HAVE TO BE A NON-WINNER and can enter daily.
GIVEAWAY 2-OPEN TO FOLKS WHO HAVE ALREADY WON ONLY and can enter daily AND get additional entries if someone enters the Giveaway #1 and mentions you and/or your blog.

I'll leave these giveaways open until Tuesday, April 23rd at 11:59 pm Eastern Time. On April 24th I'll mark all valid entries  on slips of paper and have Ex-College Boy draw the two winners(one for each giveaway).

*Please note these rules*
I'll post the name/ID of the winner on this blog on April 24th and that person has 48 hours from the time stamp on that post to contact me privately via email(my email addy is listed on my "About Me" page, as well as on my side bar).

If I am not contacted via email, I'll attempt to contact the winner via the email they supplied with their entry(or gave me to add to the Giveaway Data Base)and if that email is not responded to within another 48 hours I'll pick another winner.

Disclaimer--This giveaway is open to those with mailing addresses within the US only.  As the cost of postage to foreign countries has gotten too high I am sorry to say I can no longer afford to mail boxes outside the US.  These giveaways are not sponsored by any companies.  I pay for it all(the cost of items given away and the postage to mail it all)out of my own pocket.

***PLEASE NOTE***

Please make sure there is a way for me to contact you in your comment.

If you're not a registered Blogger User with your contact information on your User page, please put your email addy in your comment or email me your email addy privately when you leave a comment so I can get a hold of you. If your Blogger associated user profile is a GOOGLE one with those Google Circles nonsense I CAN NOT CONTACT YOU as Google Circles doesn't show your contact info.

If I can't contact you then you can't win.  I am still having to disqualify entries due to this issue and I sure don't like doing that.  Thanks!

So let's get the April Giveaways started.  Good Luck to all!

  2. I would love for you to talk about your yard/house update plans. I just bought a house and need insight. I won a giveaway about 8 years ago--you continue to be generous!!

  3. Oh darn...it's tough being Canadian lol! Not really. How about you mail the give-away to my cousin in North Carolina and he can drive it up to me :)

  4. I would love to see more of Chester. He is so cute.

  5. Ok, will broadcast this context! I'd like ot learn more about how you and the hubs are managing your new time together in retirement. Is he joining in on the hunt for deals? Maybe learn how your skills have or have not been passed down to your kids. Good luck everyone!

  6. I won a generous box several years ago. Now that your son is an ex-college boy and it seems your daughter is making plans to fly the coop, I thought you and your DH were moving to a more retirement friendly area. I would love to hear you analysis on where and why - retirement friendly ideas. I retired almost a year ago today (DH has been retired 2 years). We picked our State because it is tax friendly for "retirees". While we love it so far and are glad we bought a house when we did, we may not stay forever as it is quickly become traffic unfriendly, crimes increasing, etc.

  9. I was so excited to win one of the gift boxes over a year ago! I love to see the deals you get at RiteAid... for my suggestion I wondered if it would it be possible to post them early in the week while we could still get them... I realize it depends on your schedule but sometimes I read the info on Sunday and think shoot.. I should have noticed that in the flyer last week. I enjoy reading your blog very much.

  11. I'm a past winner....and REALLY want to win again :) It is truly like Christmas morning opening up that box!! We aren't doing much at all in April - now that the kids are grown Easter is very quiet. Right now just concentrating on getting some spring cleaning done and getting Chase paid off ASAP.

  12. I am so happy it is spring, nice weather, flowers and plants in yard growing. I have "refunded" for years but only a few places in my small community I can get deals. Wish I had a Rite Aid but none close by. Enjoyed your travel blogs. Also would love to win.

  13. I am a nonwinner long time reader. We are having Easter dinner here and will have Ham and jello salad and I am just not sure what else at this point.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I'd love to enter your contest, which I heard of from Making Cents of It All blog.

For Easter dinner, I'm having my husband cook a turkey and a ham on the BBQ, and we have found a recipe for grilled cauliflower steaks we may try. I will do something with potatoes, my mom is bringing a tossed salad and black bottom cupcakes (gluten-free because there are 3 of us who eat that way), rolls are coming, as is broccoli salad from others. I have no idea what else we will cook--it depends on my mood.

I guess the cutest thing I saw this week was my nephew eating Jello with 3 baby spoons at the same time and asking me to take his picture and caption it "Jake Likes Jello." (Maybe it's a doting auntie who thinks that is cute, but it was kind of funny since he's usually telling me to not take his picture for any reason!)

  18. Hi to all, the contents present at this web page are actually remarkable for people knowledge, well, keep up the nice work fellows.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I'm one of the lucky ones who have won a giveaway from you in the past. I agree with the anonymous poster who said opening one of your boxes was like Christmas morning.

Do you like to go to yard sales, Sluggy? If so, I would love to see a yard sale Saturday post from you.

I also love to read about skills that people use to live frugally. I agree with several posters who wanted to read about how you and your hubs were handing retirement. Any surprises that you've run across that you were not expecting?

I'll be blogging about the giveaway tomorrow and hope some of my readers will come and help you up your readership.

I hope you have a great day. :)

  20. I won this February and loved all of the goodies. With my youngest starting college this fall, I would love to know how you saved money while your kids were in college.

  21. Past winner...thank you again for these giveaways! Something to discuss on the blog might be the second house ....how you decided on LA, what factors you are considering now...or maybe I am wrong and the house in LA was not meant as a retirement home. The topic would probably be interesting for readers, though.

  22. My husband is retired military and I am retired lab tech. We now have a small handyman, lawncare business that is keeping us busy. I have redone or made new flower beds for customers for several years. Guess my work was good as I have 6 customers waiting on me to do flower beds. I hate being on my knees so much but love designing and planting flower beds for others. With all the pollen I could use the eye drops in your give away lol

  23. The yellow pollen has been here for a couple weeks. A good rain came through and hopefully washed some away. Thanks for the giveaways ~ have never won. Teddie

  24. Hello, first time non-winner here. I was sent by Belinda from Frugal Workshop. Our Easter dinner will include a ham that we purchased on mark down at a grocery store and stuck in the freezer around Christmas. Buying mark downs is one of the best ways we save money.

  39. I am in the non-winner camp. My best buy from the grocery store in the last week was a local grocer had chicken strips on sale for $.76 a pond. I bought enough to fill my freezer, and then bought a few more at the end of the week. emailoftim@aol.com

  52. Giveaway 1 My favorite thing about Spring is the blooming trees and grass. The brown, dormant grasses and empty trees are not a good look, so I like when everything turns green again. emailoftim@aol.com

    ReplyDelete
  53. Previous winner....another suggestion...in addition to posting outside book reviews, maybe a guest post? It would give you a break! Happy Easter to all who celebrate it!!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Didn’t share with my coworkers since none of my previous comments would post. Watch this one work and not my funny ones involving asparagus pee! Still using stuff from the previous boring box so really didn’t need to enter. I’ll email you my list of potential fun blog ideas.

  55. My family is not crazy about ham and ham is not on my diet plan so I think we will have steaks with some simple sides. DH is not crazy about potatoes either. Teddie

    ReplyDelete
  56. Giveaway 1 Tonight is the big night, where we decorate Easter eggs and put them out for the Easter bunny. I probably enjoy doing this more than our kids!! emailoftim@aol.com

    ReplyDelete
  57. Giveaway 2....was rolling coins this morning and thought of you. What do you do with the coins you find? Do you save them for something specific? I have thrown them into a jar for years, now it’s time to roll them and get them to the bank.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Giveaway 1 - went to an Easter egg scramble with the kids today. 25,000 eggs! It was wild!

    ReplyDelete
  59. Previous winner...not so much for the blog, but you are a really skilled geneological researcher. I thought of you whenI saw that program on PBS with Henry Louis Gates, where he researches the family history of celebrities. What you do seems more complicated, because you branch out to research related families/siblings/historic events. Have you ever considered offering workshops on genealogical research? Maybe at a local library, or online?

    ReplyDelete
  60. Giveaway 1 The stars aligned in my neck of the woods and we have a 90 degree Easter. That means a cold front is coming through in a few days, but I will take it while we have it!! emailoftim@aol.com

    ReplyDelete
  61. Giveaway 1 - enjoying a quiet, rainy Easter. Our picky 4-year-old has decided that COLORED eggs taste better than regular hard boiled eggs and has been eating nothing else for the past 2 days, haha.

  64. Happy Earth Day to all! Can’t think of anything to suggest today, but I am a previous lucky winner.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Giveaway 1 Now that Eatser is in the rear view mirror,we have Mother's Day just a few weeks away. emailoftim@aol.com

    ReplyDelete
  66. Giveaway 1 - To celebrate springtime I'm thinking of getting chickens...is this a terrible idea?!?! I feel like it might be more work than I realize.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Hello! I am a new reader, have never won and learned about you from the Making Cents of It All blog. I love to relax at the end of my workday and read tips from
    like-minded frugal friends.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Maybe have your husband do a post on his first year of retirement from his point of view. I know you differ on blow money so we could see his point of view.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Giveaway 1 Large swaths of the country are getting rain, and that is my favorite thing about Spring. I also like the thunder and lightening, but I could do without the tornado warnings and threats of baseball sized hail. emailoftim@aol.com

    ReplyDelete
  70. Sent you an email but my favorite from the list may be freezer challenge. Ask readers to send before and after pictures of their “freezers of doom.” I made some progress on the basement freezer this week. But just spotted a buy one get one free deal on my type of cheese. Only occurs 2x per year so freezer will be stuffed again this weekend! So maybe hold off on that challenge for a month or so. 😁

  74. Hi there, my best and favorite money saving tip is: to try and never throw out any food. My Mother in Law was the best and most frugal cook that I have known and she taught me many ways to use up leftovers and produce before they went bad. Just today I made homemade chicken soup with a carcass and chicken backs that were in freezer and used up veges that were at the end of their shelf life in fridge. Then add in some homemade noodles and a perfect cheap meal.
