My hubby hates the Little Drummer Boy and 12 Days of Christmas.
Where's the Feliz Navidad?!? It was my favorite as a kid, but now when I hear it on the radio, I still like it, but am ready for it to be over about halfway through.
ReplyDeleteI also like the Manheim Steamroller and the Transiberian Orchestra songs; makes good background music for work.
Most faves are more religious - O Holy Night (sung by Josh Groban!) is for sure my very most favorite! And Silent Night. But for fun I do like Rockin Around the Christmas Tree by Brenda Lee!
ReplyDeleteMakes me batshit crazy, though, that we have Christmas songs from before Thanksgiving all over the radio and the day AFTER Christmas they just cut us off. Cold.Turkey. I mean.........couldn't they go at least until New Year's Eve Day?
Susie Q,
DeleteI laughed until I coughed and choked! >>batshit crazy and just cut us off cold turkey<<<I so agree with both sentiments.
I love Mele Kalikimaka... not sure why but it just makes me smile so much everytime I hear it.
ReplyDeleteO Holy Night is the best though!
Favorites:
ReplyDeleteSilent Night
Grandma Got Ran over by a Reindeer
Absolute fave:
Redneck 12 Days of Christmas
You can take the girl out of the trailer but you can't take the trailer out of the girl. Haha
I am so Christmas musiced out(ok that is my own made up phrase) but my top two of each
ReplyDelete1, Favorite song: Silent Night or Mary did you know
2. Hate: Christmas shoes and These are a few of my favorite things(seriously its not a freaking Christmas song!
3. If they play it again I will scream: Grandma got run over and Jingle bell rock
They start playing Christmas music the week before Thanksgiving and they play the same ones over and over and over...
I don't have any favorites, and I don't know them by name, but I've always found the stalkerish one (snow outside?) very amusing. I also like Christmas (baby come come) and Happy Xmas (War is over).
ReplyDeleteLove that video!!! Thanks for posting that. It reminds me of some of my Irish songs!
ReplyDeleteI don't know half your religious songs! I probably would if I heard them I suppose.
I hate the Christmas Shoes song as I feel like the kid is a panhandler type who will sell the shoes on Ebay the first chance he gets. I've gotten cynical in my old age...
I love Mary Did You Know, All I Want For Christmas Is You, and about 140 more and I know the words to all of them.
I have to say that Santa baby by Eartha Kitt is my favorite. Shhhh don't tell anyone that I have a Christmas song that I like, it goes against my image.
ReplyDeleteMy all time fav is 'I Saw Her Standing There' by The Beatles.
ReplyDeleteNot a Christmas song?
Exactly.
iTunes Radio just released 20 newly discovered Beatles tunes. They can only play them till the patent/copyright runs out Dec 31, 2013. That's what I'm listening to this holiday season.
