This Week on the Dining Table....the February 12th Edition

The "Tried a New To Me Food" Edition.......

When the power went out yet again! last Friday around dinner time we had to go out to eat.  We went to a regional Pizza Joint to eat dinner(nobody we have found does "good" pizza in Louisiana FYI, not allowing for chains like Pizza Hut and Domino's which we have here).  I love me a Muffeletta Sandwich and they had a Muffeletta Pizza on the menu so we tried it.  And now I am loving this pizza(if you love olives you'd love this one too)!  The only issue is I think they grease their pans because I had to keep sopping up the grease on my plate with napkins.  I believe it was Olive Oil so not too bad but still, why all the oil???
This pizza may be the one thing I will miss when we leave Louisiana besides my Daughter....and the Brisket in a little town over the border in Texas. 8-)
Have you ever had a Muffaletta Sandwich or a slice of Muffaletta Pizza?  Do you like olives?(Not those tasteless black ones but briny Spanish or Kalamata Olives?)

This is day 246 of the new "diet".  Down 59 lbs. since the cruise(not counting the 8 I gained on the cruise and then lost again, which would make it 67 lbs.).
Not actively trying to lose right now, just maintaining.  I plan on kicking the weight loss up again in March. ;-)

Onward to the meal planning!

Last week we spent $228.29 on grocery(dog food, paper products, toiletries, etc.)shopping for February.

Total shopping comes to $388.29 for February.
There are 17 shopping days left in February.

Rebate monies earned this month so far.....
I've earned $58.04 on Ibotta in February.
I've earned $24.00 on Shopmium in February.
I've earned $26.00 on Alexa app in February.
I've earned $1.50 on Kroger Cash Back in February.
I've earned $5.23 on TaDa in February.

  1. Have you made the decision to leave? Where will you head? I've seen in your posts that you are not happy there, I just hadn't seen that you've made a decision to leave. Keep us posted!!

  2. I do enjoy a muffaletta sandwich, but it's been years since I've had one. I've never eaten liver, but I always wanted some of the onion gravy my dad made with the liver grease & scrapings. So good! I wish I had your discipline. I've gained 2 lbs. I'm supposed to be losing weight, but I like to eat. What's a girl to do?

    1. The pizza is a better ratio of bread to fillings/toppings than the sandwich IMHO. Many folks don't like organ meats....it seems to be an acquired taste. Just smother it with that onions and gravy. I've gained a couple pounds but working on taking those back off because I like to eat too. lol

  3. I have had muffuletta sandwiches but never the pizza. I think I would like the thinner crust better than the thicker roll of the sandwich.

  5. I made two pizzas last night and have noodle dough thawing. I’ll make beef and noodles tonight or tomorrow. Fresh Thyme has strawberries on sale and they’re actually really good. I’ve been chowing down the last few days and plan to pick up more soon.

  6. Jre when I was reading about the move to LA and just in my observation it doesn’t seem that great for both of I thought of the Mama and Papa’s song go where you want to go and listened to it. Yes some lyrics don’t fit but the first part sure does. I forgot how I loved that song. Listen to it a few times and life is too short. Go where you want to go and do what you want to do with ever you want to do it with! If your daughter has kids there’s planes, trains and cars and long visits.
