Congratulations!! From this 'Neena'. Yes, it's true, my first grandbaby couldn't say Nana, thus I'm Neena....and I LOVE that! Gigi, Mia are good options along with the much more hip Mimsey! As I say, doesn't matter what they call me, as long as they call!
Can I tell you a cute grandchild story? From about age three my cute! Granddaughter would differentiate her two grandmas as “ “grandma with the puppy” and “grandma with the kitty” (me) but then my aged kitty died and I’m “grandma without the kitty” ha!!! She’s 5 now but lately has also been calling me Grammy. They are precious and you have such joy coming. Jre
I named my grandmother. I could not say Mamaw, so I said memaw. My son said Pepaw instead of grandpa. My friend's son could not say grandpa, so said Toppah. As a grown man, it is still Toppah.
Congrats, Slugs & Dan! Such an exciting time!! Lots of fun ahead for you with the new grandbaby! How about "DeeDee" for you, Slug - since your name is Denise?
I am so excited for you! I chose Annie for Pip to begin calling me and had decided whatever her first iteration of the name was, would be what I stuck with. Yep, the first time she said my name it was Annie, so I am still Annie.
Congratulations! So happy for you. Mine call mine parents Nana & Papa. And, my 16 y.o. still calls my dad every Sunday to check in, & share what's happening in his life. He's kind of a turd in other areas (teen hormones), but this makes me think he might be redeemable yet ;-)
How wonderful! So exciting! Congratulations. I named my Grandmother too. She was to young to be a Grandma she said. Wanted me to call her Lorraine. I could only say Rae. So I called her Rae Rae. The rest of the Grands didn't come to her for almost a decade, so they called her Grammy.
