We don't really celebrate, just make sure to wear green! Don't want any pinching going on around here ;) According to my DNA Ancestry I'm 46% Scotland and 42% England.....very Irish according to my Grandma :) Tebble S.
ReplyDeleteThanks for another great give away!I don't really celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
ReplyDeleteBonnie S
No plans to celebrate St. Patty's day but this is my birthday month so I will be partying all the time!
ReplyDeleteEnglish and German heritage here. My husband doesn't like corned beef and cabbage so if I want it must find a friend cooking it or pick up a few slices from a deli to snack on.
ReplyDeleteI never have anything special to eat, but may find something. This year, I have a shamrock on the door. And, it sparkles. My mother's family is Scots-Irish. The surnames bear this out. But, I have never checked DNA.
ReplyDeleteI am not Irish, but always make cabbage and a green dessert for the day.
ReplyDeleteMichelle D.
We float as Hubby is German and I am 1 % of everything possible LOL. We might do corn beef hash. Hubby's great grandmother always celebrated planting peas on St Patty's day. We plan to do that this year.
ReplyDeleteI have a smidge of Iris heritage on my dad's side. St Patrick's day , before last year, was usually happy hour with friends that might move into dinner. I like a good Rueben anytime, and that's the closest to corn beef and cabbage meal that I'll likely have.
ReplyDeleteMy middle son always cooks corn beef, cabbage, potatoes and carrots for St. Paddy Dad. I havent done the DNA but research shows. My Dads family from Ireland and Scotland way back in the 1700's.
ReplyDeleteNo celebration here only special food was Irish soda bread I'm German but I'm married into a big Irish family Kirby is my married name.
ReplyDeleteSt. Patrick's Day has always been special; mainly because in my Irish History Book my ancestor (at least my maiden name was the King that united all of the Irish People), I married a man whose ancestry comes from County Cork, but more than anything in my house we LOVE corned beef, cabbage, potatoes and carrots and for good measure sometimes a good green beer......Happy St Patty's Day,
ReplyDeleteAlison M.

My paternal great-grandparents immigrated to the USA from Ireland so I've got some Irish in me ;) When I was younger we would attend a parade and then have a big party at my grandparents house. Now I try to wear green and maybe make something green for dinner. Other than that we don't really celebrate.b
ReplyDeleteI was a bartender for many years. I worked in an Irish Bar and everyone wanted green beer!
ReplyDeleteNo Irish blood here and no traditional celebration, but I did make a cute St. Patrick's Day wreath for a friend who celebrates the day. nonnashere@gmail.com
ReplyDeleteOf course you are Irish, stubborn, small, wily Joe's great grandmother was Nellie Ireland, I am afraid not much in me. I have the house decorated for ST Patty's day and I usually cook cornedbeef and cabbage, I make soda bread and some kind of a green dessert, like a pistachio tart.
ReplyDeleteMy aunt was born on St. Patrick's Day so there was always a celebration, although not with the traditional foods.
ReplyDeleteWe always celebrated when the kids were home but now they've moved out is honestly just another day in my house.
ReplyDeleteWhile we don't typically celebrate St. Patrick's Day, there is occasionally a pot of corned beef/cabbage/potatoes. Thanks! --Angie O.
ReplyDeleteWe always do corned beef and cabbage on St Pat's, not because we are Irish but because we can!
ReplyDeleteJust checked the grocery flyers for the week. Looks like cabbage and red potatoes are in my cart for the week. Cabbage down to .39 a pound.
ReplyDeleteI cook corned beef, potatoes and cabbage once a year sometime in March. Husband loves this meal, me not so much.
ReplyDeleteLinda C
I usually wear the same green dress to work every year but this year will be my uniform of pajamas with a sweater thrown on for meetings.
ReplyDeleteJen G.
My daughter is part Irish. Her dad's family is huge!
ReplyDeleteI can only eat about three or four strings of sauerkraut on a sandwich without adverse reactions. My allergies! But, I love the rest of the Reuben sandwich.
ReplyDeleteWhile there will be no big St. Patrick's celebration I am celebrating my birthday month by getting my second Covid vaccination. Here's hoping the side effects are too bad!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy seeing my grands dressed in green for the day but don't do much more than that. Thank you. --Angie O.
ReplyDeleteIf I remember I wear green on St. Patty's Day.
ReplyDeleteBonnie S.
My mom celebrated all the holidays for us kids when we were little. I seem to remember green pancake syrup on our pancakes. She made it and put in a little syrup holder you couldn't see through so when we poured our syrup it was always a surprise.
ReplyDeleteI usually buy cheap cabbage this time of year but didn’t see any sales last weekend. Kroger has asparagus for $.99 per pound again so may make a trip there this weekend.
ReplyDeleteJen G.
I have three heads of cabbage in my refrigerator, so it looks like it could be good for a St. Patrick's Day feast.
ReplyDeleteI have a green top I will wear on St. Patrick's Day. I remember as a small child in grade school that everyone not wearing green would be pinched!
ReplyDeleteWent to Kroger today and no cabbage sale but I did pick up asparagus. It’s green and I like it more anyway.
ReplyDeleteJen G.
Still debating if I will get a small corn beef. Sounds so yummy. Just have to see if my oldest son wants some if I buy and cook one. Otherwise I will be the only one eating it.
ReplyDeleteFrom the sounds of the weather report this morning we could be in for a really chilly St. Pat's day. The few days of high 60's last week really had me spoiled; I had to drag out the winter coat this morning!
ReplyDelete14 degrees this morning. Who knows what we will get on St. Patrick's Day. Could be in the 60's or snowy. Got to love Nevada weather. This holiday always reminds me of spring so hoping for spring weather.
ReplyDeleteI think I'll make some corned beef and cabbage in the crockpot for my dad. I like it, the Irish daughter does not!
ReplyDeleteDon't really know if I have any Irish blood in me - and I don't really have green in my wardrobe so tomorrow may just be another day!
ReplyDeleteI found three St. Pat buttons, so we will wear those if we leave the house on Wednesday. With the weather forecast, we may not open the door!
ReplyDeleteNot sure I sent in my comment for the 16th. Kind of got side tracked this morning. If not just wanted to say I am waiting for the corn beef to go down in price right after the 17th then we'll see about getting a small one.
ReplyDeleteGotta find my green for tomorrow! Hope you have a great St. Patty's Day!
ReplyDeleteHappy St. Patrick's Day!!
ReplyDeleteHappy St. Patrick's Day everyone! Wear your green so you don't get pinched.
ReplyDeleteOkay. After midnight. Shamrock is off the door. On to Easter.
ReplyDeleteI didn't celebrate St. Pat's day but it does signal exactly one week until my birthday! Hoping to celebrate a little bigger this year than I did last :0
ReplyDeleteThankfully, Saturday is the first day of Spring and we are getting ready for Easter.
ReplyDeleteTGIF!! Big plans for the weekend and next wee is my birthday week!!!
ReplyDeleteOoops.... missed yesterday! Last day to comment. Thanks for doing these amazing giveaways. Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteI keep getting error messages but I’ll try one more time. No DNA test but I’ve been told some Irish on both sides. Pretty just the standard American mutt.
